You'll make my day. ----------------------- In this week's Insights Unlocked, we look back at three past episodes discussing the importance of smart content—that strategically crafted, user-focused content that adapts to audience needs, enhances customer experience, and drives engagement through clarity and relevance. Industry experts Bobbie Wood, Natalie Dunbar, and Kelly Erickson share insights on the impact of well-crafted content, the power of user testing, and the evolving role of AI in UX writing. Whether you're in marketing, CX, or UX, you'll gain valuable takeaways on how content strategy can elevate your brand and improve the way customers interact with your products and services. Key Topics & Takeaways: 1. The Power of Content in Customer Experience Successful companies prioritize clear, user-friendly content to drive engagement and loyalty. Content strategy isn't just about writing—it's about delivering the right message at the right time in the right format. Microcopy, such as button text and CTAs, can make or break user engagement. 2. The Importance of Content Testing & User Research A/B testing and usability studies are essential to understand how users interact with content. Testing must go beyond isolated elements—content should be evaluated across the entire user journey to ensure consistency. Observing user reactions, especially when they stop interacting, can reveal pain points that need to be addressed. 3. Balancing Brand Consistency with Personalization A strong brand voice ensures content remains consistent across channels while still adapting to different user needs. Marketers and UX teams should define voice and tone guidelines that allow flexibility for various contexts. The right balance between structured brand messaging and personalized user interactions enhances engagement. 4. AI's Growing Role in Content Creation AI tools can assist with content creation, but they lack the human empathy, nuance, and contextual understanding needed for great UX writing. The future of AI in UX writing is still evolving, and ethical concerns around AI-generated content must be considered. While AI can optimize workflows, human oversight remains crucial in crafting meaningful and relatable content. 5. Why Content Strategy Should Start Early in Projects Content strategists should be involved from the very beginning of product and experience design. Early collaboration ensures content aligns with user expectations, business goals, and overall design strategy. Mapping out content needs before development reduces the risk of last-minute changes and improves efficiency. Featured Guests:

As dental healthcare providers, our primary goal is to diagnose and treat oral health conditions. But a dental practice is also a business. And like every successful business, it needs a clear and strong value proposition. It should define how you deliver your "brand promise" and how your offering will deliver value to your patients and staff. Your value proposition differentiates you, positions your offering as “unique,” and makes it clear why patients should choose you as their dentist. To tell us more about how we can define our value and communicate it to our patients and our team, is our guest Dr. Lori Trost. Dr. Trost is a recognized dental educator, author, and clinical consultant who maintains a comprehensive restorative practice in the Greater St. Louis, Missouri area.

David is the creator/founder of IgniteDDS and was recently placed as the editor in chief of DentistryIQ! Their conversation went all over the place and here are some of the highlights: Where did IgniteDDS come from? Dental school and student debt: then vs. now What are new dentists doing after dental school nowadays? What options does a dental degree give you? (spoiler: it's not just private practice!) Dentists as writers Dental speaking isn't as glamorous as you might think Connecting with an audience is the best and worst part about speaking Presenting "naked" and perfectionism Becoming an owner in 2021 Practice transitions: work with the people who know how! Do startups take a special kind of person? (spoiler: yes) Buy or startup? How do you find out what you like to do/you're good at? Alan features a throwback interview with Dr. Frank Spear on this Black Friday episode! Back in 2019, mere months before the pandemic, we had a chance to talk with Frank Spear about some interesting research he was doing. It seems that what dentists thought about the profession isn't exactly what the data suggested about the profession. Some topics that we covered: Why do insurance companies cover thing so differently from state to state? The beauty of practicing in groups. But not necessarily a DSO. Could someone become Frank Spear in the way that Frank did considering student debt as it is now? How did beautiful temporaries make a difference in Frank's career? Why does Frank feel responsible to help the narrative that dentists tell each other? What's the data the Frank would really like to see? Why is it so impossible to compare dental businesses and income across the country? How can you compare apples to apples? Take home message: things are better than dentists are telling themselves! What is dental school like when your dad is Frank Spear? How could dental school teach things with more context? Are there useful parallels between dental and medical education? How will Frank's teaching schedule be changing in the future? How is the curriculum at Spear Education changing? What kind of "big numbers" has Frank been impressed with lately? Herodontics.  For normal, mortal human dentists, sometimes we do it. Even when we know we shouldn't. But can our patients really understand it? In today's episode Alan finds an analogy that helps based on the college basketball game he recently attended! They help us create content that is, for lack of a better word...Very Dental! I've found that using a digital workflow for posterior zirconia is very predictable. So much so that when I've evaluated margins, contour and interproximal contacts...I'm ready to cement. Why so cocky? Typically the digital workflow usually nails the occlusion. But more importantly, Microcopy Dental has a posterior adjustment system for zirconia (and lithium disilicate) that is so simple and SO GOOD. First, I use Bite-Chek articulating paper for accurate and easy to read occlusal contact marking. Then I use the specially designed Z adjuster diamond (my favorite is the tear drop shape) to refine my occlusion and finally I use the 2 step Neoshine Z polishers to bring my surface back to a high, polished shine! Microcopy has done the heavy lifting to make adjusting posterior restorations a breeze. And all of their products are single patient use so it's easy clean up and no cross contamination! You can cure up to 4mm increments, so it's sure to increase the efficiency of working in the posterior. It's radiopaque for easy identification on recalls, too! I'll get a chance to try it clinically next week and I'll give you my review with photos in the Very Dental Facebook group!
