FWEP0001  Do not be fooled by Genecia's impeccable appearance. Have been crowned as Miss Singapore and Miss Singapore International, many are quick to think Genecia was born with a silver spoon. However, behind this beautiful face there is a hardworking and self-sacrificing woman in power. This young lady had it all, but easy. As a teenager she was forced to put herself through her education by teaching an array of wellness classes such as: yoga, aerobics and line dancing. These years of hardship molded her and lead her to become the founder of Soul Rich Woman, where she educates and elevates women to realize their highest power.Interviewer: Elena CardoneThe architect behind many of Grant Cardone Enterprises' ventures, Elena is an experienced business woman, entrepreneur and investor with her and Grant's influence felt with Cardone Capital which is closing in on 5,000 units under management with a real estate portfolio valued at $1 billion.Connect with Elena Cardone: https://elenacardone.com/about/FWEP0001 Not Everything Is As It Seems - Women in Power Singapore with Genecia Alluora In this episode, let me encourage you as a former Miss Singapore and Southeast Asia Woman of Excellence in 2010; and founder of Soul Rich Woman, the number one female entrepreneur network in Southeast Asia that connects more than 12,000 women across the region, with presence in 7 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.  Self-SupportingAt an early age of 14 I have learned to face challenges and took on responsibilities due to life's circumstances.(3:33)“A lot of people thought that when I was Ms. Singapore they think that I was born with a silver spoon. But it did not start that way I had to support myself through school since I was 14 years old, teaching Yoga, aerobics and line dancing through my school years so I put myself through college I put myself  through university so it was really tough.” Financial CrisisDue to a financial crisis, I had to step up and think of ways to support myself and my family. I had to do sacrifices to make it through in life.(4:06)“At that time my dad lost everything due to the financial crisis. (4:20) Because of that I had to come up and do my own stuff and I think that has really molded me through my years and then after that I became an occupational therapist. (4:53) Back then I was the youngest instructor in Singapore and then I went on to do classes but it was not easy because when I'm seeing other girls doing things in their free time they are going to the movie, going for shopping and then I'm working after school.” Empowering WomenWhat I experienced during my teenage years gave me a better perspective on influence and how it can be used to empower others.(5:47) “I've come along way with my experiences, now it's time to share and shortcut other woman's journey and empower others because empowered women empower others.(6:45) After that I took on these skills, I went on to coach and mentor many women to transform their confidence from being ugly duckling to be more confident and become the better version of themselves.”  The motivation to changeAs I moved up the ladder and gained success, I realized I needed more freedom and not be bound by time and money.(6:56)“Because I went through that transformation myself too. That movement actually gave me the confidence to do more in my life. In 2012-2013 I told myself I'm no longer going to trade time for money because as an image consultant you work you get paid when you stop working you don't get paid. So I said I want to move this online.”  Process of growthYou need to expand and broaden your horizons to progress in life. You need to invest in yourself too.(7:21) “So I went through a process seeking mentors, looking for coaches to coach me on the process spent hundreds and thousands of dollars looking for resources to grow my knowledge. (7:38)I worked my way up then I took my vision of helping more women to be more confident and then I started a platform called “You are possible academy” because I launched my own book in 2013, it's about personal branding then after that I went online.”  A heart for womenDespite the success that I attained there was still something missing, I felt like I wasn't where I was supposed to be.(8:25) “During this whole period my heart has always been with the women even though I was doing the retail business. It was tough, because there was a calling at the back of my head like “Genecia you gotta do this” you can't just give up the women and just do a coffee retail chain. Move up and do more.” Stepping stone (11:15) “You know back then, I was bullied I was really bullied by mean girls in school. You know I was poor, I really didn't  have any money to change my bag or even to change my clothes besides my school clothes.”I faced the roadblocks in my life. From adjusting to our family's financial situation to being bullied at school and doing jobs while studying. These situations could have hindered me, but instead of viewing them as stumbling blocks I used them as stepping stones to reaching my dreams.  Key Takeaways:  Success is not determined by financial status. Life's changes should not stop you from pursuing your dreams. Keep learning, keep growing. Do not give up on what you are most passionate about. Roadblocks are stepping stones. Are you ready to be rich doing what you love beyond on purpose and in control of your life again? As for women who love the F-word podcast, we will be openly talking about getting more clients online, getting recognition as the leader and female entrepreneur and also the F word. Being fabulous, having freedom and financial independence. It's time to own and love the F word. Welcome to the show.[00:00:52]Speaker 2: Elena Cardone started her career in Hollywood and soon became a successful actress and model of TV and film fame. A lifelong competitive sport shooter and now author, businesswoman public speaker, empire builder and visionary. Elena has been happily married since 2004, July 4 to be exact, in their lives with her husband Grant and their two daughters Sabrina and Scarlett in Miami Beach. Elena came to Singapore together with Grant over a week and they were here to speak at the National Achievers Congress. Someone introduced us and we became friends and got me in for her interview as one of her guests. And in return, I also interviewed her as well on her story. So do take a listen. I hope you enjoyed these episodes.[00:02:23]Speaker 3: Welcome to this week's episode of Women Empower. Today, I have Ms. Genecia Alluora. She is Woman Empower Singapore. She has won Miss Singapore and Miss Singapore International. She represents Singapore not only once, but twice. Who does that? This woman, that's who. She also founded and is the creator of Soul Rich Woman Asia. And she connects about 200,000 plus women in the entrepreneurial space and really educates and elevates and motivates women to represent themselves at the highest level. So, without further ado, thank you so much for being on the show. It is such an honor and a pleasure to meet you.[00:03:12]Speaker 4: Thank you for having me on your show.[00:03:14]Speaker 3: It is wonderful to have you. So, okay, bring me back so my audience can understand. Have you always just been this successful go getter type woman or was this something you developed? How were you raised?[00:03:30]Speaker 4: Well, a little bit of my back story. A lot of people thought that when I was Miss Singapore, they think that I'm born with a silver spoon.[00:03:38]Speaker 3: That's what everyone would think. Looking at you, you looked so beautiful and so together and so intelligent. It's like, okay.[00:03:45]Speaker 4: Well, it didn't start that way. I had to support myself through school since I was 14 years old, teaching yoga, aerobics and line dancing through my school years. So I put myself through college. I put myself through University. So it was really tough.[00:04:01]Speaker 3: So why did you have to support yourself at 14 most?[00:04:05]Speaker 4: Well, at that time, my dad lost everything due to the financial crisis.[00:04:10]Speaker 3: Was this in 2008?[00:04:13]Speaker 4: Way back more.[00:04:15]Speaker 3: Way back more. Okay, well, you're way young to me.[00:04:17]Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah. And because of that, I had to come out and do my own stuff. And I think that has really molded me through my years. And then after that, I became an occupational therapist.[00:04:31]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:04:32]Speaker 4: Yes.[00:04:32]Speaker 3: So at 14, when the crash happened, your father lost everything. Did he say you have to go to work or was this now an initiative that you took on your own?[00:04:42]Speaker 4: My mom kicked my ass. She pawned her gold, her jewelry to give me the money to do the certification as an instructor. So back then, I was the youngest instructor in Singapore, and then I went on to do classes. But it was not easy because when I'm seeing other girls doing things in their free time, they are going to the movies, going for shopping, and then I'm working after school. So can you imagine waking up 05:00 a.m. in the morning to go to school?[00:05:12]Speaker 3: Not at 14.[00:05:13]Speaker 4: And then 12:00 p.m. 1, you finish class after that project work, you finish about 4, and after that I rest for about an hour, take a quick nap, and I rush for classes back to back from 07:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Wow. And by the time I reach home, I'm really exhausted. And that went on for many years.[00:05:34]Speaker 3: So that's what I call the sacrifice phase, which you probably didn't appreciate at the time. [00:05:38]Oh, I totally hated it. [00:05:40]You hated sacrifice phase. Are you now glad that you did sacrifice phase?[00:05:45]Speaker 4: Yes, definitely. Because I've come a long way and I have experiences. Now, it's time to share and shortcut other women's journey and empower others. Because empowered women empower others.[00:05:59]Speaker 5: Right. And so, when you finally got to this point in your life where you feel like, was it just an urge? Where you felt like, now it's my responsibility to help fast track other women, what point was that? Was it like a certain amount of money you made? Or when were you like, okay, I now know how to take care of myself, I want to branch out and help others now.[00:06:23]Speaker 4: In 2006, I won miss Singapore and I became an image consultant. And that because of my experience teaching and training and coaching. Having the extra skill set was quite easy for me to move forward. My clientele grew. They were CEOs of companies, directors of companies, as well as politicians here in Singapore. After that, I took on this skill and I went on to coach and mentor many women to transform their confidence from being an ugly duckling to a more confident version of themselves. So because I went through that transformation myself too, that movement actually gave me the confidence to do more in my life. In 2012, 2013, I told myself, I'm no longer going to trade time for money. Because as an image consultant, you work, you get paid. You work, you get paid, you work, you get paid. When you stop working, you don't get paid. So I said, you know what? I want to move this online. How can I go online? So I went through a process seeking mentors, looking for coaches to coach me on the process. Spent hundreds and thousands of dollars looking for resources to grow my knowledge.[00:07:31]Speaker 3: So you invested on yourself?[00:07:33]I invested in myself. [00:07:34]How did you have hundred and thousand of dollars?[00:07:36]I saved over the years.[00:07:37]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:07:37]Speaker 4: I worked my way up, and then from there, I took my vision of helping more women to be more confident. And then I started a platform called you are Possible Academy because I launched my own book in 2013. It's about personal branding. Then after that, I went to I went online. Right. That's when I make my first pot of gold.[00:08:01]Speaker 5: Wow. The first pot of gold[00:08:02]Speaker 4: Across my first pot of gold was when I make my first million dollars.[00:08:08]Speaker 3: Wow.[00:08:08]Speaker 4: And then I invested and started a cafe retail chain. We were in three countries singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia.[00:08:17]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:08:18]Speaker 4: And then we had seven outlets. We exited to a public listed company owner just recently.[00:08:24]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:08:24]Speaker 4: During this whole period, my heart has always been with the women. Even though I was doing retail business and it was tough, and I was called to this it's just like calling the back of my head. It's like, Genecia, you got to do you got to do this. You can't just give up the women and just do a cafe retail chain. You got to move up and do more. So during the time I was based in Indonesia for two years, running the caffe retail chain with my franchisee. I do online. I did webinars, I did online programs. I launched my membership program.[00:08:59]Speaker 3: Are you confident the whole time? Are you scared, like the first webinar you did or you're like, is this going to be a disaster? Do you ever have self doubt or is it just you just go in positive the whole way?[00:09:10]Speaker 4: It was tough because you didn't know how many audience were there. In fact, when I first switched on my webcam and used Google Hangouts back in 2013, there was zero viewers. You know.[00:09:20]I love that. [00:09:22]And it grew from one to ten and then to the first hundred. And that's how You Are Possible Academy grew. Subsequently, the women.[00:09:30]Speaker 3: How long did it take to grow?[00:09:31]Speaker 4: About three years. And I did about 1000 webinars probably every week. I did one every week. Wednesday at 09:00 p.m..[00:09:41]Speaker 3: They're free webinars.[00:09:42]Speaker 4: Free webinars.[00:09:43]Speaker 3: How would you think about the branding?[00:09:45]Speaker 4: Branding. How do you do funnels, marketing, automation? How do you become more confident?[00:09:50]Speaker 3: How long are they?[00:09:52]Speaker 4: By an hour.[00:09:53]Speaker 5: Good. Eleven.[00:09:54]Speaker 4: Okay. And then I kind of moved all these things online, and the women started to come in, and then they said, Genecia, can you not put your possible academy? Because Singapore's education system has so tuned us to, like, in school. So the women in my community feedback to me and said, Genecia, you got to choose a better name.[00:10:14]Speaker 3: No, they're not like, impossible.[00:10:17]Speaker 4: They don't like the name academy. They want something a little bit more, like, with depth and, like, with the inner academy.[00:10:24]Speaker 3: They don't like academy.[00:10:25]Speaker 4: They do like academy. I said, okay, let's do a rebranding. So in 2015, I did a rebranding. It's called Soul Rich Woman because all women have a soul. It's rich, wealthy, and we shine when we have confidence from within. So Soul Rich Woman.[00:10:41]Speaker 3: Okay, love this so far. If you said you went through the transformation yourself, were you an ugly duckling?[00:10:51]Speaker 5: No.[00:10:52]Speaker 4: Yeah, I was.[00:10:53]Speaker 3: Okay, so how does an ugly duckling, which is very difficult for me to buy, by the way, but I'm going to I'm going to buy because I have no reason to believe it would lie to me. But how does an ugly duckling go to Miss Singapore and Miss Singapore International. How did you even know you had it within you in the first place?[00:11:14]Speaker 4: You knew back then, I was bullied. I was really bullied by mean girls in school.[00:11:19]Speaker 3: Wow.[00:11:19]Speaker 4: You know, I was poor. I really didn't have any money to change my bags or even to change my clothes because I had the school clothes. So the mean girls would come to me, you know, PE lessons, what we call physical activities. They will pull my shirt, and then you'll pool open, and then they will see my bra, and they're like, oh, you're wearing the same bra again, like that. And there were times they took my school bag, and then he threw it across the classroom floor, and my books will be all over the floor, and you're like that. So myself. And things took a dip. But you see, I started when I was 14, and I told myself that whatever my family situation, maybe I'm not going to give up.[00:12:01]Speaker 5: Right?[00:12:02]Speaker 4: Yeah. So I took on.[00:12:06]Speaker 3: Did you feel that is the fuel to become determined to make it?[00:12:10]Speaker 4: I knock on doors and say, would you be willing to coach me in my public speaking? I knock on doors. Would you be open to willing to coach me on my image? Would you be willing to train me to walk and have good department? And that was when all these people, what they call the guardians, and people who really helped me and coached me, mentored me to become Miss Singapore.[00:12:34]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:12:34]Speaker 3: And what did that feel like, being crowned Miss Singapore?[00:12:39]Speaker 4: It was life changing, really, once in a lifetime opportunity, because for someone like me, it was a way out. And definitely it allowed me to travel the world. Since then, I've traveled more than what, 10-20 countries, 50 cities because of my title, Miss Singapore. It has given me so much privilege.[00:13:01]Speaker 3: Do people know who you are when you walk on the street?[00:13:04]Speaker 4: Yes. During that time, yes. But now, because I've taken a backseat, more focused on developing the platform Soul Rich Woman, so not so much in the front light, but fronting more on the business lines.[00:13:16]Speaker 3: So when you were crowned Miss Singapore knowing that you had been bullied, that you're the girl that has to go and chase your books around, how do you now wear this crown and now transition from feeling a certain way as that girl to now all of a sudden, people think that you're just that new girl, that new image. Don't you still have the same insecurities as the previous girl? And then what do you do? How do you transition into that life? You just kind of acknowledge them and move forward anyway.[00:13:48]Speaker 4: I'm very blessed to be Miss Singapore. Really, doors open for me, there were transformational causes that changed my life. I invested in myself, went for many, many different courses. In fact, in 2007, I went to Taiwan for a year and took on multiple transformational healing courses to let go of my past, my anger, my hatred, whatever, feelings that all women sometimes have a tendency to hold and play again, like a broken record. So I stopped completely on that, and my life completely flew from there. So it was kind of like a stepping stone.[00:14:28]Speaker 3: Do you feel like or maybe you don't even think about this question, but do you think Asian women have the same advantages as the Western society, culture, Americans, Europeans? Or do you think we're equal, or one has more than the other?[00:14:46]Speaker 4: I believe all women have the same rights, they have same opportunities, same things that have been given to us. However, at the end of the day, Asia is a different animal. We have Vietnam, we are in Malaysia, just race alone. We have different races, and in different races, we have different culture and dialects. And that different permutations because Soul Rich Woman is in Southeast Asia. We're in seven countries, and we're connecting almost 200,000 women across this region. And just alone when we travel to different countries, we have to be a little bit different because women at different phase of their life. Say, for example, when we went to Vietnam in Hanoi, the women in Hanoi versus women in Ho Chi Min are quite different. Women in Hanoi are a little bit more, they told me that they were stigmatized if they were to give up their jobs and go into entrepreneurship. Soul Rich Woman first went to Hanoi in Vietnam, we made a mistake. We didn't know. We were like, oh, you must do a business, have a side hustle. Let's build your empire.[00:15:54]Speaker 3: Right, right.[00:15:55]Speaker 4: And then they said, oh, no, but Genecia, this is not the culture here. Hanoi and Ho Chi Min are two different breeds of women.[00:16:02]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:16:02]Speaker 4: So that's when we learned, we said, oh, then what do you girls need? They say, we need more confidence in our daily lives to stand up for ourselves, to own our power, not just being a housewife and being a working person, but really be able to chase our dreams. That has been swept under the carpet for a very long time. So that was what we did in Hanoi. So that is why in different countries we do different things. Like in Malaysia, women are sighted for two main reasons why they are not able to step out because fear of failure and lack of support from family members. So that's why communities are so important. And that's why in Malaysia, we are also very strong. We have about 500 or 10 members over there. Wow. Supporting each other on your entrepreneurship journey.[00:16:51]Speaker 3: So what do you tell the woman who's struggling maybe with a cultural issue they want to step out, but they're not supported by their family and they don't have the confidence yet to do it, despite of or maybe they don't want to do it because they don't want to lose the respect or that's a toughy situation.[00:17:13]Speaker 4: Really tough.[00:17:14]Speaker 3: Did they come to you for advice? And if they do, what do you tell these women?[00:17:18]Speaker 4: So these women needed more confidence in looking at their dreams and finding the time to love themselves most. Because I find that the key to success for all women is self love. Only when you are able to love yourself, that's when you can give. But most women are empty vessels because they give their kids, they give their husbands, they give to household chores, they give to everything else but forgetting the self love is they key.[00:17:45]Speaker 3: And if they did that first, there would be more for the other.[00:17:48]Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. Their cup is so full and overflowing.[00:17:52]Speaker 3: Yeah.[00:17:53]Speaker 5: Oh wow. That's awesome.[00:17:56]Speaker 3: And this Soul Rich Woman, what's your proudest success story that's come out of that? Do women tell you that she came from blah blah, blah and then went to what's a good transformational story that really said, I'm on the right path with this.[00:18:16]Speaker 5: Wow. I have heard hundreds of stories.[00:18:16]Speaker 4:  That make it all worth it, right?[00:18:21]Speaker 5: Yeah.[00:18:22]Speaker 4: I think a lot of the women, the main thing amongst all female entrepreneurs, the key thing is always about the C word, which is confidence. But most importantly is the F word.[00:18:35]Speaker 3: The F word. I couldn't wait to talk to you about the F word. She has the F word. You want to tell them what it is?[00:18:42]Speaker 4: Yes. For women who love the F word, being fabulous, having freedom and financial independence.[00:18:50]Speaker 3: Okay, but first of all, does the F word translate as it does in America?[00:18:57]Speaker 4: We have the F word here.[00:18:58]Speaker 3: I say the F word.[00:19:02]Speaker 4: Just joking. But definitely for us, when I talk about the F word, why, I talk about financial independence and not financial freedom. Because the difference  is financial freedom. Of course, you are free to do everyone, probably you have passive income. But for a lot of women, when you're first starting out, how do you even first make a dollar? How do you first even make a first thousand dollars if you're a stay at home mom?[00:19:27]Speaker 5: Right.[00:19:28]Speaker 4: How are you balance that?[00:19:30]Speaker 3: If you hadn't had education, you don't know what you want to do. You don't know what you're good at.[00:19:34]Speaker 4: Yeah, precisely. So you have to start somewhere. So if you are able to earn a $1,000 every single month, passively or online, through online businesses, can you imagine what life will change? You could buy the extra dress for your daughter.[00:19:48]Speaker 3: And is this financial freedom?[00:19:50]Speaker 4: This is more financial independence. That's why I said we want to focus on helping women to be more financially independent. They could be receiving some money from their husbands, that's fine. But could they do something more for themselves? And because of that extra money that they have on hand, they could be more independent to make choices for themselves.[00:20:09]Speaker 3: So let me ask you this. If they go for the financial independence and let's say they have the side job, they're selling makeup on the side online, but they're not neglecting any of their responsibilities as a wife, a mother, or whatever they agreed upon. So this income, does it go to the household or should it be hers or does that not matter? Separate or together?[00:20:32]Speaker 4: And it will be her decision. But what I usually see is women usually keep it and hold it for emergency or things that they are always wanted to do. You see, we women must have a voice.[00:20:44]Speaker 3: I'm the same way. I have our money and then I have my money.[00:20:48]Speaker 4: My money.[00:20:48]Speaker 3: But he has no problem with us having our money, and he has no problem with me having my money. And I love that. I feel really blessed in that area. I'm like, thank you. I don't know what it is in my brain that needs my little thing.[00:21:02]Speaker 4: Yeah. Because we need to make our own choices. And that's when we feel like we have a choice to choose whether we want to give you the money or we give our family the money or I give my own dreams the money.[00:21:14]Speaker 3: To reinvest in yourself. Because when I've heard you say a number of times in this interview.[00:21:19]Speaker 4: Yes. In fact, finding a mentor is why we created Soul Rich Woman was to help women to go from offline to online to be more confident and more customers make a positive impact in the world. If you can't even have a say in what you want to do and be always a victim of your own circumstances, then I'm here to kick some ass, you know, and really to get out of your comfort zone and go towards the dreams that you always wanted to achieve. So that is why being fabulous, having freedom and financial independence is so important.[00:21:57]Speaker 3: Yes. And this is what's brought you kind of, like, alive. I see it in you. It's your passion. And you want this for other women. [00:22:03]Speaker 4: Yeah, I do, too. [00:22:05]Speaker 3: I feel like happy, empowered women or that have the confidence in themselves, they have no need to try to destroy another woman, try to throw their books across the hall, because that came from something. Those girls have a problem. A happy woman or girl does not treat other people like that. You know what I'm saying? So it's like the more that a woman can help herself and find her own confidence, the more she just wants to help and love and nurture other people. I believe it's innately in us.[00:22:37]Speaker 4: That's right. Yeah, that's very true. In fact, I really believe that alone you are strong, together we are unstoppable.[00:22:46]Speaker 3: I say the same thing in this book, build an empire. I say I was raised to believe that I had to do everything by myself. Like, I had to be Miss Independent. Miss Independent. And I tried so hard, and I could only get, like, this far. And it just so happened that when I got together with my husband and that I actually started to depend on somebody else and trust somebody else, and then from there, we added to the team and grew. And now we have staff and people that help us and build. But there is no you're doing it on your own. No empire has ever been built on your own. It takes a team. It takes a village.[00:23:23]Speaker 4: Yes. When a woman is empowered, the whole village benefits.[00:23:26]Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree with that. Because she wants the best for everyone.[00:23:29]Speaker 5: That's right.[00:23:29]Speaker 3: Because she knows ultimately it's going to benefit herself and everyone involved.[00:23:34]Speaker 4: Yes. So when we empower one, we touch a life that one will pass on to the other. So we actually have a mentoring program for girls under 30. So this we actually have cash sponsorships from different women who are more wealth to do. So, they gave us their cash sponsorships, and they gave us so we fund this entire program in Singapore, where we help underprivileged girls, where they don't have those opportunities to learn skills beyond education, which is just the books and the four walls in school.[00:24:05]Speaker 3: Kind of like you.[00:24:06]Speaker 4: Yes. And then help them to give them an opportunity to because not everybody can be Miss Singapore let's put it this way. Can we give them a skill? Because when you give them a skill everyone can be an entrepreneur.[00:24:14]Speaker 3: Because everyone can be an entrepreneur.[00:24:17]Speaker 4: Everyone can be an entrepreneur.[00:24:18]Speaker 3: I believe I do, too.[00:24:19]Speaker 4: Yeah. So, through this program, we want to equip this girl's skill so they can start early. Why do you have to wait till you graduate?[00:24:29]Speaker 3: Why do you have to wait till you went through the whole decade or whatever it wants to figure it out. You figured it out. Here the here's the don't let you go.[00:24:37]Speaker 4: Why do you have to wait until you get married and have kids and then after a failed marriage, and then you come to me and then you say, Genecia, I need help. Why do you have to go through that? Can we shorten it?[00:24:47]Speaker 3: Yes. That's what I wrote this book for. I want to fast track the process .[00:24:51]Speaker 4: Precisely.[00:24:53]Speaker 3: Yes. So can you tell my viewers, can my viewers in America join Soul Rich Woman?[00:24:57]Speaker 4: Yes, you can help. So we definitely need help here in Southeast Asia. We need time, we need resources, and we also need cash, sponsorships. So time, if you are a volunteer, you can volunteer, with us to be let's say you have a skill that you want to share as an entrepreneur. You want to teach funnels. You want to teach how to overcome their mindset. We welcome you if you have resources, like a venue. So we work with people like Facebook, Mercedes-Benz. These are like partners who give us their resources so that we can bring the community together. And that makes a lot of difference.[00:25:30]Speaker 5: Right?[00:25:30]Speaker 4: So venue, if you have resources, like. A jet, for example.[00:25:32]Speaker 3:Girls we've done that.[00:25:36]Speaker 4: Girls who are underprivileged have never had a chance to do all these things. Right? And then if you have cash and money to help us as well, to fund the project to give girls because we want to buy them good things, we want to support the program, we want to give some trainers who help us pro bonu fees, right? We can't expect everyone to do for free because there is some sustainability within the platform itself. Right? So, yes, I took up my part of goal, which is my cafe retail chain. We exited a public listed company. I took out all my money and invested into the platform. So it has to succeed.[00:26:12]Speaker 3: It will succeed.[00:26:14]Speaker 4: There's no other option. It's like the way and the only way.[00:26:17]Speaker 3: And where can people like, if someone wanted to say, okay, I have $100, I have $1,000, I have 10,000, how do they reach you? Or how do they offer their time or their service?[00:26:27]Speaker 4: You can go to be.soulrichwann.com, which is b,e, dot, soulrichwoman. S-O-U-L-R-I-C-H-W-O-M-A-N Woman. Yeah .com.[00:26:41]Speaker 3: Okay. That's awesome. Okay, so before we wrap up, on our last note, what would be a 14 year old self if you had one piece of advice for her? When that backpack went across the wall, the books went and you just I'm sure you probably had a lump in your throat trying to hold back tears, what would you have told that you are now? What would you have told that little girl.[00:27:06]Speaker 4: Your past that's not equal to your future?[00:27:11]Speaker 3: Wow, that's heavy. All these women of the world made me so emotional. I've never cried on Women in Power before. I interviewed this woman last week in Dubai and she made me cry. And now you make me cry. You're so amazing. I cannot thank you enough for coming on this show. You made me cry to exposing this part of the world. And it's so amazing to me. That what I'm finding on my journey around the globe and meeting the women of the world, that we all want the same thing. We all want to help each other, not only ourselves, men as well. But we focus on ourselves for now. Yes. And we all want to make a difference and we all just want to be loved, be taken care of, take care of others. And it's really beautiful. It doesn't matter what culture you are, what religion, what culture.[00:28:05]Speaker 4: Yes.[00:28:05]Speaker 3: We all want the same thing.[00:28:06]Speaker 4: We all want the same thing. We want to be heard. We want our voices to be heard. We want to be seen. We want to be recognized.[00:28:14]Speaker 3: Yes. Thank you so much for being on the show.[00:28:17]Speaker 4: Thank you.[00:28:17]Speaker 3: You are such a beautiful soul. This is a Soul Rich Woman. Thank you so much. From Women in Power, singapore.[00:28:26]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:28:29]Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining me today. I'm so honored that we are connected.[00:28:33]Speaker 4: And I hope that I can continue to serve you as you build your dreams.[00:28:38]Speaker 1: And if you love this episode and I hope that you did, rate it five stars, give us that glowing review because it will help more women around the world finding this Soul Rich Woman podcast. 139: DoNation By Laurus Enterprises Interviews Genecia AlluoraToday's episode is a really special one because I was part of a fundraiser, a charity event in the Philippines. But it's virtual. It's organized by Laura's Enterprises with the support of the world's largest event organizer who brings in Tony Robbins, T Haf Ecker, Robert Kiyosaki Success Resources Private Limited of Singapore. So this event is called Do Nation. Let's do it for the nation. There is a virtual charity learning event and aim to fundraise for front liners and event liners. I'm really blessed to be a part of this. So I hope you enjoy this interview and let me know if you love this episode. Genecia Alluora's Story of Bullying(09:43-11:24) I had to support myself at a very young age since I was 14 years old, and I wasn't able to kind of really build up my self-esteem well. So in school, I wasn't able to buy new clothes, new shoes, and therefore, I was often bullied in school because of my look. Imagine me with really short hair, maybe as short as yours. Rich, you have hair. Okay. So almost very short. And I have very dark eye circles, really bushy eyebrows, very tomboyish because of the way I was being brought up to defend myself, to defend for myself, and not with a lot of money in my pocket. I wasn't able to present myself well, I didn't have a lot of confidence, so I was always the spot where people would bully me. The girls have cornered me at the basketball court. I remember one time, and then they pull over my PE shirt, exposing my bra, and then one of them will actually say, oh, you're wearing the same bra. And I felt totally humiliated. Humiliated. So throughout my years, I was consistently being bullied because of my background, and I lost my self-esteem. In fact, there was one other incident that shook me up that I didn't even want to think about joining a beauty pageant because totally, I lost myself completely. There were times that they took my bag. My bag has holes in them, and they threw it across the classroom floor. And all my books were strewn all across the floor. And at that moment in time, I wanted to commit suicide. I just wanted to die. Her Journey Towards Joining Beauty Pageant(11:27-11:50) My self-esteem continued to go downhill. But you see, we are the average of the five people we hang with the most. And sometimes when we don't have coverage, we don't have bravery. We lost ourselves. It's the people around us who will support us and give us that support. And my friends believed in me. My friends saw the potential in me and say Genecia, you should just join a beauty pageant. Just go for it.(12:03-12:07) And my friends, eventually they enrolled me to join Miss Singapore.(12:11-12:24) And the best part was, I wasn't groomed. I didn't have a lot of money to buy a pair of heels. In fact, I could only afford one pair of black color heels. But in any beauty pageant, you need to have one black and one silver. And you have to have clothes for multiple events.(12:35-12:44) So I went to knock on doors, and eventually, I found someone who was willing to give me a sponsorship to teach me how to do public speaking. (12:46-13:18) Her name was Rebecca. And she gave me all the DVDs, CDs, her notes, and everything possible. She gave it to me. And then she said, can you give me your wallet, your bank? And I was a little bit blurred and naive at the time. Okay. I just passed you my bag, and she took out my wallet, unzip my wallet and pour all the money I have in my wallet. And I'm like, Rebecca, why are you taking all my money? That's all that I have. $60 is all that I have for the month for my food and transport and everything else.(13:36-13:56) And I told myself since you took all my money, I have no money. Right. So I better study hard and make sure I do well in my pageant. Right. So eventually I scored really well, and I won Miss Singapore International in 2006 because of Rebecca's teachings, public speaking, learn how to groom myself. All because I took the first step to commit to my success. Concept of Value Exchange Pushed her to do well in Pageantry(16:24-16:57) I think I never really understood the power of value exchange until much later in life. But definitely, when I looked back, I finally understood why she took that $60. There may be very little to some of you, the listeners, audience who's watching this right now, but for me, it was a lot back in those days. So we talked about the value, the proportion of the value that you have right now in your pocket when you give, whether it's 100 pesos or how much you're giving. It's not how much you give, but how much you have that you're actually giving. Her Message to People who are Struggling. (20:46-21:21) Don't think that you are alone because there's someone else out there. I totally get you. If you have depression and anxiety, it's time and possible for the journey. Just know that someone has gone before you and someone has overcome before you. So be an Overcomer. Learn to Ask for Help don't feel like you're being judged if you ask for help or if I ask for help means I'm weak, means I'm lousy, means I'm no good. But if I hadn't asked for help, I hadn't had friends who gave me that support. I will not be here today and be able to do more with my life. (21:23-21:36)So I want to encourage you to really step out of your comfort zone and really ask for help. Don't feel that someone else is judging you. Always know that there is a brighter, lighter hit at the end of the tunnel.Does and Don'ts in Starting a BusinessDon't be an Automatic Expert on Certain Things.(28:21-28:41) So to really do a cafe business, you need to don't become like a chef, you try to start a restaurant. You hold a camera, you think you're a photographer, you hold an iPhone, you think you're a blogger, you have a website, you think you are a blogger or something like that along the line. So don't think that you know how to be a barista. You can make a cafe. Don't Do Retail Business in this Covid-19 Season(28:50-29:14) I would say in this Covid-19 season, don't really start a retail business anymore. I will recommend you to reinvent the idea into a kiosk and then do takeaways, something that is duplicatable, something that is easy. Similar concept to bubble tea. Do something that is easy for people to take away with. I think that would be a better choice.Get a Franchise(30:21-30:36)If you were to do a cafe, get a franchise, that is the easiest way to get started, even though it could be a little more pricey. But that investment that you put upfront guarantees you that you have a system and process that's proven and you can make money immediately.  (30:49-30:57) Why? Because the brand is really known in the market and it's easy for people to trust you and know that your coffee is good. (31:07-31:13) Other than that, the brand actually has a trust factor involved. So definitely that will work in itself.Build a Team(31:24-31:44) I think one thing that I found success in the cafe business and I've learned is by having a team, we could put our skillset and strengths together and we are not functioning alone. And because we're not alone, we could easily put the processes together and eventually create something that's worthy of selling. How did Genecia Maximize her time?(40:38-41:11) Maximizing my time really means really sticking to my schedule as if I am doing the business as I would do before and after Covid. I think that in itself is a state of mindset where you can't tell yourself, oh, because it's Covid, therefore, I am not going to function the way I am. I'm going to sleep in a little bit more. I'm going to lazy around a little bit more. I mean, you could do exactly just that. But what is your vision? What is your big why? I think that is the question I want to keep reminding myself. (42:31-43:15) When I maximize my time, I want to always keep my vision in mind, keep that idea of why am I doing what I'm doing? Maximizing time also involves using management tools. I would highly recommend you to check Asana. Asana is a project management tool that is super useful. I have a team of 21 in the Philippines and they are all in Davao and I manage them all on my tools via Skype and Asana. And maximizing my time also means delegating 80% of my to-do list to them. So I only do 20% of my to-do list functioning in my zone of genius. Why Delegation is Very Important in Maximizing Time? (48:45-49:35) All you need is just to have $50 for a task that you completely hate to do. Like for example, bookkeeping like, for example, posting on your social media, getting things scheduled and posting things out, things like that can be easily outsourced and delegated for just $50 a week or $50 a month. It doesn't have to be, oh, I have to hire a full-time employee. It can be just a task or two, three tasks bundled together. As long as the person gets things done for you, you can go bit by bit. The two of the biggest mindset blocks for all the entrepreneurs I see, female entrepreneurs alike, is that they have this mindset of I can do better than the virtual assistant, I can do better than my employees.(49:39-49:44)But the thing is you're forgetting that you could maximize and function in your zone of genius.(50:04-50:10) And number two, the other block that a lot of entrepreneurs have is that they need to spend a lot of money to do delegating. Why Investing in Yourself Matters?(54:07-55:17) I will invest in myself, go for a program that will change and transform either my skill set and then also my mindset. I think the skill set is something that I've learned that nobody can take away from me. I started when I was 14 years old, had to support myself through school as yoga, aerobics, and line dancing instructor because I started when I was 14 teaching classes, being able to move a class of 100, to move a group in a Stadium of 1000, that gave me the skill set, to be able to give instructions whether it's in a small group or big group at a very young age. And that was why I was given the opportunity to work with politicians, CEOs and celebrities. Because of that, I had the advantage over other people when I was doing my business when I was an image consultant and doing my business, and I looked at the whole course on its own. So if I were to only have $1,000, I would do the same. Invest in myself, look at the skill set that is the future that people want. Why Action is Needed to Reach Your Goals?(55:26-56:33) One of the greatest swimmers of all time in Singapore, his name is Joseph Schooling. He won an Olympic gold, our very first Singapore Olympic gold just a few years ago. For Joseph Schooling to win an Olympic goal, he had to hire a coach to coach him how to swim in the pool. But did the coach need to jump in the pool to swim? For Joseph Schooling on the day of the Olympics, the answer is no. Joseph Schooling will wake up five to 06:00 a.m. Every single day and swim and worked his ass off to eventually winning the Olympic goals. So even if you invest in yourself to find a skill set that eventually will pay your bills, you must take action to jump into the pool and swim to achieve your Olympic goal. Like Joseph Schooling, the coach and mentor of the course can only guide you through, give you the system, the process that you can take you there because it's proven, but it takes you all your energy, 100% to swim through, to end, to finish line. Why Genecia's Mother is the Greatest Woman for her?(00:59:27-01:00:31) I look at my life now where I am, if not for her, I would not be where I am today. Like, set up pawning her goal to send me for instructor certifications, which I hated her for. Like, why do I need to work at a young age? Why do I need to do this to want to share with you my depression, my committing suicide, going through different relationships in life. And my mom has always been there, even though sometimes as a daughter, we are rebellious, we are running, going through our own course in life. So for me, I think I'm just being human and looking at my mom, I want to honour her. Even up to now, I would say my mom is still the greatest person ever. And I will say whatever I'm doing now is role modelling after her because she's also a leader in the community. She guides other women. She teaches other women how to live a confident, fulfilling, healthy life. And I'm exactly doing the same. Just an online version.Tips to Embrace our Mothers and Honour Them.Philosophy and Principles (01:03:10-01:03:24) I totally disagree with her most of the time. But over the years, I invested myself a lot in personal development, inner healing work. I do so much of that that I realized that choose to be happy, then choose to be right. Embrace her Indifferences.(01:03:29-01:04:09) She has gone through her own journey and education and her life experiences. So when she says certain things about you, about your work, about your life, just let her say because she has gone through her journey to be what she is today, there is definitely a generation difference to where we are now. So just be open-hearted and love her and embrace who she is. And that is one thing, one of the biggest lessons that I've learnt, embracing my mother and our differences. And I no longer think that I need to be right. I always choose to be happy and I just listen to her and just smile and not my head, even though I disagree What drove Her to build the Sole Rich Woman?(01:05:57-01:06:08) I was trapped in the nine to five red race for about a year because I was already making more working part-time and as an instructor. And I decided that I think nine to five isn't for me.(01:06:23-01:06:58) I feel that my life has been called for. So I went into image consultancy because my pageant winning Miss Singapore has really opened doors for me. And getting that specification as an image consultant did help me to pass ways to get to know more. I would say more influential people like your network goes to your net worth. So I think that really has helped me tremendously. But I was trading time for money. By work, I get paid, I work, I get paid, I don't work, I don't get paid. So that in itself I struggled and I was looking for a way out to go from offline to online, to bring my business online. How Mentoring Helps her in Building Soul Rich Woman(01:06:59-01:07:39) And how can I really make my first million? And that was just what I was thinking. I have never made my million before. I gotta do it myself. How can I get there? I invested in a mentor eventually. And his name is James Wee. He's also my partner in the cafe retail chain. He's also now the partner and the man behind So Rich Woman. So, yes, even though I run Soul Rich Woman, I'm the founder, but he's the man behind looking at all the different strategies and how we are charting out the cash flow and all these things. So it's very important. What is the Vision of a Soul Rich Woman?(01:07:40-01:08:22) I went online knowing that I can empower and equip more women to shortcut their success, to own and love the effort, be fabulous, have freedom, financial independence, and above all, family. I don't want women to start going round and round in circles because I feel that there's just so much time wasted when you're just going round and round in circles. There is definitely a way to shortcut your success, to reach your goal in a shorter period of time if you have the right mentor and the right community. Because when a woman changes her life, her entire community benefits. And alone, you are strong. But together we are unstoppable. What is the Most Important Lesson she learned in Life? How will she Influence people through it?(01:09:34-01:10:10) One of the biggest lessons I learned in life is never to give up. And if I were to win Miss Universe, I would actually use this motivational skill set that I have to actually get everyone who's been in touch with me one light at a time to tell them that the sky's the limit and there's no storm that you cannot conquer Never give up only as you're willing to step out of your comfort zone no dream that you cannot achieve in your life because alone we are strong together we are unstoppable. What advice would you give to youngsters? (01:16:46-01:16:51) Believe in yourself. Be confident. Stay true to your soul, to your heart. What advice would you give to people struggling with this Pandemic?(01:21:40-01:21:54) Remember, quit thinking, start doing and never give up on your dreams. Even Covid-19 has happened. Life definitely must go on. Find a mentor and stay connected.(01:22:12-01:22:43) People are having issues, and they feel that they're alone. So don't feel that you're alone. I just want to just call out to you right now if you're feeling alone, just know that we have resources available for you. And as we do this as a nation together to support our front liners in the Philippines, we also would like you to lend your hand, hundred pesos to get started, to make a donation so that we can do more with our effort together because alone we are strong, together we are unstoppable.Key Takeaways:1. It's not how much you give, but how much actually give.2. Be an Overcomer.3. Learn to ask for help.4. Never give up.5. Believe in yourself.Key Resources:Subscribe to Genecia's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/SoulRichWomanVisit SRW's website: https://www.soulrichwoman.comFollow Genecia on Instagram : (@Geneciaalluora)Follow Genecia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/geneciaalluora/Check Genecia's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/genecia/Free Resource: "Soul Why: Soul Rich Woman Blueprint" and "How to Delegate 80% of your to-do list" ---> https://be.soulrichwoman.comSecrets of Manifesting Money Quickly Online Course ---> https://shor.by/moneymindset

Today I'm speaking with Genecia Alluora. Genecia Alluora is a former Miss Singapore turned business coach as the founder of Soul Rich Woman, the #1 female entrepreneur network in Southeast Asia that connects more than 200,000 women across the region in the ‘Soul F' membership program. She mentors thousands of women to bring their business and leadership brand online.    Before establishing her coaching business, Soul Rich Woman, Genecia was an owner of a successful cafe retail chain.   What is incredible about Genecia's story is that as young as 14 years of age, Genecia had to support herself through school where she was often bullied.    Genecia has gone through the highs and lows of being a business owner which we share on this episode. How she went from being in a six-figure debt to becoming a millionaire in 2013, to how this fuelled her passion to support women to do the same - to own the F-word - Freedom in their lives.   We touch on many things in this interview from building a memorable brand online, to being resourceful as you're starting your business, how to handle rejection and No's, the concept of value exchange and why it's important to charge for your work, 2 tips for getting out of debt, how to find a coach or mentor, and how to really define your niche online effectively.   I appreciate Genecia's take on growing her business, as it's certainly different from mine and it's always nice to hear different perspectives. I teach more of a top down approach, starting with high ticket clients so you can earn an income to then create smaller, more affordable programs for the masses, whereas Genecia teaches the other way, a bottom-up approach.   You don't want to miss this interview so buckle in and keep this party going!   Oh but before we dive into this interview, as a reminder, if you are a new and aspiring coach who wants to create a high-impact, soul aligned coaching business and land paid clients in just a matter of 6 weeks or less - DM me now on Instagram and say “COACH”. I will follow up and show you how you can structure your signature coaching offering and land your first paid clients. Ok let's get into this interview! Be sure to let us know if you're listening by posting a screenshot of this episode and tagging us on instagram, Genecia is @@geneciaalluora and I'm at @punchdrunksoul and let us know what you think of this interview!   Aha Moments:   How to build a memorable brand online Why Genecia had to knock on doors to get sponsored for Miss Singapore and what it taught her about business How to handle rejection and No's in your business The concept of value exchange and why it's important to charge for your work 2 tips for getting out of debt that Genecia learned after getting out of 6-figure debt her self How to find a coach or mentor that truly aligns with you What your niche really is and how to define it online effectively   Links: Check out Genecia's website www.soulrichwoman.com Find Genecia on Facebook at Soul Rich Woman or Genecia Alluora Follow Genecia on Instagram at @geneciaalluora or @soulrichwomanasia Follow Genecia on Twitter @geneciaalluora or @soulrichwoman Follow Genecia on LinkedIn at Genecia or Soul Rich Woman Check out Genecia's Pinterest at Genecia Alluora Interested in learning more about Path to Freedom? 102: How To Track Your Income To Create More AbundanceDo you feel like you don't have enough money? Don't have a handle on how much you're going to make or spend? Feel like you're not achieving your financial goals but you're not sure why? Well, I've got some great news for you! I have a very simple daily habit that has completely changed my relationship with money. Not just mine, but as well as in the Soul Rich Woman community. Some women would tell me that, “Genecia, I didn't believe you but I did it and wow you're right!” Stay tuned in this episode if you want to change your money habit! The life-changing habit is tracking your money02:42- 02:54 What's one daily habit? Are you ready? The life-changing habit is tracking your money. Every single dollar and every single cent that comes into your life. 03:57- 03:36 Wait, where are you going? Please don't switch off my podcast now. Don't walk away. I can hear you saying that "Oh my God. You know what, Genecia, I tried it and it didn't work for me." "It's so boring." "I hate accounting." "I have people who do that for me, Genecia." Okay, please wait. This isn't about just doing more accounting. You totally should be doing that anyway and preferably by someone else. I don't care if you enjoy it, outsource that stuff so you can focus on making money, not organizing it.03:38- 03:43 This is an altogether different process. One of mindfully tracking what comes into your life. 03:45- 03:59  Accounting is based on facts, numbers, and figures. Money tracking in the manifesting sense is focused on gratitude, awareness, and increased abundance.04:00- 4:06  Even if you've tried it before – try it again. Try it every day for a month and then let me know. How does tracking change your abundance?04:20- 04:34 Humans are great at making up bullshit stories. Women, in particular, tend to make up stories about our ability and most of all, our deservedness to earn more money.04:35- 04:59 Stories like "I'm broke.",  "I don't have money.", "I'm in debt.", "There's literally no money coming in.",  "No clients.", "Nobody buying my stuff.",  "I guess I'm just not cut out for being in business.", "The Universe doesn't like me, Genecia. I'm not like you.", "I'm not lucky like you.", "I don't have things like you. I'm not a Miss Singapore like you." 5:00- 5:13  Money tracking daily keeps you mindful of what's actually going on in your life, helps you appreciate the abundance around you, and sometimes gets your butt into gear to make more money.05:14- 05:21 Bu you know what, it stops you feeling bad about money and making up stories about your ability to earn money. Feel good about your money6:02- 06:06 When you feel good about your money, you generally start attracting more of it.06:07- 06:17 Have you noticed that it often works in reverse too? When you feel shit about your money, you sometimes manifest unexpected bills, fines, and also debts.“track” and “attract”06:20- 06:24 Isn't it funny that “track” and “attract” sound so similar?06:38- 06:42 I hear this a lot. You start tracking and then suddenly you're finding money everywhere.06:46- 07:17 It's like anything when you train your brain to look for it. Like when you fall in love with a particular car and then you see them everywhere. It's selection bias, it's a well-researched phenomenon. When you're pregnant you keep seeing pregnant ladies everywhere and you keep seeing baby stuff everywhere. Think about that. Make it work in your favor by training your brain to look for opportunities to find and make money. How do you track money the Soul Rich Woman way?1. Track cash07:38 Track your cash. All of it. 07:44- 08:17 In your normal accounting processes, you would track your business and personal income separately. However, when it comes to tracking money for manifesting purposes, you combine them. Why? One of the big mistakes that women make is, what compartmentalizing money or having rules around what's real and what's not. Many women have actually hit their financial goals without even realizing it. Sometimes even for myself, I forget I hit my goals. Like I can bring a hundred thousand dollars in a month. 08:27- 08:42 It might have come from different sources that you wanted it to, but money is still money. You're getting pissed and angry at the Universe for not helping you and the Universe is going like “Hello, lady, you've done it”. The Universe doesn't care about the source.10:28- 10:45 So track all income cash and money. Every single thing, every coin you find. Every source of job income. Every monetary gift. Interest. Free money. Easy money. Cash money. Paypal money. Because money is money. How often should you track your money?11:26- 11:30 Do it daily. Because it's easy to get out of the habit and forget.2. Track anything of value13:05- 13:35 Every time you get something free, track it on your value column. If you can value it, add it. For example, if your friend buys you a coffee or buys you a cheesecake, like what Joanne did. Add the cost of that into your value column. You got an unexpected discount on something you were already buying – add into your value column. You get something for free. Add to your value column.13:56- 14:00 Unfortunately, still for a lot of women, they don't manifest actual money.14:40- 14:52 When you track your value as well as cash, it serves two purposes. Gratitude and reality check.Gratitude14:52- 15:03 When you're feeling broke about not having actual cash, you can feel gratitude for the fact that you still are able to create abundance. It makes you feel lucky and taken care of.Reality check15:06- 15:28 If you're regularly attracting more value than money, then it's a huge reality check to focus on your manifesting. Are you spending more time trying to win competitions or get free stuff or get more sponsorships and barter trading and collaborating, rather than focusing on making actual money in your business?15:30- 15:49 The reality check was a huge one for me. Barter trading, collaborating, getting sponsorships. Once I realized that I was a total superstar at manifesting but I didn't have any actual cash in my bank account, I really have to relook at my actions and what I was actually doing.Key Takeaways: Track every money that comes into your life. Money tracking helps you be mindful. This is not an accounting exercise. This is for manifesting purposes.  Track anything of value. 78: How I Packaged My Skills To Be Seen As The Only Solution For My Clients. What being a Miss Singapore has taught me and given me skills that have helped me grow my brand and business that pays the bills.Hello, gorgeous. Welcome to ‘Soul Why? The secret of Soul Rich Woman Blueprint' and I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Today I want to share with you in this episode what I've learned as a Miss Singapore back in those days. How those experiences developed me today. You have to position yourself04:02 – 04:11 The first thing I did was I really learned how to position myself because you need to know how to position yourself on the International platform.05:35 - 05:43  You must have a way to present yourself that you're consistent. You cannot be a split personality on different platforms.05:50 – 05:58  Be clear and consistent because that establishes trust and that establishes a connection.Being authentic06:39 – 06:45  Being who you are; it's something that you need to master as an individual. Being authentic.09:06 – 09:12  I took two steps, five steps farther and because of that, I found my niche.09:41 – 09:55 Whatever skills that you picked up along the way, they belong to you. And how do you turn all these experiences, your expertise into a package that is truly uniquely your own?Package your skills10:18 – 10:26  What is important is how you package all your skill sets so that you own your own niche.11:25 – 11:54  Using and honing my skills further, I use it in Soul Rich Woman and I turn it into a blueprint. I turn it into a process where anybody, any woman, at any level can use this blueprint. 12:41 – 12:55  Even though I have to work very hard to prove myself along the way, this journey has given me so much exposure, experience, and skills that money cannot buy. Key Takeaways: Learn how to position yourself.  Present yourself consistently.  Be clear and establish connections. Master authenticity. Package your skillset.  Key Resources:Subscribe to Genecia's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/SoulRichWomanVisit SRW's website: https://www.soulrichwoman.comFollow Genecia on Instagram : (@Geneciaalluora)Follow Genecia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/geneciaalluora/Check Genecia's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/genecia/Free Resource: "Soul Why: Soul Rich Woman Blueprint" and "How to Delegate 80% of your to-do list" ---> https://be.soulrichwoman.comSecrets of Manifesting Money Quickly Online Course ---> https://shor.by/moneymindset

58: I tried to hide. The Lies I Told Myself To #PlaySmall. 70kg to 57kg. Only when we shine, we give permission for others to shine.Sharing spotlight is not all about forgetting yourself, letting one's self shine is also giving others permission to shine. Hello gorgeous and welcome to today's episode Soul Why Secrets of the Soul Rich Woman Blueprint. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Today, I want to talk about how I tried to hide myself.02:34- 02:41 When we are leaders, there will be people who are not vibrating at the level that you are vibrating at.  02:57- 03:22 At the earlier stage of Soul Rich Woman, I actually put on a lot of weight. I was nearly 70 kg. I used to be 50 kg. When I was Miss Singapore, I was 50 kg. Then later on when I started a café retail chain, I was 55 and hovering between 57 to 58 kilos. So can you see my weight progression as my age progressed as well? 03:27- 04:08  As I do my café business, of course, my weight increased because I was eating, I mean, of course, no excuses, but I mean, I just want to share with you my side of the story, so don't judge me. Is it OK? You don't judge me. Is it okay you give me permission to say why I want to say? So I hope that through this sharing you can learn something. So I put on weight along the way and one of the things about my biggest concern is that women may think that I'm overshadowing them because I'm tall, I'm slim. If I were to dress up in the way then people will view me differently. I try to hide 04:09- 04:35 So I try to hide. I kind of dress-down even during events. I dressed not the loudest. I dress in a professional manner that kind of like still trying to hide in a certain way. So allowing other women to shine.  So I don't know how I got this warped idea that now I'm looking back at myself laughing. 04:43-05:57 I choose to make myself ugly, to put on weight. Eventually I weigh 70 kilos and really fat round swollen. And of course, it was really to me, OK, acceptable is all right, because as long as other women are happy, I'm happy as long as they are happy. Lo and behold, it happens again during the mentorship. My mentor asked me, "Genecia, are you really happy being fat and being round? And being the way that you are?" I mean, we are having really honest conversations.  And I'm like, "Yeah. As long as other women are happy when we stand together, I'm not the slimmest, I'm not the most beautiful with my blue color hair. I mean, I'm OK." And then my mentor said, "Look at the way you're talking, you're like backstabbing yourself, belittling yourself, playing small, telling yourself the lies that are not true, that ugly is good." And then for a moment, I was stunned. 06:03- 07:15 And I thought about it for a moment, I said, "OK, let me come back to you." I did some reflection, I did some inner work again because probably my mentor noticed something that I didn't see. That's why mentors are super important. And I started looking at myself and reflecting on myself, doing some mirror work as well, and looking in the mirror and asking myself, Do I love myself, how am I doing, really? And digging so much deeper, because it's a psychological thing and it's very deep because sometimes we don't notice, and we are not even aware. And after being aware of it, I realized I wasn't happy being fat and round and overweight. I'm not really overweight and 174 in height, one seven four centimeters, and my weight is 70 kilos. I'm not that overweight, but I just didn't feel good. I felt heavy, my legs were hurting, so I started to reflect on all those things that were happening to me physically and psychologically.  07:16- 08:27 And then aha moment came, oh, I was hiding. I'm just using women as an excuse to just hide myself and not be able to stand in my own light and own my light. Thinking that by "oh, no, I want to let other women shine, so I disguised myself. I hide myself." That is incorrect. Why would I do that? I have no idea. But I did it anyway. Can you imagine we actually can allow ourselves to shine brightly as other women that's around us, there's no need to play small because someone will in order to allow others to shine.  Could you reframe that? Can you restructure that thinking? The answer is yes because when I shine, I give the women permission to shine. When I slim down and embrace my own identity, I give other women permission to shine and embrace their own identity. It was such liberating, that moment of understanding and awareness. 09:36- 10:23  And I'm so much happier and on stage when I share this story of how I overcame my limiting beliefs and how I liberated myself, that by being who I am and owning my light, I was giving others the permission to shine. And one of them, Jane Aisyah Quek, the lady I shared with you that a five to employee turned instant podcast leader she heard my story, and she also decided to embark on her own journey of liberating herself from being the way she was and then slimmed down and therefore being able to shine in her own way, in her own light. 10:26- 11:32  As I share this story, I am laughing at myself and how we cage, we women cage ourselves up, telling ourselves lies and nonsense about how we should, and we should not do in order to let the people around us shine. But you know what? The biggest of it all, the lesson of it all is that only true when you give your permission to shine. That you give others around you the permission to shine. Because alone we are strong, together we are unstoppable. My dear soul rich woman, let me share with you this, there are people less qualified than you doing the things you want to do simply because they decide to believe in themselves, period. So it's time to awaken your mind in time to take the next step. Key Takeaways:1. Go after personal breakthroughs2. Make yourself shine and give permission to other women the permission to shine3. Inspire others through building yourself4. There will be people who are not vibrating at the level that you are vibrating5.
