After World War II, nuclear power was heralded as the future of energy. Then the partial meltdown at Three Mile Island in 1979 marked a turning point and solidified opposition. In two decades, a dozen U.S. reactors have closed and only three have come online. But the site of America’s worst nuclear accident may now be the site of its rebirth. In tonight's dead letter, listener Barry talks about the strange phenomenon of table tipping. He recounts an experience from 25 years ago, when he and a friend attempted to raise a heavy coffee table through meditation, with unexpected results. Mike and Rico discuss some comments from Roger Goodell about the NFL schedule, wondering if it has become too overloaded.
The first explicit threat of sanctions from the leaders of France, the U.K. and Canada if IDF troops don't stop the renewed military offensive to take control of the whole of Gaza. It came after the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced “minimal” humanitarian aid would restart. A drop in the ocean said the UN.
In a major shift, the FDA no longer recommends COVID-19 vaccine boosters for healthy Americans under 65—prompting celebration from critics of the vaccine rollout. This commentary dives into the implications of the decision, highlighting RFK Jr.'s role, demands for trial data, and the growing skepticism surrounding mRNA vaccines. Also discussed are broader questions about media accountability, vaccine safety trials, and political fallout. Plus: Rep. Nancy Mace's shocking congressional reveal and Jake Tapper's on-air reckoning with Megyn Kelly over his past criticism of Laura Trump.
Aid returning at a trickle into Gaza after a two-month blockade, but troops are on the move and the bombing continues with an average of dozens killed a day the past week. Israel's prime minister talking up what might sound like a permanent reoccupation. This collective punishment of two million civilians, many, says the UN on the brink of starvation, is exactly the sort of overreaction that Hamas wanted when it perpetrated the worst terror attack in Israel's history more than 18 months ago. At the time, allies insisted on Israel's right to respond. But now, even nations with historical reasons for giving the Jewish state a wide berth are critical, the likes of Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK which has just summoned Israel's ambassador while suspending free trade talks. It's signed a communiqué with Canada and France which may recognize a Palestinian state next month. We'll ask how far the pivot's gone since October 7th and what sort of future for Palestinians and for Israelis. Produced by Rebecca Gnignati, Elisa Amiri, Jimena Morales-Velasco.

Local media isn't just struggling — it's at a tipping point, and most companies are leaning the wrong way. In a brutally candid conversation, Gordon Borrell lays out why 85% of local outlets are capturing less than 10% of their digital ad potential and why newspapers, in particular, have seen zero digital revenue growth since 2020. He calls out broken sales cultures, invisible new businesses, and the dangerous illusion that hard paywalls are a sustainable fix. If you're in news publishing and not reading this, you're missing your wake-up call — and possibly your last chance to pivot. Quantum computing and AI are no longer theoretical concepts for tomorrow—they're shaping how organizations must secure their infrastructure today. In this episode of the podcast, Marc Manzano, General Manager of Cybersecurity at SandboxAQ, joins the conversation to share how his team is helping organizations confront some of the most urgent and complex cybersecurity shifts of our time.SandboxAQ, a company spun out of Alphabet, operates at the intersection of quantum technology and artificial intelligence. Manzano highlights two immediate challenges that demand new approaches: the looming need for quantum-resistant cryptography and the unchecked proliferation of AI agents across enterprise systems.Post-Quantum Migration and Cryptographic AgilityManzano describes an industry-wide need for massive cryptographic migration in response to the quantum threat. But rather than treating it as a one-time fix, SandboxAQ promotes cryptographic agility—a framework that enables organizations to dynamically and automatically rotate credentials, replace algorithms, and manage certificates in real-time. Their approach replaces decades of static key management practices with a modern, policy-driven control plane. It's not just about surviving the post-quantum era—it's about staying ready for whatever comes next.Taming the Complexity of AI Agents and Non-Human IdentitiesThe second challenge is the surge of non-human identities—AI agents, machine workloads, and ephemeral cloud infrastructure. SandboxAQ's platform provides continuous visibility and control over what software is running, who or what it communicates with, and whether it adheres to security policies. This approach helps teams move beyond manual, one-off audits to real-time monitoring, dramatically improving how organizations manage software supply chain risks.Real Use Cases with Measurable ImpactManzano shares practical examples of how SandboxAQ's technology is being used in complex environments like large banks—where decades of M&A activity have created fragmented infrastructure. Their platform unifies cryptographic and identity management through a single pane of glass, helping security teams act faster with less friction. Another use case? Reducing vendor risk assessment from months to minutes, allowing security teams to assess software posture quickly and continuously.Whether it's quantum cryptography, AI risk, or identity control—this isn't a vision for 2030. It's a call to action for today.Learn more about SandboxAQ: https://itspm.ag/sandboxaq-j2enNote: This story contains promotional content. President Donald Trump still hasn't hit the 100-day mark of his second term, but it feels like the country is already hitting some kind of inflection point. On Saturday, we saw a second day of mass protests against the Trump administration's agenda. Massachusetts Democratic Gov. Maura Healy compared this moment to the start of the Revolutionary War, saying, ‘Our freedoms are once again under attack.' Even New York Times conservative columnist David Brooks wrote about how it's ‘time for a comprehensive national civic uprising.' Amid all these proverbial alarm bells, it might seem a little perverse for some Democrats to advocate for a return to a kind of New Deal-era of politics, where more centralized power allowed the government to do big things. But that's exactly the argument made in the new book 'Abundance.' Co-author Derek Thompson joins us to talk about how America can go back to building and inventing new things, and how Democrats can get people to trust the government again. And in headlines: The Supreme Court issued an emergency decision blocking more flights of alleged Venezuelan gang members to an El Salvador super prison, Vice President JD Vance got an audience with the Pope, and the Israeli military admitted to several “professional failures” when it killed 14 Gaza rescue workers and a U.N. staffer last month.Show Notes:Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

As we continue our series on China-US climate cooperation, we issue something of a warning, pointing out that we should see ourselves not as the victims of some future climate catastrophe, but rather we should admit that unbridled exploitation of the planet's resources has made us the harbingers of change.

History is being written under our noses and we may not even realize it. Dr. Don Barden, globally renowned Behavioral Economist and author of "The Perfect Plan" and "Here Come the Girls" unpacks a revolutionary shift happening right now in the business world—women are on track to lead global leadership by 2028, bringing unprecedented economic prosperity with them. Don shares his fascinating journey from Wall Street to consulting for industry giants like Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and Walmart, and how his relentless observation of high performers worldwide revealed universal success patterns. What he discovered might surprise you: women-owned businesses are outperforming male-owned ones 3:1 in profit, revenue, and employee retention. Don's research isn't just theoretical—it's transformational. He breaks down exactly why leaders who run to work to serve others find the "laws of the universe dump abundance on them." This isn't about gender politics; it's about smart business. As Don puts it, "This isn't a girl thing—it's a smart thing." If you're feeling that quiet inner struggle between playing it safe and stepping boldly into your authentic leadership, this conversation offers both validation and a roadmap. The future belongs to those who lead with purpose, clarity, and genuine connection—qualities that align perfectly with what's emerging in our global economy. KEY TAKEAWAYS Retention and productivity rise dramatically under female leadership. The future workplace will reward collaboration over competition. Businesses must align with what consumers and employees want most: to feel valued. Female leaders naturally align with modern workforce and consumer needs. Women are leading differently—not like men—but by celebrating their uniqueness. The future of work is human-centered, values-driven, and rich in purpose YOUR NEXT STEP If you're building or leading anything right now—pause. Ask yourself: Are you aligned with what people genuinely want: connection, purpose, and value? This isn't just about supporting women in leadership or anything to do with gender wars. It's about supporting better leadership, period. The future isn't coming. It's already here. What side of this transformation will you be on? ABOUT DON BARDEN Dr. Don Barden is a globally recognized Behavioral Economist and acclaimed author known for "The Perfect Plan." Recognized as one of North America's Top 30 most transformational leaders by John Maxwell, Dr. Barden has guided industry giants like Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and Walmart to unprecedented success. One day your child is their “healthy normal” self, and the next day they're radically changed, displaying neuropsychiatric symptoms that can scare and bewilder the child, their families and carers/teachers. The heartbreaking thing is it can take months if not years, to find a doctor who can identify and start treating the cause of this sudden change.Enter Dr Nancy O'Hara. We look at PANS/PANDAS and the genetic, environmental and incidence-based reasons something sudden like this can happen to a child and most importantly, how we can do 2 things. Firstly, mitigate risk by being more literate in causal factors and knowing how to proactively support children's health and resilience. Secondly, know how to spot the changes in kids - some subtle and some severe, so that you can start treating and healing the child soon and avoid being bounced around to a few doctors and practitioners before they get the support and treatment they need.We cover:What PANS/PANDAS can present asWhere it comes from biologically and environmentallyMacro foods that are important for this group and whyHow can we be proactive when an infection hits or tick bite happensand moreSo. Pain is complex and multifactorial, making diagnosis challenging. The traditional impingement model is being challenged in favor of a broader understanding of shoulder pain. Imaging often does not influence management decisions for rotator cuff issues. Corticosteroid injections provide only short-term relief and can have negative effects on tendon quality. Exercise-based management is crucial for effective rehabilitation of shoulder pain. The rotator cuff tendons are positional and strain less than energy storage tendons. Rotator cuff tears are common and can exist without pain or dysfunction. Age is the biggest risk factor for developing rotator cuff pathology. Understanding the tipping point to pain is essential for effective treatment. Rotator cuff tears are often associated with poor vascular supply and degeneration over time. Metabolic factors like diabetes and smoking can increase the risk of rotator cuff tears. Exercise can be as effective as surgery for massive rotator cuff tears. Expectations of recovery significantly influence rehabilitation outcomes. Education about the commonality of tendon tears can help reduce patient anxiety. Pain during exercise can be tolerated up to a certain level without adverse effects. Sleeping positions can impact shoulder pain and should be modified accordingly. Adjunct treatments like shockwave therapy and corticosteroids have limited long-term benefits. Tendon stiffness is important for efficient force transfer, but its role in pain management is still being studied. Understanding the psychological aspects of pain can enhance recovery from tendon injuries. #356 Gravity - Rich has had what he thought might be the most middle class accident, but he is wrong. His guest is a listener who has won a competition to be on the show, the Dorian Grey of morning TV, Ben Shephard. They discuss how science proves Ben a better singer than a West End star, whether there's a man with a broom behind the Tipping Point machine, revenge as a dish served very cold, why Rich was fired from morning television, how Ben's charity work found him at Buckingham Palace and what Richard had to do for the same invitation, feeling up Julie Walters, plus a classic emergency question and Ben turning the tables and asking some stuff about testicles that he might not do on morning telly.SUPPORT THE SHOW!Support the CAN I HAVE MY BALL BACK KICKSTARTERWatch our TWITCH CHANNELBecome a badger and see extra content at our WEBSITESee details of the RHLSTP TOUR DATESBuy DVDs and Books from GO FASTER STRIPE Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/rhlstp. Genesis 3:1-7: The Tipping Point (Special Message) taught by Pastor Dave Rolph on 04-06-25.
The sprawling metropolis of Phoenix seems an unlikely place to build an apartment complex without parking for residents. Car dependency is just part of life for most people there. But a new development in the suburb of Tempe is providing a blueprint for car-free and more environmentally friendly living. It's been five years since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. But there may be another potential pandemic on the horizon: bird flu. Against the backdrop of growing anti-vaccination sentiment, exhaustion from COVID, and a new administration, The Atlantic's Katie Wu explains that the U.S. is perhaps less prepared to deal with a widespread outbreak than it was when COVID hit—and bird flu, if it spreads to humans, could be worse.
