We're celebrating our 10th anniversary all year by digging in the vaults to re-present classic episodes with fresh commentary. Today, we're revisiting our 2022 conversation with Roland Orzabal. ABOUT ROLAND ORZABAL AND TEARS FOR FEARS:Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith formed Tears for Fears in Bath, England, in 1981 and have gone on to sell 30 million albums worldwide. Their major breakthrough in the UK came in 1982 with the Top 5 single “Mad World” and the subsequent platinum-selling album The Hurting. They gained major steam in the US with their sophomore album Songs From the Big Chair, which included the hit singles “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “Shout,” and “Head Over Heels.” Featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, Songs From the Big Chair reached #1 and was certified five times Platinum by the RIAA. Tears for Fears' follow-up single “Sowing the Seeds of Love” was another massive hit, but Curt departed the group not long after. Following a couple of albums with Orzabal at the helm, the duo reunited for the Everybody Loves a Happy Ending album in 2004. Now, after a long wait of 17 years, Roland and Curt have just released their seventh studio album The Tipping Point, and are embarking on a major tour. Even as they bring us new music, their legacy is well-established as one of the most unique and influential British groups to emerge in the last few decades. Their songs have been covered or sampled by Gary Jules, Adam Lambert, Lorde, Kanye West, Drake, and many others. And, in 2021, the band was honored with the Outstanding Song Collection honor at the Ivor Novello Awards in London. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Welcome back to 'AI Lawyer Talking Tech.' This week, we examine the massive regulatory and technological currents shaping legal practice. AI adoption is driving unprecedented efficiency, as seen when firms use specialized tools to recover thousands of pounds in outstanding debt in under five minutes or employ agentic AI to transform document processing into strategic decision-making through specialized, collaborative agents. Simultaneously, the legal system faces critical threats to its integrity: deepfake technology can fabricate evidence, such as manipulated audio or forged documents, in high-stakes cases like divorce and custody disputes, while generative AI "hallucinations" introduce phantom cases and invented quotations directly into court filings, exposing lawyers to sanctions and prompting courts to retract decisions. To address these dangers, governing bodies are stepping in; California enacted landmark legislation requiring major AI developers to publicly disclose safety protocols and report critical safety incidents—including dangerous deceptive behavior during testing—and new data protection laws, such as Maryland's MODPA, impose heightened restrictions on processing sensitive personal data and information related to individuals under 18. As legal educators integrate mandatory AI certification into core curricula, we explore how legal professionals are building the necessary tech fluency to govern and leverage these powerful tools.Rosen Law Firm Investigating Disney's Child Privacy Violations2025-09-30 | InvestorsHangout.comCalifornia enacts AI safety law targeting tech giants2025-09-29 | Black Hills PioneerCalifornia enacts AI safety law targeting tech giants2025-09-29 | Fox41Yakima.comGarfield Law shares “£7k in 5 minutes” debt recovery and says Mazur judgment is driving firms to AI2025-09-29 | Legal IT InsiderAI in the Legal Profession2025-09-29 | Bracewell LLPIf Brad Pitt Can Be Deepfaked, So Can Divorce Evidence2025-09-29 | Forbes.comReminder: Maryland Data Protection Law Comes into Effect on October 1st2025-09-29 | JD SupraExploring Innovative Strategies for Law Firm Advancement2025-09-29 | InvestorsHangout.comWhen AI 'Lies': The Legal Risks of Hallucinations2025-09-29 | Wisconsin Lawyer MagazineBigLaw Firms Double Down on AI: New Strategies Aim to Boost Attorney Adoption2025-09-29 | JDJournalLaw Schools Go High-Tech: Mandatory AI Certification Now Part of Legal Education2025-09-29 | JDJournalLife as a lawyer taking on AI-fuelled fraud2025-09-29 | Legal CheekMilbank LLP To Host Call for Unsecured Bondholders of Braskem S.A.2025-09-29 | StockTitan.netUnlocking Blockchain and NFTs: A Deep Dive into Technologies2025-09-29 | InvestorsHangout.comExclusive: Lexroom raises $19M to scale AI-powered legal tech across Europe2025-09-29 | Tech Funding NewsAI-powered fraud detection platform raises £1m - advised by Weightmans2025-09-29 | Insider Media LimitedBoost Your Visibility in AI Search With Our New FAQs AI Optimization Tool2025-09-29 | Legal Marketing & Technology BlogFrom Documents to Decisions: How Agentic AI Is Rewiring Legal Workflows2025-09-29 | Legaltech on MediumIus Laboris and Lewis Silkin partner to launch global employment law guide powered by AI2025-09-29 | Legal Technology News - Legal IT Professionals | Everything legal technologyDiving into Data: Managing the Legal Risks of a Data-Driven Economy2025-09-29 | Stoe Rives LLPPittsburgh Tax Review Symposium, AI in Tax Law: Tax Administration & Educating the Next Generation, October 18, 20252025-09-28 | The Faculty LoungeAI and the IP Legal Landscape: Disruption, Opportunity, and the Path Forward2025-09-28 | Legal Technology News - Legal IT Professionals | Everything legal technologyKarisma Kapoor family battle escalates with children alleging massive £2.52 billion estate accounts wiped while court questions will's validity2025-09-27 | Eastern Eye

Welcome to a special episode of HME News in 10 sponsored and developed by Rhythm Healthcare. In this episode of HME News in 10, Doug Francis, CEO of Rhythm Healthcare, talks about the HME “trailblazers” who are embracing portable oxygen concentrators. “This is a provider who has invested, not only in the efficiencies that can be derived from POCs, but also turning that into clinical messaging to tell referral sources, ‘We're a technology-forward company,'” he said. “When they take the time to educate on the benefits to the patient, and when they tell that story, they are seeing a 30%-plus increase in respiratory referrals.” For Francis, the industry is at a tipping point where both the clinical community and the consumer are going to start demanding POCs – a great time to make the switch. The How of Business - How to start, run & grow a small business.
How small signs of disorder in your workplace can erode culture, safety, and customer trust, and how fixing them builds pride and small business success. Show Notes Page: https://www.thehowofbusiness.com/582-broken-windows-theory/ In this episode Henry Lopez explores the Broken Windows Theory and its direct application to small business environments. Originating from research by Philip Zimbardo and popularized in The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, this theory shows how minor neglect - like graffiti, cluttered offices, or dirty restrooms - signals lowered standards and invites further disorder. Henry shares examples from New York City's subway transformation, the car wash industry, and restaurants to highlight how seemingly small details shape both customer perception and employee culture. A tidy and well-maintained workplace not only signals professionalism but also enhances safety, efficiency, and morale. “Little things matter. When we ignore small signs of disorder in our business, we send the message that standards don't count here.” – Henry Lopez This episode challenges you to find and fix the “broken windows” in your small business, setting the tone for excellence. This episode is hosted by Henry Lopez. The How of Business podcast focuses on helping you start, run, grow and exit your small business. Your favorite psychologists, John Gartner and Harry Segal, review the insidious way the Trump administration is using the Kirk assassination to end freedom of speech. They are joined again by Dr. Vince Greenwood, an expert on psychopathy, who shines a spotlight on Trump's criminal behavior. Be sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts: Our site Subscribe on iTunes Subscribe on Spotify Subscribe on Amazon Music Subscribe on iHeartRadio The episode opens with a stark diagnosis: Trump's behavior reflects a dangerous blend of malignant narcissism and sociopathy. Gartner and Segal argue that his compulsive lying, criminality, and relentless attacks on institutions aren't just political tactics—they're symptoms of a deeper pathology. These traits, they warn, fuel a pattern of authoritarian maneuvering that threatens the very fabric of democratic society. One of the most chilling segments centers on the political exploitation of tragedy. In the wake of Charlie Kirk's murder, Trump and his allies swiftly weaponized the event to stoke anti-left sentiment and suppress dissent. Gartner and Segal dissect this response as a textbook example of fear-based control, where grief is hijacked to justify repression. They argue that this tactic not only deepens national division but also corrodes core democratic principles like free speech and pluralism. The conversation then turns to media complicity. The psychologists critique how certain outlets, under financial or ideological pressure, have surrendered their independence and become echo chambers for Trump's narrative. This media capture, they contend, is not incidental—it's strategic. By dominating the information ecosystem, Trump consolidates power and silences opposition, turning journalism into a tool of authoritarian control. Joining the discussion is Dr. Vince Greenwood, who offers a clinical assessment of Trump as a psychopath. Drawing on established diagnostic criteria, Greenwood highlights traits like impulsivity, lack of remorse, and a compulsive need to dominate. While these traits have helped Trump rise, Greenwood warns they may also be his undoing. The very pathology that fuels his power could expose vulnerabilities—cracks in the armor of authoritarianism. The episode closes with a call to action. Gartner and Segal urge listeners to stay vigilant, resist normalization, and confront the psychological tactics that enable authoritarian rule. Understanding the cognitive and behavioral patterns of leaders, they argue, isn't just academic—it's essential to defending democracy. Tune in next week for another gripping, clinically grounded exploration of power, pathology, and the urgent need to protect democratic values from psychological manipulation. On this week's Tipping Point conversation Paul and Wally discuss the events of last week and what they mean. Specifically, the murder of a young Ukrainian girl and Charlie Kirk shooting (and what it means for the future of political discourse). Paul believes that MLG's "Free" Child Care scheme is a diversionary tactic. Also, fewer New Mexicans are taking advantage of the existing subsidy. RGF is fighting for your freedom in court! RGF had an opinion piece relating to what ails Albuquerque. Federal $$ shouldn't be used for bike trails in the first place. Trump cut $11.5 million from the project. MLG pledges to use NM tax dollars to make up for Planned Parenthood funding elimination? The Santa Fe New Mexican and some RGF research highlights the massive generosity of recent MLG pay hikes for close staff.

In this episode, Guy welcomed back Reverend Bill McDonald. He shared his profound insights on the power of love, spiritual healing, and maintaining a high frequency to influence positive change in the world. He discussed the importance of focusing on love and light, even amidst global turmoil, and the transformative potential of self-love and meditation. Reverend Bill reflected on his personal experiences with healing, recounted stories from his spiritual journey, and emphasized the significance of living authentically and spreading positivity. This enlightening conversation aims to inspire listeners to embrace their inner potential and contribute to global well-being. About Rev. Bill: Rev. Bill's life has been a spiritual journey, spanning slightly over 7 decades. His whole life has been a mystical trip in search of gurus, the paranormal, and self-discovery. He has written about his many spiritually transforming experiences and “near-death experiences” including supernatural events during his combat tour-of-duty in the Vietnam War. In his books he has shared some incredible spiritual events that are beyond both common understanding or explanation. His autobiography “Warrior A Spiritual Odyssey” takes us on a life quest for love, understanding, forgiveness and enlightenment. His follow-up book (Publishing date 2017) “Alchemy of a Warrior's Heart “continues that mystical journey including four trips to India for even more profound experiences with holy men, miracles and his personal relationship with the Divine. His books are also available in German and Spanish. What he knows for sure, after all these years, is that the only thing that is truly real is LOVE. He speaks publicly about the need to forgive and power and energy of love. His mission in life is to inspire others to seek the Divine and he does that though his personal stories of his own life experiences. He is a seeker but not just for himself. His “mission” is to allow others to experience his journey through his stories. He has had 3 near-death and near-death-like- experiences and many countless encounters with the supernatural. His beliefs are simple: There is but ONE GOD – and our only mission is to LOVE & SERVE ALL. Key Points Discussed: (00:00) - Rev. Freddie Sayers is joined by Undercurrents host Emily Jashinsky, reporting from the White House, and UnHerd's US Editor Sohrab Ahmari to discuss the immediate aftermath of the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. On the somber anniversary of September 11th, they analyse the profound and frightening fallout, including the sense that a "seal has been broken" in American politics, the potential for a J. Edgar Hoover-style crackdown on left-wing groups by an angered Trump administration, and the grim question of whether civil debate can survive in an era of escalating violence. Hosted on Acast. Welcome back to the Alt Goes Mainstream podcast.Today's podcast was a conversation that was recorded live at Morningstar's Investment Conference in Chicago earlier this year.Morningstar CEO Kunal Kapoor took time out of his packed schedule at the event to sit down with me for a thought-provoking conversation that dove into the nuances of many of the trends that are shaping private markets today.Morningstar and Kunal have quite an interesting perch in the market. They occupy a critically important function in the market: helping investors understand the data, structures, and trends in public and private markets. They provide fund ratings, investment analysis, and market data to both individual and institutional investors. As public and private markets experience increasing convergence, Morningstar finds itself at the intersection of markets that are undergoing rapid evolutions across product structures, asset allocation frameworks, and weighty questions around conceptual frameworks of liquidity, risk, volatility, concentration that are on the minds of many. Amongst the wide range of topics Kunal and I covered, one stood out: Morningstar is fiercely on the side of the investor. If there's anyone who has a deep understanding of Morningstar's DNA, it's Kunal. Kunal started at Morningstar in 1997 as a data analyst, holding a variety of roles at the firm, including leadership positions in research and innovation. He served as director of mutual fund research and was part of the team that launched Morningstar Investment Services, Inc., before moving on to other roles including director of business strategy for international operations, and later, president and chief investment officer of Morningstar Investment Services. During his tenure, he has also led Morningstar.com® and the firm's data business as well as its global products and client solutions group.Kunal and I had a fascinating and lively conversation. We covered a number of the most pressing topics in private markets today: the convergence of public and private, liquidity vs illiquidity, investor education, the importance of transparency, and the why, what, and how behind evergreen funds. Thanks Kunal for coming on the show to share your wisdom, expertise, and passion for public and private markets.A word from AGM podcast sponsor, Ultimus Fund SolutionsThis episode of Alt Goes Mainstream is brought to you by Ultimus Fund Solutions, a leading full-service fund administrator for asset managers in private and public markets. On this week's Tipping Point interview Paul talks to Reilly Stephens. Reilly is Senior Counsel at the Liberty Justice Center which is representing Paul and the Rio Grande Foundation in court against the City of Albuquerque in a case (that was recently heard in Court) related to what RGF believes is a clear violation of the State's anti-donation clause. Between the "leak" of the Dobbs decision of the US Supreme Court (on abortion) and its actual issuance the Albuquerque City Council saw fit to donate $250,000 to Planned Parenthood, a pro-abortion group. We believe this is a clear violation of the anti-donation clause. Finally, Reilly's organization is ALSO leading legal opposition to President Trump's unilateral tariffs and will soon be arguing against those unilateral tariffs at the Supreme Court. Paul and Reilly discuss that as well. Rio Grande Foundation is an amicus in that case.

Welcome Chris Cuomo to the year 2025, where he realizes what we've known for years: he is wrong. In a video recorded in his car, Cuomo admitted that he has been wrong before. Well, not specifically. But, generally. And you're wrong, too. Enjoy the word salad. JD Vance is dropping literal bombs on terrorists and figurative bombs on Leftist influencers. After telling Brian Krassenstein to kick sand, Rand Paul came back with a book recommendation for Harper Lee. We'll try to connect these dots in real time. This weekend, footage was released of a career criminal stabbing a Ukrainian refugee to death on a train at the end of August. Why is this the first we're hearing about it? When it comes to climate change, we often think of tipping points as having a huge negative effect. Be it the loss of ice sheets in the Arctic, the deforestation of the Amazon rain forest or the alteration of ocean currents, scientists have identified several key systems on the Earth that will be impossible to reverse if they cross a critical threshold. But if we look at the situation from the opposite side, there are also several positive tipping points that, given the correct momentum, can potentially halt the crisis the planet is facing. In this episode, we're joined by Prof Tim Lenton, chair in Climate Change and Earth System Science at the University of Exeter, to talk about his latest book Positive Tipping Points – How to Fix the Climate Crisis. He tells us how the pop group A-ha helped Norway to lead the way in the adoption of electric vehicles, how government mandates can act as powerful amplifiers to get us closer to these vital climate tipping points, and how each positive tipping point can feed into another to push us closer to a greener future. Their alleged crime? Operating in a regulatory gray zone where vague EPA guidance and unclear enforcement thresholds make compliance nearly impossible for honest entrepreneurs. The case is emblematic of the broader federal bureaucracy's war on working-class Americans and small business operators—especially those who support the industries that power rural and agricultural communities. The targeted small business owners primarily served customers in industries critical to the American economy—agriculture, heavy construction, and freight transport. The prosecution is not rooted in any danger to the public, but in a federal bureaucracy out of ...

Dear Humans, I was recently joined by Emmy-winning actress Nancy Lee Grahn (who you may know from General Hospital, and Santa Barbara) for an unfiltered conversation about career, politics, and democracy. We had a great time discussing how she balanced motherhood with a demanding acting career—and never missed a parent-teacher conference. She also opened up about her outspoken political voice on social media and the risks of speaking truth to power in Hollywood. Plus, Nancy and I dug into the danger of apathy in politics—and why voting matters more than ever. It's always heartwarming to talk with someone who cares as much as I do! Nancy shares why she believes every person—famous or not—has a responsibility to speak up, so please enjoy this new episode of The God Pod! Love, God

Gladwell is also a confessed track and field nut and in this interview with Mike and Ross he shares his views on why passion lasts longer than pressure in sport, how to save track and field from itself, the weirdest event in T&F, doping, why tennis reflects the good and bad future of sport and whether super shoes should be banned from athletic competition.
