The Atlantic once again published yet another hit piece on Donald Trump this time by a history professor. So we called in the Dean of History, Dr. William B. Allen to analyze the Atlantic critique and give us some guidelines on how to fairly evaluate American Presidents and those wishing to hold the office so aptly defined by the First President. The Democrat National Convention was not bashful about it. Their goal was to create a new story defining America and what it means to be an American. The trick was to do this reality reconstruction by using the same "patriotic" words that we all learned as school kids. Will they and their allies at the Associated Press, ABC, the New York Times and others succeed in this surgical strike on American History? This episode is a prequel to the big show coming this weekend where we take on this subject with Dr. William B. Allen, author, professor, Dean Emeritus, and the favorite guest panelist on The Public Square®. Get started on the story by tuning in today. Constitutional Chats hosted by Janine Turner and Cathy Gillespie
We admit it. We are big fans of federalism. Regular listeners will understand that Constitution grants certain rights to the federal government and courtesy of the 10th amendment, remaining powers are reserved for the states. Does this mean federalism is a function of recognition of states' rights? Our special guest argues this characterization is better suited if we view federalism as a function of decentralized and self-government as it relies on local authority. Join our guest, Dr. William B. Allen, Emeritus Professor of Political Philosophy and Dean of James Madison College at Michigan State University, and our student panel for this enlightening conversation on federalism.
Today we face head on the election results of November 7th, 2023. The conversation begins with what happened and why. We take a historic look on how the battle for life in America can and must be won. Joining us is Dr. William B. Allen, one of America's foremost minds in political philosophy and biblical understanding. Please join in this conversation and please - tell a friend. Thanks. Described in The Federalist as “the celebrated Montesquieu,” Charles de Montesquieu was cited more often than any other author from 1760-1800. In what ways did his writings and ideas help shape the U.S. Constitution and the structure of American government? William B. Allen of Michigan State University, Thomas Pangle of the University of Texas at Austin, Dennis Rasmussen of Syracuse University, and Diana Schaub of the American Enterprise Institute, discuss the political thought of Montesquieu and his influence on American democracy. Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, moderates. This program was originally streamed live on July 6, 2023, as part of our America's Town Hall program series. This week on "CURE America with Star Parker," we bring you several amazing segments focused on race from shows we have aired throughout the past three years. We explore the Biden administration's tactics on weaponizing race to the fullest extent, as they continue to employ these strategies throughout the next year and a half. Their goal is a clear one, to win the presidential election at all cost. Their strategy is to divide us. Star Parker converses with our esteemed Dr. William B. Allen on CURE's amazing tome the State of Black America. We then go back to the inception of CURE America in a revealing conversation with Ryan Bomberger, founder of The Radiance Foundation, delving into BLM. Jonathan then talks with Delano Squires about the history and legacy of Frederick Douglass and how the present sharply contrasts with his vision. Our Raheem Williams, CURE's senior policy analyst delves with Star on our report, The Weaponization of Race.

Today's show opens with me reading some of the key parts of the just released transcript of the House Oversight Committee's interview with Devon Archer. It's one thing to hear a few bites from the Tucker Carlson channel on Twitter, but to get the official testimony carries more weight. The sections I bring to you show how both he and Hunter understood what the Biden “brand” meant and it got them access to opportunities. But, that access was a two-way street. People were not bringing Hunter into prosperous positions just because of his last name. They knew, in so doing, they were getting Joe Biden. This is made even more clear when it comes to the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Devon testified that Burisma would have likely gone under had it not been for the Biden Brand. It not only gave the company an intimidation factor to keep legal questions away, when push came to shove, it got tenacious prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired. Devon goes on to confirm Joe Biden did attend several business dinners and would be put on speaker phone at other business meetings to impress the clients. It was an obvious move to show Hunter could get to his dad anytime it was needed. But what about the firing of Viktor Shokin. Remember, Joe Biden, when bragging about it, said they had to replace him because he was bad and they needed someone who was solid. At the time of the firing, Rep. Tom Malinowski, former Assistant Secretary of State under President Obama, went on CNN to say they had to remove the “crooked prosecutor' in Ukraine “who was not bringing prosecutions in on anybody.” Let's call that THE BIG LIE. What they meant to say was he was getting way to close to exposing just how deep the Biden's (and other US officials) were in with their corruption and he had to be removed. To illustrate, I break down the records of the previous two Prosecutor Generals for Ukraine and we discover Shokin was a machine. He was rooting out much more corruption and had prosecuted more cases than both his predecessors combined. The irony is, when he was fired, his replacement literally did nothing. In fact, the new Prosecutor General even changed the rules to help the CEO of Burisma get out of paying for anything and the corruption charges just disappeared. Switching to the criminal indictments handed down by Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, Kash Patel weighed-in and came to a similar conclusion to what I said on my show yesterday. Donald Trump is going to have a field day with his list of witnesses he will want to bring into court. And let's not think Smith is acting on his own. A reminder of a New York Times piece reveals Joe Biden wanted Trump prosecuted and even made a point of telling AG Merrick Garland to take some decisive action. But, even Alan Dershowitz agrees that even if the D.C. courtroom finds Trump guilty, it will never survive an appeal to the Supreme Court. Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard also weighs-in on just how close we are to losing our Republic. Based on her observation, our system of laws is so corrupt, it's no longer recognizable as the country our Founder created. In other news, more documents show just how bad the censorship demands were on Facebook from the White House. In expletive ridden complaints, the White House wanted more access, more data and more control over the content. And, just like with the Twitter files the content they wanted to censor were true stories about adverse affects of getting vaxxed. So, even truthful information could be considered “disinformation” if it runs contrary to the approved state narrative. Finally, I have to touch on the horrible misrepresentation of the state of Florida's Black History curriculum. Thanks to VP Harris grossly mischaracterizing it, even conservatives have been fooled by the Legacy/mainstream media into believing the content says black Americans “benefited” from slavery. It's preposterous. One of the architects of the curriculum is Dr. William B. Allen, a black professor. I also get word from author Kira Davis on just how wrong everyone is in spreading the Vice President's lies. The sooner we stop watching/listening to the mainstream media, the better. I knew when I saw news of Vice President Kamala Harris claiming that Florida's new African-American history standards for public schools taught that "enslaved people benefitted from slavery," I knew instinctively that this was a lie of unusual medacity even for her. Don't take my word for it: read the curriculum guide for yourself, especially page six, where Harris and the rest of the race-obsessed educrat-complex twists one sentence in the most grotesque way imaginable. The real sin of the curriculum guide, from the left's demented point of view, actually can be seen page eight, where the curriculum mentions including the history of slavery before 1619. Ah—there's the rub. The real reason Harris attacks the Florida curriculum is that it dares to correct the distortions and omissions of the 1619 Project, which has become the platform for saying that America was, and is, purely a slavocracy, and that American capitalism practically invented slavery. One of my principal teachers in graduate school (and a past guest on this podcast), William B. Allen, was one of the authors of the new Florida curriculum guide, and he's been in high demand this week refuting the calumnies of our vice president. I managed to catch up with him this morning to note the obvious irony that the party of Calhoun would be reviving Calhounism just now, but trying to deflect it onto the other party. (Because of course the real reason for this attack is that Joe Biden might face Ron DeSantis as a candidate next year, so better start calling him a racist now.)
Megyn Kelly is joined by Dr. William B. Allen, a member of Florida's African American History Standards Workgroup, to talk about the backlash Florida is receiving for developing curriculum showing the resilience of those who were slaves in America, lies by Vice President Kamala Harris and so many others on the left and right, how it's important to listen to stories of those who have overcome slavery in the past, absurd attacks from the teacher's unions, and more. Then National Review's Charles C.W. Cooke joins to discuss the corporate media's disgusting lies and dishonesty about the Florida slavery curriculum, political reasoning behind the attacks on DeSantis, how this is a logical fallacy of the left, what we're learning about how President Joe Biden may have discussed Hunter Biden's business dealings with him, the key way the White House is now shifting its messaging that may reveal something huge, the possibilities of Biden being impeached if these allegations were proven true, and more. Then Oli London, author of "Gender Madness," joins to discuss his journey and struggle with identity in woke culture, how society affirms these thoughts and the damaging side effects, the bullying he endured that led him to want to go through dangerous surgeries, the effects of social media, how gender surgery can be a form of self-harm, Dr. Phil's great advice that he didn't take at the time, how rediscovering church and God helped him stop pursuing his radical gender surgeries, how he wants to be a positive influence for his followers, a trans Democratic New Hampshire representative arrested over inappropriate pictures of toddlers, a Mr. Beast co-star publicly "transitioning" recently, and more.Cooke: https://charlescwcooke.comLondon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1510778063?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_dp_YNRR7MBX971ZJ6MKX2D2 Follow The Megyn Kelly Show on all social platforms: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/MegynKellyTwitter: http://Twitter.com/MegynKellyShowInstagram: http://Instagram.com/MegynKellyShowFacebook: http://Facebook.com/MegynKellyShow Find out more information at: https://www.devilmaycaremedia.com/megynkellyshow

Are we a democracy or a republic? There is confusion surrounding the United States' governmental structure. Where does the term “democratic republic” fit in? How does it change how we interact with the government? Political philosopher William B. Allen of Michigan State University help us understand these terms better.
This Saturday, Sept. 17, is Constitution Day. It was on this day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed America's Constitution. And while the First Amendment was not ratified until 1791, discussions over the role of free speech and expression in a democratic society were alive long before then. Pepperdine University professor and author Gordon Lloyd joins the show this week to explore how the American conception of free speech came to be, from the colonial era to the ratification of the Bill of Rights. Drawing from over 40 years of research, Lloyd discusses examples of free speech and expression during the founding, ranging from 1641, when the Massachusetts Body of Liberties — the earliest known protection of free speech in the colonies — was published; to 1776, when free speech aided the decision to declare independence from Great Britain; to the late 1780s, when federalist and anti-federalist publications sparked, in Lloyd's words, “the greatest pamphlet war the world has ever seen.” Show notes: The Bill of Rights Online Exhibit on AmericanFounding.org “The Essential Bill of Rights: Original Arguments and Fundamental Documents” edited by Gordon Lloyd and Margie Lloyd The Federalist Papers by James Madison, John Jay, and Alexander Hamilton and edited by George W. Often, there is confusion surrounding the United States' governmental structure. With taglines like the Washington Post's “Democracy Dies in Darkness” or the protest rally cry, “This is what democracy looks like!” it's easy to see why. Where does the term “democratic republic” fit into all of this? In light of that, how does it change how we interact with the government? William B. Allen, professor of Political Philosophy at Michigan State University, will offer his insights in this conversation and help us understand these terms more clearly. In a nation that is tearing itself apart over race, trying to speak honestly about the state of black America is a perilous task. Allen to discuss CURE's recent publication, "The State of Black America." We're also rejoined by panel experts Jonathan Alexandre and Patrina Mosley to sort through the noise of the news in this week's pressing headlines, and examine just how far we've witnessed a collapse in our culture.

In this exclusive Schilling Show Unleashed Podcast interview, Allen examines the often untold successes of black Americans, how we can have more honest conversations about race, and solutions that would reunite a fractured America.
