We have a new puppy, Winston. He bites. Sleeps. Eats. (Does one or two other things.) Oh, and he digs. Winston doesn’t dig casually. He tunnels. Like he’s escaping from prison. It’s compulsive, ferocious, and filthy. Why does that dog dig so much? I wondered recently. Then it hit me: I’m a digger, too—prone to “digging” into myriad things I hope will make me happy. They’re not always even bad things. But when I fixate on finding satisfaction in something apart from God, I become a digger. Digging for meaning apart from God leaves me covered in dirt and longing for something more. Jeremiah rebuked Israel for being diggers: “They have forsaken me,” God said through the prophet in Jeremiah 2:13, “and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” God disciplined His people for neglecting to seek Him. They’d dug their own wells in an attempt to quench their deepest thirst. But God reminded them that He alone is the “spring of living water.” In John 4, Jesus offered this living water to the woman at the well, who’d also done her share of digging elsewhere (vv. 10-26). We’re all diggers sometimes. But God graciously offers to replace our fruitless digging for fulfillment with His water, which alone satisfies the deep thirst of our souls.

Romans 3:1-2 — Is there any advantage to being a Jew? The apostle Paul understands this questioning might come up after all he has said about their guilt. However, his point was to prove that the whole world was condemned by sin before God. In this sermon from Romans 3:1–2 titled “Stewards of the Mysteries,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones explains Paul's words that showed that Jews do have one advantage: they were given the divine oracles of God. They were entrusted with the living revelation of God's word and were tasked with keeping it safe and spreading the truth to others. Dr. Lloyd-Jones argues that there is no higher privilege for any human than to be spoken to directly by God. God spoke to Moses by giving him the Ten Commandments and Moses brought them to God's chosen people, the Jews. To have this kind of knowledge should lead to repentance and to seek salvation from God. In the same manner, does the Christian understand what kind of advantage it is for them to have an open Bible? They have the living Word of God in front of them and are entrusted to keep the truth and share it with others.

Pastor Micah Stephens preaches from Acts 24, urging believers to embrace the whole counsel of God with unwavering obedience, even in the face of persecution. Reflecting on Paul's trial before Governor Felix, he contrasts the flattery of Paul's accuser, Tertullus, with Paul's bold, Spirit-led defense of the gospel. Pastor Micah connects Paul's resolve to his own commitment to proclaim truth, referencing his Ventura County Star interview and Pastor Rob's fearless preaching. He challenges the congregation to reject the temptation to delay obedience for a “convenient time,” emphasizing that righteousness, self-control, and impending judgment demand immediate action. Amid personal concerns like the Epstein files and global injustices, he encourages steadfast faith, trusting God's plans over worldly comfort, to secure an eternal legacy.Verse References: Acts 24 verses 10–27, Acts 20 verses 26–27, Proverbs 20 verses 22–23, Mark 13 verse 11, Matthew 5 verse 11, Philippians 3 verse 8, John 16 verse 33, Hebrews 9 verse 27, Hebrews 3 verses 12–15, Acts 23 verse 11, 1 Timothy 6 verse 11Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information!https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL returns to our watchlist with another episode from its triumphant season 8, possibly one of the best runs in all of television history. Using its “human of the week” format, TBAA stars Roma Downey as Monica, Della Reese as Tess, John Dye as Andrew (the angel of death) and Valerie Bertinelli as the dumbass angel-in-training Gloria (our favorite character.) Gloria and Andrew figure prominently in “The Birthday Present”, the story of a mail carrier accidentally uncovering brutal child abuse in an idyllic suburban neighborhood. Mailman Chuck, portrayed by frequent Christian media star and former sitcom actor Kirk Cameron, is struggling with the death of his grandmother when he accidentally kills a boy with his mail truck after the boy suddenly runs into the road. When apologizing to the boy's father, Chuck encounters a loaded gun carelessly disposed of in the front yard and realizes the young boy ordered it illegally off the internet to kill his father. Meanwhile, the boy's sister is missing after hiding from her father's abuse in a nearby nuclear bomb shelter (???) and being protected by Tess, who for some reason talks in baby voice the whole episode. In typical TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL fashion, human and angel stories weave together effortlessly to prove that God endlessly punishes the weak while enabling their oppressors — and this is a good thing. The addition of Kirk Cameron's confident guest starring performance fully bridges the gap that TBAA straddles between niche Christian entertainment and mainstream pop culture. Friends of the Rosary,Today, Sunday, the 13th, when we remember the third apparition of Fatima, the Gospel of Luke (St. Luke 10:25-37) tells the parable of the Good Samaritan, a powerful lesson about mercy toward those in need.St. Augustine identifies the good Samaritan with our Lord, and the wounded man with Adam, the symbol of all fallen mankind.Christ Jesus, seeing man's wounds and moved by compassion and piety, comes down to earth to cure man's wounds, making them his own (Is 53:4; Mt 8:17; 1 Pet 2:24; 1 Jn 3:5).St. John explained that God sent His only Son into the world so that we might live through Him, love one another, and see our sins expiated. This parable leaves no doubt about who our neighbor is (anyone who needs our help) and how we should love them, not by having the right feelings, but by taking pity, being compassionate, and serving their spiritual or corporal needs.Christians should never distance themselves from others' needs. One way to express love for one's neighbor is to perform the "works of mercy.”There are fourteen such works, seven spiritual and seven corporal.• To convert the sinner;• To instruct the ignorant;• To counsel the doubtful;• To comfort the sorrowful;• To bear wrongs patiently;• To forgive injuries;• To pray for the living and the dead. The Corporal Works of Mercy are:• To feed the hungry;• To give drink to the thirsty;• To clothe the naked;• To shelter the homeless;• To visit the sick;• To visit the imprisoned;• To bury the dead.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! Summer at City A Consuming Fire & An Unshakeable Kingdom Hebrews 12:25-29 25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.” Deut. 4:24 ESV "For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God." Consuming: completely filling one's mind and attention; absorbing. "It's not that we don't want God; it's that we've found a thousand things we want more than God." - Ravenhill God's fire produces missional clarity “yet there is a spiritual force which may well be described as a shaking. It is only when the tree of the nation has a thorough shaking, that at last the prime, ripe fruit will drop down into the great Master's lap. He shakes by Providence, by the movement of the human conscience. He shakes by the impulses of his Holy Spirit; he shakes the human spirit, and as a result persons out of all the nations are brought to himself. Stones that he would have, come at last out of the quarry, and he builds them up into a temple.” -Spurgeon Haggai 2:6-7 NIV “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the Lord Almighty" Chemdah: the desire/desired of all nations 2:7b Revelation 5:9 NIV "And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation." Titus 2:13-14 KJV "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous for good works" God's fire emphasizes eternal stability v28a. Questions: Are you building your life on the unshakable Kingdom? Does the way I'm living my life in this moment make sense in light of eternity with Jesus? Clint Leavitt believes that every great story we love is actually pointing us toward something bigger. As pastor of Midtown Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, he's discovered how fiction can serve as shadows of the deepest reality, and how narratives can pierce through our purely rational defences to reach the heart. His approach to ministry focuses on creating space for sceptics, deconstructors, and question-askers, building trust through shared stories and artistic mediums rather than demanding immediate belief.   In this conversation, Clint shares his journey from selling flip books on elementary school playgrounds to becoming a Tomatometer-approved film critic, pastor, and author. His latest book, "Cockroaches, God, Death, and Mangos," tells the remarkable refugee story of his friend from the Democratic Republic of Congo, one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history since World War II. Through this friendship, Clint discovered how western colonization continues to impact current refugee crises, and how the church is called to expand its vision beyond national borders to embrace God's heart for the marginalised and displaced.   WEBLINKS The Leavitt Lens Clint on X Midtown Presbyterian Church on Facebook Midtown Presbyterian Church on Instagram   Midtown Presbyterian Church on Youtube

Their imagery, poetry, and theology invite us to deeper worship of God and remind us of his unchanging character.

Join Pastor Andrew as he unpacks the crucial role of context in understanding scripture, using Colossians—a letter written by Paul from prison—to underscore Christ's supremacy as the central truth (Colossians 1-2). Discover how letting the word of Christ dwell richly in you (Colossians 3:16), as paraphrased in the Passion and Amplified versions, impacts every aspect of life. Pastor Andrew illustrates the power of spiritual songs, emphasizing how music's frequencies, when paired with God's Word, can bring profound physical and spiritual shifts, echoing the freedom experienced by Paul and Silas in prison (Acts). Learn to sing from your heart, prompted by the Spirit, for victory and praise (Exodus 15:1, Psalms 100), as a means of teaching (Deuteronomy 31:19), and as an anchor in challenging times.

Pastor Gabe continues our Summer of the Spirit, with a message titled Life in the Spirit. So often we assume the Spirit only shows up in big extravagant ways or through ecstatic experiences, but more often than not, the Spirit is at work in our ordinary lives. He unites us to Christ and his righteousness, shapes our desires towards the things of God, and will one day raise us as he raised Christ.
