Calgary Flames President of Hockey Operations Don Maloney joins Neil and Vic to discuss one of the early surprises of the NHL season. Prior to Maloney joining the show, the hosts are giving a nod to a pair of players who are not historically big-time goal-scorers but putting some numbers early. They also credit the Florida Panthers for battling their way through some early season injuries as well as the Winnipeg Jets - authors of the NHL's only perfect record through two weeks.Following the discussion with Maloney, Vic and Neil look at the six clubs with the oldest average age and how each pair is in a very different stage based on their current expectations. A handful of player items is also discussed - most specifically, Bruins captain Brad Marchand being called out by head coach Jim Montgomery following an undisciplined play during the B's overtime loss in Utah. The show concludes with the Human Side of the Story and a look back of how a lesser-known player is actually a very important part of NHL history. IN THIS EPISODE: [01:05] - Quick goal-scoring bursts out of the gate by the Caps Tom Wilson and Ross Colton of the Avalanche. [02:35] - The defending champion Florida Panthers manage a quick start despite injuries to captain Alex Barkov and Matt Tkachuk.[04:20] - The Winnipeg Jets open the season 5-0-0, the only team with a perfect mark through the first two weeks of the season.[09:40] - Don Maloney speaks about the player personnel in Calgary and the goal of making the playoffs with a team not expected to contend.[13:02] - the growth of Ryan Huska as head coach behind the Flames bench.[16:00] - Maloney speaks about the difference of playing in Calgary as opposed to other NHL markets.[19:22] - A discussion about the role of President of Hockey Operations in conjunction with general manager Craig Conroy.[23:40] - The Flames get away early in the season for team bonding away from the ice.[25:50] - With a new Arena on the horizon, the possibility of Calgary becoming more of a go-to for future free agents and more in-depth discussion about building the team.[29:40] - Neil raises the point of the challenge Canadian markets face regarding the economics of taking in Canadian dollars while having to pay contracts in Americans funds.[33:15] - Some reminiscing with Maloney about the 1979 season when the Rangers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final. [37:00] - Neil and Don wrap up talking about their time working together and a couple of high-end draft picks who didn't pan out.[41:00] - Vic and Neil talk about the interesting dynamic of the six oldest teams in the NHL.[43:16] - Player notes from the Montgomery/Marchand exchange in Utah to milestones to a couple of personal items.[47:26] - The Human Side of the Story starts by acknowledging the birthday of Garry Monahan. While only a marginal player during his NHL career, Monahan has a significant place in league history.Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgBj1LV0-DMfBhcRPSJZLjAX: https://twitter.com/NHLWraparoundNeil Smith: https://twitter.com/NYCNeilVic Morren: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vic-morren-7038737/NHL Wraparound Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/nhlwraparound/#NHLWraparound #ShortShifts #NeilSmith #VicMorren #WashingtonCapitals #TomWilson #AlexOvechkin #RossColton #ColoradoAvalanche #FloridaPanthers #AlexanderBarkov #MatthewTkachuk #SamReinhart #SamBennett #RyanLomberg #OliverEkmanLarsson #BrandonMontour #SergeiBobrovsky WinnipegJets #ScottArneil #CalgaryFlames #DonMaloney #HartfordWolfpack #JohnPaddock JonathanHuberdeau #NazemKadri #RasmusAndersson #DanVladar #DustinWolf #CraigConroy #RyanHuska #BradLarson #DaveNonis #BradTreliving #KevinBahl #TysonBarrie #Saddledome #MadisonSquareGarden #ScotiaPlace #EdmontonOilers #VancouverCanucks...

Are you still in contention for your championship? Or keen on picking up pointers for next year? Or just can't yet kick the habit of getting your fantasy hockey fix each week? No matter what the reason, we've got a brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast just for you! The huge bulk of this episode is framed by Injuries and Outjuries. Right off the top, Elan and Brian squabble about whether there's any value left to be had on Long Island with Tavares on the shelf, and get their best told-you-so voices out to comment on the Isles' goaltending situation. They also chat about he 2nd best Panther to own now that Barkov is out, Florida's opening night starter in 2017-18 (spoiler: not Reto Berra), and Philadelphia's opening night starter in 2017-18 (spoiler: maybe Reto Berra??). The guys offer up some replacement options for a banging and mashing blueline Flyer, celebrate the rise and lament the fall of members of he Flyers forward corps, and go ape over the bizarre power play formation in Nashville earlier today (and how it may relate to their confidence in a former 40 goal scorer). They also demonstrate concern for oft-reliable Sharks, all Wild goalies, the Penguins' powerplay quarterback, the Senators' playoff chances, and the future of the Detroit Red Wings. In Outjuries, our hosts wonder if Anaheim really needs to turn all the way back to their returned number one goalie, and marvel at the 22nd thirty-goal scorer of 2016-17 who is doing things that, in the previous eleven years, he was never given the chance to do. They muse on the future of an ageing bounced-back Duck and a rising young Lightning. The show closes with Hot Streaks, where a Leafs rookie is making a case to be taken in the first round, a new Avalanche is making a case for people to realize he's on the Avalanche, a King is getting point for himself but not the team, another interchangeable anonymous Blackhawk takes a successful turn on the top line, a couple goalies who are normally scary are making themselves slightly less scary, and a pedigreed Hurricane d-man is suddenly somewhat reliable in his production. Also, Elan flexes in his sleeveless shirt. And before credits roll, we pay tribute to the teams we've lost and celebrate those that have won. Players discussed on this episode include John Tavares, Josh Ho-Sang, Anders Lee, Auston Matthews, Jonathan Marchessault, Jordan Weal, Sven Andrighetto, Jonathan Bernier, John Gibson, Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat, Anthony Mantha, Henrik Zetterberg, Sean Couturier, Logan Couture, Joe Thornton, Conor Sheary, Jake Guentzel, Justin Schultz, Anthony Stolarz, Vincent Trocheck, James Reimer, Roberto Luongo, Josh Bailey, Andrew Ladd, Jaroslav Halak, Thomas Greiss, Reto Berra, Michal Neuvirth, Steve Mason, Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek, Radko Gudas, James Neal, Kevin Fiala, Ryan Ellis, PK Subban, Roman Josi, Joe Pavelski, Kevin Labanc, Phil Kessel, Jason Zucker, Devan Dubnyk, Erik Haula, Alex Stalock, Darcy Kuemper, Mike Green, Niklas Kronwall, Tomas Tatar, Gustav Nyquist, Cody Ceci, Erik Karlsson, Marc Methot, Dion Phaneuf, Zach Werenski, Seth Jones, Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point, Yanni Gourde, Jack Eichel, William Nylander, Frederik Andersen, Mitch Marner, Alex Barkov, Mikko Rantanen, Matt Duchene, Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, Rick Nash, Kris Versteeg, Jarome Iginla, Anze Kopitar, Tuukka Rask, Henrik Lundqvist, Kari Lehtonen, Tanner Kero, Zach Sanford, Elias Lindholm, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Patrik Berglund, Noah Hanafin and more. * * * Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! As on any given Sunday, go ahead and pop in your air buds-- it's time for little fantasy giants Elan and Brian to help you remember the titans (and not-so-titans) of this week's NHL action in a brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast! In this week's injuries, it's a real case of you don't know what you've got til it's gone with a shelved even-strength stud in Pittsburgh, a still underappreciated centreman in Dallas, and a Lightning forward whose absences from the scoresheet are now further assured. In outjuries, the guys go back to the future in trying to imagine what 2/3 of the Panthers' first line can offer on offesne, and what that also means for former and remaining members of that top trio. They also head to the desert to wonder how excited it's reasonable to get about they Coyotes' likely top scorer, and then move slightly westward for a Kings forward who finally has returned to the lineup. This episode's hot streaks feature your Cane(s) of the Week, a powerless Senators centreman finding his way at even strength, a meh Shark becoming more whoa, Cody Franson???, a re-established Nashville #1, and a challenger for #1 on the Columbus blueline. Cold streaks end the show, with looks at an ever-alarming press box presence in Philadelphia, an unsprung foward in Minnesota, and a flickering Flame. Players discussed on this episode include Jonathan Huberdeau, Max Domi, Seth Jones, Chris Kunitz, Justin Schultz, Jason Zucker, J.T. Miller, Mark Giordano, Shane Gostisbehere, Mark Streit, Kris Letang, Conor Sheary, Jason Spezza, Patrick Eaves, Cody Eakin, Radek Faksa, Jiri Hudler, Devin Shore, Bryan Rust, Nick Bonino, Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Vladislav Namestnikov, Alex Killorn, Alex Barkov, Jack Eichel, Jonathan Marchessault, Jeff Carter, Tyler Toffoli, Peter Budaj, Jonathan Quick, Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Max Pacioretty, Alex Steen, Paul Stastny, Robby Fabbri, David Perron, Jake Allen, Sebastian Aho, Elias Lindholm, Jordan Staal, Jeff Skinner, Derick Brassard, Pekka Rinne, Juuse Saros, Zach Werenski, Sergei Bobrovsky, Cody Franson, Patrick Marleau, Sam Reinhart, Robin Lehner, Michal Neuvirth, Charlie Coyle, Ryan Suter, Dougie Hamilton, TJ Brodie, Mikael Backlund, Pavel Buchnevich, David Backes, Ryan Miller, Jacob Markstrom and more. * * * Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! We break it down from top to bottom: from an overranked forward at 45th overall, to an NHL newbie ranked at 712th, and everywhere in between. Also, have Elan and Brian found this year's version of the Stastny vs. Pavelski bet?Players discussed on this episode include Kyle Okposo, Anders Lee, Artemi Panarin, Teuvo Teravainen, Nick Bjugstad, Alex Barkov, Torey Krug, Chris Kreider, Zdeno Chara, James van Riemsdyk, Ryan McDonagh, David Backes, Matt Duchene, Boone Jenner, Hampus Lindholm, Bryan Little, Ondrej Palat, Derek Stepan, Michael del Zotto, Erik Johnson, Ryan O'Reilly, Alex Tanguay, Mathieu Perreault, Shawn Matthias, Jake Muzzin, James Wisniewski, John Klingberg and more. Also, have you heard about our new fantasy league that we're designing from the bottom up to be the most fun, most competitive fantasy hockey league ever? We fill in some of the remaining blanks about how we're setting up the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey League, and invite you to become a patron and compete against us and a whole league full of other fantasy hockey fanatics.Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! If you enjoy the show, please support future episodes by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson. Roster moves around the league kick off this week's show, as we see an old-but-new #1 option re-emerge once more, an AHL dominator get another crack at a top top six, and the impacts of a coaching change in Long Island. In this week's infirmary, we consider the backup options for a goalie who'd just been finding his rhythm, a goalie who hasn't had a rhythm, a pair of blue-liners who can be trusted to step into high production roles, the Red Wings' top scorer, and whether or not extended absences in Florida are encouraging or deflating for the fantasy prospects on the rest of the roster. In this week's outfirmary: a couple new Rangers who are still establishing their point pace expectations, a dynamic d-man whose gamelog betrays expectations, and a Sabre with whom you'll only ever be satisfied if you maintain low expectations. As usual, streaks abound, including everything being upside-down in St Louis, a former team-leading scorer being demoted to coach-swears-it's-not-actually the third line, a couple of Wild going Wild, an attempt to pass the torch of top production on Calgary's blue line, a top six tourist and a slumping goal-getter in Boston, a top six mainstay in Ottawa who might be starting to play like one again, a long-time top six Leaf making the case that he truly velongs there, and a few goalies that Elan claims Brian has been wrong about. Players mentioned on this episode include Ondrej Pavelec, Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Guentzel, Mathieu Perreault, Andrew Copp, Justin Schultz, Thomas Greiss, Anders Lee, Ryan Strome, Jonathan Bernier, Jhonas Enroth, Rickard Rakell, Jakob Silfverberg, Logan Shaw, Ryan Kesler, Semyon Varlamov, Calvin Pickard, Spencer Martin, Tyson Barrie, Francois Beuachemin, Erik Johnson, John Carlson, Philip Grubauer, Matt Niskanen, Andre Burakovsky, Alex Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, Vincent Trocheck, Reilly Smith, Jussi Jokinen, Jaromir Jagr, Jonathan Marchessault, Thomas Vanek, Anthony Mantha, Mike Zibanejad, Rick Nash, Pavel Buchnevich, PK Subban, Viktor Arvidsson, Tyler Ennis, Jaden Schwartz, Alex Steen, Paul Stastny, Vladimir Tarasenko, Jake Allen, Carter Hutton, Pheonix Copley, Nino Niederreiter, Zach Parise, Jason Pominville, Dougie Hamilton, Mark Giordano, TJ Brodie, Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Frank Vatrano, David Pastrnak, David Backes, Tyler Bozak, Jordan Eberle, Bobby Ryan, Mike Condon, Ryan Miller, Cam Ward, and more. * * * Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! After a two week 'break' that saw us release two bonus episodes, Elan and Brian are back for the first 'regular' episode Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast of the year. This edition opens with an injury and a rant, as Brian lets the world know what he thinks of 'clean hits' in the wake of Patrik Laine's concussion. The guys go on to pinpoint a few rosters that have been hit particularly hard by the injury bug-- Nashville, Montreal, and Florida-- and assess the absences of a scoring winger that poolies, Kings fans, and maybe even Anze Kopitar would love to have back, as well as a first line forward in the desert who is obviously Martin Hanzal. Outjuries come next, with the guys rueing the return of not just a goalie but a goalie controversy in Philadelphia, lauding a rejuvenated lot of top six forwards (and perhaps another goalie controversy to be imminently reignited) in Tampa Bay, wondering whether there's room for more than one productive blueliner in Pittsburgh, and realizing there's not much new to say about the returns of an injury-prone Blackhawk and Hurricane. A short goalie-centric interlude follows, where the league's newest number one goalie's tier placement is assessed, hope is shared regarding a long-standing tandem situation morphing into a clearer #1/#2 scenario, and hope is dashed by two guys who refuse to run away with the starters' job when given the opportunity. Hot streaks feature an entire line of flaming Flames, a near-entire top six of Wild running wild, and an entire touchdown of Leafs who are making it harder to use the word 'Leafy' as a negative connotation. A surprising scoring leader in Vancouver, not either of the first three blueliners you'd guess in Washington, a couple young Red Wings and a pair of Pups (that's what you call a baby shark) round out the segment. And finally, the show closes with cold streaks, with unsurprising visits to the infamous 3rd line in St Louis, and the higher lines in Colorado. Players mentioned on this episode include Patrik Laine, Mikael Backlund, Bo Horvat, Michael Frolik, Kevin Fiala, Aaron Ekblad, Tyler Johnson, Victor Hedman, PK Subban, Matthew Tkachuk, Kris Letang, Justin Schultz, Connor Brown, Zach Hyman, Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter, Ryan Strome, Kevin Labanc, Timo Meier, Jacob Trouba, Drew Stafford, Nik Ehlers, Joel Armia, Mark Scheifele, Dustin Byfuglien, Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm, Ryan Ellis, James Neal, Viktor Arvidsson, Juuse Saros, Pekka Rinne, Tyler Toffoli, Milan Lucic, Jake Muzzin, Alec Martinez, Alex Barkov, Nick Bjugstad, Seth Griffith, Alex Galchenyuk, Brendan Gallagher, Paul Byron, Philip Danault, Nathan Beaulieu, Martin Hanzal, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Radim Vrbata, Michal Neuvirth, Steve Mason, Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat, Jonathan Drouin, Vladislav Namestnikov, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Ben Bishop, Marian Hossa, Artemi Panarin, Jonathan Toews, Vinny Hinostroza, Justin Faulk, Ty Rattie, Derek Ryan, Victor Rask, Jeff Skinner, Jaroslav Halak, Thomas Greiss, Andrew Ladd, John Gibson, Jonathan Bernier, Brian Elliott, Chad Johnson, Alex Chiasson, Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, TJ Brodie, Charlie Coyle, Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu, Zach Parise, Eric Staal, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, James van Riemsdyk, William Nylander, Jake Gardiner, Morgan Rielly, Dmitry Orlov, Loui Eriksson, Anthony Mantha, Andreas Athanasiou, Alex Steen, Jaden Schwartz, Tyson Barrie, Matt Duchene, Torey Krug, John Klingberg, Jon Carlson and more. * * * Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! Want to know what's on Brian's shelf? Well, you're in luck: the 126th episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast tells you that, and more! With the "more" being cutting edge and deeply informative fantasy analysis on the most important hockey news of the past week. Big things are expected from this week's outjuries, as it's October in December for poolies who have Jack Eichel or any of his linemates. How much can he do for them? Same question for high-end forwards returning to boost top sixes in St Louis, Winnipeg, New Jersey, Pitsburgh and Calgary. In a brand new segment this week, entitled Appendectomies and other Injuries, Elan and Brian discuss whether Scott Darling is the de facto number one on the league's top team while Corey Crawford is out, or whether that title can't possibly be bestowed on Chicago if Crawford's not in their lineup (not to mention Toews). We also mention a couple fallen Stars, and an unheralded Avalanche blueliner who will be dearly missed by his owners for the duration of his injury. Hot streaks on this edition include a feast-or-famine Oiler who's currently feasting, a Bolt who quietly stepped up in Stamkos's absence, a Senator whose buy low window may now be closed, a shooting and hitting Blue Jacket with a couple recent points to his name, a Bruins D left for dead, a Coyote leading his team in scoring, and a Red Wings rookie riding shotgun with a streaking vet. Cold streaks include a Dallas d-man, so disempowered players in Montreal, a demoted Coyote, a heretofore PP1 contributor in Columbus, and so many of the Florida Panthers. Players featured on this episode include Jack Eichel, Alex Steen, Taylor Hall, Conor Sheary, Marc-Andre Fleury, Matt Murray, Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Chad Johnson, Alex Barkov, Corey Crawford, Scott Darling, Roberto Luongo, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Julius Honka, John Klingberg, Jason Spezza, Erik Johnson, Tyson Barrie, Francois Beauchemin, Leon Draisaitl, Oscar Klefbom, Andrej Sekera, Valtteri Filppula, Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone, Kyle Turris, Erik Karlsson, Anthony Mantha, Henrik Zetterberg, Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher, Anthony DeAngelo, Brandon Saad, Boone Jenner, Cam Fowler, Sami Vatanen, Sam Gagner, Radim Vrbata, Sam Reinhart, Evander Kane, Rasmus Ristolainen, Nik Ehlers, Blake Wheeler, Vladimir Tarasenko, Kevin Shattenkirk, Colton Parayko, Travis Zajac, Adam Henrique, and more. Elan and Brian have all the tips and analysis you'll need to recover on this week's episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast. We cover a whole slate of lesser-owned players who are hot and ready to contribute to your fantasy team, including a Long Island blue-liner, a feisty Maple Leaf, an under-the-radar young Sabre, a rookie Blue, and an I-didn't-even-know-he-was-a Devil. First off, an announcement: after the success and positive feedback from last week's live show, we've decided to do it again! You can join the Blab hangout at keepingkarlsson.com/live.This brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast begins with a late-season Smörgoaliesbord reprise, in which Elan and Brian rank a smattering of largely unproven and somewhat undesirable goalies that are being pressed into action in Columbus, Montreal, Winnipeg and Arizona. We continue on with news and analysis of the latest injuries and outjuries-- and a trade!-- and how they've affected depth charts around the league especially on the back-end in Florida, Ottawa, St. Louis, Minnesota and Vancouver. Finally, we break down some of the hottest fantasy performers of the last 10 days, including an unlikely trio of Panthers, a not at all but kind of related pair of Avalanche(s?), a zanily-deployed Senator, and a freshly promoted Predator.Players discussed in this episode include: Sergei Bobrovsky, Joonas Korpisalo, Carey Price, Ben Scrivens, Connor Hellebuyck, Ondrej Pavelec, Kari Ramo, Jonas Hiller, Loui Domingue, Anders Nilsson, Laurent Brossoit, Jason Spezza, Patrick Eaves, Patrick Sharp, Alex Edler, Brandon Sutter, Chris Tanev, Ben Hutton, Bo Horvat, Radim Vrbata, Jonas Brodin, Jared Spurgeon, Matt Dumba, Charlie Coyle, Jason Pominville, Alex Barkov, Vincent Trocheck, Jussi Jokinen, Reilly Smith, Alex Pietrangelo, Colton Parayko, Jaden Schwartz, Dion Phaneuf, Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner, Connor McDavid, Taylor Hall, Leon Draisaitl, Jarome Iginla, Blake Comeau, JP Pageau, Calle Jarnkrok and more!* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! If you enjoy the show, please support future episodes by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson. While Elan is off doing god knows what in Vegas, Brian takes the reins on this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast.Brian isn't going at it alone, though-- Hockey PDOcast's Dimitri Filipovic steps in to guest host as we fly through this week's most pertinent poolie particulars. We look at an unusually high volume in changes to top lines across the NHL, including those in Columbus, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, Chicago, Long Island, Dallas and Florida, as well as the newest opportunities available to some hungry up-and-comers that might just be ready to start producing. We also compare the production of the players on two of the hottest lines in the league-- these guys are not only putting up points, but they're doing it while wearing NHL crests long associated with scoring scarcity and boring hockey (though that reputation may be proving harder to shake for one particular locale).Players discussed on this episode include Nick Bjugstad, Brent Seabrook, Adam Henrique, Pascal Dupuis, James Neal, Lee Stempniak, Trevor van Riemsdyk, Dmitri Jaskin, Jori Lehtera, Mattias Janmark, Mike Cammalleri, Erik Karlsson, Colton Parayko, Duncan Keith, Alex Barkov, Jaromir Jagr, Jaden Schwartz, Mike Green, Brendan Smith, Niklas Kronwall, Evander Kane, Matt Moulson, Johan Larsson, Teemu Pulkkinen, Paul Stastny, David Backes, Scotty Upshall, Jonathan Huberdeau, Michael Neuvirth, Steve Mason, Jaroslav Halak, Thomas Greiss, Chris Kunitz, David Perron, Ryan Johansen, Brandon Dubinsky, Radim Vrbata, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Ryan Strome, Kyle Okposo, Matthew Nieto, Joel Ward, Viktor Tikhonov, Antti Raanta, Mike Fisher, Mike Ribeiro, James Neal, Trevor Daley, Andrei Markov, Alex Semin, Jeff Skinner, Patrick Sharp, Max Domi, Tobias Rieder, Anthony Duclair, Sergei Bobrovsky, Craig Anderson and more.Be sure to check out Hockey PDOcast on the web, on iTunes, on soundcloud, and on Patreon! And we highly recommend you follow Dimitri on Twitter @DimFilipovic.* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! If you enjoy the show, please support future episodes by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson. Do you like Mark Borowiecki? Do you like loud yeses? If yes, then you'll love the opening to this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast-- and you'll hopefully find some value in the fantasy hockey news, analysis and advice that follows, too! Elan and Brian kick off the show with a visit to the infirmary, where they consider whether there's already a perfectly capable replacement for Kris Letang in Pittsburgh, whether there's anyone even left to play for the Habs, how the heck Cory Conacher found his way back into the Lightning lineup (and use this as a springboard to consider whether Victor Hedman is a top ten keeper defenseman), who the heck this Seth Griffith guy is that appeared in the midst of Marchessault's returns and departures to the lineup, and whether there's any meaning in Pastrnak's injury for Patrice Bergeron's fortunes rest of year. Then they head over to the outfirmary, where they question Avs' management's handling of their should-be-peaking captain, wonder what Chicago's lines will possibly look like going forward, and chatter about whether anyone playing with the Flames' two best forwards is worth owning. In hot streaks, they bicker (again!) over the future of a Duck on fire, a recently snoozing Senator, another blueline producer in Toronto, a Tavares linemate in Brooklyn, a sizeable chunk of the top nine in Minnesota, a Barracuda temporarily(?) evolved into a Shark, the obvious number one goalie in New York, and a guy who is awful but throws a billion hits, so he's got that going for him. And just a couple cold streaks this week, featuring this week's victim of the St Louis Blues shuffle (but is there more to it than that?), a Star whose lost his grip on the coattails he's been riding, and a curiously underperforming super Star whose once long coattails have suddenly shrunk. The show closes off with a few guys Brian tosses in at the end, including a dream sequence still continuing in Carolina, a secretive resurgence in Washington, and the very early seeds of a crease controversy for a Pacific team that's been without one for ages. Players featured on this episode include Justin Schultz, Patric Hornqvist, Patrice Bergeron, Frank Vatrano, Kris Letang, Jeff Petry, Seth Griffith, Jonathan Marchessault, Alex Barkov, Jaromir Jagr, Jussi Jokinen, Cory Conacher, Victor Hedman, Tyler Johnson, Gabriel Landeskog, Jarome Iginla, Jonathan Toews, Artem Anisimov, Marian Hossa, Kris Versteeg, Sean Monahan, Troy Brouwer, Johnny Gaudreau, TJ Brodie, Mark Giordano, Chad Johnson, Brian Elliott, Rickard Rakell, Sami Vatanen, Shea Theodore, Corey Perry, Bobby Ryan, Jake Gardiner, James van Riemsdyk, Nazem Kadri, Anders Lee, Josh Bailey, Eric Staal, Nino Niderreiter, Mikko Koivu, Timo Meier, Henrik Lundqvist, Antti Raana, Mark Borowiecki, Alex Steen, Patrick Eaves, Jamie Benn, Derek Ryan, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Antti Niemi, Pekka Rinne, Juuse Saros and more.
