When pivoting your business, what are the things to do and not to do to pivot successfully? Successfully pivoting your business isn't as complicated as you might think. The first step is identifying who fits the new soulmate client description in your community. These people will become your low-hanging fruit. Be consistent when pivoting your business. Jen has already been talking about time management but with stepmoms, not specifically entrepreneurs. However, because she has entrepreneurs within her community of stepmoms, time management should continue to be a consistent focus. Communication is crucial for successfully pivoting your business. People will respect that you are upfront with them about changing your business. Invite them to continue to follow your journey. Even if they are not your new ideal client, they may become your new ideal client. In addition, if people in your community fit the new ideal client description, they will become your support system, first clients, or source of word-of-mouth referrals. What do you do about your podcast when changing your business? If you are pivoting your business and have a podcast, you may feel you have additional problems on your hands. However, you can simplify this transition. When you have built a successful podcast that is highly ranked, has a following, and has many reviews, there is no reason to scrap what you've built and start over. Pivoting a business can be time-intensive and overwhelming. Don't add starting your podcast over from scratch to your to-do list if you don't have to. Remember that you have a built-in audience who will follow you to the new podcast and help spread the word because they already know, love, and trust you. On the new podcast graphic, you can include the phrase, formerly known as, so that people can readily recognize that you are the host and will be sharing the same quality of content. You can keep your brand assets to help you stay recognizable and capitalize on the brand you've already built. Incorporating your former key phrases with your new podcast allows you to maintain some SEO stability as you transition the show. This means your name, keywords relating to your soulmate clients, and the solution you provide for them, i.e., time management for women, time management for stepmoms, time management for entrepreneurs, time management for women entrepreneurs, and time management for entrepreneurs who are stepmoms. If your focus was formerly on time management for stepmoms, now you are linking time management to your new audience of women entrepreneurs. Your URL is important - take it with you. Any time you change your business name or podcast name and URL, redirect the old URL to the new URL. That way, if people search for your past name or URL, they will be redirected to your new show and business. This will help you avoid broken links. Learn more about and connect with Jen Rogers.  More on how to successfully pivot or rebrand your business.  Apply for a Thinking it Through Wins and Wisdom Feature on The Robyn Graham Show.

Welcome back to The Literary Life Podcast and our series discussing Howards End by E. M. Forster. This week Angelina Stanford and Thomas Banks cover chapters 26-34. Together they continue to talk about the ideas Forster is presenting in the book as seen in this section, including Howards End as a character, the echoes of Wind in the Willows (thanks to Jen Rogers!), Helen's idealism, Margaret and Henry's conflict, the idea of rootedness, and more. On March 7, 2024 you can join Thomas and his brother James live for a webinar on King Alfred the Great. Register today at houseofhumaneletters.com. The webinar recording will also be available for lifetime access after that date. Commonplace Quotes: Everything has been said already; but since nobody was listening, we shall have to begin all over again. Toutes choses sont dites déjà; mais comme personne n'écoute, il faut toujours recommencer. Andre Gide, from “Narcissus” It is under these “present conditions” of materialism, urbanization, and cosmopolitanism that Howards End poses the question, “Who shall inherit England?” This question is given a lyrical resonance shortly after Margaret tells Helen of her intention to marry Henry. The two women, visiting Aunt Julie at Swanage, gaze across Poole Harbor and watch the tide return. “England was alive, throbbing through all her estuaries, crying for joy through the mouths of all her gulls, and the north wind, with contrary motion, blew stronger against her rising sea,” the narrator records, and then asks: “What did it mean? For what end are her fair complexities, her change of soil, her sinuous coast? Does she belong to those who have moulded her and made her feared by other lands, or to those who had added nothing to her power, but have somehow seen her, seen the whole island at once, lying as a jewel in a silver sea, sailing as a ship of souls, with all the brave world's fleet accompanying her towards eternity?” These questions are at the heart of the book. More crudely stated, they ask whether England belongs to the imperialist or to the yeoman, to those who see life steadily or to those who see it whole, to the prosaic or to the poet. Put another way, they ask whether the inheritors of England are to be people of action or vision. Claude J. Summer, from “E. M. Foster” To E. M. Forster By W. H. Auden Here, though the bombs are real and dangerous, And Italy and Kings are far away, And we're afraid that you will speak to us, You promise still the inner life shall pay. As we run down the slope of Hate with gladness You trip us up like an unnoticed stone, And just as we are closeted with Madness You interrupt us like the telephone. Ever wonder what your stepkids are thinking?!  You're not alone, stepmom. We've got you, stepdad! The reason blending families feels so hard is because creating stepfamilies IS HARD!!! From our guest: "We're humans. So it's going to be hard.  I don't even fault my dad or my stepmom or my stepdad for the way they handled the situation. They handled it the best way they knew how; it just doesn't have a great outcome, but we're humans. So, it's a learning process. I hope by me speaking that it can impart some kind of deep pondering on to the adults listening."Whew! Powerful words from our next guest, Terri Smith, Founder of Freshen Up and stepdaughter of two families who experiences significant transitions as Terri's parents determined how best to raise her.  As stepparents still processing the impact of stepfamily dynamics, we appreciate Terry's nuggets of wisdom! How many of you have kids with phones? About how many apps do your kids use? How much time do they spend in these apps with their friends? Whether or not you have teens or tweens, there's a chance you may not have the answers to some of these questions, or you feel confident that your kids would not do inappropriate things online. They know the boundaries. What if the people on Tik TOK don't care about your boundaries? What happens if your kids are influenced by kid imposters on Snapchat? What if your kid was invited to meet somebody in person after connecting on Instagram? If you want your children to be safe online, it's important that you have the answers to these questions and more. This week, Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE! interviews Debbie Gates, Founder of Compassion to Act, a faith-based ministry on the front lines of confronting modern-day slavery. They handled it the best way they knew how; it just doesn't have a great outcome, but we're humans. So, it's a learning process. I hope by me speaking that it can impart some kind of deep pondering on to the adults listening."Whew! It's hard enough to navigate money, emotions, relationships, and expectations inside a single relationship, but... What about in blended families with sets of step-parents, step kids, your kids, and your new spouse?! Blending beautifully takes intentional conversations, collaboration, and perseverance to navigate what may seem like an ongoing family construction zone. Bill and Jen Rogers, of the Stepfamily Mission Possible podcast, are here to help us anticipate the complexities and develop a personalized roadmap! In this episode, they help us uncover the “magical formula” to blended parenting. They also share ways to take the sting out of child support and alimony. Plus, they'll teach you how to move from feeling stuck, even if you have very different ideas about the proper direction. Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE!™ How to Lead Your Stepfamily with Influence | Jen Rogers - Faith-Led Stepfamily Coach, Podcast

Welcome to Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE! YOU ARE FAMILY HERE!Did you catch the Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE! tagline? When the idea came to me, it felt so right.  So good. So welcoming! It's focused on the most important aspect of our role in our families. You are family here!  All too often in stepfamilies, we focus on the step. That focus sometimes causes us to forget our gifts.  Our God-given strengths.  Our superpowers. That got us thinking about what to share with you next.  Welcome to episode 38! In this episode we do a deep dive into the first stage of our membership, Start With You. At Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE!, we believe all things are possible with God.  Nowhere in the bible do we find God distinguishing between step and non step families. Do you?  Instead, we read of God's blessings and goodness for marriages.  We read His guidance for how to love with the love of Jesus.  I am reminded of the scripture that graced our wedding invitation, “We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19In today's episode Bill and I explore what it means to Start With You. Remember when you first met? How expectant you were of exciting things between you and your date? Was that really you? Or, was it your representative on best behavior?8 years ago, when Bill and I were dating, it was electrifying!  The hum of excitement was visceral – from the warm feeling inside revealed by the flush on my cheeks to the high energy levels surging through my body – I couldn't wait to spend time with him!  We acknowledged each others' gifts and celebrated them.  We didn't call them superpowers per se, but they were definitely super-powerful! These strengths are key gifts that will help us Blend Beautifully, Together – if – and only if – we nurture them in one another.  In this episode, we celebrate them and discuss how we can use them to parent our families well.  A quick reflection on superpowers: Bill and I re-discovered ours when we took the time to help others focus on their strengths during a stepfamily couples' challenge we hosted earlier this year.  Here's what Bill said, “I'm a synthesizer, taking complex things and making them simple, and Jen is the consummate encourager, so together, we're “Simply Encouraging!”I'm curious, How would you and your partner describe your couples' superpower? Ready to Start With You and recapture that starry-eyed love affair?  Great! Let's get started! We pray you enjoy this episode of Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE!, and if so, rate and review!  Want even more guidance and support?·        Want to join a community of like-minded Christian stepfamily couples?·        Want to get equipped,  feedback & tips off social media, and blend beautifully together?·        Want to have fun with couples challenges and stepfamily coaching? You do?! Welcome to Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE! YOU ARE FAMILY HERE!Season 4 kicks off with a new name and co-host! With nearly a year of hosting under my belt, it's time to shake things up as we build upon the energy of Blended on the Bluff and embrace Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE! Consider it analogous to moving into a new house. As you begin to position furniture and unpack boxes, you make “get started” choices.  The furniture may stay in that room, the plates will likely stay in this kitchen cupboard, the washer and dryer are definitely in the right spot, and this thing in the box, well… “Why on earth did we even move that here?”!As we move into this new season, we explore what it means to put into practice “All things are possible with God.” Yes.  All things stepfamily, are possible, with Jesus at the center. Are things sometimes weird in your stepfamily? Have you found yourself feeling uncomfortable talking about certain things with your partner? As I revved the equipment up to set to record with my next guest, this is exactly what I experienced.  Despite totally enjoying the podcasting format with amazing expert guests in previous seasons, I began to feel unqualified. Nervous.  Flummoxed.But….why?Tune into this week's episode to find out! Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE!™ How to Lead Your Stepfamily with Influence | Jen Rogers - Faith-Led Stepfamily Coach, Podcast

Guess what? The Bluff is getting a makeover! As I hang another number on my birthday tree this week, I'm beginning to see a future vision take place.  It starts with a name. If I were to ask you to give me a biblical example of when God gave someone a name change, who would you choose?Abram to Abraham?Sarai to Sarah?Jacob to Israel?Simon to Cephas or Peter?Hadassah to Esther?Or the writer of much of the new testament – Saul to Paul?I was first struck with the importance of a name change when I got remarried.  I recall a friend asking me whether I was taking my man's last name or keeping my own. After all, my entire career and past 24 years I was known by a different name.  When responding to my friend, I chuckled and thought, “I hadn't really considered this aspect of remarrying before!” And as soon as I said that, I realized I was going to change my name. Better stated, I knew then, just as I do now, that God's hand was in this name change. The new name was yet another sign of dramatic changes occurring underneath the surface.  God had been moving in my life as I had invited him into my everyday.  While I grew up in a church, I didn't have the deep connections, relationships, or mentoring to understand what knowing Jesus was all about.  That's not discrediting those in my circle of influence, it's merely a statement of my lack of knowing and exploring who Jesus was to me. As Blended on the Bluff transitions, we will continue to explore and apply who Jesus is to stepfamilies. I invite you along for the amazing journey where all things are possible with God. And yes, that means being successful in your blend is what this podcast, Stepfamily Mission POSSIBLE!, is all about.  We'll be back in July with makeover art and new conversations and a surprise guest co-host! On today's episode of the Let's Meet For a Beer Podcast, I met up with Jen Rogers - Chief Awesome Officer, Brewer, and Founder of  Wild Winds Brewery. Jen has already had an amazing journey in the beer industry - she's worked at Village Brewery, Last Best Brewery, Railyard Brewery, and back to Village.  Jen is now building her own brewery - Wild Winds Brewery - with her husband Tim in Pincher Creek, Alberta.  What's even more impressive is that Jen only graduated from the Olds College Brewmaster Program in 2019 … with distinction of course!Jen grew up in Newfoundland and moved to Alberta after graduating from Memorial University.  After working in Oil & Gas for years, Jen and her husband Tim decided to follow their dreams and start a brewery.  After years of research, additional education at Olds College, and practical experience at various craft breweries, they have finally secured financing and are ready to make their dreams come true!Pincher Creek will be the home of Wild Winds Brewery, which Jen is hopeful will be operational in 2022.  They fell in love with the town while touring the province - and it sounds like the town is pretty excited to be home to a brewery soon too!  With a passion for outdoor activities like snowboarding and hiking, Pincher Creek is the perfect basecamp for Jen and Tim.  I'm excited for their new adventure and grateful that Jen shared her story with me on the podcast - I hope you enjoy it!Alberta Beer Festivals: website | twitter | instagramWild Winds Brewery : website | twitter | instagram

The first figures are out showing how England’s Test and Trace programme is performing, but they contain a mystery we’re keen to resolve. And we play with some mathematical puzzles, courtesy of statistician Jen Rogers.

CAUTION, AHEAD LIE SPOILERS FOR AGE OF ULTRON, LISTEN AT YOUR OWN RISK! Welcome to yet another salacious edition of Cinepunx where we talk Ex-Fest! This episode’s guest is Jennifer Rodgers (@FinalGirlSG ) who you may know from her blog Final Girl Support Group! The episode also feature’s our own Sean Bennis-Sine, one of our extended members. He is like the Falcon to our…oh wait, Falcon is a regular Avenger in the MCU now. Oh wait, gimme a sec here. He is like the Havok to our 80’s Uncanny X-Men. That works right? For those of you who do not know, Ex-Fest is a 12 hour Exploitation Film festival, all presented on 35mm, put together by our good friends over at Exhumed Films. If you would like to read more of Liam’s thoughts on the fest you can find his review here. You probably don’t though cause he talks a LOT on this episode. Usually when you have a guest on your show, you make room for them to talk. This is doubly true when you technically have two guests, even if one is Sean so he doesn’t count. However, Liam is one talky Mcgee this episode and he feels bad about that. Sorry. Regardless, we discuss a few things as well as Ex-Fest such as: AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON ROAR UNFRIENDED SEAN BEING DRUNK OUR EVENT ON MAY 11TH ZOMBIE DRIVE IN HOW STOKED WE ARE FOR FURY ROAD You get the idea. Also, not in that order. Thanks as always to all of you for listening, and to Jen and Sean for being on the show. SOUND NOTES: It is ok. Gets a little echo effect toward the end. Why does it do that? Most likely because you don’t say your prayers anymore. We are, we hope, going to be making a concerted effort to raise the money to buy new equipment. Wanna help out? Easy, go to this event and buy a shirt. Also, just give us some cash. Also, hit us up with connections to cheap sound equipment. We need a mixer with a usb out, some microphones that are ok, and chords. That is it yall. Ok, thanks again for listening, subscribe to us in stuff, and be cool or whatever. Don’t want to miss an ep?
