On this edition of the Cowboy Up podcast, we introduce TJ Jones, a real-life rodeo announcer with the Tejas rodeo near San Antonio, taxes. TJ's mom was showing horses while he was growing up and his father was on the Sul Ross State Rodeo in Alpine, Texas so his rodeo roots run deep. TJ NEVER starts a rodeo without speaking to our Creator who blessed us with the ability to do what we do. With Christ, all things are possible. According to TJ, whoever said a dog is a man's best friend, never owned a horse. Good ol Buster has really turned into a great announcer's horse and he's the best coworker he's ever had. Olympics – Canadian Olympians push for opposition to Russians in Paris A group of 42 retired Canadian Olympians are urging their country's Olympic leaders to take a stand against Russians participating in next year's Paris Games. In a statement, the Olympians argue that refusing Russian participation is not simply a matter of denying them a chance to compete because of their passport, it is also a rejection of the war and a recognition of the role sports plays in geopolitics. Signing the statement was a who's-who of Canadian Olympic greats and gold medalists, including Hayley Wickenheiser, Jenn Heil, Alex Bilodeau and Beckie Scott. Court records show that Erica Herman filed a complaint seeking declaratory judgment on Monday in Martin County, Florida. The couple had been living together in the area just north of Palm Beach County. Woods and Herman haven’t publicly announced the end of their relationship, which began in 2017. According to the complaint, a trust controlled by Woods is attempting to silence Herman with a nondisclosure agreement she signed while working as an employee of Woods. The complaint argues that the NDA should be nullified under a federal law that prohibits an NDA from being enforced when sexual assault or sexual harassment is involved. TJ Jones’ wife took his face in her hands, tears in her eyes. "You are so unhappy! What He Sees That Holds Women Back One of the many bosses TJ has had was such an impressive woman, who was smart and analytical. During one of his performance reviews, she broke down and was clearly upset. Initially, TJ was shocked and wondering why it was happening during his review, but he felt she could trust him. She has received feedback that she was too harsh and intimidating. Lack of self acceptance can hold us back and cause us to overcompensate in certain areas. What He Has Learned From Women Instead of just opening up the laptop when you sit down with someone, TJ learned that particularly in the beginning, that it is better to discuss the expectations with an employee or peer. It is really important to have an open and honest conversation to start the working relationship. What Changes Are Necessary for Women to Step Up as Leaders TJ believes that women don’t need to change so much, but to become, to progress throughout our lives. TJ listened to one of Oprah’s commencement speeches, and she said after her show ended, that she wondered if she mattered anymore. We take the need to feel significant, to feel connected to the world into the professional environment. Expect to continue to grow and better yourself. If you aren’t getting that, ask yourself if this the right thing for you. Make necessary steps to continue and grow.
