Self-SupportingAt an early age of 14 I have learned to face challenges and took on responsibilities due to life's circumstances.(3:33)“A lot of people thought that when I was Ms. Singapore they think that I was born with a silver spoon. But it did not start that way I had to support myself through school since I was 14 years old, teaching Yoga, aerobics and line dancing through my school years so I put myself through college I put myself through university so it was really tough.” Financial CrisisDue to a financial crisis, I had to step up and think of ways to support myself and my family. I had to do sacrifices to make it through in life.(4:06)“At that time my dad lost everything due to the financial crisis. (4:20) Because of that I had to come up and do my own stuff and I think that has really molded me through my years and then after that I became an occupational therapist. (4:53) Back then I was the youngest instructor in Singapore and then I went on to do classes but it was not easy because when I'm seeing other girls doing things in their free time they are going to the movie, going for shopping and then I'm working after school.” Empowering WomenWhat I experienced during my teenage years gave me a better perspective on influence and how it can be used to empower others.(5:47) “I've come along way with my experiences, now it's time to share and shortcut other woman's journey and empower others because empowered women empower others.(6:45) After that I took on these skills, I went on to coach and mentor many women to transform their confidence from being ugly duckling to be more confident and become the better version of themselves.” The motivation to changeAs I moved up the ladder and gained success, I realized I needed more freedom and not be bound by time and money.(6:56)“Because I went through that transformation myself too. That movement actually gave me the confidence to do more in my life. In 2012-2013 I told myself I'm no longer going to trade time for money because as an image consultant you work you get paid when you stop working you don't get paid. So I said I want to move this online.” Process of growthYou need to expand and broaden your horizons to progress in life. You need to invest in yourself too.(7:21) “So I went through a process seeking mentors, looking for coaches to coach me on the process spent hundreds and thousands of dollars looking for resources to grow my knowledge. (7:38)I worked my way up then I took my vision of helping more women to be more confident and then I started a platform called “You are possible academy” because I launched my own book in 2013, it's about personal branding then after that I went online.” A heart for womenDespite the success that I attained there was still something missing, I felt like I wasn't where I was supposed to be.(8:25) “During this whole period my heart has always been with the women even though I was doing the retail business. It was tough, because there was a calling at the back of my head like “Genecia you gotta do this” you can't just give up the women and just do a coffee retail chain. Move up and do more.” Stepping stone (11:15) “You know back then, I was bullied I was really bullied by mean girls in school. You know I was poor, I really didn't have any money to change my bag or even to change my clothes besides my school clothes.”I faced the roadblocks in my life. From adjusting to our family's financial situation to being bullied at school and doing jobs while studying. These situations could have hindered me, but instead of viewing them as stumbling blocks I used them as stepping stones to reaching my dreams. Key Takeaways: Success is not determined by financial status. Life's changes should not stop you from pursuing your dreams. Keep learning, keep growing. Do not give up on what you are most passionate about. Roadblocks are stepping stones. I hope you enjoyed these episodes.[00:02:23]Speaker 3: Welcome to this week's episode of Women Empower. Today, I have Ms. Genecia Alluora. She is Woman Empower Singapore. She has won Miss Singapore and Miss Singapore International. She represents Singapore not only once, but twice. Who does that? This woman, that's who. She also founded and is the creator of Soul Rich Woman Asia. And she connects about 200,000 plus women in the entrepreneurial space and really educates and elevates and motivates women to represent themselves at the highest level. So, without further ado, thank you so much for being on the show. It is such an honor and a pleasure to meet you.[00:03:12]Speaker 4: Thank you for having me on your show.[00:03:14]Speaker 3: It is wonderful to have you. So, okay, bring me back so my audience can understand. Have you always just been this successful go getter type woman or was this something you developed? How were you raised?[00:03:30]Speaker 4: Well, a little bit of my back story. A lot of people thought that when I was Miss Singapore, they think that I'm born with a silver spoon.[00:03:38]Speaker 3: That's what everyone would think. Looking at you, you looked so beautiful and so together and so intelligent. It's like, okay.[00:03:45]Speaker 4: Well, it didn't start that way. I had to support myself through school since I was 14 years old, teaching yoga, aerobics and line dancing through my school years. So I put myself through college. I put myself through University. So it was really tough.[00:04:01]Speaker 3: So why did you have to support yourself at 14 most?[00:04:05]Speaker 4: Well, at that time, my dad lost everything due to the financial crisis.[00:04:10]Speaker 3: Was this in 2008?[00:04:13]Speaker 4: Way back more.[00:04:15]Speaker 3: Way back more. Okay, well, you're way young to me.[00:04:17]Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah. And because of that, I had to come out and do my own stuff. And I think that has really molded me through my years. And then after that, I became an occupational therapist.[00:04:31]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:04:32]Speaker 4: Yes.[00:04:32]Speaker 3: So at 14, when the crash happened, your father lost everything. Did he say you have to go to work or was this now an initiative that you took on your own?[00:04:42]Speaker 4: My mom kicked my ass. She pawned her gold, her jewelry to give me the money to do the certification as an instructor. So back then, I was the youngest instructor in Singapore, and then I went on to do classes. But it was not easy because when I'm seeing other girls doing things in their free time, they are going to the movies, going for shopping, and then I'm working after school. So can you imagine waking up 05:00 a.m. in the morning to go to school?[00:05:12]Speaker 3: Not at 14.[00:05:13]Speaker 4: And then 12:00 p.m. 1, you finish class after that project work, you finish about 4, and after that I rest for about an hour, take a quick nap, and I rush for classes back to back from 07:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Wow. And by the time I reach home, I'm really exhausted. And that went on for many years.[00:05:34]Speaker 3: So that's what I call the sacrifice phase, which you probably didn't appreciate at the time. [00:05:38]Oh, I totally hated it. [00:05:40]You hated sacrifice phase. Are you now glad that you did sacrifice phase?[00:05:45]Speaker 4: Yes, definitely. Because I've come a long way and I have experiences. Now, it's time to share and shortcut other women's journey and empower others. Because empowered women empower others.[00:05:59]Speaker 5: Right. And so, when you finally got to this point in your life where you feel like, was it just an urge? Where you felt like, now it's my responsibility to help fast track other women, what point was that? Was it like a certain amount of money you made? Or when were you like, okay, I now know how to take care of myself, I want to branch out and help others now.[00:06:23]Speaker 4: In 2006, I won miss Singapore and I became an image consultant. And that because of my experience teaching and training and coaching. Having the extra skill set was quite easy for me to move forward. My clientele grew. They were CEOs of companies, directors of companies, as well as politicians here in Singapore. After that, I took on this skill and I went on to coach and mentor many women to transform their confidence from being an ugly duckling to a more confident version of themselves. So because I went through that transformation myself too, that movement actually gave me the confidence to do more in my life. In 2012, 2013, I told myself, I'm no longer going to trade time for money. Because as an image consultant, you work, you get paid. You work, you get paid, you work, you get paid. When you stop working, you don't get paid. So I said, you know what? I want to move this online. How can I go online? So I went through a process seeking mentors, looking for coaches to coach me on the process. Spent hundreds and thousands of dollars looking for resources to grow my knowledge.[00:07:31]Speaker 3: So you invested on yourself?[00:07:33]I invested in myself. [00:07:34]How did you have hundred and thousand of dollars?[00:07:36]I saved over the years.[00:07:37]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:07:37]Speaker 4: I worked my way up, and then from there, I took my vision of helping more women to be more confident. And then I started a platform called you are Possible Academy because I launched my own book in 2013. It's about personal branding. Then after that, I went to I went online. Right. That's when I make my first pot of gold.[00:08:01]Speaker 5: Wow. The first pot of gold[00:08:02]Speaker 4: Across my first pot of gold was when I make my first million dollars.[00:08:08]Speaker 3: Wow.[00:08:08]Speaker 4: And then I invested and started a cafe retail chain. We were in three countries singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia.[00:08:17]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:08:18]Speaker 4: And then we had seven outlets. We exited to a public listed company owner just recently.[00:08:24]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:08:24]Speaker 4: During this whole period, my heart has always been with the women. Even though I was doing retail business and it was tough, and I was called to this it's just like calling the back of my head. It's like, Genecia, you got to do you got to do this. You can't just give up the women and just do a cafe retail chain. You got to move up and do more. So during the time I was based in Indonesia for two years, running the caffe retail chain with my franchisee. I do online. I did webinars, I did online programs. I launched my membership program.[00:08:59]Speaker 3: Are you confident the whole time? Are you scared, like the first webinar you did or you're like, is this going to be a disaster? Do you ever have self doubt or is it just you just go in positive the whole way?[00:09:10]Speaker 4: It was tough because you didn't know how many audience were there. In fact, when I first switched on my webcam and used Google Hangouts back in 2013, there was zero viewers. You know.[00:09:20]I love that. [00:09:22]And it grew from one to ten and then to the first hundred. And that's how You Are Possible Academy grew. Subsequently, the women.[00:09:30]Speaker 3: How long did it take to grow?[00:09:31]Speaker 4: About three years. And I did about 1000 webinars probably every week. I did one every week. Wednesday at 09:00 p.m..[00:09:41]Speaker 3: They're free webinars.[00:09:42]Speaker 4: Free webinars.[00:09:43]Speaker 3: How would you think about the branding?[00:09:45]Speaker 4: Branding. How do you do funnels, marketing, automation? How do you become more confident?[00:09:50]Speaker 3: How long are they?[00:09:52]Speaker 4: By an hour.[00:09:53]Speaker 5: Good. Eleven.[00:09:54]Speaker 4: Okay. And then I kind of moved all these things online, and the women started to come in, and then they said, Genecia, can you not put your possible academy? Because Singapore's education system has so tuned us to, like, in school. So the women in my community feedback to me and said, Genecia, you got to choose a better name.[00:10:14]Speaker 3: No, they're not like, impossible.[00:10:17]Speaker 4: They don't like the name academy. They want something a little bit more, like, with depth and, like, with the inner academy.[00:10:24]Speaker 3: They don't like academy.[00:10:25]Speaker 4: They do like academy. I said, okay, let's do a rebranding. So in 2015, I did a rebranding. It's called Soul Rich Woman because all women have a soul. It's rich, wealthy, and we shine when we have confidence from within. So Soul Rich Woman.[00:10:41]Speaker 3: Okay, love this so far. If you said you went through the transformation yourself, were you an ugly duckling?[00:10:51]Speaker 5: No.[00:10:52]Speaker 4: Yeah, I was.[00:10:53]Speaker 3: Okay, so how does an ugly duckling, which is very difficult for me to buy, by the way, but I'm going to I'm going to buy because I have no reason to believe it would lie to me. But how does an ugly duckling go to Miss Singapore and Miss Singapore International. How did you even know you had it within you in the first place?[00:11:14]Speaker 4: You knew back then, I was bullied. I was really bullied by mean girls in school.[00:11:19]Speaker 3: Wow.[00:11:19]Speaker 4: You know, I was poor. I really didn't have any money to change my bags or even to change my clothes because I had the school clothes. So the mean girls would come to me, you know, PE lessons, what we call physical activities. They will pull my shirt, and then you'll pool open, and then they will see my bra, and they're like, oh, you're wearing the same bra again, like that. And there were times they took my school bag, and then he threw it across the classroom floor, and my books will be all over the floor, and you're like that. So myself. And things took a dip. But you see, I started when I was 14, and I told myself that whatever my family situation, maybe I'm not going to give up.[00:12:01]Speaker 5: Right?[00:12:02]Speaker 4: Yeah. So I took on.[00:12:06]Speaker 3: Did you feel that is the fuel to become determined to make it?[00:12:10]Speaker 4: I knock on doors and say, would you be willing to coach me in my public speaking? I knock on doors. Would you be open to willing to coach me on my image? Would you be willing to train me to walk and have good department? And that was when all these people, what they call the guardians, and people who really helped me and coached me, mentored me to become Miss Singapore.[00:12:34]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:12:34]Speaker 3: And what did that feel like, being crowned Miss Singapore?[00:12:39]Speaker 4: It was life changing, really, once in a lifetime opportunity, because for someone like me, it was a way out. And definitely it allowed me to travel the world. Since then, I've traveled more than what, 10-20 countries, 50 cities because of my title, Miss Singapore. It has given me so much privilege.[00:13:01]Speaker 3: Do people know who you are when you walk on the street?[00:13:04]Speaker 4: Yes. During that time, yes. But now, because I've taken a backseat, more focused on developing the platform Soul Rich Woman, so not so much in the front light, but fronting more on the business lines.[00:13:16]Speaker 3: So when you were crowned Miss Singapore knowing that you had been bullied, that you're the girl that has to go and chase your books around, how do you now wear this crown and now transition from feeling a certain way as that girl to now all of a sudden, people think that you're just that new girl, that new image. Don't you still have the same insecurities as the previous girl? And then what do you do? How do you transition into that life? You just kind of acknowledge them and move forward anyway.[00:13:48]Speaker 4: I'm very blessed to be Miss Singapore. Really, doors open for me, there were transformational causes that changed my life. I invested in myself, went for many, many different courses. In fact, in 2007, I went to Taiwan for a year and took on multiple transformational healing courses to let go of my past, my anger, my hatred, whatever, feelings that all women sometimes have a tendency to hold and play again, like a broken record. So I stopped completely on that, and my life completely flew from there. So it was kind of like a stepping stone.[00:14:28]Speaker 3: Do you feel like or maybe you don't even think about this question, but do you think Asian women have the same advantages as the Western society, culture, Americans, Europeans? Or do you think we're equal, or one has more than the other?[00:14:46]Speaker 4: I believe all women have the same rights, they have same opportunities, same things that have been given to us. However, at the end of the day, Asia is a different animal. We have Vietnam, we are in Malaysia, just race alone. We have different races, and in different races, we have different culture and dialects. And that different permutations because Soul Rich Woman is in Southeast Asia. We're in seven countries, and we're connecting almost 200,000 women across this region. And just alone when we travel to different countries, we have to be a little bit different because women at different phase of their life. Say, for example, when we went to Vietnam in Hanoi, the women in Hanoi versus women in Ho Chi Min are quite different. Women in Hanoi are a little bit more, they told me that they were stigmatized if they were to give up their jobs and go into entrepreneurship. Soul Rich Woman first went to Hanoi in Vietnam, we made a mistake. We didn't know. We were like, oh, you must do a business, have a side hustle. Let's build your empire.[00:15:54]Speaker 3: Right, right.[00:15:55]Speaker 4: And then they said, oh, no, but Genecia, this is not the culture here. Hanoi and Ho Chi Min are two different breeds of women.[00:16:02]Speaker 5: Wow.[00:16:02]Speaker 4: So that's when we learned, we said, oh, then what do you girls need? They say, we need more confidence in our daily lives to stand up for ourselves, to own our power, not just being a housewife and being a working person, but really be able to chase our dreams. That has been swept under the carpet for a very long time. So that was what we did in Hanoi. So that is why in different countries we do different things. Like in Malaysia, women are sighted for two main reasons why they are not able to step out because fear of failure and lack of support from family members. So that's why communities are so important. And that's why in Malaysia, we are also very strong. We have about 500 or 10 members over there. Wow. Supporting each other on your entrepreneurship journey.[00:16:51]Speaker 3: So what do you tell the woman who's struggling maybe with a cultural issue they want to step out, but they're not supported by their family and they don't have the confidence yet to do it, despite of or maybe they don't want to do it because they don't want to lose the respect or that's a toughy situation.[00:17:13]Speaker 4: Really tough.[00:17:14]Speaker 3: Did they come to you for advice? And if they do, what do you tell these women?[00:17:18]Speaker 4: So these women needed more confidence in looking at their dreams and finding the time to love themselves most. Because I find that the key to success for all women is self love. Only when you are able to love yourself, that's when you can give. But most women are empty vessels because they give their kids, they give their husbands, they give to household chores, they give to everything else but forgetting the self love is they key.[00:17:45]Speaker 3: And if they did that first, there would be more for the other.[00:17:48]Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. Their cup is so full and overflowing.[00:17:52]Speaker 3: Yeah.[00:17:53]Speaker 5: Oh wow. That's awesome.[00:17:56]Speaker 3: And this Soul Rich Woman, what's your proudest success story that's come out of that? Do women tell you that she came from blah blah, blah and then went to what's a good transformational story that really said, I'm on the right path with this.[00:18:16]Speaker 5: Wow. I have heard hundreds of stories.[00:18:16]Speaker 4: That make it all worth it, right?[00:18:21]Speaker 5: Yeah.[00:18:22]Speaker 4: I think a lot of the women, the main thing amongst all female entrepreneurs, the key thing is always about the C word, which is confidence. But most importantly is the F word.[00:18:35]Speaker 3: The F word. I couldn't wait to talk to you about the F word. She has the F word. You want to tell them what it is?[00:18:42]Speaker 4: Yes. For women who love the F word, being fabulous, having freedom and financial independence.[00:18:50]Speaker 3: Okay, but first of all, does the F word translate as it does in America?[00:18:57]Speaker 4: We have the F word here.[00:18:58]Speaker 3: I say the F word.[00:19:02]Speaker 4: Just joking. But definitely for us, when I talk about the F word, why, I talk about financial independence and not financial freedom. Because the difference is financial freedom. Of course, you are free to do everyone, probably you have passive income. But for a lot of women, when you're first starting out, how do you even first make a dollar? How do you first even make a first thousand dollars if you're a stay at home mom?[00:19:27]Speaker 5: Right.[00:19:28]Speaker 4: How are you balance that?[00:19:30]Speaker 3: If you hadn't had education, you don't know what you want to do. You don't know what you're good at.[00:19:34]Speaker 4: Yeah, precisely. So you have to start somewhere. So if you are able to earn a $1,000 every single month, passively or online, through online businesses, can you imagine what life will change? You could buy the extra dress for your daughter.[00:19:48]Speaker 3: And is this financial freedom?[00:19:50]Speaker 4: This is more financial independence. That's why I said we want to focus on helping women to be more financially independent. They could be receiving some money from their husbands, that's fine. But could they do something more for themselves? And because of that extra money that they have on hand, they could be more independent to make choices for themselves.[00:20:09]Speaker 3: So let me ask you this. If they go for the financial independence and let's say they have the side job, they're selling makeup on the side online, but they're not neglecting any of their responsibilities as a wife, a mother, or whatever they agreed upon. So this income, does it go to the household or should it be hers or does that not matter? Separate or together?[00:20:32]Speaker 4: And it will be her decision. But what I usually see is women usually keep it and hold it for emergency or things that they are always wanted to do. You see, we women must have a voice.[00:20:44]Speaker 3: I'm the same way. I have our money and then I have my money.[00:20:48]Speaker 4: My money.[00:20:48]Speaker 3: But he has no problem with us having our money, and he has no problem with me having my money. And I love that. I feel really blessed in that area. I'm like, thank you. I don't know what it is in my brain that needs my little thing.[00:21:02]Speaker 4: Yeah. Because we need to make our own choices. And that's when we feel like we have a choice to choose whether we want to give you the money or we give our family the money or I give my own dreams the money.[00:21:14]Speaker 3: To reinvest in yourself. Because when I've heard you say a number of times in this interview.[00:21:19]Speaker 4: Yes. In fact, finding a mentor is why we created Soul Rich Woman was to help women to go from offline to online to be more confident and more customers make a positive impact in the world. If you can't even have a say in what you want to do and be always a victim of your own circumstances, then I'm here to kick some ass, you know, and really to get out of your comfort zone and go towards the dreams that you always wanted to achieve. So that is why being fabulous, having freedom and financial independence is so important.[00:21:57]Speaker 3: Yes. And this is what's brought you kind of, like, alive. I see it in you. It's your passion. And you want this for other women. [00:22:03]Speaker 4: Yeah, I do, too. [00:22:05]Speaker 3: I feel like happy, empowered women or that have the confidence in themselves, they have no need to try to destroy another woman, try to throw their books across the hall, because that came from something. Those girls have a problem. A happy woman or girl does not treat other people like that. You know what I'm saying? So it's like the more that a woman can help herself and find her own confidence, the more she just wants to help and love and nurture other people. I believe it's innately in us.[00:22:37]Speaker 4: That's right. Yeah, that's very true. In fact, I really believe that alone you are strong, together we are unstoppable.[00:22:46]Speaker 3: I say the same thing in this book, build an empire. I say I was raised to believe that I had to do everything by myself. Like, I had to be Miss Independent. Miss Independent. And I tried so hard, and I could only get, like, this far. And it just so happened that when I got together with my husband and that I actually started to depend on somebody else and trust somebody else, and then from there, we added to the team and grew. And now we have staff and people that help us and build. But there is no you're doing it on your own. No empire has ever been built on your own. It takes a team. It takes a village.[00:23:23]Speaker 4: Yes. When a woman is empowered, the whole village benefits.[00:23:26]Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree with that. Because she wants the best for everyone.[00:23:29]Speaker 5: That's right.[00:23:29]Speaker 3: Because she knows ultimately it's going to benefit herself and everyone involved.[00:23:34]Speaker 4: Yes. So when we empower one, we touch a life that one will pass on to the other. So we actually have a mentoring program for girls under 30. So this we actually have cash sponsorships from different women who are more wealth to do. So, they gave us their cash sponsorships, and they gave us so we fund this entire program in Singapore, where we help underprivileged girls, where they don't have those opportunities to learn skills beyond education, which is just the books and the four walls in school.[00:24:05]Speaker 3: Kind of like you.[00:24:06]Speaker 4: Yes. And then help them to give them an opportunity to because not everybody can be Miss Singapore let's put it this way. Can we give them a skill? Because when you give them a skill everyone can be an entrepreneur.[00:24:14]Speaker 3: Because everyone can be an entrepreneur.[00:24:17]Speaker 4: Everyone can be an entrepreneur.[00:24:18]Speaker 3: I believe I do, too.[00:24:19]Speaker 4: Yeah. So, through this program, we want to equip this girl's skill so they can start early. Why do you have to wait till you graduate?[00:24:29]Speaker 3: Why do you have to wait till you went through the whole decade or whatever it wants to figure it out. You figured it out. Here the here's the don't let you go.[00:24:37]Speaker 4: Why do you have to wait until you get married and have kids and then after a failed marriage, and then you come to me and then you say, Genecia, I need help. Why do you have to go through that? Can we shorten it?[00:24:47]Speaker 3: Yes. That's what I wrote this book for. I want to fast track the process .[00:24:51]Speaker 4: Precisely.[00:24:53]Speaker 3: Yes. So can you tell my viewers, can my viewers in America join Soul Rich Woman?[00:24:57]Speaker 4: Yes, you can help. So we definitely need help here in Southeast Asia. We need time, we need resources, and we also need cash, sponsorships. So time, if you are a volunteer, you can volunteer, with us to be let's say you have a skill that you want to share as an entrepreneur. You want to teach funnels. You want to teach how to overcome their mindset. We welcome you if you have resources, like a venue. So we work with people like Facebook, Mercedes-Benz. These are like partners who give us their resources so that we can bring the community together. And that makes a lot of difference.[00:25:30]Speaker 5: Right?[00:25:30]Speaker 4: So venue, if you have resources, like. A jet, for example.[00:25:32]Speaker 3:Girls we've done that.[00:25:36]Speaker 4: Girls who are underprivileged have never had a chance to do all these things. Right? And then if you have cash and money to help us as well, to fund the project to give girls because we want to buy them good things, we want to support the program, we want to give some trainers who help us pro bonu fees, right? We can't expect everyone to do for free because there is some sustainability within the platform itself. Right? So, yes, I took up my part of goal, which is my cafe retail chain. We exited a public listed company. I took out all my money and invested into the platform. So it has to succeed.[00:26:12]Speaker 3: It will succeed.[00:26:14]Speaker 4: There's no other option. It's like the way and the only way.[00:26:17]Speaker 3: And where can people like, if someone wanted to say, okay, I have $100, I have $1,000, I have 10,000, how do they reach you? Or how do they offer their time or their service?[00:26:27]Speaker 4: You can go to be.soulrichwann.com, which is b,e, dot, soulrichwoman. S-O-U-L-R-I-C-H-W-O-M-A-N Woman. Yeah .com.[00:26:41]Speaker 3: Okay. That's awesome. Okay, so before we wrap up, on our last note, what would be a 14 year old self if you had one piece of advice for her? When that backpack went across the wall, the books went and you just I'm sure you probably had a lump in your throat trying to hold back tears, what would you have told that you are now? What would you have told that little girl.[00:27:06]Speaker 4: Your past that's not equal to your future?[00:27:11]Speaker 3: Wow, that's heavy. All these women of the world made me so emotional. I've never cried on Women in Power before. I interviewed this woman last week in Dubai and she made me cry. And now you make me cry. You're so amazing. I cannot thank you enough for coming on this show. You made me cry to exposing this part of the world. And it's so amazing to me. That what I'm finding on my journey around the globe and meeting the women of the world, that we all want the same thing. We all want to help each other, not only ourselves, men as well. But we focus on ourselves for now. Yes. And we all want to make a difference and we all just want to be loved, be taken care of, take care of others. And it's really beautiful. It doesn't matter what culture you are, what religion, what culture.[00:28:05]Speaker 4: Yes.[00:28:05]Speaker 3: We all want the same thing.[00:28:06]Speaker 4: We all want the same thing. We want to be heard. We want our voices to be heard. We want to be seen. We want to be recognized.[00:28:14]Speaker 3: Yes. Thank you so much for being on the show.[00:28:17]Speaker 4: Thank you.[00:28:17]Speaker 3: You are such a beautiful soul. This is a Soul Rich Woman. Thank you so much. 144: 7 SIGNS YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOUR MINDSET[00:00:06]Speaker 1: Hey gorgeous, and welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Now, today I want to share the seven signs you need to work on your mindset. Now, when it comes to money, sooner or later there will be a wake-up call that happens for each of us.[00:00:25]Speaker 1: Maybe the last year has been a massive wake-up call for you. Your business might have to change completely because you realize that your old ways of marketing don't work anymore. Or maybe you've decided that life is too short to do the work that doesn't lock you up anymore. Often a bad client experience can be the wake-up call you need. There comes a time in every entrepreneur's life when you feel like throwing in the towel, giving up.[00:00:56]Speaker 1: After all, when you start a business, nobody really tells you how much is going to mess up with your confidence. Now, I just want to say this. You might have had all these moments yourself. Do you ever feel like there is an invisible glass ceiling holding you back from success? Maybe you've been stuck at a particular income level for years.[00:01:22]Speaker 1: Maybe you're telling yourself that you're too busy right now or the money isn't that important to you. Maybe you have conflicting feelings about wealth, worried that maybe it's not for you or that you have something to do something or you have to do something outside of your values to really make money or truly make enough money. If you are doing all that you can but still not making the financial breakthroughs, you know they are within your reach. It's time to do something different. You need a money reset.[00:02:00]Speaker 1: Now, if you are undercharging in your business, you feel like you're pushing against the flow of money and can't figure out why it's so hard, I've got some answers for you that might just crack the code. I'm Genecia Alluora, founder of the number one female entrepreneur network here in Southeast Asia and also a money mindset coach. I also created the Soul Rich Women Blueprint that has helped thousands and tens of thousands of women to go breakthrough and own and love their F-word, being fabulous, having freedom, financial independence, and a happy family. I did not grow up with a good relationship to money and yet I've created millions of dollars in business revenue working to my strengths and also wrote books, personal development books. And all I can say is we all can have it all.[00:03:06]Speaker 1: So if you think you might need to get another certificate or lose another ten kilos or somehow magically become the perfect you before you can make money, I'm here to tell you that that is bullshit. Now, I have the seven signs for you that money mindset is actually the next crucial step. If any of these seven reasons are true for you, then you'll love to work with me further. Now, reason one, you know it's your time. Finally this year you set big goals, thinking that this will be the year that your dreams come true.[00:03:47]Speaker 1: You might even have a book that is sitting on your computer 90% done or program or course that's ready to launch. But something's just stopping you. Every day you wake up and you think now it's the time, now it's the right time. But the moment your income doesn't match up with your intelligence or with your degree or potential and the gifts you offer up to the world, you are tired. And you are tired of waiting for someone else to choose you, or you deem that you are ready to earn more.[00:04:26]Speaker 1: I'm sure you're frustrated in yourself that you haven't done it yet. But maybe today is the day and you know that it's now or never. And I see that for you. And I'm here to help you to make it come true. Reason two, you love personal development, but the money hasn't shown up yet.[00:04:50]Speaker 1: Well, you could be feeling like a fraud or flaky person right now, because you're doing everything that's right, but it's just not working. I bet you have a dream board, a vision board, or you journal your goals regularly and you are a very positive person. You probably read every book that talks about making money, abundance under the sun. But you feel like there's still a missing puzzle piece. It feels unfair.[00:05:24]Speaker 1: If you're honest with yourself, you know that you've been sabotaging money behaviors that is working against you, but you can't really change them. Well, that's really normal. Reason three, you don't earn what you're worth and you suspect that you're worth a lot more. The charge what you are worthing gets a really bad reputation, especially when we talk about it here in Soul Rich Woman, you need to charge your worth. [00:05:53]Speaker 1: Do less about the training, there should be a boundary. But you know, it really gets a bad reputation when we talk about these things. It's because women don't see that they are worth the amount and they're always using the excuse or that sentence. Women should just help women. Why should I charge or get someone to pay me for my products or services?[00:06:21]Speaker 1: OK? I mean, you can't put a price tag on yourself as a human being, you are priceless. But guess what? Your business isn't. You actually have to name a price.[00:06:36]Speaker 1: Every day I meet people. I meet women who are simply undercharging. They are doing pro bono work all the time. They are struggling to survive. Or even if they are well to do, they are not able to scale their business to the next level.[00:06:58]Speaker 1: They know it, but they feel powerless to do anything about it. You might know it too, but you're still getting feedback that you are too expensive. Why should you charge when you're helping other people? You should be doing for free, you should be doing cheaper. And even when you know that you are drastically undercharging.[00:07:21]Speaker 1: And that's usually the problem. When you undercharge, you energetically attract clients who will never be happy, who are usually complainers, and people who will step on you to go to the next step or face. And that's really so frustrating. Reason four, you want to live a first class, amazing life, but you're stuck in the rut. You're stuck in your cupboard.[00:07:53]Speaker 1: I mean, I've been there and it sucks. You are sick of compromising areas in your life, like where you stay, what you eat, how you are treating your family, because we're talking about owning and loving the F-word. So being fabulous, freedom, financial independence and a happy family. So you're kind of sick of compromising all these four F-words in your life. Where you live, how you dress or how you travel.[00:08:21]Speaker 1: It's exhausting, super tiring to have to justify every single dollar, every single cent. Think about it. Wouldn't it be nice and cool to have a peace of mind that you can always make more money? You're seeing other women rapidly increasing their income and you are kind of jealous. Yes, don't look left, look right.[00:08:46]Speaker 1: Yes, I'm speaking to you right now. Sometimes you're kind of jealous that it's not you. All right, it's okay to admit it. Reason number five, you already know that you need a money mindset makeover. Maybe this isn't the first time you've checked out my work or listened to my podcast or been to my website or seen my landing pages of my programs.[00:09:18]Speaker 1: You might even have gone through situations when you think, I've got to sort this out. For example, when you start to perspire, when you talk to an accountant or anyone official or officially about money. Or you sit and procrastinate, like sending out invoices. People send me their confessions all the time and say that they are so scared about money, in particular, talking about it and asking for it. You might even think you are really bad with money.[00:09:52]Speaker 1: But I've never met anyone whom I have not helped or I can't help. You'll be surprised about how practical money manifesting can be. And it's not about lighting a candle under the full moon and just making wishes. It's about taking a practical inventory of your past experiences and examining it with all your beliefs and habits around money. Reason six, you feel like you repel money.[00:10:23]Speaker 1: Maybe you have a real feast or feminine relationship to money. You know how to manifest money quickly when you really need to. But it's not predictable or it comes at a great personal cost. Like, for example, you're really stressed out or burnout. When you have a good month, you often attract unexpected bills or fines that will wipe it all out.[00:10:48]Speaker 1: So you're always going like two steps forward and one steps back. Ten steps forward and three steps back. And that can be so frustrating. Reason number seven, you want to make more money, but you're also scared some people are surprised to learn that even millionaires are scared. Making more money doesn't make the fear go away.[00:11:15]Speaker 1: Same for me. Even at the stage where I'm at, making money is scary sometimes. Now, for example, you could be scared by your own personal potential because of your vision for your life is huge. You sometimes worry about what it would mean to be truly wealthy, that somehow it would turn into a negative experience. Or you would sabotage it in some way.[00:11:43]Speaker 1: Or you are worried that some history of ghost or past souls of people will come back and ask you for money. Or you're worried about your parents who ask you for money. You're worried about your relatives coming to ask you for money. If you are rich, you worry about tax bills because you worry about getting into trouble. You worry about losing your privacy or safety.[00:12:10]Speaker 1: You worry you get scammed. You worry about friends and family asking you for more money. You worry that it's actually going to be a huge negative experience. And you can see where I'm going. This is really common.[00:12:27]Speaker 1: And you can see these conflicting things and how much they could be holding you back. Okay, so that's the seven pretty big signs that you need to work on your money mindset. How much money do you think you have left on the table because of your money blocks? Maybe your wake-up call this year is that there's no time like the present to make your dreams come true. If you are still listening, it's pretty obvious that you have money blocks that you need to deal with.[00:12:59]Speaker 1: Everyone has their own flavor of money blocks and I'm here to help you identify yours and clear it. I've created a free masterclass to help you start clearing your money blocks and limiting beliefs and those sabotaging patterns. But it all starts with your awareness. Once you know your block, you then can stop sabotaging behaviors, that you can stop them, that they will not come to haunt you, and then you can move on to the next level.[00:14:12]Speaker 1: That's when you can make money no matter what. 142: 5 TIPS TO GET THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS WITHOUT TRIGGERING YOUR MONEY BLOCKS (TOO MUCH)[00:00:05]Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. And welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Today I want to share with you the five tips to get through the holidays without triggering your money blocks. Or triggering too much of your money blocks. Now we're talking about five things you can do to make sure your money blocks aren't traded too much over the holiday period.[00:00:28]Speaker 1: Now. This is the time of the year that can get very stressful for some people. But it doesn't have to because we are Soul Rich Woman. Now, I've got really some great tips for you today.[00:00:40]Speaker 1: The first thing I want to acknowledge is that holiday time can be really exciting for some people. And for others, it can be really stressful or even sad. So don't beat yourself up over it. Either way, especially for this year. It can be a triggering experience to spend time with your family and loved ones over this holiday season. Particularly if you have been spending a lot of time working on your personal development and money blocks, you still might be quite vulnerable to other people's energies.[00:01:12]Speaker 1: Now, here are some tips to get through the holiday period without triggering your money blocks too much. Number one, has a canned response. Now, this tip number one is a go to response when your family asks you about potentially triggering topics. This can really apply to questions about your business, so it pays to be prepared ahead of time. Now, you might have someone in your family who constantly ask you a how's your business doing right now?[00:01:43]Speaker 1: Or what are you doing for business again? Or you mean you change another business? Are you qualified to even do this? And they make you feel like shit. Here's the thing.[00:01:57]Speaker 1: You don't have to tell them about the ins and out of your business. You don't have to tell them how many clients you have, how much they pay you. You don't have to tell them anything if you don't want to. Here's a really simple go to response. It can be something like, hey, it's doing great.[00:02:18]Speaker 1: Thanks so much for asking. Well, there's a lot of things happening. I'm really, very excited. Thanks so much for your concern. As simple as that.[00:02:30]Speaker 1: Now, my family used to ask me about my programs or even my books, all the time. Because to them, a book meant real business. Having an online course or running something that is tangible. It looks tangible to them. So even though it was just a book or a program, it was just pretty a small part of my business.[00:02:50]Speaker 1: But to my family, it meant like, wow, you are real because you got a published book. You got this, you got that. So in the past, I would kind of tell a story of like well, actually, a book is just one part of my marketing plan. And, you know, right online course is something that I created because I'm very passionate about sharing. Actually, I have a lot more things in my business, blah, blah, blah. And I could literally see their eyes glaze over it, or that would lead to more uncomfortable, awkward situations and conversations about, oh, so you help people with money, but you're bankrupt.[00:03:34]Speaker 1: How does it work? Oh, so you help people with money, but you are doing okay only how does that work? Or you help people with their money, how does it even function or work in the online world? So I just decided my go to response was just going to be, oh, it's going great.[00:03:59]Speaker 1: Thanks so much for asking. It's really good right now. I'm excited about the things I'm doing now. Thank you so much for your concern. Easier said than done, Genecia.[00:04:08]Speaker 1: Okay, yes, I know, but the thing is, your business isn't any of their business, OK? And if telling them all the ins and outs lead to some awkward stuff or makes you feel like shit about yourself, then don't do it, my dear. Number two, change the subject. Which leads me to tip number two get really good at changing subject. Now this is what we call in NLP called Pattern Interrupt.[00:04:38]Speaker 1: Now you remember that game, I don't know if you've ever played it, but you take turns to ask each other questions and you are not allowed to say yes or no. And you had to counter with another question. So I got really, really good at that. And now you can do the same thing over the holidays. Instead of answering all the questions about business or your money or your bankruptcy or your debt or anything at all that makes you feel stressed. You know what get really good at changing subject.[00:05:15]Speaker 1: And you can say, oh, I love this steamboat that you have just made. What's in it? Yeah, I love this so bad. What ingredients do you use? Completely bypass what they've just asked you.[00:05:29]Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's doing great. What about you? What's new on you? New on your side? What's going on with you?[00:05:36]Speaker 1: You know what, people love talking about themselves. So just turn the spotlight back on them so that you just put it back on them and it's easy. Change the subject again and again. Make it again to see how long you can avoid their questions. By the end of it, they'll feel great because people love talking about themselves and they'll be like, she's such a great conversationalist, she's such a great talker, she's such a great person to have at the table.[00:06:13]Speaker 1: Then it won't lead you down the path of talking about things that you don't want to or that could be potentially awkward. Number three, be clear about what you want. Now, this tip number three is all about presence. If presents trigger you, then there are a couple of ways around it. You could just straight ask people, what exactly you want for your present.[00:06:39]Speaker 1: Or tell people, what exactly you want for your present? Direct them don't just assume and don't make it a test of their love or their love language and then blame them later. Okay. Well, if they love me, my parents will finally get me the present I love. No, don't test them.[00:07:01]Speaker 1: Just tell them what you want. What's so difficult? Just say, right? That's really sure way of triggering all your old money stuff is going to continue if something has triggered you in the past. If you know that your parents are terrible at buying presents or your husband or whoever, and they have always forgotten what you like and they've always forgotten your favorite colors. Don't test them again and again to see whether they pass the test the following year of this year and see how much they love you. Correct. Just tell them upfront.[00:07:44]Speaker 1: Say hey. Mommy. Daddy. In case you need some guidance on what to get me for this holiday season, here's a link. Or you know what, I would love an amazing gift voucher. Make it really easy and just direct them. Don't worry about if you people don't buy you the right stuff, just tell them. Number four. You don't have to keep presents you don't like.[00:08:14]Speaker 1: Okay, which brings me to my fourth point. If you get presents you don't like and it does trigger old memories, you don't have to keep them. You can say thank you graciously, but you do not have to keep them. You can go straight from their house and drop it off at the charity store. Someone else is going to love that.[00:08:36]Speaker 1: If you get presents a bit before the holiday season of festive season and you open them and you don't like it, you rewrap it and donate to charity. A lot of times, a lot of places, a lot of events during these holiday seasons have wishing trees or where they will gift out to other people who are more in need of the gifts that you don't need. So someone else will love that. Just because someone's gifted you something, doesn't mean you need to make a shrine of it in your house. Keep it in like a white elephant in your home and then keep it forever.[00:09:22]Speaker 1: No need. It's okay and totally fine for you to declutter your stuff. I repeat, declutter your stuff that doesn't make you feel good and stuff that's not part of your first class life, not part of your F word life. Fabulous freedom, financial independence and a happy family. OK, then, of course, the question will be, I know you're going to ask me. Genecia, what happens if all of this doesn't work?[00:09:56]Speaker 1: Then what if like what people will say, Hey, I heard about your business. It sounds like you're ripping people off or you get terrible present. And you think, oh, for Christ's sake. Why don't you ever buy something else that I love or you just feel attacked from all angles and you feel really terrible about yourself. Well, here's tip number five for you, go do some EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, otherwise known as tapping. Now, this has saved me many times in situations where I feel bad about myself. This was a technique I learned in 2008 and I think 2008 and I really love it so much. It's like my secret weapon when I'm going through emotional trenches and emotional, I will say lows. [00:10:46]So if you are in your family house and you are getting triggered, go into the bathroom and do a little bit of tapping. Ok, now I will know that you will say, even though I have these feelings, even though my family are annoying. Even though nobody loves me and by me presence that I like, I deeply and completely love and accept myself so say that to yourself. Even though I have these feelings, even though my family are super annoying, even though nobody loves me, it's not and buys me present that I like, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, then that way you are responsible for your own feelings.[00:11:33]Speaker 1: It might just be a temporary fix until you can get home, but that's OK just tap out all the ugly negative feelings so that you can move forward and be happier person during the session at your family's home. Now we are winding down now for the rest of the year. So I want to see from my family to yours, thank you so much for joining me at Soul Rich Woman, listening to my podcast, reading my blogs, the entire year or even watching my live shows, my live videos, my live streams. [00:12:12]You know, this might be even your first for some of you. You're like, who is this lady, who is this woman? But thank you so much for watching my live videos or listening to my podcast or even visiting my blogs. It has been such an absolute pleasure. I hope that you get everything that you want and even if you don't, I give you permission to go out there and buy them yourself. You are responsible for creating and owning your own F word and no one else can do it for you. Give yourself that gift, being fabulous, having freedom, financial independence and a happy family.[00:12:57] Speaker 1: You can have it all, sending you my love and I'll speak to you soon. Bye for now.
THE END OF YEAR RITUAL TO FINISH THE YEAR WITH A BANG (Repeat from Ep 143)[00:00:03]Speaker 1: Hey, gorgeous. Welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora, founder of Soul Rich Woman and creator of the Soul Rich Woman Blueprint. On today's episode, I want to talk about the end of your ritual to finish the year with a bang. Now, for most, 2020 and 2021 have been a really rough year.[00:00:30]Speaker 1: No one could have predicted what the last 24 months have thrown at us. If you have made it through physically and emotionally in one piece, congratulations. You are amazing. And even if you haven't, that's okay too. Now, if you have had a good year, despite the obvious, then I want you to celebrate without guilt, without shame, without heartbreaks.[00:00:55]Speaker 1: However, the year has gone, and especially if things didn't go to plan, I recommend this year-end ritual to close out the year. And you have the power to completely change your experience this brand new year that's coming up. We know that when the clock tick tock, tick tock, tick tock over, nothing really magical happens. I mean, it's not Cinderella, right? I mean, it's just another day, like another moment. But I don't know about you, though, it really feels for me like a chance to completely shift things.[00:01:37]Speaker 1: I usually get pretty emotional and go through a decluttering and I would say decluttering journey when I reach the year-end and I move towards the new year because I love the energy of a new year. And this year, more than ever, I'm longing for a calm, health and happiness for all of you, even more and more of you to own and love the F word. So let's end the year with one really simple but profound end of the year ritual. This one has completely changed my life repeatedly. And it doesn't matter how hangover that you have on New Year's Day, OK?[00:02:25]Speaker 1: It's really a simple one to do or to do, even over the next two weeks. Now, this exercise is to make a list of everything, every single thing that you are proud of over the last year. Sounds easy, but trickier than it sounds. First, do this as a partner, OK?[00:02:50]Speaker 1: That's the key. So that you don't chicken out and get shy and say, I don't know, I don't know why I did. What things did I do good? Oh, I don't really do anything amazing. I was just at home working from home most of the time, staying at home, hiding at home. Okay, I know that's going to happen.[00:03:11]Speaker 1: So it's best to do this with someone who really understands you, who really sees you for you and your accomplishments and who will draw out of you, who will draw out all these list of things that you are proud of this year. So take turns asking each other what you're proud of. Start with I'm proud of and least things out. Like learning to live in a lockdown, not killing your partner, staying connected with your family, mastering Zoom, going for a walk wearing masks. Then you can move to business accomplishments.[00:03:53]Speaker 1: Then you can move to your tricky situations that you've dealt with, boundaries you have enforced, goals that you have achieved, personal accomplishments, awards that you have won, anything that you want to acknowledge yourself for. Don't be shy or modest. It's time to really shine a light on everything you have done because you deserve to shine. There is a diamond that is within you and you deserve to shine. And seriously, it's kind of hard to remember everything.[00:04:28]Speaker 1: So here's how to take it to the next level. When your partner simply asks you what else? And then silence. No prompting, no jumping in for their turn. Just ask the next question, what else?[00:04:42]Speaker 1: And wait. Keep asking until you have at least 50, 50 of the items that you are ever proud of for the past year. 50, so there's no like trying to chitchat or trying to look at your phone for social media, looking at your notifications, looking at your WhatsApp? No switch that all off.[00:05:08]Speaker 1: Put that one site, commit 30 minutes to an hour. Just doing this for partner. Remember, keep asking what else? What else? What else?[00:05:17]Speaker 1: Until you have at least 50. So there'll be lots of pauses. You'll want to think about the negatives or the not so nice experience. And when you think you're done, you'll say, okay, I forgot about this one. Just keep asking, what else?[00:05:35]Speaker 1: Now trust me, even after this year, you'll be buzzing at the end of it. So don't give up. The list of accomplishments and things you're proud of is important. But the question what else is extremely important too. You probably get stuck at about the fifth or the 6th things you're proud of because you just don't want to brag.[00:05:59]Speaker 1: You don't want to talk about accomplishments, you discount who you are, you discount your achievements or simply just forgotten or what I call kind of like a denial. You just live life and then just sweep it under the carpet and you don't think that's necessarily an important thing that is important. So did this year really, really suck? I once did this with a friend who thought that she had a bad year until we did this exercise. It took us about 45 minutes and she ended up with 42 things that she was proud of.[00:06:37]Speaker 1: But it took some digging. So that is why the question is so important. Keep asking and don't give up. Recognizing everything you've achieved in this phase of adversity is so good for you. It's awesome to remember everything.[00:06:55]Speaker 1: It's also great to manifest and to acknowledge all your wins, both big and small, so that you can attract even more luck and abundance into the new year. Work on a mix of business and personal as long as you get at least 30 to 50 good things. If you do it by yourself, eventually you run out of steam and move on to something else? Because you have a lot of noise between the two years haha. That's right.[00:07:29]Speaker 1: Noise between the two years of yours. So for best results, you need a partner to hold the space for you and gently ask what else, my dear? What else? As soon as you run out of good things to say about yourself, what else? When you think you haven't done anything good, what else?[00:07:53]Speaker 1: As soon as you think there's nothing else to celebrate, what else? If you tell yourself it was the worst year, what else? When you think you have written everything, what else? By the way, you don't have to do this as a year-end ritual. You could do this quarterly or even monthly.[00:08:22]Speaker 1: I would love you to share yours with me. Go for at least five. So tag me on Instagram or Tiktok or on Facebook with your list. You can find me at Genecia Alluora G-E-N-E-C-I-A-L-L-U-O-R-A. Tag me.[00:08:46]Speaker 1: I really love to hear them big and small. Please don't be shy. You should really break your ass off. Literally, just shine brilliantly with every good thing that you have done, okay?[00:09:03]Speaker 1: And next time, if you're having a bad day or have a read over all these 50 good things that you have done in the past year. And everything all awesome that you've accomplished, imagine just me sitting next to you and saying, what else? Every time you get stuck. What else, my dear? Time to close out this year and start writing a new chapter. Sending you my love and I'll speak to you soon.[00:09:35]Speaker 1: Bye for now.

139: DoNation By Laurus Enterprises Interviews Genecia AlluoraToday's episode is a really special one because I was part of a fundraiser, a charity event in the Philippines. But it's virtual. It's organized by Laura's Enterprises with the support of the world's largest event organizer who brings in Tony Robbins, T Haf Ecker, Robert Kiyosaki Success Resources Private Limited of Singapore. So this event is called Do Nation. Let's do it for the nation. There is a virtual charity learning event and aim to fundraise for front liners and event liners. I'm really blessed to be a part of this. So I hope you enjoy this interview and let me know if you love this episode. Genecia Alluora's Story of Bullying(09:43-11:24) I had to support myself at a very young age since I was 14 years old, and I wasn't able to kind of really build up my self-esteem well. So in school, I wasn't able to buy new clothes, new shoes, and therefore, I was often bullied in school because of my look. Imagine me with really short hair, maybe as short as yours. Rich, you have hair. Okay. So almost very short. And I have very dark eye circles, really bushy eyebrows, very tomboyish because of the way I was being brought up to defend myself, to defend for myself, and not with a lot of money in my pocket. I wasn't able to present myself well, I didn't have a lot of confidence, so I was always the spot where people would bully me. The girls have cornered me at the basketball court. I remember one time, and then they pull over my PE shirt, exposing my bra, and then one of them will actually say, oh, you're wearing the same bra. And I felt totally humiliated. Humiliated. So throughout my years, I was consistently being bullied because of my background, and I lost my self-esteem. In fact, there was one other incident that shook me up that I didn't even want to think about joining a beauty pageant because totally, I lost myself completely. There were times that they took my bag. My bag has holes in them, and they threw it across the classroom floor. And all my books were strewn all across the floor. And at that moment in time, I wanted to commit suicide. I just wanted to die. Her Journey Towards Joining Beauty Pageant(11:27-11:50) My self-esteem continued to go downhill. But you see, we are the average of the five people we hang with the most. And sometimes when we don't have coverage, we don't have bravery. We lost ourselves. It's the people around us who will support us and give us that support. And my friends believed in me. My friends saw the potential in me and say Genecia, you should just join a beauty pageant. Just go for it.(12:03-12:07) And my friends, eventually they enrolled me to join Miss Singapore.(12:11-12:24) And the best part was, I wasn't groomed. I didn't have a lot of money to buy a pair of heels. In fact, I could only afford one pair of black color heels. But in any beauty pageant, you need to have one black and one silver. And you have to have clothes for multiple events.(12:35-12:44) So I went to knock on doors, and eventually, I found someone who was willing to give me a sponsorship to teach me how to do public speaking. (12:46-13:18) Her name was Rebecca. And she gave me all the DVDs, CDs, her notes, and everything possible. She gave it to me. And then she said, can you give me your wallet, your bank? And I was a little bit blurred and naive at the time. Okay. I just passed you my bag, and she took out my wallet, unzip my wallet and pour all the money I have in my wallet. And I'm like, Rebecca, why are you taking all my money? That's all that I have. $60 is all that I have for the month for my food and transport and everything else.(13:36-13:56) And I told myself since you took all my money, I have no money. Right. So I better study hard and make sure I do well in my pageant. Right. So eventually I scored really well, and I won Miss Singapore International in 2006 because of Rebecca's teachings, public speaking, learn how to groom myself. All because I took the first step to commit to my success. Concept of Value Exchange Pushed her to do well in Pageantry(16:24-16:57) I think I never really understood the power of value exchange until much later in life. But definitely, when I looked back, I finally understood why she took that $60. There may be very little to some of you, the listeners, audience who's watching this right now, but for me, it was a lot back in those days. So we talked about the value, the proportion of the value that you have right now in your pocket when you give, whether it's 100 pesos or how much you're giving. It's not how much you give, but how much you have that you're actually giving. Her Message to People who are Struggling. (20:46-21:21) Don't think that you are alone because there's someone else out there. I totally get you. If you have depression and anxiety, it's time and possible for the journey. Just know that someone has gone before you and someone has overcome before you. So be an Overcomer. Learn to Ask for Help don't feel like you're being judged if you ask for help or if I ask for help means I'm weak, means I'm lousy, means I'm no good. But if I hadn't asked for help, I hadn't had friends who gave me that support. I will not be here today and be able to do more with my life. (21:23-21:36)So I want to encourage you to really step out of your comfort zone and really ask for help. Don't feel that someone else is judging you. Always know that there is a brighter, lighter hit at the end of the tunnel.Does and Don'ts in Starting a BusinessDon't be an Automatic Expert on Certain Things.(28:21-28:41) So to really do a cafe business, you need to don't become like a chef, you try to start a restaurant. You hold a camera, you think you're a photographer, you hold an iPhone, you think you're a blogger, you have a website, you think you are a blogger or something like that along the line. So don't think that you know how to be a barista. You can make a cafe. Don't Do Retail Business in this Covid-19 Season(28:50-29:14) I would say in this Covid-19 season, don't really start a retail business anymore. I will recommend you to reinvent the idea into a kiosk and then do takeaways, something that is duplicatable, something that is easy. Similar concept to bubble tea. Do something that is easy for people to take away with. I think that would be a better choice.Get a Franchise(30:21-30:36)If you were to do a cafe, get a franchise, that is the easiest way to get started, even though it could be a little more pricey. But that investment that you put upfront guarantees you that you have a system and process that's proven and you can make money immediately. (30:49-30:57) Why? Because the brand is really known in the market and it's easy for people to trust you and know that your coffee is good. (31:07-31:13) Other than that, the brand actually has a trust factor involved. So definitely that will work in itself.Build a Team(31:24-31:44) I think one thing that I found success in the cafe business and I've learned is by having a team, we could put our skillset and strengths together and we are not functioning alone. And because we're not alone, we could easily put the processes together and eventually create something that's worthy of selling. How did Genecia Maximize her time?(40:38-41:11) Maximizing my time really means really sticking to my schedule as if I am doing the business as I would do before and after Covid. I think that in itself is a state of mindset where you can't tell yourself, oh, because it's Covid, therefore, I am not going to function the way I am. I'm going to sleep in a little bit more. I'm going to lazy around a little bit more. I mean, you could do exactly just that. But what is your vision? What is your big why? I think that is the question I want to keep reminding myself. (42:31-43:15) When I maximize my time, I want to always keep my vision in mind, keep that idea of why am I doing what I'm doing? Maximizing time also involves using management tools. I would highly recommend you to check Asana. Asana is a project management tool that is super useful. I have a team of 21 in the Philippines and they are all in Davao and I manage them all on my tools via Skype and Asana. And maximizing my time also means delegating 80% of my to-do list to them. So I only do 20% of my to-do list functioning in my zone of genius. Why Delegation is Very Important in Maximizing Time? (48:45-49:35) All you need is just to have $50 for a task that you completely hate to do. Like for example, bookkeeping like, for example, posting on your social media, getting things scheduled and posting things out, things like that can be easily outsourced and delegated for just $50 a week or $50 a month. It doesn't have to be, oh, I have to hire a full-time employee. It can be just a task or two, three tasks bundled together. As long as the person gets things done for you, you can go bit by bit. The two of the biggest mindset blocks for all the entrepreneurs I see, female entrepreneurs alike, is that they have this mindset of I can do better than the virtual assistant, I can do better than my employees.(49:39-49:44)But the thing is you're forgetting that you could maximize and function in your zone of genius.(50:04-50:10) And number two, the other block that a lot of entrepreneurs have is that they need to spend a lot of money to do delegating. Why Investing in Yourself Matters?(54:07-55:17) I will invest in myself, go for a program that will change and transform either my skill set and then also my mindset. I think the skill set is something that I've learned that nobody can take away from me. I started when I was 14 years old, had to support myself through school as yoga, aerobics, and line dancing instructor because I started when I was 14 teaching classes, being able to move a class of 100, to move a group in a Stadium of 1000, that gave me the skill set, to be able to give instructions whether it's in a small group or big group at a very young age. And that was why I was given the opportunity to work with politicians, CEOs and celebrities. Because of that, I had the advantage over other people when I was doing my business when I was an image consultant and doing my business, and I looked at the whole course on its own. So if I were to only have $1,000, I would do the same. Invest in myself, look at the skill set that is the future that people want. Why Action is Needed to Reach Your Goals?(55:26-56:33) One of the greatest swimmers of all time in Singapore, his name is Joseph Schooling. He won an Olympic gold, our very first Singapore Olympic gold just a few years ago. For Joseph Schooling to win an Olympic goal, he had to hire a coach to coach him how to swim in the pool. But did the coach need to jump in the pool to swim? For Joseph Schooling on the day of the Olympics, the answer is no. Joseph Schooling will wake up five to 06:00 a.m. Every single day and swim and worked his ass off to eventually winning the Olympic goals. So even if you invest in yourself to find a skill set that eventually will pay your bills, you must take action to jump into the pool and swim to achieve your Olympic goal. Like Joseph Schooling, the coach and mentor of the course can only guide you through, give you the system, the process that you can take you there because it's proven, but it takes you all your energy, 100% to swim through, to end, to finish line. Why Genecia's Mother is the Greatest Woman for her?(00:59:27-01:00:31) I look at my life now where I am, if not for her, I would not be where I am today. Like, set up pawning her goal to send me for instructor certifications, which I hated her for. Like, why do I need to work at a young age? Why do I need to do this to want to share with you my depression, my committing suicide, going through different relationships in life. And my mom has always been there, even though sometimes as a daughter, we are rebellious, we are running, going through our own course in life. So for me, I think I'm just being human and looking at my mom, I want to honour her. Even up to now, I would say my mom is still the greatest person ever. And I will say whatever I'm doing now is role modelling after her because she's also a leader in the community. She guides other women. She teaches other women how to live a confident, fulfilling, healthy life. And I'm exactly doing the same. Just an online version.Tips to Embrace our Mothers and Honour Them.Philosophy and Principles (01:03:10-01:03:24) I totally disagree with her most of the time. But over the years, I invested myself a lot in personal development, inner healing work. I do so much of that that I realized that choose to be happy, then choose to be right. Embrace her Indifferences.(01:03:29-01:04:09) She has gone through her own journey and education and her life experiences. So when she says certain things about you, about your work, about your life, just let her say because she has gone through her journey to be what she is today, there is definitely a generation difference to where we are now. So just be open-hearted and love her and embrace who she is. And that is one thing, one of the biggest lessons that I've learnt, embracing my mother and our differences. And I no longer think that I need to be right. I always choose to be happy and I just listen to her and just smile and not my head, even though I disagree What drove Her to build the Sole Rich Woman?(01:05:57-01:06:08) I was trapped in the nine to five red race for about a year because I was already making more working part-time and as an instructor. And I decided that I think nine to five isn't for me.(01:06:23-01:06:58) I feel that my life has been called for. So I went into image consultancy because my pageant winning Miss Singapore has really opened doors for me. And getting that specification as an image consultant did help me to pass ways to get to know more. I would say more influential people like your network goes to your net worth. So I think that really has helped me tremendously. But I was trading time for money. By work, I get paid, I work, I get paid, I don't work, I don't get paid. So that in itself I struggled and I was looking for a way out to go from offline to online, to bring my business online. How Mentoring Helps her in Building Soul Rich Woman(01:06:59-01:07:39) And how can I really make my first million? And that was just what I was thinking. I have never made my million before. I gotta do it myself. How can I get there? I invested in a mentor eventually. And his name is James Wee. He's also my partner in the cafe retail chain. He's also now the partner and the man behind So Rich Woman. So, yes, even though I run Soul Rich Woman, I'm the founder, but he's the man behind looking at all the different strategies and how we are charting out the cash flow and all these things. So it's very important. What is the Vision of a Soul Rich Woman?(01:07:40-01:08:22) I went online knowing that I can empower and equip more women to shortcut their success, to own and love the effort, be fabulous, have freedom, financial independence, and above all, family. I don't want women to start going round and round in circles because I feel that there's just so much time wasted when you're just going round and round in circles. There is definitely a way to shortcut your success, to reach your goal in a shorter period of time if you have the right mentor and the right community. Because when a woman changes her life, her entire community benefits. And alone, you are strong. But together we are unstoppable. What is the Most Important Lesson she learned in Life? How will she Influence people through it?(01:09:34-01:10:10) One of the biggest lessons I learned in life is never to give up. And if I were to win Miss Universe, I would actually use this motivational skill set that I have to actually get everyone who's been in touch with me one light at a time to tell them that the sky's the limit and there's no storm that you cannot conquer Never give up only as you're willing to step out of your comfort zone no dream that you cannot achieve in your life because alone we are strong together we are unstoppable. What advice would you give to youngsters? (01:16:46-01:16:51) Believe in yourself. Be confident. Stay true to your soul, to your heart. What advice would you give to people struggling with this Pandemic?(01:21:40-01:21:54) Remember, quit thinking, start doing and never give up on your dreams. Even Covid-19 has happened. Life definitely must go on. Find a mentor and stay connected.(01:22:12-01:22:43) People are having issues, and they feel that they're alone. So don't feel that you're alone. I just want to just call out to you right now if you're feeling alone, just know that we have resources available for you. And as we do this as a nation together to support our front liners in the Philippines, we also would like you to lend your hand, hundred pesos to get started, to make a donation so that we can do more with our effort together because alone we are strong, together we are unstoppable.Key Takeaways:1. It's not how much you give, but how much actually give.2. Be an Overcomer.3. Learn to ask for help.4. Never give up.5. Believe in yourself.Key Resources:Subscribe to Genecia's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/SoulRichWomanVisit SRW's website: https://www.soulrichwoman.comFollow Genecia on Instagram : (@Geneciaalluora)Follow Genecia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/geneciaalluora/Check Genecia's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/genecia/Free Resource: "Soul Why: Soul Rich Woman Blueprint" and "How to Delegate 80% of your to-do list" ---> https://be.soulrichwoman.comSecrets of Manifesting Money Quickly Online Course ---> https://shor.by/moneymindset

On my ongoing journey towards Personal Development Mastery, I changed the format of Thursday's episodes. So instead of adding more knowledge, I revisit the previous episodes and consolidate the wisdom imparted by my guests. This episode's topic is money mindset, finances, and wealth. Why do people struggle to become financially successful? The causes and the solutions. I revisit episodes #022, #035, #039 and #051, and share the wisdom of 4 of my guests (Jamie York, Harry Singh, Genecia Alluora, and Rich Waterman).
Episode 128: 7 Signs You Need To Work On Your Mindset Hey, gorgeous and welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Now today, I want to share the seven signs you need to work on your mindset. Now, when it comes to money, sooner or later, there will be a wake-up call that happens for each of us. Maybe the last year has been a massive wake up call for you.1. When you know it's your time but something holding you back.(04:38- 05:34) Finally, each year you set big goals thinking that this will be the year that your dreams come true. You might even have a book that is sitting on your computer 90% done or a program or course that's ready to launch, but something's just stopping you. Every day you wake up and you think now it's the time, it's the right time. But the moment your income doesn't match up with your intelligence or with your degree or potential and the gifts you offer up to the world, you are tired and you are tired of waiting for someone else to choose you or you deem that you are ready to earn more. I'm sure you're frustrated in yourself that you haven't done it yet, but maybe today is today and you know that it's now or never.2. When you've been practising personal development yet your money handling behaviour doesn't change.(05:43-06:32) You love personal development, but the money hasn't shown up yet. Well, you could be feeling like a fraud or flaky person right now because you're doing everything right, but it's just not working. I bet you have a dream board, a vision board, or you journal your goals regularly. And you are a very positive person. You probably read every book that talks about making money abundance under the sun, but you feel like there's still a missing puzzleIt feels unfair if you're honest with yourself. You know that you've been sabotaging money behaviours that are working against you, but you can't change them.3. When you don't earn what you are worth but you are aware of that.(06:36-06:52) You don't earn what you are worth and you suspect that you're worth a lot more. The charge what you are worthing gets a really bad reputation, especially when we talk about it here in soul rich woman, you need to charge your worth, do less.(07:00-07:34) It's because women don't see that they are worth the amount, and they're always using that excuse or that sentence. Women should just help women. Why should I charge or get someone to pay me for my products or services? I mean, you can't put a price tag on yourself as a human being. You're priceless, but guess what your business isn't. You have to name a price.4. When you want to live a life worth living but you're compromising it.(08:39-08:50) You want to live a first-class, amazing life, but you're stuck in the rut, you're stuck in your cupboard. (08:53-09:41) You are sick of compromising areas in your life, like where you stay, what you eat, how you are treating your family because we're talking about owning and loving the F-word. So being fabulous, freedom, financial independence, and a happy family. So you're kind of sick of compromising all these four F-Words in your life, where you live, how you dress, or how you travel. It's exhausting, super tiring to have to justify every single dollar, every single cent. Think about it. Wouldn't it be nice and cool to have peace of mind that you can always make more money? You're seeing other women rapidly increasing their income and you are kind of jealous? It's okay to admit it.5. When you're aware of your money handling capability but do not seek any help.(09:57-10:01) You already know that you need a money mindset makeover. (10:06-10:21) You might even have gone through situations when you think I've got to sort this out.(10:22-10:50) For example, when you start to perspire when you talk to an accountant or anyone official or officially about money, or you sit and procrastinate like sending out invoices people send me their confessions all the time and say that they are so scared about money, in particular, talking about it and asking for it, you might even think you are really bad with money.(11:08-11:16) It's about taking a practical inventory of your past experiences and examining it with all your beliefs and habits around money.6. When you feel like you repel money.(11:27-11:56) You know how to manifest money quickly when you need to, but it's not predictable or it comes at a great personal cost. Like, for example, you're stressed out or burned out. When you have a good month, you often attract unexpected bills or fines that will wipe it all out. So you're always going like two steps forward and one steps back, ten steps forward and three steps back. And that can be so frustrating. 7. When you want to make more money, but you're also scared.(12:04-12:21) Some people are surprised to learn that even millionaires are scared. Making more money doesn't make the fear go away. Same for me, even at the stage where I'm at, making money is scary sometimes.(13:05-13:31) You worry about losing your privacy or safety. You worry, you get scammed. You worry about friends and family asking you for more money. You worry that it's going to be a hugely negative experience and you can see where I'm going. This is common and you can see these conflicting things and how much they could be holding you back.Embracing the money blocks (13:38-14:01) Everyone has their flavour of money blocks, and I'm here to help you identify yours and clear it.(14:37-15:13) Remember, Money blocks don't have to derail you. You can embrace them and move on to creating the life that you want, the F-Word that you want for yourself, family, financial independence, being fabulous, having freedom, but it all starts with your awareness. Once you know your block, you then can stop sabotaging behaviours that you can stop them, that they will not come and haunt you. And then you can move on to the next level. That's when you can make money, no matter what. Key Takeaways:1. Know your worth.2. We all can have it all.3. Create a money mindset reset.4. You're priceless, but your business isn't.5. Money blocks don't have to derail you.Key Resources:Subscribe to Genecia's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/SoulRichWomanVisit SRW's website: https://www.soulrichwoman.comFollow Genecia on Instagram : (@Geneciaalluora)Follow Genecia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/geneciaalluora/Check Genecia's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/genecia/Free Resource: "Soul Why: Soul Rich Woman Blueprint" and "How to Delegate 80% of your to-do list" ---> https://be.soulrichwoman.comSecrets of Manifesting Money Quickly Online Course ---> https://shor.by/moneymindset

At the age of 16, Genecia experienced horrible incidents of bullying at school. Soon after, she tried to commit suicide. Her mother's words: “Turn your mess into a message” gave her a wake-up call and she carried those words throughout her life to make choices that empower rather than bring her down. She decided that business is a way to put yourself out into the world, and that leadership is about much more than a way to earn money. It's a way to develop new skills and get started on a life's journey. Genecia is a way to make change happen. Today she's a millionaire, a purpose-driven woman and her principal of the 5 f words are something I really love. 107: Power Of Self-LoveWelcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Today I want to talk about a huge lesson in self-love. The power of self-love is key to a lot of women's success. A lot of women are extremely nurturing and loving to everyone except themselves. Some psychologists say is because from an early age girls are taught to be helpful, selfless, and no to trouble anyone. I think it causes some women to feel guilty as if they are not worth spending time or money on or even asking for help. This attitude has a direct impact on our weight, health, relationships, sex, and success and holds back so much potential that could make a huge difference in the world to own and love the F-word.Take care of yourself(2:21-2:25) Now, I have to admit being one of the worst in self-love. (2:29-2:42) I was on the ground with several jobs on the go. As a waitress, I was teaching yoga, aerobics, line dancing and not giving myself physical care or even rest.(2:44-2:59) Now, I remember a really bad time in my life when my self-care was at an all-time low. Now, it serves as a powerful reminder that I am in control of how I feel about myself.(4:12-4:30) Of course today, I am much better now. But I have to remind myself that I'm allowed to take care of myself lovingly and I deserve a great relationship. That even though It's something that I still need to work on, at least I've come a long way since that day.Self-love is important(4:31-4:54) So why is self-love so important? Now, there are some women who seem effortlessly, confidently, beautiful and things just magically happen for them. They might not be the smartest, the nicest, or the most attractive, but there's something indefinable that makes them stand out like a star.(4:55-5:38) And usually, these women get what they want because they ask for it and they feel like they deserve it. It's just as simple as that. They think nothing of treating themselves as they would a special friend or someone they love. This is not selfish. This is a form of self-love and acceptance. Now self-love and self-care is not just about buying yourself flowers, going to the hairdresser, going for massage, but treating yourself how you would treat others. This includes forgiving yourself for mistakes in any area of your life. It's about being kind to yourself. What makes you feel special and loved?(7:02-7:20) For me, I love spending time alone in solitude. Sitting in my beautiful space, either at home or in a park, or just listening to podcasts and enjoying the beauty around me along East coast park.(7:21-7:32) When I'm busy, fun things go out of the window. And when we are busy, fun things go out of the window because we think we don't have time. (7:33-7:51) When money is tight, we feel guilty about spending money on non-essential experiences. The reason why it's so important is that when we laugh and have fun - we feel lighter and happier. And this affects how we treat our bodies as well. (8:04-8:13) Don't let budget issues hold you back from self-care. It's usually a reflection of how you treat yourself on the inside(8:36-8:47) Now there are plenty of things you can do that don't cause too very much money to have very good self-care and therefore power of self-love is unleashed. Key takeaways: Treat yourself the way you would treat others. You are in control of how you feel about yourself. Don't feel guilty You deserve more. Forgive yourself. 105: What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up? It's Never Too Late To Find Your Dream JobI'm Genecia Alluora the author of two best-selling books; Make it happen and Personal branding secrets. Former Ms. Singapore, international Cafe Retail chain owner. Southeast Asia Woman of excellence 2010 and International Progressive Woman 2019. I am also the founder of Soul Rich Woman.Today in this episode, I wanna talk about what you want to be when you grow up, and it's never too late to find your dream job. Everyone loves to ask our children that question. Mainly because they will say very interesting things, like a doctor, astronaut, maybe a ballerina, a veterinarian. Of course, children aren't so bothered by the fact that they'll one day need a job that pays the bills or need to have skills that will pay the bills or care about making sensible decisions and choices. They just want to do what makes them happy. What was your burning desire as a child? (3:16-3:31) Most people have a secret dream of what they want to be and to do with their lives. Some are already living it - either as a career or as a hobby. Other's are too scared to even articulate what they want. How do you discover your dream job or your purpose in life?(3:39-3:47) Look for clues. Now, finding your ideal job or purpose is really obvious when you connect the dots when you look back.(3:54-4:14) It's really been a dream for a really long time, or it just fits perfectly with your innate skills and talents. People who find their passion in life say that “Everything just came together.” or “All of my experiences in life has led me to this.” (4:23-4:27) Clues can be found in childhood as well.(4:53-5:08) If you have no idea but you know for sure that you're not doing it because anything about what I'm doing now isn't specific enough for the universe to manifest the right opportunities, people, and resources to help you along the way.(5:15-5:50) First, “What do you love to do?”. Two, “What have you always dreamt about doing with your life?”. Three, “What do other people tell you that you are fantastic and fabulous at?”. Number 4, “What dream courses do you think about taking all the time?”. Number 5, “If you didn't have to worry about taking a pay cut, what about other people thought about you doing with your life? What would you do?”.(5:56-6:04) These are the questions sometimes I ask and talk about on my lectures as well as in my coaching with my clients. (6:05-6:42) So I would say take the first steps and do it afraid anyway because once you have an inkling and idea of your passion like a light bulb of AHA moments, then you can take some steps towards changing your career or living in your purpose. For example, volunteering, shadowing someone in your chosen field, being an apprentice of Soul Rich Woman, taking it on a side hobby, or completing a course like a Soul Rich Woman Blueprint to get new qualifications. It doesn't matter how old or young are you- time is gonna pass by anyway.(7:13-7:14) Life is really short.(7:17-7:18) You only live once. (8:28-8:51) So I would say, make the change. I know that making drastic changes can be scary, I get it. But it's also liberating. Quitting a horrible job is awesome. Applying for your new dream job is a great step in the right direction, but you have to do something. Otherwise, you'll stay exactly where you are now.(8:53-9:45) And if you can't afford to make the change, then start to plan how you could ease into a new career without completely derailing your life or cause yourself so much stress. Put aside a bit of money for your program, start changing your spending habits now to anticipate a drop in income, or spare some time outside your current job to move towards your dreams- #Sidehustle. Now, you might be working late nights and weekends for a while, but I guaranty, it will pay off eventually and you will enjoy because it will be entirely for you. Remember this is about you. It's never about me. You investing in yourself is not gonna change my life one bit.(9:55-10:02) Even just indulging in your passion as a hobby that will make big changes in your life, do it.What are you doing or going to do to make a change in your life?(10:52-11:04) My answer to you? OWN IT. As you make the transition into your new life you have to start seeing yourself in a new way before other people will. (11:38-11:41) What you say becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. (12:45-12:54) Now, if you feel uncomfortable telling people your dream, then get out there and get some experience. Everyone has to start somewhere.(12:59-3:10) Don't be embarrassed, okay, if you have to start at the bottom. And sometimes with purpose and passion fueling you? You won't be there for long.(13:32-14:07) When you grow outside of your limitations, fears, and self-doubts. When you grow out of the need of needing other people's approval. When you grow out of living up to the expectations of others. When you grow out of those neigh slayers and dream slayers giving you co-blanket. When you finally give yourself permission to dream and be happy. I love to hear about how you're making your dream a reality one step at a time.Key takeaways: My passion is important. Own it. Life is really short. You only live once. Everyone has to start somewhere. What You Can Do When The Law Of Attraction Is Not Working For You Welcome to today's episode with Genecia Alluora. Author of two best-selling books, Make It happen and Personal Branding Secrets. Former Ms. Singapore, cafe retail chain owner, Southeast Asia Woman of Excellence 2010, and International Progressive Woman 2019. She is also the founder of Soul Rich Woman.“In today's episode, I wanna talk about what to do when the law of attraction isn't working for you.”Law of Attraction(1:25-1:33) When I first came across the law of attraction very much earlier in my career, it's really very very exciting.(1:40-1:52) So you think,” Oh my god! How could this be possibly true? Can I just really ask for something and get it, Genecia? This is amazing.”(1:53-1:56) You see you can set goals, make a dream board, and wait.(1:58-2:20) And you feel like you've done everything right because you pasted all the photos, the images, the car you want, the house you want, the husband you want, the money you want. And so you get really pissed off because nothing happens, right? So you said to the universe, ” Hello, why Universe, you're not giving me, where's all the things I asked for on my dream board?”(2:23- 2:31) I had someone ask me for advice recently, and she was confused about how this works. She love following our podcast show.(2:38-2:54) And she was incredibly frustrated. She's like, “Genecia, I'm really panicking. I have no money in my bank account right now and I've got three big bills to pay this month. What am I supposed to do?”(2:55-3:15) So I say, “To start with, stop feeling bad and scared about it. It will only make it worse. So even though you're worried, start by, first, affirming that everything will be okay. Two, visualizing you paying the bills easily. Three, feel the feeling of being so taken care of by the Universe.”(3:16-3:34) And she said, “ You don't understand what I'm saying. How am I supposed to do that when no money in my bank account? It's true! Everything that you're saying is lovely, Genecia. But in reality, there is nothing there in my bank account.”(3:36-3:46) So you see, negative affirmations are just as powerful as the positive ones. When you say, “I have no money, I'm broke.”(3:55-4:07) You will only perpetuate the feelings of fear and anxiety. Which will probably attract even more bills and unexpected expenditure.(4:08-4:15) And the funny part about the situation was that she couldn't see the pattern. Of course, I mean because I am the mentor, right?(4:19-4:29) But then again, after communicating with her, she still couldn't see it. So she was constantly experiencing this feeling of having no money. (4:35-4:45) And she was unwilling to look inside and change. I told her to stay positive and to affirm that something would come up. (4:47-4:55) And it did. Someone eventually did give her money out of the blue, and she was saved that very month. (4:57-5:16) Then the horror story came. The next month she wrote to me again and said, “Genecia, I did another Law of attraction experiment like you said and asked for $2000 to show up today, and it didn't. Why?”(5:44-5:53) But you know what, there is a process here. It's not always going to show up instantly if you're not willing to do the inner work involved.(5:55-6:16) It's really so much fun when things manifest instantly. But most of the time, there is a time lag, and there's no way of knowing how long. Why? Because imagine between us and our dream and the things we want to manifest, there's so many blocks in between.(6:20-6:38) The faster you want to manifest something, it only makes sense if you clear or de-trash your garbage, the clutter, in your life. Especially in your mind. Because we are not truly aligned to what we want and we have to do some emotional or physical decluttering. It can be symbolic.(6:43-7:01) To let the Universe do its job. We may have to look at self-beliefs that we have around money or take stock of some of our bad habits. Most people can't be bothered and they just wanted instant solution and find a magical fairy.(7:05-7:17) And not do any work towards it or change their behavior in any way. And to make matters worse, they will keep complaining and whining and they love to blame people. (7:19-7:27) Because you know what? My law of attraction method didn't work for her. The Soul Rich Woman blueprint didn't work for her because she's complaining, she's not willing to do the inner work.(7:29-7:33) “It's somebody else's fault!” And they are always blaming someone else.(7:34-8:06) If you have done some emotional decluttering. They are very clear, and you're very clear on your goals and you are taking some actions every day, then your desire, your dream, your goals will show up eventually. However, it is incredibly important during the time length to remain totally aligned to the feeling of the outcome. It will be hard to be open to new opportunities and possibilities if you are worried and stressed. (8:11-8:25) You have to feel it before you have it. And that can be very tough for some people. When you allow doubt and resistance to come in, you will actually block your natural flow and ease to receive abundance.(8:40-8:53) Trust me. You can learn to be lucky, to be able to attract the F-word into your life- Fabulous, Freedom, Financial Independence, and happily; easily and effortlessly. (8:54-9:04) The trick is to master the Soul Rich Woman Blueprint, to stay positive even when your reality is temporarily something totally different.(10:19-10:27) I just wanna say this, “Believe it before you see it, I guarantee it. Your stuff is on its way”.Key Takeaways:1. You have to feel it before you have it.2. Believe it before you see it.3. Be clear on your goals.4. Stay positive.5. Don't perpetuate the feelings of fear. Be confident that your previous work experience or your practice, even though it failed in your businesses as all experiences count.(3:32-3:38) The roller coaster of terror of having no income from the start.(3:54-4:06) Say yes to everything. It's all expensive. Throw everything at the wall and see if it sticks. So just try, go out there, never just filter everything.Stage 2 (4:21-4:27) Here are some of the mindset issues that you might face in stage 2.(4:29-4:30) Fear of being visible.(4:36-4:55) You post on social media, you write on the Instagram you'll get haters. Or if you do videos, people will criticize you. Now the fear stops when you're doing more things in your business, well anyway, the reality is it probably won't happen for a while anyway.(4:56-5:02) You might struggle being consistent in your marketing because you are still figuring out your target market.(5:16-5;36)Just tweak as you go along. Quit thinking and start doing. Just keep going and pay attention to what resonates with you and get a mentor to kick your ass as well. Now if you do nothing, to be honest, you will not be able to figure out what your audience really wants.(5:38-5:44) Boundaries might start to be a problem with clients because you're so excited to even have them.(6:02-6:11) Anyway, this is priceless learning for you. When you are going through this journey and learning to set boundaries and when to say no.(6:14-6:27) Procrastination and fear of creating passive income products even though you know that you should. Because you're starting to see the limitations of doing one on one work.(6:47-6:49) Less time, less freedom.(6:53-6:59) You're still learning everything yourself. So you're thinking you could start to delegate some stuff out.(7:07-7:21) You start to invest in yourself more maybe with a coach or masterminds. Start to say maybe to everything. Think about if it fits into your business before you say yes to opportunities.Stage 3(7:37-7:45) CEO is not Chief Executive Officer. In this stage 3, it's called Chief Everything Officer.(7:46-7:56) You want to not become Chief Everything Officer. You want to be the Chief Executive Officer, and that is key.(7:57-8:13) You're also gaining momentum. Time to raise your prices to make sure you have the right clients. Boundaries with clients make you realize you need to tighten up some of your legal processes. Now is the time to make sure you have your contracts sorted out.(8:16-8:23) You'll learn this by trial and error. Maybe through nightmare clients. Then again these are priceless lessons.(8:25-8:27) Start outsourcing things that stress you out.(8:38-8:49) You start to tighten up the costing, the cost center of your business. Maybe you get a little bit too excited about earning money that you get crazy spending on personal development.(8:51-8:53) Now it's time to start paying yourself salary in Stage 3. (8:12-9:19) Start to say NO to things that aren't in your zone of genius or things that don't work for your business anymore.Stage 4(9:24-9:37) Loneliness. At this stage, it might be hard to find the right groups or masterminds for you. You need to be upgrading and make sure that you're surrounding yourself with people with similar energy and vision of mindset with you. (9:39-9:51) Copycats might be a problem at this stage 4. Well, people are noticing what you're doing and then you'll get people flat or accidentally copying you including all or current clients. (9:53-9:57) Either don't take it personally or get legal.(10:16-10:22) Fame and popularity. You might get fangirls who love and adore you.(10:31-10:52) Burnout. Now, some people get super burned out at this stage and wonder how they'll keep going at this pace forever. And that is why I wanna tell you that you must build your freedom lifestyle. F-word, being fabulous, having freedom, financial independence, and a happy family. Work towards that.Stage 5(10:56-11:09) Embracing your role as a leader and being willing to take on the role in your communities. Be willing to hold the space for people. Set rules in your business in how you want to interact with people.(10:31-11:37) You start to get more brutal with your time and evaluate opportunities with more business.(11:50-12:10) You'll learn how to manage your money better with financial advisers or accountant, learning to be a rich person. Some people look to retirement. What's next? Maybe you don't hustle as much. The momentum is hard to switch off here if you have been consistent for many years.Epilogue(12:17-12:25) Earlier on I've just mentioned to you the 5 different stages that really reflect the mindset issues that can pop up for you.(12:49-13:01) We all have a part to play in this. This is your time and you are ready for the next step. The more you take action in a consistent way the faster you built your momentum and really grow your business.Key Takeaways: All experiences count. Quit thinking and start doing. Today I'm speaking with Genecia Alluora. Genecia Alluora is a former Miss Singapore turned business coach as the founder of Soul Rich Woman, the #1 female entrepreneur network in Southeast Asia that connects more than 200,000 women across the region in the ‘Soul F' membership program. She mentors thousands of women to bring their business and leadership brand online. Before establishing her coaching business, Soul Rich Woman, Genecia was an owner of a successful cafe retail chain. What is incredible about Genecia's story is that as young as 14 years of age, Genecia had to support herself through school where she was often bullied. Genecia has gone through the highs and lows of being a business owner which we share on this episode. How she went from being in a six-figure debt to becoming a millionaire in 2013, to how this fuelled her passion to support women to do the same - to own the F-word - Freedom in their lives. We touch on many things in this interview from building a memorable brand online, to being resourceful as you're starting your business, how to handle rejection and No's, the concept of value exchange and why it's important to charge for your work, 2 tips for getting out of debt, how to find a coach or mentor, and how to really define your niche online effectively. I appreciate Genecia's take on growing her business, as it's certainly different from mine and it's always nice to hear different perspectives. I teach more of a top down approach, starting with high ticket clients so you can earn an income to then create smaller, more affordable programs for the masses, whereas Genecia teaches the other way, a bottom-up approach. You don't want to miss this interview so buckle in and keep this party going! Oh but before we dive into this interview, as a reminder, if you are a new and aspiring coach who wants to create a high-impact, soul aligned coaching business and land paid clients in just a matter of 6 weeks or less - DM me now on Instagram and say “COACH”.
