On my 48th birthday, my mom reminded me that my grandmother died of a heart attack at the same age. That conversation sent me to review my cholesterol results... and changed what I put on my plate (a little bit). I already eat a plant-based diet, exercise regularly, and don't smoke. But new guidelines from the American College of Cardiologists have shifted the target for LDL cholesterol from 130 down to under 100 mg/dL. At 102 (in May 2025), I had work to do. So I made some small, deliberate additions to my diet. No meds, no overhaul, no yucky supplements! A retest just last week showed promising results. Here's what happened. ➡️ Join us to discuss Dr. Greger's Lower LDL Cholesterol Naturally with Food book: Kick-off event on June 25th (free): https://brigittegemme.com/lower-ldl-kick-off/

In traditional education, you're taught to recite and regurgitate. Going a step farther, you might learn some critical thinking skills. But what about applying them in the most audacious, fascinating, and inquisitive ways possible with thought experiments? Philosophical and exploratory thinking pushes your boundaries and opens new worlds. Learn to Think Using Thought Experiments is about how to analyze, perceive, and interact with information and situations - all in your mind and imagination. Ever feel like you're showing up how you think you ‘should' be showing up, but your content just isn't reaching the right people? In this episode of Content with Heart, I'm walking you through four small shifts that change who your content reaches. Because it's not about getting in front of more people. It's about connecting with the right people - the ones who actually need what you offer and are ready to hear it. I share a client story about boosting a post and attracting completely random comments (we've all been there), and how that moment led to a much bigger realisation about how content works. This episode will help you come back to what really matters, which is creating content that feels aligned, intentional, and human. Key Takeaways Speak to one person. Not everyone. That's where real connection starts. Create with intention. Every piece of content has a role to play. Match your message to where your audience actually is… not where you want them to be. Choose presence over perfection. Your content doesn't need to be polished to connect. Episode Breakdown 00:00 Why your content feels a bit off 01:33 Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country 02:33 A client story 04:49 Seeing content as a bridge 06:08 Tweak 1: Speak to one person 10:01 Tweak 2: Create with intention 12:59 Tweak 3: Match their stage 16:02 Tweak 4: Presence over perfection 19:39 Making it sustainable with the 4 Ps 22:18 An invitation to go deeper 23:04 Reflection questions + wrap If this episode has you thinking about your content differently, then take a moment to sit with it. And if you're ready for more support around creating content that actually connects, you'll find the next step waiting for you

In this episode of "Shark Theory," host Baylor Barbee delves into an eye-opening personal experience that provides valuable life lessons for those looking to optimize the coming year, 2025. The discussion begins with a reflection on the past year and highlights the importance of carrying momentum forward without awaiting a specific calendar date to initiate change. Baylor shares a pivotal moment from his life when he got professionally fitted for golf clubs, an experience that taught him profound lessons about customization and adaptation in pursuit of one's personal best. Throughout this engaging episode, Baylor emphasizes the need for personal customization and adaptation instead of blindly following in the footsteps of others. Utilizing the metaphor of choosing the right golf clubs, Baylor points out that each individual's path to success requires a tailored approach, which means recognizing unique strengths and making necessary modifications. He stresses the significance of small, consistent changes over massive immediate overhauls, reinforcing the idea that sometimes minor tweaks can yield substantial results. By lowering one's "dispersion"—a golf term for precision—listeners can achieve more consistent and impactful outcomes in their lives. Key Takeaways: Aspire for a strong transition into 2025 by embracing change and self-improvement without waiting for calendar prompts. Focus on customization: Like getting fitted for golf clubs, life improvements should be tailored to individual strengths and circumstances. Prioritize small, consistent changes to achieve better results rather than attempting major overhauls. Embrace the concept of "lowering your dispersion" by aiming for consistency rather than sporadic greatness. Open your mind to new perspectives and opportunities, which can lead to significant personal growth and success. Notable Quotes: "Do you want to look like Tiger or do you want to improve your golf game?" "Small, consistent tweaks can have a dramatic impact on how far you go." "Lower your dispersion to focus on consistent results rather than sporadic greatness." "Figure out what works for you, forget how it looks for everybody else."
Kevin Ely spent many years running the brewhouse at Uinta's production brewery in Salt Lake City, but family brought him to a farm in rural eastern Ohio. Built next to the farm where his wife grew up, Wooly Pig (https://www.woolypigfarmbrewery.com) Farm Brewery is the result of applying big-brewery-systems thinking to the smallest, most self-sufficient farm scale. From embracing the imperfect but interesting well water on the farm to side-streaming brewhouse waste via their drove of Mangalica pigs, he's using every tool available to reduce waste and costs while making the highest-quality beer. In this episode, Ely discusses: making farmhouse lagers on a small scale without sacrificing quality gently handling everything—from milling grains to fermenting beer via carefully boiled wort—for a more delicate beer using slightly higher-kilned pilsner malt for better flavor and fullness building character into dunkel with rye malt evaluating water sources and managing their unusual well water creating engaging beer experiences at the farm using livestock to process organic waste from the brewery And more.
