International Women's Day is a day to recognise how far we've come towards gender equality, and also how far we have left to go. Don't get us wrong - a little over a hundred years ago only a handful of countries allowed women to vote and equal pay for equal work was unheard of. We're making strides in the right direction, but there's still more work to be done. In recognition of IWD we've bought together a panel of women leaders making considerable contributions to their respective organizations in the pursuit of women's empowerment, belonging and relevance. Dr Jessica Jones, Michaela Doelman and Silvia Fraser discuss the importance of investing in women and accelerating progress in this week's episode of the Public Sector Podcast. I was triggered hard during sex, and I wanted to share (after processing) how I navigate a trauma response showing up in my own personal sex life. I've done tons of work on my sexuality - and there are always new ways my body integrates things on deeper levels. Some things I share out of this experience are: understanding what my body needs and how it helps me process triggers or big emotions during sex, shame and guilt associated with sex and feelings during sex, the fear of getting triggered happening again and what we did to navigate that time to have sex. I also shared how the intimacy I created with my body helped me process things much quicker, the complexity of limiting sexual experiences of the past and the most important thing to practice mastery in when it comes to integrating big feelings + hard experiences. Facing 50 can feel scary but exciting too. In this segment, Julia Jack gives us insight into her world, turning 50, women empowerment and F50 Woman movement. See video here - https://youtu.be/R-C4QwTNMig WHO IS JULIA? Julia Su. Jack is the daughter of two warm west Indian parents. She was raised in Connecticut.
