About the Book: What starts as a minute-by-minute account of a disaster in a war zone quickly turns into an uplifting story of survival and triumph in FINDING WAYPOINTS: A Warrior's Journey Towards Peace and Purpose by Terese Schlachter and Col. Gregory D. Gadson, (Ret.). Emmy Award winning television producer Schlachter was working at the Pentagon Channel when she attended a press event at Walter Reed Army Medical Center's Military Advanced Training Center (MATC) in 2007 after a decade covering national news for NBC and MSNBC in Washington. There, the co-authors met for the first time. Their resulting book is the result of their extraordinary relationship, a hybrid of biography and autobiography, that tells the story of a man who survived the worst and has used his experience to enrich the lives of others. ***Copies of the book will be made available for purchase at the conclusion of the event and can be signed by the author.*** Purchase the book here. About the Authors: Terese Schlachter is a Washington, D.C., based writer and producer of videos and documentaries (NBC News, Dept of Defense) who first met Colonel Gadson when covering the new veterans facility at the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2007. She became his fast friend and confidante during his painful recovery and rehabilitation. Terese is a three-time Emmy Award-winning television producer and founder and Chief Storyteller of Ridgeback Communications. Her short film "Picture Perfect" was nominated for "Best Short" at the 2017 DC Indie Film festival as well as a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy. She lives in Shady Side, Maryland, with her husband Jon, and Lillian, a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. Colonel Gregory Gadson, (Ret.) was grievously wounded in an IED attack in Iraq in 2007 while he and his unit were returning from a service for two fallen soldiers. He subsequently lost both legs and severely injured his right arm, and, in the course of his rehabilitation and recovery, he became a source of inspiration and motivation for other war-wounded at the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Due to his longtime connection with West Point as a football player there, and his friendship with the coach of the then-struggling NY Giants in 2007, Gadson soon became a motivational co-coach and spiritual guide, helping the team go from nearly last place to Superbowl Champions in 2008. Gadson subsequently starred in a major Hollywood movie, Battleship, and has been an admired motivational speaker and coach for numerous organizations, both civilian and military, for several years now. An avid outdoorsman and enthusiast of skiing, cycling, and deep-sea fishing, he has led numerous adventure-travel expeditions for wounded veterans. He is the recipient of the 2010 NCAA Inspiration Award and the 2017 Henry Biscardi Achievement Award. In his honor, in October 2022, the new veterans center at Wayne State University was named the Colonel Gregory Gadson Office of Military and Veterans Academic Excellence. When not traveling around the country as a motivational speaker, Gadson enjoys time at home in Alexandria, VA, with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and continues to pursue his acting career and his love of photography.

The smartest preppers realize that you should constantly be reviewing your evacuation plan to find new, more efficient ways to level-up your gear and the actions you'll take when it's "go time" in a disaster. That why I love it when our followers and Academy members ask me to review their current prepping plans and offer my advice on ways they can upgrade their level of preparedness. And that's where I met Joshua, and in this week's show, I'll take you on a 10-point journey through the highlights of his plan so you can see where there may be some crossover with YOUR current plan - and give you some actionable advice that COULD just be the difference between you and your family reaching your Plan B bugout location safely... or being trapped with the other evacuees who were ill-prepared for the danger they didn't expect.

Mark continues the story of his amazing journey, including the shocking contents of the "cadet org / cadet estates org establishment eval", one of the most incriminating of all Scientology issues. This is part two; part one may be found here links: Mark's website cadet org / cadet estates org establishment eval Lisa McPherson story Spike's note: Qual = qualifications, where one has to go if you haven't gotten your "training" right. "Word Clearing" is where a Scientologist has to look up the meanings of the words involved in a given document and prove that they understand them. The idea is that the ONLY reason anyone would disagree with an order from Scientology management is that they had a "misunderstood word," that is, they didn't understand a word in the order. In Mark's case, management was essentially telling him that the only reason he didn't want to not spend time with his family was that he had misunderstood some word in one of the relevant Scientology policies, NOT because they were going against their own policies and ignoring the established "family time."

How do you start your day? We all have a morning routine, but do you have a meaningful one? Before diving into our phone and emails which put the day on a frantic “go go go” mindset, we can create a routine that is impactful in that it makes us feel grounded, calm, and centered. Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor, Megan Nolan, joins me to talk about how to create a new meaningful morning routine, even if you're busy. Megan believes that intentionality connects us to our inner guidance and to how we feel - and making ourselves a priority, even for a short time, is the ultimate gift.  Megan and I discuss morning routines and how to fit something intentional into whatever amount of time we have. My routine is an hour but yours certainly doesn't have to be. Megan describes how simply being aware of how you're holding your body while you brush your teeth is a good step. She shares about how to hack your brain so adding one new thing becomes routine, the importance of celebrating progress, how posture affects our mind, and how to open our posture up throughout the day. What if you were trapped in an abusive relationship for 23 years, and the fear of judgment and rejection kept you from finding your way out? How would you rise above and reclaim your life? On this powerful episode of Real Talk, Real Women, Breaking the Silence Around Abuse, I am honored to speak with Cynthia Encinas Concordia. Cynthia bravely shares her story of transcending fear and finding a path to healing, ultimately discovering her purpose in helping others break free from their own limitations. Cynthia's journey is not only about overcoming an abusive relationship but also about navigating the cultural complexities of addressing domestic violence in the US and the Philippines. We explore how a lack of legal protection for women and children in the Philippines, as well as the emotional impact of domestic abuse, contributed to her struggles. Cynthia also shares how her work with the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank played a crucial role in helping her make a pivotal shift in her life. Tune in as Cynthia shares her wisdom on forgiveness and how it has allowed her to become the person she is today. As the founder and CEO of Dream To Rise LLC, a life coach, and the author of My Journey Into Becoming, her mission is to spread sunshine, peace, kindness, compassion, and love. Be inspired by her incredible journey and learn how you too can overcome fear and rise above adversity. Cynthia's short introduction Cynthia has been in an abusive relationship with her husband for 23 years. It was her fear that kept her in this relationship. She was afraid of what other people would say, afraid that she was not committed to her marriage vows, and afraid that she would be judged and rejected. However, after his two restraining orders, he died of a massive cardiac arrest. Being cut off by his family because she was blamed for his death, Cynthia was trapped in her dark bubble for 6 years, living a miserable life because of fear. She made a shift so her children might experience and appreciate what life really is. A graduate of De La Salle University with a bachelor's degree in AB Psychology and a BSC in Business Management, she has worked for different companies and organizations, which made her realize the importance of human connection and knowledge sharing. The two international organizations, the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, widened her perspective on life. That's the benefit of working with colleagues from different countries around the globe. Her dream comes true was her last 6 years before she retired as an HR Analyst at the World Bank HR department. After she retired, she found something missing in her life and that was her purpose. She has discovered that her life experiences can truly help others, especially those who are stuck and afraid to go out of their comfort zone to make a change in their lives. She was in that situation, and she wants to inspire the abused women, most especially, that there is truly a light at the end of the tunnel and live the life they love. Given the remaining years of their life here on earth, there is still time to live life to the fullest and enjoy what life has to offer. Cynthia Concordia is the Founder and CEO of Dream to Rise LLC which started in September 2020.   Cynthia's vision is to spread sunshine and happiness to the people she meets so this may create a ripple effect. She only wants to see peace, kindness, compassion, and love here on earth. Her passion to spread light paved the way for her to become a life coach, publish a book, “My Journey Into Becoming”, start her mastermind group, Dream to Rise Inner Circle, and launch her podcast “Dream To Rise Podcast”. Cynthia helps women and men from 25-65 years of age who are struggling with their blockages and limiting beliefs that stop them from moving forward to manifest their dreams. Were two hard-fought decades in Afghanistan all for nothing? As a veteran, how do I respond to the loss of peace I fought so hard to protect? As an American citizen, how can I honor and support those who have sacrificed and suffered so deeply to protect and provide 20 years of peace? In this episode, Pastor Rob Kettering joins the podcast to encourage warriors in the aftermath of the United States withdrawal from Afghanistan, and to share from personal experience and investment how other church and business leaders can offer their support to military veterans and their families. Being the son of a military sergeant, Rob's dream was to be a Navy pilot. He didn't make it past the screening - slight color blindness stopped the dream at the start. Led down a different path, Rob's faith led him to the Amazon jungle basin to serve the poorest of the poor. Sleeping in the rainforest under a mosquito net, Rob heard the call from God to be a pastor and to focus on reaching the world with good. After attending bible school, Rob became a pastor and eventually founded River Valley Church in an elementary school in 1995. Under Rob's leadership the church has grown into a thriving church with nearly 10,000 in attendance across its eight U.S. campuses. In addition, the church under Rob's tenure has given away over $45,000,000 to outside organizations and relief efforts all around the world, including The Warrior's Journey. We're back for Part 2 of a conversation between Kevin Weaver of The Warrior's Journey, photographer Lloyd Smith, and veteran Bill McGee as he reflects on his experiences in Vietnam. On Jan. 17th, 1969, Bill McGee was 10 months into a deployment in Vietnam when his life changed forever: during a battle in the Ben Cat district, he jumped out of his armed personnel carrier directly onto a land mine. The explosion cost him one of his legs, and after receiving the last of three Purple Hearts during all the action he had endured, Bill was sent home and received an artificial leg. Like so many Vietnam veterans, Bill didn't receive a hero's welcome, but a feeling of rejection as he reintegrated into American society, only adding to his pain. However, through embarking on a journey of faith and learning to share his story, Bill discovered healing and wholeness. During Bill's time in Vietnam, he took hundreds of photos with a Kodak 126 Instamatic camera. Half a century later, over 800 of those photos have been brought to life thanks to a partnership with friend and avid photographer Lloyd Smith. The photos and the response to them have helped speed up his emotional healing process and serve as a reminder of a pivotal time in his life. As a senior non-commissioned officer of Delta Force, Command Sergeant Major Tom Satterly fought some of this country's most fearsome enemies. Now, he sits down to share his story with The Warrior's Journey! Over the course of twenty years and thousands of missions, Tom became a legend even among other Tier One special operators. Yet the enemy that cost him three marriages, and ruined his health physically and psychologically, existed in his brain, and the fallout from his battle with PTS nearly led him to kill himself in 2014. With the help of his wife, Tom learned that by admitting his weaknesses and faults, he sets an example for other combat veterans struggling to come home. He has since embarked on his most important mission: saving the lives of his brothers and sisters in arms who are killing themselves at a rate of more than twenty a day. In Tom's words, "You have to be vulnerable to be courageous" – and he encourages listeners to lead with love, not fear.
