Send us a textWhen we describe artists we typically describe them in terms of their medium: a musician, a scuplter, a painter, a poet, etc. But what does it really mean to be an artist or, for that matter, to be creative? Can you be an artist without a medium? How do we think about or describe the creative act? What might life look like if we were to view it as a work of art?In today's episode of the Psychedelic Therapy Frontiers podcast, we discuss these questions and more with special guest, Haymitch St. Stephen. Haymitch is an artist and contemplative who is dedicated to helping others cultivate creativity as a spiritual practice. One of his recent creative projects that we discuss in this episode is his book, Friend of the Devil: A story of Mental Health, Mistakes, and Self-Forgiveness. Travis and Jake continue their conversation discussing his book, "What Are Christians For?" Surprisingly, there is a great deal of confusion as to what the role of Christians should be in society. Is it only to be disciples who make disciples? Is it to glorify God and enjoy Him forever? What about in our public life? What role does our Christian faith play in the political sphere? Our vocation? Does it have any effect on the environment? The answer may surprise you. Jake is the editor-in-chief of Mere Orthodoxy, an online periodical seeking to be a voice of sanity in the midst of craziness. His writing has appeared in First Things, Books & Culture, Christianity Today, Commonweal, Front Porch Republic, National Review and Fare Forward. He is the author of two books, In Search of the Common Good: Christian Fidelity in a Fractured World and What are Christians for?: Life Together at the End of the World. Travis and Jake discuss Lincoln, Nebraska, Tanzania, Wendell Berry, N.T. Wright, Herman Bavinck, Francis Schaeffer, Elisabeth Elliot, and what our role as Christians is to be in the world. Navigating the turbulent waters of vulnerability, particularly when it involves the private realms of family, can be as challenging as it is rewarding. In today's episode, we talk about the multifaceted challenges and rewards of leading with vulnerability and how it requires a willingness to expose our true selves, fears, and weaknesses. It means setting aside the armor we often wear to protect ourselves and allowing others to see us in our rawest form. By opening ourselves up to others, we create an environment of trust and authenticity where people feel safe to do the same. One of the hardest things to do is confront someone important to us with the truth. Many layers are underneath it, and it is usually a fear that keeps us from doing it. Today, we dig into these layers and expose these fears. Often, these fears are valid but unfounded, but it takes courage or an extreme situation before we can speak up and discuss a conflict with people we care about. The main thing is knowing the why behind the confrontation and understanding that the ultimate goal is growth. Here's the list of episodes related to today's discussion, and we highly recommend listening to them as well:#228 | Why You Should Care About Your Trauma Response - https://apple.co/48q5Nq1 #246 | Understanding Your Avoidant Attachment - https://apple.co/49evyZT _______________________Connect with Emilia, Bianca & the EVOLVE VENTURES Community:Website: https://www.evolveventurestech.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/evolveventures/Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/EvolveVenturesTech (Public Page)Evolve Ventures Society (Private Facebook Group) - https://www.facebook.com/groups/457130589193794Emilia's IG - https://www.instagram.com/evolvewithemilia/Emilia's TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@evolvewithemiliaBianca's IG - https://www.instagram.com/evolvewithbianca/Bianca's Tiktok - https://www.tiktok.com/@evolvewithbianca?_t=8gq3wqu4fAx&_r=1Learn more about the On-Demand Therapy - #YouDoYou Program: https://evolveventurestech.com/therapy/Connect with Emilia & Bianca from Evolve Ventures for FREE: https://bit.ly/3THiEN4Show notes:(3:26) Fear of hurting with the truth(5:12) Afraid of not being loved(10:37) Sometimes it takes extremes(12:27) Julie gives a shoutout to Evolve Ventures and Bianca for the transformative coaching she received that made a significant impact on her life(14:39) What's keeping you from confronting someone with the truth(21:18) Get help(25:37) Outro***Leave them a 5-star review if you felt their energy, became inspired, or felt as though the value was added to your life in your EVOLUTION.(Stay tuned for this coming Monday's episode!)

Allan shares his journey of creating the comic book series "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar," which follows the adventures of a cyber insurance investigator battling ransomware. While the focus is on entertaining and escapism, there is also an educational component, keeping the technical aspects true to life without boring readers. Allan discusses the catharsis and wish fulfillment he experiences through the comic book medium, allowing the protagonist to do things that are not possible in real-life cybersecurity cases. He highlights the importance of problem-solving and investigation, drawing parallels between incident response professionals and the character's approach to challenges. The conversation delves into the process of turning the story into a comic book format, including hiring artists, finding a publisher, and running a successful Kickstarter campaign.Allan expresses his gratitude for the support he received from the cybersecurity community and the challenges of running a small business. They explore the creative process of adapting technical descriptions into a visually appealing comic book format, emphasizing the need for an independent editor to ensure the story flows visually. Allan reflects on the intersection of cybersecurity and storytelling, discussing the theme of wish fulfillment and the heroic role of threat intelligence analysts.About the Comic BookA new comic book series featuring Johnny Dollar, the star of the 1940s - 60s radio serial of the same name! 660: Is Quality Scalable in Dentistry? - Dr. Christian Coachman & Dr. Tal MorrHave you faced the dilemma between seeking financial growth and also keeping high clinical quality? The size of your practice not only has an effect on a clinical level but it has an effect on the customer service. Identify where you can differentiate yourself and build the model that will leverage the best side of yourself. There's no right or wrong. There's no correct path. It's ultimately what you define as your ultimate goal. Quotes:“I think as a young dentist the first decision you need to make is what is your ultimate objective, because there really are no right and wrong. There are 2 paths you can take: there is the path you can take of trying to achieve the highest quality or there's the path of just practicing, building the quantity of patients that you have…and making your patients happy. Ultimately you have to make that decision. Because what I've always told the young people that I speak to, I said ‘If your objective is to build your name and build yourself as one of the top clinicians, everything you do is a reflection of you.' Meaning, when I started every filling of mine was perfect, every crown of mine was expensive and one perfectly. And I remember when I first started, I worked for a guy and he said ‘you're freakin crazy…you spend way too much time on the patient. You spend way too much money on the technician. You're too picky.' But what happened was everything I did became representative in my community. How? Because my patients would go to see other specialists, they went to see other dentists and they said ‘wow, who did this?'...and I built my reputation that way.” - Tal (3:41—5:26)“There are two ways to grow. One is to see more people, have more dentists, and just do volume. And the other is to increase your pricing…how do you get to the place where you can increase your pricing? It's based on building your reputation as one of the top people. But you're right, it has a ceiling.” (9:48—10:37)“[I'm raising my pricing for two reasons] One is obviously to be compensated for the effort and time and experience I invest. And the second is to…I tell patients I'm...

I get to work with different types of clinicians you have. They all have different ages and experiences, and yet we all come together with the greater good of ‘How can we help this person thrive?'” (02:33) (Dr. Louise)“Everybody has their own story. And before you can ever work with family, you have to join up with that family member. In seven seconds, whether it's a mom, a dad, a brother, a sister, an uncle, a partner, they decide if they like me or not. And, I sit there and I say, ‘Tell me about you.' And I ask them to tell me about their loved one. But then we sort of jump because life is really messy.” (13:23) (Dr. Louise)“I do love [working with families]. And it takes longer when you're working with families. But I won't put a family together until I have a chance to interview them.” (18:51) (Dr. Louise)“I'm really blessed that some behavioral healthcare centers around the country are just giving me the families to work with. I'm sort of like ‘the family whisperer,' which is really different because we're starting because the person is already here. It doesn't mean they'll stay here People recognize how important really good family work is and how we can join up to help move them to change over time.” (22:56) (Dr. Louise)“My ‘why' is my history and my passion for seeing families come out of dysfunction and come into health and be able to thrive, and heal their wounds, and heal their past. You and I both, as you said, have that in common and have been able to do that. And, guess what? We still do therapy. We still do things to make ourselves healthy. I will always go to therapy. I think we all should be in therapy constantly.” (29:51) (Dr. Flowers)Resources MentionedJFlowers Health Institute – https://jflowershealth.com/JFlowers Health Institute Contact – (713) 783-6655Subscribe on your favorite player: https://understanding-the-human-condition.captivate.fm/listen Dr. Louise's Website – https://www.allaboutinterventions.com/Dr. Louise's LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/drlouisestanger/Dr. Louise's YouTube Video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDf5262P7I8Dr. Louise's Number – (619) 507-1699Look for Dr. Louise's Interview on Katie Couric's Podcast ‘Next Question' – https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/next-question-with-katie-couric/id1134154895Dr. Louise's Books:Falling Up – https://www.amazon.com/Falling-Up-Renewal-Louise-Stanger/dp/0996761403/ref=asc_df_0996761403/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312111908051&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6892952231872809156&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004216&hvtargid=pla-568553026293&psc=1Addiction In The Family – https://www.amazon.com/Addiction-Family-Families-Navigate-Challenges/dp/164739225X/ref=asc_df_164739225X/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459417506313&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16397276531253133357&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004216&hvtargid=pla-985817256399&psc=1Learn to Thrive (Free Download) – https://www.allaboutinterventions.com/learn-to-thrive/Silver Tsunami (Free Download) – https://www.allaboutinterventions.com/aging-and-addiction/The Definitive Guide to Addiction Intervention: A Collective Strategy – https://www.allaboutinterventions.com/books/Books Mentioned:The Alexandria Quartet – https://www.amazon.com/Alexandria-Quartet-Lawrence-Durrell/dp/0571283934**The views and opinions expressed by our guests are those of the individual and do not necessarily reflect those of J. You may recognize Sarah Edmondson and Anthony ‘Nippy' Ames from the critically-acclaimed HBO docu-series, The Vow. Sarah & Nippy left a self-development organization known as NXIVM in 2017, and they were immediately thrust into the spotlight, working alongside a handful of other whistleblowers to bring NXIVM's leader, Keith Raniere, to justice. In this episode, Sarah and Nippy speak candidly about the NXIVM curriculum, where it came from (really), what they thought it was, and how it was eventually weaponized against them. Nippy shares his take on NXIVM's ‘exploration of meaning' exercise, and Sarah shares how - despite the early benefits of EMing - the technique was eventually used to coerce her into getting a ‘sisterhood' brand on her body. Candice shares how much she can relate to the mindfuckery of always “being at-cause” and how she's still unraveling it after 16 years. Nippy elaborates, speaking to how this no-victim mentality feeds shame - which is then leveraged to keep people from leaving or speaking out. Sarah breaks down NXIVM's Stripe Path - which is uncannily similar to ‘the Org' hierarchy - and then shares about a moment when Keith Raniere revealed the truth aloud to her - referring to it as something meant to offer "the illusion of hope." Nippy gets uber-honest about the anger he felt when he learned his wife had been branded, and Sarah shares openly about her lingering PTSD and how it's impacted her most intimate relationships. The episode wraps with a disarming response to folks who only want to ‘focus on the good.' Listen in for a crash course in self-development-cult survivorship.[CW: This episode contains brief reference to physical and sexual coercion.] Sarah Edmondson (@sarahedmondson) and Anthony “Nippy” Ames (@anthonyames11) are NXIVM survivors who co-host the A Little Bit Culty podcast where they talk about things that are... a little bit culty. Or in their case: a whole bunch of culty. As whistleblowers documented in the critically-acclaimed HBO series “The Vow,” Sarah and Nippy have a lot to say about their experience, and burning questions to ask people with similar stories. They're here to help people understand, heal from, and avoid abusive situations one little red flag at a time. Listen in as they share their stories, have frank and unscripted conversations with other survivors and cult experts, and do a deep dive on how devotion can turn to dysfunction. I don't do them alone because I make no pretense that someone may fall in love with someone else or bond better with someone else. And that's the way we help move them to change. And, because we deal with such complex families with such high-intensity problems, you need more than one person.” (14:10) (Dr. Louise)“And then we did some incredible family work in your offices where I'll never forget it because it changed their trajectory because what was happening was there was so much unresolved grief and guilt over the loss of a loved one. And, in that moment, that family got forgiveness, got transformation, and started on a different trajectory.” (19:34) (Dr. Louise)“An intervention is somewhat like a living eulogy. George had a conversation with his barber who owned 10 properties at the time. After being inspired by this conversation he collaborated with this sister to buy his first properly. He returned his brand new car in order to come up with the funds to buy the property. He purchased one more property a few years later then changed his strategy. He started looking for land out of state after seeing a post on Instagram about buying land. He found out about the city he started to buy land in on a Home Depot earnings call. He purchased 13 lots of land in three months to start. George currently has 28 lots in Florida, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Wyoming and more. His goal is to buy 100 lots in 2022. During this interview we take a deep dive into his strategy for finding the right location to buy land.In this interview we discuss how to buy land, digital products, future plans and more. 1) Don't over rehab a property. Make sure the rehab matches the standard of the properties in the area. 2) If you want to know where you should buy land, look at where Lowe's and Home Depot are opening new stores.3) If you want to buy land, make sure you're in contact with the local municipalities so you know what the plans are for the future. Don't forget to subscribe, leave a 5 star rating and review! I will be shouting out all 5 star reviews on the show. This episode with Justin Green was powerful!Justin started his career as a teacher and moved up the ranks within education. There came a point where he was facing a layoff and he also eventually felt like he hit a ceiling at work.He had heard about some church members who invested in real estate and decided to connect with them to learn how he could do the same. Eventually, Justin made his first investment and hasn't looked back since then. Several years ago he quit his job as an educator to get into investing full-time.His business is what I like to call a deal machine. When a deal comes to him, he either uses it as a rental, flip or wholesales it. This is an important distinction and because he has multiple exit strategies, he can monetize more real estate deals. In this interview, we talk about mentorship, taking risks, finding deals and more. How to find himIG Pages @justinismycoachHighlights 1) If you're a new investor a mentor can help you get to the next level and avoid costly mistakes. If you have the finances for a mentor, you should consider it. 2) Set up your real estate business to take advantage of any deal that comes to you. For example if you can't buy and hold, you should be able to flip or wholesale. This ensures you can get something out of it. 3) If you're interested in off-market deals, get in your car and drive around to look for distressed properties. Bruce's Beach was a beach resort in the city of Manhattan Beach (in Los Angeles County, California), that was owned by and operated for African Americans. It provided the African American community with opportunities unavailable at other beach areas because of racial segregation. In 1912, Willa Bruce purchased for $1,225 the first of two lots in Manhattan Beach, and with her husband would eventually build the first west coast resort for black people. The property was acquired by the city via eminent domain proceedings in 1924 and closed down. The Governor of California recently signed a bill allowing the land to be returned to the family. On this episode of the Far Out with Faust podcast, Brian Burzynski, founder of Intelligent Threads, the advanced performance clothing that relaxes muscle tension, guides us to the intersection of intuition & invention, of energy healing & human anatomy, and quantum mechanics & entanglement. This southerner has more than charm: from a very early age, Brian began listening to the quiet guidance coming straight from a higher power. Injuries during his teen years led him down a path toward a type of healing that can't be explained by modern medical textbooks — but has roots in ancient, sacred traditions. We dive deep into the humility abyss — that place where we realized we don't know what we don't know. That place that opens ever wider, the more we let go and listen to our own intuition. Brian trained to be an alternative health practitioner and energy specialist in the (non)traditional way: as an apprentice to an accomplished mentor, gleaning knowledge and honing experience and realizing — again and again — that every encounter is a learning opportunity. This training turned into Brian's Synergy Release Method: a therapeutic modality designed to balance the body's skeletal and muscular systems “so that they work together without compensation.” Thousands of clients — including world-class, professional athletes — have relied on Brian's therapeutic techniques to recover from injury and alleviate chronic pain.Exactly how is this possible? Consider Dynamo Jack: the Chi master who could generate energy powerful enough to ignite fires with just his fingers (believe it or not). Or one of Faust's favorites, Neale Donald Walsch, who cursed God for neglecting him — until he realized that he just hadn't been listening. Tune in to learn how a football player with anger issues sent Brian on a pain-prompted quantum journey that later culminated with the amazing development of breakthrough tech, Intelligent Threads — his extraordinary line of clothing designed to energetically release muscle tension upon contact with the body. Billed as the most advanced wearable tech on the planet, it's the go-to performance gear for a variety of professional athletes. Not convinced? Quiet your mind, lean into the weird, and let your higher power guide you without reservation. This episode with Jessica Myers was powerful! The turning point for Jessica was when she got her 5-year plaque to recognize her years of service at her job. She also noticed someone receiving a 20 year plaque at the same job. At that moment, she decided that chasing a 20-year plaque was not the path she wanted to pursue. It was perfect timing because she attended a real estate conference shortly after where she learned about wholesaling. Starting out as a wholesaler allowed her to develop her ability to find and analyze deals. With the help of a mentor, she was able to close her first four deals. Starting off with wholesaling allowed her to build up the next egg that helped her to leave her job. From there she got into AirBnb rentals, revitalizing communities in Brunswick, Georgia, additional real estate investments and more. Next on Jessica's goal list was hotel ownership. She reconnected with her friend, Davonne Reaves and decided to pursue their goal of hotel ownership. Brody Holloway | College Retreat 2021 | Saturday MorningThe World wants to secularize Christianity and abandon the Gospel. People want their own version of Jesus rather than Christ Himself. We need to stand firm in truth or we will fall away with every wind and wave of doctrine. In this message, Brody looks at Daniel’s life in exile and how he resolved not to defile himself with the Babylonian empire. They wanted Daniel to become worldly, but Daniel stood firm and remained faithful to God. Even in slavery, God was still in control. Believer, the world wants the same thing from you. It wants to get to your heart by getting you to love what God hates. The world will promise you things that will appease your flesh. Guard yourself from aiming to be at peace with the world. We are not of this world. When we walk the narrow path, we walk with Jesus. God is sovereign and always has a plan. We must resolve to live with conviction. Remember that your life here is only a temporary dwelling. The Babylonian Empire didn’t last and neither will this world. Trust in the Lord and endure until the end. Today's discussion features Matt Homann, CEO and Founder of Filament, an organization that designs, facilitates, and hosts collaborative meetings, conferences, off-sites and any type of human collaboration environment, with the objective of enabling meetings to produce measurable results that move organizations forward. For more than 20 years, Matt has been involved in the leadership spaces of designing creative experiences in everything including learning, skill building, collaboration and knowledge delivery.
