Starting August 2026, every week Ryan will interview one member of his community with a fresh set of questions about their specific viewpoint on SCREAM, reflect on living through the Spyglass era, and celebrate the 30th anniversary of SCREAM (1996). There will be four to five long-form questions asked first, then 30 speed round questions that follow designed to evoke answers that describe your SCREAM personality. (This has been increased from 10 previously.) Every member of the community will receive this opportunity for a 30-minute sit-down, and each interview is designed for the individual member to have spiritual ownership of the episode in which their interview is published. Ryan hopes everyone to feel included, have a "moment" (another, better defined "moment" since most everyone has completed the original, more limited speed round) and be memorialized in the podcast, as we reflect and move into the SCREAM future. How to sign up? You must have an active membership on Patreon.com/screamwithrcs, subscribe at any tier 2 and above, or tier 1 annually consecutively for three months. In the summer, I will send out a note and will compile a waiting list. (NOTE: This feature is in addition to requests for appearing on main topic episode recordings and the quarterly group zooms.)
This week, we're discussing the effects of cinematic bullets on celluloid bodies (or something like that) as we take a look at THE KILLER, HARD BOILED, and THE NIGHT COMES FOR US! Also, more cussin' directed at Spyglass! Plus, we weigh the pros and cons (ok, cons) of THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE being described as 'a good film for its time', so get your profanity counters ready and press play!
Melissa Barrera crashes out! In this emergency episode, Ryan covers Melissa Barrera's recent interview with Variety where she promoted conspiracy theories about Paramount and Spyglass "lying" and fabricated the box office success for Scream 7, as well as referring to her co-stars (Courteney Cox, Jasmin Savoy, Mason Gooding) as "scabs." First, Ryan reads the direct quotes from Variety and then is joined by Anthony to reflect on Melissa's unprofessional statements and conspiracy theories. Good morning from Pharma Daily: the podcast that brings you the most important developments in the pharmaceutical and biotech world. Today, we delve into some of the most significant events shaping the industry, from innovative drug formulations and regulatory challenges to the dynamic IPO landscape and clinical trial outcomes.Starting with Novo Nordisk, their oral formulation of Wegovy is witnessing substantial uptake, showcasing a strong demand for novel obesity treatments. This rapid adoption underscores a competitive environment where companies like Eli Lilly, with its Zepbound launch, are vying for market share. The introduction of innovative delivery methods in obesity management not only drives immediate commercial success but also highlights a critical area of therapeutic advancement due to the rising global prevalence of obesity. From a regulatory perspective, alignment with bodies like the FDA remains crucial. Companies such as Beam Therapeutics and Cabaletta Bio emphasize this at events like the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, highlighting the importance of clear regulatory pathways in ensuring the successful approval of promising therapies. Conversely, Atara Biotherapeutics' recent setback with an unexpected FDA rejection demonstrates the unpredictability inherent in regulatory processes, which can significantly impact drug development timelines. The IPO market in biotech remains vibrant despite broader market uncertainties. Noteworthy are Agomab Therapeutics and Spyglass Pharma, each preparing for substantial public offerings. Agomab focuses on ALK5 inhibitors for inflammatory diseases, while Spyglass advances drug delivery implants for chronic eye conditions. This wave of IPOs highlights investor confidence in innovative therapies that address unmet medical needs and reflects a broader trend toward precision medicine and novel treatment modalities. In clinical research, AbbVie and Genmab faced a setback when their bispecific antibody failed to meet a crucial endpoint in a Phase III lymphoma study. Such challenges underscore the high stakes involved in oncology drug development, where successes can significantly alter treatment paradigms, yet failures remind us of the inherent risks.Turning to Alzheimer's disease, there is palpable excitement around next-generation treatments under investigation. These candidates promise to reshape the landscape by offering new hope in a field where effective therapies are desperately needed. This is complemented by advancements in manufacturing capabilities recognized as essential to strategic planning beyond 2026, ensuring that production processes can scale efficiently to meet global demands. On the workforce front, Takeda's decision to reduce its U.S. headcount, impacting its neurology teams, reflects industry trends where resource allocation is increasingly focused on core growth areas. Such strategic recalibrations are part and parcel of navigating competitive pressures and evolving market demands. In another realm, ImmunityBio's Phase 1 results for its CD19 CAR-NK cell therapy offer promising insights into innovative oncology approaches. The use of natural killer cells engineered with chimeric antigen receptors could revolutionize cancer treatment by providing targeted therapeutic options for hematological malignancies and potentially solid tumors.Regulatory approvals also continue to shape industry dynamics. SOBI's Aspaveli receiving EU approval for rare kidney diseases marks significant progress in complement inhibition therapies. Meanwhile, Bayer's Eylea approval for retinal vein occlusion-related visual impairment reinforces the vital role of VEGF inhibitors in ophthalmology.Strategic collaborations are also making headlines, as seen with Abelzeta and AstraZeneca's expanded partnership on GPC3 CAR-T therapy through an acquisition focused on China rights. This move illustrates the global interest inSupport the show

We primarily play the Chaosium RPG Call of Cthulhu, but have also been known to dabble with other systems, most of which can be found on our Patreon: www.patreon.com/apocalypseplayers We now have a free Discord server where you can come worship at the altar of the Apocalypse, play Call of Cthulhu online, and meet like-minded cultists who will only be too eager to welcome you into the fold. As Christians, we are called to love people. This means that we should support and serve others and not exploit of steal from them. We all know this! But how does this apply to the art traditions that we practice within? How do we actively contribute to them, rather than exploiting them? How can we be blood donors rather than vampires? A group of curious and ingenious humans build a spyglass to peer into the realm of the gods, to find out why the gods are not governing the world as they were expected to. Genre: Mythology Excerpt: Not in the beginning, but early in the history of the world, many mortals suspected that the ones who called themselves gods were shirking their duty of properly governing the world. Some responded by entreating the gods. Others by railing against them. But a few decided to try answering the question of what it was that the gods spent their time doing if they were not doing what was expected. What story or stories am I revisiting in this episode? Each Season 8 episode is a standalone story, but it's connected to or inspired by a previous story through a character, a place, an object, a concept, a continuation of events (ahem, sequel), and so on. Resourceful mortals versus neglectful, cruel, and petty gods. This theme doesn't seem to get old for me. Two previous episodes that explore that theme and inspired this episode are “Godsfear” and “A Sword Named Blasphemy.” MERCH!Interested in merch, like mugs and notebooks, featuring my artwork? At center, a floating island wreathed with glowing clouds, surrounded by a wispy net of light. Behind the island a circle, a view through a spyglass showing a partial view of the moon at top and a night sky. The circle is encased by a square showing the same view of the sky. In the top right corner are bolts of lightning. In the top left corner are colorful sparks of light. Along the bottom stand a row of twelve people seen in silhouette from the back, each one holding on hand on the shoulder of the person standing next to them. This square is flanked by thin panels. The right panel at bottom depicts a partially constructed ladder next to a support tower. The left panel shows a spyglass or telescope angled to view the floating island. A final set of panels flanks the rest of the image. The scope extends into the final left panel. Thick gray fog or clouds appear at bottom. At right middle, three smaller floating island are chained together with bridges. The sky above displays colored gases. At left, a net of light extends and expands from one corner of the central island. A larger overlay of the circle showing the sky and moon sits to the left of the whole image. A smaller overlay sits to the right. Borders at top and bottom to make the final image a square. These borders repeat motifs from the main image. Watermark of “Storyfeather” along middle right.]
