Kiran Rai, also known by her creator name KayRay, is an actor and creative director based out of Toronto. Throughout the past decade, Kiran has used her platform to primarily focus on addressing taboos within the South Asian community through short films, documentaries and digital series. From bridging the gap between children of immigrants and their parents to bringing light on dating violence to combating the stigma of mental health and sexual harassment - she has been able to create meaningful dialogue through her work. Regardless of the approach, she constantly challenges people on their perception of women of colour in the industry. Through her satirical yet didactic content, Kiran's work continuously inspires critical conversation. She is now the co-founder of The Kollective, a BIPOC focused creative agency that aims to create opportunities for artists while supporting smaller businesses with branding strategies. Diese Woche hat Serdar sich wieder einen Gast eingeladen. In der Presse wird Kay Ray "Skandal-Comedian" genannt, man könnte aber auch sagen: Kay ist ein Kabarettist, der nur seinen eigenen Regeln folgt. Mit Serdar redet er über sein Aufwachsen, seine Selbstfindung und seine Erfahrungen in der Medienbranche.

Holger und Chris plaudern noch ein paar Anekdoten rund um die zweite Hälfte des diesjährigen Adventskalenders aus. Dabei geht es vor allem um die Hintergründe von "Massengeschackseln", um das Finale mit Kay Ray und wie es Holger nach dem Konsum von Deans Plumpudding wirklich erging.

Kay Ray ist für seine schrillen Outfits und sein Make Up bekannt und auch dafür bei einigen gesellschaftlichen und politischen Themen kritisch hinzuschauen. Das macht seine Auftritte zu etwas Besonderem - auch wenn es manchmal schon leicht unter der Gürtellinie ist. Egal ob an Land oder an Bord - die Gäste mögen genau das an ihm. Wie der gelernte Friseur seine Karriere auf der Bühne startete und ob er auch heute noch Haare schneidet, das erzählt er in dieser Folge Prime Time Show Moderator Thorsten Jost.

Als ich das erste Mal auf Wacken war, dem größten Metal-Festival, hat mich seine Show im Comedy-Zelt aus den Socken gehauen. Da drehte Kay Ray im Handumdrehen ein ganzes Zelt in Richtung Wahnsinn. Kay Ray schon auf der Bühne niemanden, auch nicht sich selbst. Da kriegt jeder sein Fett weg. Er trinkt auf der Bühne, singt und manchmal schneidet er Menschen sogar in der Show die Haare. Als gelernter Friseur kann er das. Als wir uns am Rande einer Messe am Bodensee trafen habe ich ich mit ihm einen Menschen kennengelernt, der sehr wohl zu unterscheiden weiß, was er auf der Bühne macht und was abseits der Bühne wichtig ist. Dieses Gespräch wollte ich im Podcast intensivieren. Mich hat interessiert, wer hinter diesem im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes Bunten Vogel wirklich steckt. Ein Mann, der sich eben nicht in Schubladen schieben lässt - ein spannendes und überraschendes Gespräch, viel Vergnügen damit!

Kay Ray tritt seit Jahrzehnten als Comedian auf den kleinen und großen Bühnen Deutschlands auf. Der bisexuelle Hamburger ist berühmt-berüchtigt für seine Auftritte und Exzesse. In vielen Städten und Spielhäusern hat er bereits Auftrittsverbot, denn seine Witze und Sprüche richten sich oft gegen Minderheiten. Er will bewusst "gegen den Strom schwimmen" - und holt auch gelegentlich sein bestes Stück raus, denn er tut alles dafür, dass seine Fans und Besucher für einige Stunden abschalten können. Koste es was es wolle. Ihm kostete dies bereits viele Buchungen - doch er bleibt sich trotz aller Kritik treu. Auch die AIDA ist von seiner Kunst überzeugt und bucht ihn regelmäßig für ihre Kreuzfahrten. Moderathore durfte den Ausnahmekünstler vor seiner Show ausführlich interviewen. The documentary follows the Kurdish resistance in Syria and Commander Arian Afrin in the Women’s Protection Unit (YPJ) with her fight against ISIS.
