What do Donna Summer, Parliament, Gladys Knight, The Isley Brothers, The Village People, and Bill Withers all have in common with the rock band KISS? They all rose to their musical heights under the watchful ear of the music industry's most colorful and brilliant music producer, Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca Records, the most successful independent record company of all time. Along with a rag tag team of young music lovers, Neil and Casablanca Records would rewrite history and change the music industry forever. Their mix of creative insanity, a total belief in each other and the music they were creating, shaped our culture and ultimately defined a generation. In a story so unbelievable that it can only be true, comes the motion picture event of the musical journey of Neil Bogart and how his Casablanca Records created the greatest soundtrack of our lives. Some of today's hottest music stars are playing the icons who inspired them and singing their most popular songs including Grammy and Golden Globe nominee Wiz Khalifa as George Clinton, Jason Derulo as Ron Isley of the Isley Brothers, Pink Sweat$ as Bill Withers, Grammy Award nominee Tayla Parx as Donna Summer and multi-Grammy winner Ledisi as Gladys Knight. Spinning Gold features an all-star cast including Tony Award nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde), Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible franchise, Gone Baby Gone), Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live, Bad Hair), Tony Award winner Dan Fogler (The Walking Dead, The Goldbergs), Jason Issacs (the Harry Potter franchise, The Death of Stalin, The Patriot), Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass, Hot Tub Time Machine), Chris Redd (Saturday Night Live), Casey Likes (Almost Famous on Broadway), and comedian/actor Sebastian Maniscalco (The Irishman). Spinning Gold is written, directed, and produced by Timothy Scott Bogart and produced by Jessica Martins, and Laurence Mark, as well as produced by Gary A. Randall, Chris Torto, Bradley Bogart, and David Haring. Grammy Winning Music producer Evan "Kidd" Bogart, along with Harvey Mason, Jr. and Atlantic Records president Kevin Weaver are executive producers on the film and Atlantic Records will be releasing the soundtrack.

How can Christians best serve THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED? In this special Veterans Day edition of the Podcast, we explore that question with Kevin Weaver of THE WARRIORS JOURNEY.
Sgt. Blake Leitch (USA, Ret) joins the podcast once again, this time to talk about the significance of Veterans Day, and what sets it apart from other holidays honoring service members. The common civilian response of "Thank you for your service" seems like a nice gesture, but often rubs veterans the wrong way. Why? And should it? Blake and The Warrior's Journey's Kevin Weaver share their perspectives on this as veterans themselves, as well as some helpful tips for civilians who want to show their appreciation and advice for veterans in how they can more effectively respond and spread awareness. To hear more of Blake's story and combat experiences, check out Episode 35 of the podcast! Kevin Weaver, who has submitted films to The Heartland International Film Festival, describes his Bloomington-based production company which creates documentaries as well as business and nonprofit oriented films. He and Morton discuss the value of films centered on individuals compared to potential films that could or should highlight institutions. As a result of personal challenges, Kevin imagines presenting songs and stories about invitro fertilization.
You've heard the terms allyship and empowerment, but what does that mean when you apply that toward men? Specifically, do men have a role in helping women gain a seat at the table and maintaining one? How does a man learn to become comfortable with the uncomfortable conversation of sexual assault, assault, harassment, and what SHOULD they be doing about it as a leader? Listen to LTC Olivia Nunn speak to Dr. David Tharp and Kevin Weaver about this critical topic. Grab some tissues, listen as LTC Nunn recounts her own assault story, and share her vulnerability and why we need to change the culture.

SuaveTalk Episode 19: Kevin Weaver by DirtonDirt.com
Chad Robichaux (USMC, Ret) knows a thing or two about fighting. From jiu-jitsu mats to the battlefields of Afghanistan, Chad achieved incredible success as a Marine and MMA fighter. Despite all the fame and acclaim, it wasn't until reaching the end of his rope battling PTSD and a broken marriage that he found wholeness and purpose – not in fighting, but in surrender. Now, he has dedicated his life to help others do the same, and vulnerably shares his powerful testimony in a conversation with Kevin Weaver of The Warrior's Journey. Chad is a former Force Recon Marine and DoD Contractor with eight deployments to Afghanistan as part of a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Task Force. After overcoming his personal battles with PTSD and nearly becoming a veteran suicide statistic, Chad founded the Mighty Oaks Foundation, serving the active duty and military veteran communities with highly successful faith-based combat trauma and resiliency programs. Chad is also a 3rd degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and former Professional Mixed Martial Arts Champion having competed at the highest levels of the sport, and now a bestselling author of six books related to veteran care donating over 100,000 copies to the troops during his resiliency speaking tours. He is married to his wife Kathy of 25 years, and they have a daughter and two sons. Hunter and Hayden are both 3rd generation Marines in the Robichaux family and share Chad's passion as lifelong martial artists. We're back for Part 2 of a conversation between Kevin Weaver of The Warrior's Journey, photographer Lloyd Smith, and veteran Bill McGee as he reflects on his experiences in Vietnam. On Jan. 17th, 1969, Bill McGee was 10 months into a deployment in Vietnam when his life changed forever: during a battle in the Ben Cat district, he jumped out of his armed personnel carrier directly onto a land mine. The explosion cost him one of his legs, and after receiving the last of three Purple Hearts during all the action he had endured, Bill was sent home and received an artificial leg. Like so many Vietnam veterans, Bill didn't receive a hero's welcome, but a feeling of rejection as he reintegrated into American society, only adding to his pain. However, through embarking on a journey of faith and learning to share his story, Bill discovered healing and wholeness. During Bill's time in Vietnam, he took hundreds of photos with a Kodak 126 Instamatic camera. Half a century later, over 800 of those photos have been brought to life thanks to a partnership with friend and avid photographer Lloyd Smith. The photos and the response to them have helped speed up his emotional healing process and serve as a reminder of a pivotal time in his life. To see his 1968 photos, as well as other wartime memorabilia, go to https://photos.app.goo.gl/ygdZSsOEM84kt4P83. These initiatives facilitate a greater recognition and an enhanced understanding of the quality and character of the men and women who volunteer to serve, their families, their daily sacrifices and the constant need to evaluate and improve their quality of life. In this episode, Troops First Foundation Co-founder and Executive Director joins Kevin Weaver and Dan Boever for a two-part conversation about the history and heart behind the foundation. Shortly after visiting deployed troops in the Middle East with a group of college basketball coaches in the summer of 2005, Rick Kell received an invitation that would change his life. A Warrior Care Liaison at Walter Reed Army Medical Center asked Kell to visit several OEF and OIF patients recovering from serious combat injuries. After multiple visits, many friendships were forged. These friendships cultivated a strong desire to provide meaningful assistance on a larger scale. Over the next two years, Kell gained invaluable insight into the landscape of Warrior Care and used it to create concepts for new programs. Throughout this development phase, close attention was paid to a belief that new initiatives needed to be very relevant and without duplication. Upon sharing this information with friend and passionate advocate for our troops, David Feherty, the two co-founded Troops First Foundation and incorporated as a non-profit organization in August of 2008. In this episode, Kevin Weaver and Rob Stone sit down for a candid, vulnerable, and sometimes uncomfortable conversation about something that is universally experienced, but rarely brought out into the light of day to be unpacked: sexual struggles and sin. Pornography has never been more accessible, and we live in a world that is driven by a perverted understanding of sex. The reality is, sexuality goes way beyond the physical–it's matter of the heart, and our indulgence in it outside of God's design can leave emotional and spiritual scars that stick with us for a lifetime. But, there's hope! No matter how strong sin's grip may be on our hearts, the power of God's work in our lives is stronger, and He is able to heal us and set us free. To hear more of Rob's incredible story and profound insights, check out episodes 45, 46, 55, and 56 of the podcast, and be sure to pick up a copy of his new book, Your Dad Loves You!, on The Warrior's Journey website and Amazon now! Once again, we're live at the National Chaplains Conference! This time around, Kevin Weaver sits down for a conversation with Ben Peterson, former US Army Chaplain Assistant and now Executive Director and Founder of Engage Your Destiny, a non-profit ministry for veterans and their families. Ben spent 8 years in the Army, deploying to Iraq during the surge in 2008-09.
