The Strategy Hour Podcast: Online Business | Blogging | Productivity - with Think Creative Collective

If you get one thing out of the pep talk I'm about to give you, it's this. The decisions that you make today are not ones that you are marrying forever. Regardless of what you launch, you have an opportunity. Whatever you put out into the world, whether it works or it doesn't, is an opportunity to learn. The world is going to tell you something! And you get to listen. As business owners, we often don't slow down and listen to this nearly as often as we should.  Join The Co-op - The Membership for Online Businesses Connect with Abagail Instagram All the Links! Not everything I have done so far has worked, and I am okay with that! I often learn more from the moments that I would deem as a failure. Today, I don't want you to focus on what could be the most shareable digital product or what would be the most trendy thing; instead, focus on how to solve a whole problem. A template, a script, a guide, or anything designed to make a real difference. The more concrete results you can get for a client, the more they will assign value to you and your business. Episode Highlights The Story of An Early Failure That You Can Learn From How I Came Back From One of the Biggest Flops Ever What You Can Learn From My First Ever Launch A One-Step-At-A-Time Approach To Doing All the Things Your Heart Desires  Thank you for listening! Do you have an existing proven offer you intend to make public real quick? Or are you motivated to put out a low ticket offer and you just can't wait to get it out? Maybe it's a time sensitive offer that has to get out ASAP and you're confused on how to beat the time constraint. We've got you! On this episode of Your Sparkly Brand, we're discussing proven strategies on how to launch your offer ASAP in a way that leaves you feeling satisfied and accomplished. We're also introducing you to our packages specifically tailored to help you launch quickly. Key points in this episode… Meg's TikTok ban makes her realize how much of an incredible community she has built. Lauren creates a new offer. We'd love to hear your feedback. Today, we're talking about launching between a week and 3 weeks. What to consider before you jump into a launch. In the best case scenario, your offer is in existence and tested with your audience. Tap into the assets you already have in place and tweak them to suit your launch. For a low ticket offer, put something together quickly if you're able to. You need a warm audience. Know your audience and know what they need. Get help. Hire a VA if you don't already have one. Set measurable goals. Plan it. Map it out on a calendar. Figure out what you need. Schedule when everything is going to get done. Stick to your schedule. You might need more assets than you think you would need. Take action. Make sure to do a post-launch analysis on how the launch went. Meg and Lauren's packages. 242: Authenticity Wins, How to Grow Your Brand and Business by Becoming Your Authentic Self with Krista Ripma

Dave Lukas, The Misfit Entrepreneur_Breakthrough Entrepreneurship

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 24, 2021 56:28

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Krista Ripma. Krista is the founder of the digital marketing agency, Authentic Audience, which helps transform clients’ businesses by implementing innovative marketing strategies focused on authenticity, storytelling, and selling the truth. She is also the host of the Authentic Audience podcast. Krista and Authentic Audience have been featured everywhere from Forbes to Entrepreneur and her passion for helping others tell their stories and share their truth through radically honest marketing is un-matched. Radically honest. We don’t see that as much as we should these days, and it’s important to make sure we are being true to ourselves and our businesses, so I asked Krista to come on the show to discuss what it truly means to be authentic and honest in today’s world. www.AuthenticAudience.co Krista has always been in to sharing stories and sharing stories. She studied communications and film in college and went to work in film in LA. But the whole industry was inauthentic. She loved the stories, the scripts she read, but the world around her was fake. She did all sorts of jobs and learned what it meant to work hard. From there she went to working with TV networks in health and wellness. During this time, she met a Yoga star who needed help with her brand and Krista helped her grow the brand. She loved it and realized that is she is what she wanted to do. Help people grow their brand in an authentic way. Define Authenticity… It is something that really cannot be taught. It is when you are in alignment and you know when you are. It is when you are walking your talk and being the person or brand, you want others to think you are. It is the lack of fear or doubt – just truth. There is a big difference between transparency and authenticity. As leaders, we have to pick the appropriate time to share things and be transparent – but we can always be authentic. Authenticity is standing in your truth and opening your heart up so others can do the same. How does someone transform their business through authentic? What do they do? You have to answer the 4 most important questions. Who are you? What do you do? Why does it matter? What’s in it for me? (your dream client) Anonymous brands are dead. People want to know who is behind the companies where they spend money. We have to create personal brands within our bigger brands to thrive and succeed. The X-factor that sets your product or service apart is you. Customers want to “be seen” by you and feel like you see them. What is working and what is not in marketing strategies and launches today? The biggest mistake is taking someone from awareness straight to the sale. The best part of marketing is the “consideration phase” which is the time you take to share who you are and what the value of your product or service is and establish credibility. What is working is a longer warm-up/consideration phase where you provide a ton of value before ever giving an offer. Consideration used to be about 7 days, now it is more like a month to do it right. Best practice is a longer warm-up and shorter buying timeframe. Is there a formula that you use for launches? Krista has an e-book called the 90 Day Launch plan which breaks it down week by week of what needs to be done. You can get it at AuthenticAudience.co She discusses her process at the 20 Min-mark, and it is best to just listen. How does someone get leadflow and build a list to market to? You don’t have to have a big list, but you need to have a way to build a list. You will have to invest, and you need the confidence to do so. Lead gen campaigns on Facebook work well – you have to give something of great value for free to be successful. Something that really speaks to your dream customer. LinkedIn is another great place to get leads. It has the most opportunity. YouTube is also a place to be if you create content. Growing your email list is by far your best investment. At the 31-minute market, Krista gives her best advice on selling, both online and in general.. Get your money mindset right. Understand the abundance of money around you and be careful not to let a scarcity mentality stop you. There is so much money out there, it’s everywhere and we are deserving of the piece of the pie as long as we work hard for it. After money mindset is the seller’s mindset. This is the confidence in what you are selling. Your dream customer is why you created your product and service, how can you not sell to them? If you don’t, you have failed them. They need it and are ready to buy. At the 38 min mark, we discuss “asking for the business.” It’s best to just listen… Shifts in online selling? Major algorithm shifts. Much more pay to play. A lot of throttling happening. We have to pay to reach our own audience. Engagement is the secret sauce. The more engagement you have/time spent is the big X-factor right now. For paid media, the market is super saturated, and the competition is fierce. It’s also not more expensive to compete. In order to do well, you have to stand out in a bigger way and you have to innovate and figure out how to do it – even if that means being controversial by being authentic. Best advice for entrepreneurs in today’s world? Get one customer. Launch the thing! Get real eyes on your site/product/service and get feedback. Forget about your logo. Focus on your product and service and the way you make clients “feel.” If you create an amazing customer experience; customers will tell others and you will grow by word of mouth. Pivot as needed because you will have to. You are always launching and pivoting – don’t rest.   Best Quote: Authenticity is standing in your truth and opening your heart up so others can do the same.   Krista's Misfit 3: Stay in your uniqueness. It is your superpower. Stay in service. Shift your mindset to that of service. Self-care. Burnout is around every corner. Establish self-care rituals that help avoid burnout by any means possible.   Show Sponsors: The Good from Caldera Labs www.CalederaLab.com/MISFIT (allcaps) ROI International: www.ROIINTL.com/Podcast

"How to market your business" "marketing strategy" "product launch"   You walk into a group of people (your dream market)... what do you say and do to get their attention?   STOP!   Before you read any further, I wanna drop a truth nuke… Reading this article could either be the best thing you do all day… or a MASSIVE distraction.   ARE YOU READY FOR A PRODUCT LAUNCH?   So before you continue, I want you to answer these quick questions, (and here they are):   Have you studied Market Selection?   Do you have a Product?   Once you have a product, these are some of the Acts of Marketing that you can use to create a ton of noise when you launch.   I've been at this game for six years now,  and hindsight’s 20/20... so looking back, if I give one piece of advice, it would be:   Stop obsessing over:   Funnel types - until you have a product   Offer Creation Methods - until you’ve chosen a market   Your Dream 100 List - until you know who your dream customer is   What to build - until you know who to sell.   Last episode, I talked to you guys about how to select a market, and it's super powerful - I believe it’s where EVERYONE should start when they're trying to decide what to sell…   The big issue that I ran into in college was I was that I knew a lot of strategy... but I didn't have a product…   AND THAT’S WHY I WAS BROKE!    So if you're studying Acts of Marketing without a product…    Stop getting distracted with campaign styles of marketing. If you don't have a product yet, don't worry about this crap.   This is powerful stuff, but you don't have to know EVERYTHING at once.   CASH FLOW IS KING …    First of all, you need to learn:   Market Selection/ Market Design, i.e., How to choose your market…   Start selling before you create the product (which is totally possible).   I made six figures before my product was even done - which is super powerful. Events are the same way. The next OfferMind event hasn't happened yet, but we've already cash flowed a lot on that thing.   You can study market selection without a product, but studying acts of marketing is a distraction.   INSTEAD...   Study product creation.   Study The Seed Launch from Jeff Walker.   It's a great way to get a product out there that you don't even have built yet to get paid for…   There’s no bait and switch, your customer knows that the product isn’t created yet.   What I'm trying to help you understand is…   Acts of Marketing are very different from Market Selection   I believe acts of marketing are the second thing that you need to study. Too many people get distracted by the acts of marketing...   ...and I'm teaching Acts of Marketing today.   I’m gonna teach you how to get your product out there.   So if you don’t have a product yet,  I’d figure out how to choose your market first.   MY NEXT MARKETING STRATEGY?   The BIG QUESTION that I’m trying to answer at the moment is:   How do I sell more OfferMind tickets?   … that’s the thing that I'm trying to figure out right now, and I'm not quite sure on the answer yet; I've got a few places I can take it…   So in this instance, I'm NOT talking about Market Selection, I'm talking about Acts of Marketing… and I’m specifically talking about Launch Campaigns.   There are launch campaigns, and there are evergreen campaigns.   A launch campaign leads to a single day/ event/ time, where all the pressure is released in ONE go.   A launch campaign introduces a product to the market in much the same way Hollywood does with a movie.   (I’ll cover evergreen campaigns in another blog)   But for now, let’s take the Avengers: Endgame…   There was a lot of pressure and a lot of build up.   There were even whole movies ahead of time setting it up.   On the radio, I heard that Endgame is the fastest movie ever to gross $1 billion, or at least they're on track to be. That's nuts!   That’s the fruits of a launch campaign...   Most of the time, people don't design a launch campaign - which is why they don't ever have this BIG injection of cash.   That's why I did the OfferMind MasterClass two weeks ago, (I needed a week to recover  - it was full-on)...   The MasterClass was what we call a Seven-Day Launch and you can read about what we did here.   The seven-day launch is designed for a MASSIVE injection of cash…   And *SPOILER ALERT* -  that’s  what happened. We had a six-figure weekend. BOOM! A huge amount of cash came in…   HOW TO MARKET YOUR BUSINESS...   So we’ve just had a BIG injection of cash… Now, let me ask you a question:   Q: What would be the wrong way to use that money?   A: The mistake would be for me to take that cash as profit…   *I DON'T TAKE PROFIT*   That cash is held in reserve to   Fuel the OfferMind Event.   Fuel Evergreen Campaigns.   Events are expensive, the way I like to do ‘em .   Last year's OfferMind cost me $80 grand - this one's gonna cost waaay more.   Anyway, back to launches…   If someone says to me, "but I don't have money for ads." My reply is, “Cool, don't do ads.”   Ads are an evergreen campaign type strategy.   *This applies to any kind of ad*   Ads, in general, come under the evergreen category.   So, instead,  what you have to do is create a Launch Campaign.   The book Launch by Jeff Walker teaches you about Launch Campaigns, (the name kinda says it all ;-))   The benefit of a Launch Campaign is that you learn how to get a lot of cash.   The con is that it teaches you nothing about how to actually build the rest of the business or an evergreen campaign.   I've already done the seven day launch (and it was very successful. Almost all of the OfferMind VIP places have already gone)... so now I trying to decide what to do next to sell MORE tickets…   WHAT SHOULD I DO?   I documented my journey from leaving ClickFunnels to my first million - that happened fairly relatively quickly…   So now what I'm doing is documenting my journey to the creation and the development of OfferMind.   You're not going to learn the content, but I'm going to teach you how I'm designing the actual event and getting people to it -  which is one of the most stressful things about launching events. Here are my options of what to do next:   Turn on ads for OfferMind   Do OfferSummit   Launch capitalismswag.com   Redo the OFA sign up page   Launch a new freecftrial.com bonus   The One Funnel Away Stories Podcast   Plan a My Content Machine Event   A Secret Project with ClickFunnels   (If you want to watch me go through all this with a whiteboard you can watch on YouTube)   Let’s break this down…   OFFERSUMMIT?   The asset of the internet is your list, so I need to develop a bigger list to pitch OfferMind to.   If you're on my list, and you're NOT coming to OfferMind, it's confusing to me. I'm not throwing rocks at anybody,  but…   *YOU SHOULD COME TO OFFERMIND*   But understand, that there are some people who didn't buy OfferMind and they're like, "No, I'm never going buy, I'm only going to take your free stuff, Steven."   ...and there are people like that.   So I can either work my freakin’ hardest to try to expand my messaging, to try and convert that person…   *Bleurgh… I HATE that*   ...Or I could just expand my list.   That sounds way better to me. So I could do an Offer Summit, get a huge list, and then promote it to that list.   I wanna interview freakin' Bill Glazer.   I really want to interview massive guys,  All the yesteryears' gurus  - I want them.   I'd love to get them to write a chapter. Who did that? Russell Brunson, in the 30-Days Book. I want to do that.   That's going to take some time to coordinate!   CAPITALISM SWAG?   I’m gonna build Capitalismswag.com for the purpose of promoting OfferMind.   One of the reasons I haven't done Capitalism Swag yet is because I was like, “What does it lead to?”   I could just sell shirts, but what does it lead to from a marketing standpoint?   So I needed something built in the middle before that.   So Capitalism Swag is another launch campaign that’ll lead to OfferMind. I'm NOT gonna have the shirts available forever.   It takes time to print and ship the T-shirts.   The only I’ve seen swag be successful is it’s  treated like a launch rather than an evergreen activity.   I'm not in the shirt business, so  each time I release a shirt, they’re only going to be available for three days.   But there'll also be an evergreen aspect to it because I thought it'd be cool to be an exclusive shirt of the month - that I'm never going to print again.   The Capitalist Pig Shirt, I’ll probably leave that up forever because it's freakin' awesome - it ruffles a lot of feathers, and I love that.   It pisses off liberals, which just makes my heart sing and I sleep better at night.     So it's kind of both types of launches, but really, I'm going to use it to promote OfferMind.   OFA SIGN UP PAGE   I want to go redo the OFA sign up page in its entirety. I want it to be awesome. Does it need to be awesome in order to sell? No!   That thing's already made $110,000 just in hundred dollar sign-ups. That's insane!   That single ofasignup.com, ‘not very design-esque, built it in a hotel room before I got on a 2CCX cruise ship’ page…   … that's the power of a bridge page. The power of creating an offer on top of somebody else's. It's crazy.   I also want to redo the network marketing one that Russell just launched. That would be cool. I would love to create my own offer around it.   I think I know what it's going to be. Super sexy… “When you buy through my link, you get all these sick bonuses!”   So the actual marketing network bridge page, that'd be a cool one to go launch.   FREE CF TRIAL?   I'm also thinking about launching freecftrial.com with a cool bonus offer…   How cool would it be if you get a trial of ClickFunnels through me and it came with a freakin' sick offer.   A specific training on how I use Actionetics MD.   There's not a lot of training out there on it.   What if I was the guy that did that, but you got it as a bonus by getting ClickFunnels through me? That's awesome.   OFA STORIES PODCAST   Oh, you know what would be a fun one from an evergreen standpoint that’d be incredibly powerful?   It's funny because some people out there have gone out and they're using the phrase ‘One Funnel Away Challenge’. It's a freakin' trademark of ClickFunnels.   They’re gonna have a huge issue with that.   I have written permission, as their coach, to launch a One Funnel Away Stories Podcast.   I'm gonna interview tons of people who were just one funnel away:   Ordinary people   Famous people   People who were living in the gutter   ... all their stories and what they did to have success with ClickFunnels.   That'd be really, really awesome. To pull the OFA podcast off is gonna take a lot of spin up.   We republish my content machine to 22 places - so we have to set all that up!   MY CONTENT MACHINE LIVE EVENT   Another strategy that I'm thinking about using is to have a small one-day event where I teach you my content machine at OfferMind depth.   I didn't start it that way….   There are two phases to content production:   The crawl phase   The sprint your face off phase   It’d be fun to have content machine hardcore MasterMind that's like 12 hours long where I deep dive... mixed with Q&A's/workshop throughout.   If I were to record that and sell it afterward, but give away a ticket…   I could build an entire campaign around it...   I thought it'd be cool to create some sick, awesome bonuses. Really valuable stuff that I see that everyone needs that no one really makes.   Why don't I just go make that stuff, but then give it away as a bonus?   Like, “Hey, Yeah, that's just like a taste of what OfferMind is. Why don't you come get an OfferMind ticket? Here's a little discount as a thank you.”   ADS?   Ads aren't a campaign. They’re part of a campaign, but they’re NOT a campaign.   As a marketing society, we're losing the term ‘campaign.’   The 7-Day Launch brought in the money for the OfferMind ads -  so we can turn those on now. I just need to do a few meetings with my ads team.   I'm just trying to figure out the order of what to launch?   May was an insane month for me.   I spoke at an event literally every week the entire month of May, and one of was my own event OfferLab.   I wrote about OfferLab a few weeks ago - I'm NOT  just pitching you. I'm telling you how I crafted an event like OfferLab - so it's pretty cool.   ACTS OF MARKETING   I’ve been through market selection and now, this is Acts of Marketing.   I could go create a webinar just for OfferMind - that's an act of marketing.   It would start as a launch campaign, but I could turn it evergreen if I wanted to.   I have friends who sell out their entire events with just webinars… If you’re thinking, “But it's not an info product,Steve?” Yeah, I know. That's why we say you can use webinars to sell ANYTHING.   It's less about the  kind of product, than it is, what kind of campaign you’re trying to create in order to launch your product.   MY NEXT PRODUCT LAUNCH?   So what should I launch next in order to answer the BIG QUESTION:   How do I sell more OfferMInd Tickets?   I think the sickest I could create right now, (which would take some coordination) would be OfferSummit.   My Funnel Team would need to create the pages and all the stuff.   So my thought is to get my team started on that... because that actually needs to happen quite soon…   I want a lot done before I approach big people that I want to speak on it - so they can see it's not a joke.   It'll be a massive list building thing. That's a lot to do, but I think we can do it.   OfferMind's in September, so in order for me to promote, I need to do the summit in July.   My brain works like a Gantt chart sometimes. (If you don’t know what that is, go look up.)   There are a few assets my team needs to finish building the platforms for the OFA podcast just so that they're in flow and motion - which means capitalism swag will probably come before that.   MY FOCUS?   Someone is said to me, "Steve, why don't you just focus?" I am, dang it. What are you talking about’ just focus?’   I’m gonna:   Build an offer   Grow up my list   Pitch a bunch of people on OfferMind   That’s how you skip the freakin' j-curve.   This is where my area of genius is, (I feel weird saying that)... My contribution to the marketing community is Market selection/ Design mixed with Offer Creation.   I don't even know how to create offers without all the stuff that I'm teaching right now.   Unless you're already actively in business and selling, it's very frivolous in my opinion, to waste your time studying Acts of Marketing - you gotta start at market selection.   Little more homework up front, far more security on the launch.   Waaay easier to win.   No one ever talked to me about that, and after a while, I realized that I was stuck on tactics, not strategy.   When I understand some of the strategy pieces behind it...   This is far more malleable than I think people realize.   YOUR COMPANY'S SOUL   There's a book I have… the first half of it was really good. The second half started talking about the business has a soul and respect the soul of the business.   And what is the soul of the company telling you?   I was like, “This is garbage.”    A business is a system that generates a lead and fulfills on it.   That's all a business is. It's NOT fluffy junk. It's something that's designable. It's NOT all art.   I definitely have some of my art and my flair on top of it. I believe some of it's my personality, (which is a little bit forward).   However…   A lot of business is designable, that's the science of it.   Just understand that as you're doing this... So to the person who keeps asking me, “How do you give all this away on your podcast and still have things to sell?”   First of all, this has nothing to do with how things are sold. I used to have that same fear as well.   Second of all, we're just scratching the iceberg, baby. Scratching the very tip of it. There's so much more I do that I don't think people know about.   Anyway, go to offermind.com, and get a ticket. I’d love you to be there.   All right... see you later   Get Rich, Do Good    Oh Yeah!   Hey, wish you could geek out with other real funnel builders... and even ask questions while I build funnels live?   Wish granted!   Watch and learn funnel building as I document my process in my funnel strategy group.   It's FREE.   Just go to thescienceofselling.online and join now. I thought it'd be cool to document what is happening during our 7-day launch of OfferMind Masterclass. The good and the bad…   One of the biggest reasons I've noticed people don't have success with launch campaigns is NOT because your…   Product isn't amazing   Offer isn't good enough   Sales message isn't doing its job   ...it's literally the way that the campaign is brought to the market.   A lotta times, your products are already good - it's just that you don't have a launch mechanism, and you don't understand what a funnel really is…   ...and that's why you don't make a lot of money.   So here’s how I’m gonna help you:   What I’m about to do next is a little bit different - it’s in 3 different sections that span 7 days   PART #1: I’m gonna walk you through a simple 7 Day Launch that I used to sell my OfferMInd tickets - I’d never seen anyone one sell tickets like this... so I thought I’d give it a go.   PART #2: Is kinda a mid launch check in to give you an update on how things are going - what’s working and what’s not!   PART #3: Reviews the campaign as a whole - how did it go, what I learned, and what I wish I done better?   HOW TO LAUNCH A PRODUCT HOLLYWOOD STYLE   You can learn a lot from Hollywood - if you watch the way that they bring movies to the market  you’ll notice that the pre-sell is EVERYTHING!   If the first time you ever hear about it a movie is on the day of its launch - that's a HUGE failure!   You often see weekend box office sales hit 100 million dollars - that wouldn’t happen if there wasn’t a lot of pressure built up ahead of time.   … and yet many marketers often have a ‘build it and they will come attitude’ and they launch their products without putting any thought into the campaign.   I want to show you how to STOP leaving money on the table!   CHANGING BELIEFS At the core, markers change people's beliefs. However, the act of marketing, (a lot the time), revolves around creating campaigns…   And...   CAMPAIGNS ARE A DYING ART!   I love Frank Kern's most recent book called Convert…   Frank says, “These are campaigns... and I believe the campaign is dying.”   … and I was like, “I DO TOO!”   (Many times, I’ve ranted about people are forgetting what campaigns are - and that they think a campaign is just a Facebook ad)   So I want to show you how we launched the OfferMind ticket funnel by creating a ton of noise, Hollywood style campaign...   My subtext is that I hope this will incentivize you like crazy to join my programs - because we actually do what I'm teaching.   I'm not just re-teaching stuff that I heard from somebody else - we're actually actively doing this - which is very important to me.   CREATING A (PROPER) LAUNCH CAMPAIGN   The first time I ever learned this strategy was when I was working at ClickFunnels. Russell was hanging out with Brendon Burchard, and Brendon has this thing called The 7 Day Launch.   Now, this is Brendon’s thing, and you should totally go learn it from him…   I'm just gonna teach you briefly how I'm using some of the launch principles to sell tickets to OfferMind.   If you guys went to Funnel Hacking Live a couple of years ago, and you remember the documentary funnels, it’s very similar to that funnel style.   At the time of this going out, OfferMind tickets are available - so if you go to offermind.com you can get tickets, but we're expected to sell out pretty quickly.   I'm psyched about it - so go to offermind.com to see if there are any tickets available.   Now, back to the Hollywood launch…   I realized that if I just saying: “Hey, OfferMind Tickets are available…”  is kinda an anticlimax…   … and I don’t want it to be that way!   You see, marketers are event throwers - whether the event is physical or not.   I'm NOT saying you have to pull out the stops and throw an OfferMind to be a marketer,  that's not what I'm saying at all...   However…   To be a good marketer you have to be good at creating pressure, and then releasing it in a single direction. Anyone who can do that... has A LOT of power.   CREATING A PRE-FRAME   Recently, I went Jeff Walker’s launch event, and I got so excited just during the first half of the first day, 'cause honestly for half of the first day, Jeff did nothing but pre-frame the entire crowd.   I didn't know you could pre-frame that long, and frankly, it was very impressive.   The event is three days, and eventually, Jeff sells you into his Launch Con Program, and ‘cause I'm a Funnel Hacker, I bought the program to see how it works.   I love Jeff Walker - the book Launch plus DotCom Secrets is what finally helped me create success.   There’s a BIG lesson because I learned about funnels and launching rather than product creation.   Anyway, at Jeffs event, I took two full pages of notes of watching what he was doing… and for two-three hours, he did nothing but pre-frame.   The entire first session was just pre-framing - it was crazy nuts!   At the same time, I was thinking through different campaigns that have worked incredibly well...   I got a 2 Comma Club Award for a project I did for Russell using the 7 Day Launch campaign…   (It was for the first Two Comma Club Coaching Program where I helped organized Russell's stuff a little bit.)   … so I was like, “Why don't we ‘launch’ OfferMind tickets using the  same funnel!”   As OfferMind is a two-day event,  I don't have the luxury of spending half a day pre-framing…   So instead…   I decided to use the 7 Day Launch strategy to NOT only launch the tickets but to also to act as a pre-frame.   So that's what I’m gonna show you now.   I want to teach you the campaign and show you how we used it.   THE 7 DAY LAUNCH - PART # I:   The 7 Day Launch kinda looks like this…   Now, as we move forward, there's gonna be a few things that it would be advantageous to watch on YouTube.   If you go to salesfunnelradio.tv it’ll take you to my YouTube channel where you can watch if you want…   So there's…   Monday   Tuesday   Wednesday   Thursday   Friday   Saturday   Sunday   So, what I did was I created a single page funnel - I added a second page, simply because I added a share element from UpViral - but you don't actually need to do that.   The first time I built one of these funnels was for the Experts Secrets Masterclass   There was an Experts Secrets Masterclass that we used a 7 Day Launch for, so I was like, “Why don't I do an OfferMind masterclass?”   … and so offermindmasterclass.com was born.   PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAY ONE   So on MONDAY, I built the page and promoted it.   My goal was to have 2,000 people registered.   To start with we did one email drop and one Facebook Live, and we got about 700 people registered.   Then I had the rest of the day to keep promoting - so, day one, promote, promote, promote.   PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAY 2   #More promoting… PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAY 3   About a week and a half ago, I did an Ask Campaign where I asked everybody in the thescienceofselling.online group, “What do you struggle with when you're creating an offer?”   I had no idea how reactive that would be.   BOOM! There were 150 comments and HUGE awesome sample data!   I had no idea some of the things that people were struggled with in Offer Creation…   So I took the top five topics and split them into session content.   The first two sessions were on day #3  at 10:00 a.m and  2:00 p.m.   PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAY 3   Session #3 is at 10:00 a.m the following day   (I'll come back to session four 'cause that's a little different - but it's still 2:00 p.m on day #3)   PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAY 4   Sessions #5 and #6 are at the same time the following day     My pitch is for the Masterclass is:   “Come watch me as I film my next course OfferMind Masterclass live in front of a live audience.”   … I’m answering a lot of the questions that people have had as they've gone through last year's OfferMind event recordings.   What's powerful is that this not a top-level Ask campaign anymore, it's getting more detailed.   People are like, “Hey, about this scenario, where does that work?”   ...and I'm like, “It's a good question - you're not the first to ask that. I didn't realize that was a general question. Here's the answer.”   So in these five sessions, I'm just teaching and answering questions. I already have content planned out. It's NOT just a straight Ask Campaign styled course - I already know what I'm gonna teach.   However, the Ask campaign validated and helped fill in holes that I wasn't thinking about.   Sessions one, two and three, I'm breaking down a lot of vehicle, internal, and external related beliefs.   BACK TO SESSION #4   Can you guess what session #4 is gonna be?   A: It's gonna be a whiteboard webinar.   Q: What's it gonna sell?   A: OfferMind   I'm using 7 Day Campaign structure to launch the next thing in my value ladder -  which is OfferMind.   I believe everybody should come to OfferMind -  it'll shortcut tons of stuff in your life...   So session #4 is a webinar….   It's NOT a traditional webinar, I'm gonna do a share from my whiteboard - there are no slides, nothing else.   There's an offer that I created around getting a general ticket for OfferMind and I'm just gonna take that offer, and put it on this whiteboard and sell it.   It's really fascinating because this is a live class meets a webinar funnel.   PRODUCT LAUNCH FOMO   During this masterclass, I'm gonna teach for three days for almost six hours each day.   Part of the strategy is that people are NOT gonna be able to be with me the whole time.   It's a lot of content for me to teach, but in reality, there’s barely enough time for me to teach ALL the things that I want to.   it's gonna be a long time, and it's gonna be some of my best stuff - kinda an abbreviated OfferMind. And here’s the catch…   After the launch ends, I'm NOT gonna sell this masterclass in other places… (it’ll probably be a $300 - $400 OTO or upsell some low-end funnels), but it's not gonna be something that I sell generally…   So my pitch will be:   “Go get OfferMind, and get this course for free - ONLY until Monday at midnight.”   PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAY 5   After the webinar,  the sessions are still gonna be teaching and answering questions, but the stories I’ll tell are to help break additional vehicle, internal and external related false beliefs.   They’ll also be reminders that:   “Hey if you want this course, you can get it FREE when you buy OfferMInd.”   Recordings are not gonna be available.   The replays get taken down each day at midnight   PRODUCT LAUNCH # DAYS 6 & 7   At the end, there’ll be the scarcity urgency closeout sequence that you normally would put at the end of any webinar…   So for Saturday, and then for Sunday, it's all the sequences that are pushing them out…   Then Monday at midnight, BAM, it's done!   CREATING NOISE   For this to work,  I have to create a ton of noise!   My Offer business has an email list of over 15,000 people... and I'm pinging all of 'em - we're hitting all cylinders on this.   For three days people can watch me film my course   Then to keep the course for FREE - they have to get an OfferMind ticket.   Finally, the course will then be taken down, and no one else will get it.   The beauty of this is that it’s true urgency and scarcity. I hate fake scarcity and urgency, it's stupid - this is real.   https://media.giphy.com/media/QYQ3PZ9UHje3S/giphy.gif   OfferMind only has seats for 1,038 people, and there's already way over that on the waiting list.   Sooo…   That’s the end of PART # I…   Now we’re going to PART #2:  to find out how EVERYTHING is going.   THE 7 DAY LAUNCH - PART II:   Welcome to PART #2 of me documenting the 7 Day Launch for the OfferMind Event funnel.   Oh my gosh, I'm not gonna lie, I'm so freaking tired.   I have one of those Oura Rings -  and one day, I spent 800 calories just teaching … and another, I think it was close to 1,300. It’s ridiculous!   My voice is hoarse and croaky…   This on top of the One Funnel Away challenge, “Oh my gosh, I am wrecked.”   I've had to call a few audibles throughout this... and that's always expected in anything you launch, ever.   So let me just bring you through my studio setup real quick here…   The first time I ever watched Russell create and do a 7 Day Launch, he had this amazing camera crew, and there were all these people running around, all over the place.   There was this big ole' crew going down, and it was awesome -  it was impressive!   We have a picnic table with some boxes, and my laptop sitting on the top.   The room is a mess 'cause we had to restructure it real fast.   Then we have these ring lights, this backdrop light over there, and another light that's just pointing into the corner - so that everything looks kinda level on the actual Sales Funnel Radio backdrop.   We have a boom arm that's being held by a bunch of weights from the garage to weighing it down ‘cause the little clamp on the side wasn't quite big enough…   The place is wrecked!   You’re probably thinking, “Man, he's a freakin’ pig.”   ...and, yep! In the middle of launches, I stop adhering to general cleanliness standards.   In the middle of a launch, you do all sorts of crazy stuff. You go the extra mile to make sure crap happens.   THINGS ARE NOT GOING TO PLAN Today, I was supposed to launch the actual OfferMind ticket funnel, but as I started looking at the last few things needed in order to actually finish it, I was like:   “There's no way. There are too many small particulars for me to launch this comfortably right now.”   If I just go one more step further, it'll make it easy for us to manage, and that's what I want.   Which means, again, I'm only gonna sleep a few hours because I'm gonna go finish the event funnel.   I have a funnel team, but I'm finishing is that last 20% that sucks to finish.   These are my notes on what I need to finish for the OfferMind funnel... and there's A LOT.   This is actually how I started doing it while I was sitting next to Russell…   Take a piece of paper and draw the funnel Grab a different color and inside of each of the boxes, I’d write down what needs to be finished before the funnel’s ready.   ...and that's kinda the pattern I go through to see what need to be done. I’ve just barely brought them through how I've developed and designed a sales message and offer at the same time using My Core Offer Model, XAVIER.   When Russell did the 7 Day Launch, session #4 was when he did his big drop... but I need one more night - I gotta finish this, these last few pieces here.   I'm hustling hard to finish it.   SIMPLIFY TO WIN I'm in the simplification phase of funnel launching.   You start by thinking, “I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do this,” and now, I'm in the phase now where I'm like:   “Okay, that was a cool idea, but it's completely unrealistic now.”   The first three sessions were just deep dive teaching, and then I was planning to finish the funnel in the one hour break I gave myself each day…   *IT’S NOT GONNA HAPPEN* So we're gonna do it tomorrow morning.   We’re gonna hide some elements so no one knows they're there, and finish 'em later, so we can just launch.   That's totally what we're doing right now, and that's exactly how we're handling it.   So in installment #3, I will tell you how it went! What is kinda ninja, in the OfferMind Masterclass, (as I'm teaching how to go create a sales message and an offer), I used the example of:   “Let's act like I'm trying to pitch you guys into coming to OfferMind!”   So then I asked:   “What false beliefs would you guys have if I said you should come to OfferMind?”   Then I broke and rebuilt their beliefs throughout the whole thing... it was awesome.   About halfway through,  someone was like, “Wait, you're doing this on us now!”   ...and I was like “Ha, gotcha!”   THE WHITEBOARD WEBINAR   Tomorrow,  I'm gonna tape pieces of paper on my whiteboard to hide the offer, and literally, do a whiteboard webinar selling OfferMind.   It's gonna use EVERYTHING I've taught them up to this point. It's this awesome culmination - I'm really pumped about it.   We’ve had 200 people consistently live with us every single session, (there’ve been two sessions per day), but what's fascinating is that within like six hours, there are another 1,000 views per session - it's been crazy.   Last night, before I went to bed, I took the videos down at midnight, ('cause I said I would), I want there to be real scarcity and urgency.   I hate fake scarcity and urgency.   … there were 3,000 views from yesterday's two videos!   All I'm telling you guys is that if you're gonna go in and do this kinda thing, all you need is …   A Boom Arm   A Box   And... A Coulton   Look at him over there...   Coulton's don't grow on trees.   He's been moderating and kicking out all the psychos with small mind syndrome - so that they get outta my life and my audience FOREVER.   He's the heavy that kicks people out when they become jerks on the chat:   “Wow, this doesn't work,”  and I'm like, “Yeah, you're gone.” I'm not even gonna go there.   Coulton’s top takeaway so far...   “Simplicity is key. Just the clarity that everything has come through with you teaching it, to all these people, like it just shows that it works”   Cool stuff!  I'll kick this back on in probably about 24 or 48 hours to document the aftermath of the whole thing.   PART III   This is PART #3 of me documenting the 7 Day Launch, and I wanna show you guys what happened…   It was Super Successful.   First of all, let me tell you how completely exhausted I was by the end. It took me two or three days to recoup.   Normally, when I'm talking on stage, it wouldn't take me that long... but I mean this was really aggressive speaking.   When it was all said and done, I think I spoke for about 15 hours in three days, and I was finishing a funnel in the evenings -  so it's not like I was totally relaxing or anything…   I'd go sleep a few hours, and then I would get up super early to finish the funnel - so it was A LOT.   So I'm actually gonna walk through what actually happened.   MY LAUNCH CAMPAIGN STATS   Okay, check this out...   *This is between the dates of April 17th to the 24th 2019*   You can see that it actually performed quite well - it did everything I hoped it would.   What's interesting is the cart value was actually higher at the beginning of the launch. Towards the end of the launch,  it actually started dropping - which is kinda fascinating.   This is NOT the first time we’ve launched these the OfferMind tickets - there are more tickets sold beyond that…   We're actually about double that as far as seats sold.   This morning, I got a message from Russell, (which was really cool), saying that this was the 7th highest grossing funnel in all of ClickFunnels yesterday -  so it certainly worked.   We made a lotta noise and a BIG ole' splash.   https://media.giphy.com/media/3kxqLmAVaGvHAmgs6d/giphy.gif OFFERMIND TICKETS There are actually four different ticket prices, and then a bump...   if you look, you can see that some people have a discount, (here are the discount ones right here, across the bottom), what's interesting is that not a lot are taking the discount.   There are actually more people buying without the discount  - which I thought was fascinating.   These two here, that it says bundle, (right where my fingers are), that is is that’s a phone call that we're giving away for free.   So people put in their information, and we're gonna chat with them.   Significantly more people are choosing to get the phone call than not.   ... which makes sense, right?   It's actually funny to me when they say, “No.”   On a few of 'em, I'm just gonna call 'em live - I thought that'd be kinda fun to call 'em live, 'cause I don't think they're expecting that.   So as far as the actual bump goes, which is them buying the funnel…   (This funnel cost me 17 grand to build, only because I got a sick team and they're really good, which also means they're very expensive).   … you could buy the funnel (and get the thing that cost me a lot of money) for 147 bucks - which is really cool.   I am shocked that's only 19%. I thought it would be closer to 30% - so it’s a little bit lower than I thought it would be... and maybe it's just that we're so inundated with the share funnels nowadays…   … but this is NOT a normal funnel - so I don't know.   I was a little bit shocked by that, but eh, whatever.   Let's see, looking at the VIP offer, VIPs are going quick, (this is not reflective of the other VIP tickets that already sold in the past)...   So a 41% take rate is pretty insane!   Next, the Capitalist Pig ad book…   So there's an ad book that we're offering, 13% for a second OTO, it's actually not bad either.   Soon there’s gonna be an additional product on top of this; I don't have it turned on yet, it's a two pay option that we’ll turn on very soon - so I think that should increase that.   So it's going well…   On top of that, I have a Thank You Page Webinar, and so of 97 people who have bought a ticket, four have gone in and purchased - which is still pretty good…   It's a $1,500 thing, and they get a 50% off coupon with it.   It's a pretty powerful campaign that we ran.   One thing that I will mention that's been fascinating is that:   The moment the campaign was over, pretty much all buying stopped, and this just attests to the principle that if you build it, they WON’T come.   … that's like the stupidest line on the planet.   I was doing some consulting with somebody, and they vehemently were very much about that phrase: “You know, Stephen, if we just build it, we know they'll come.”   I thought they were joking, and I didn't know that they were dead serious, and I started laughing.   I was like, ‘Yeah wouldn't that be nice if that was true!”   I had no idea that it was the CEO, and some of the major people in the company, and I was straight up laughing at his face, and then I explained myself, I said, “That's NOT true!”   We got another sale today, which is great, but like one sale today verses like the 96 that came in in the last couple…   They're not small ticket prices either - that's almost six figures.   Actually, with the other funnel, we've collected well over six figures for this now. It's a popular event, we're really excited about it. We got a lotta cool people coming - it's gonna be fun.   It's just funny, the moment the campaign's over, the buying stops. It's still open, it's still up, but the buying stops.   https://media.giphy.com/media/yIxNOXEMpqkqA/giphy.gif So the next thing we're gonna look at:   What other campaigns can we run?   Running Ads   Doing a summit   I have offersummit.com, and I'm gonna go get the big who's who of the industry to come in and teach us how they create their offers - that should be probably June and July-ish.   Anyway, there's a lotta like smaller to like micro things…   I'm gonna piggyback on the back of other affiliate promotions… there are secrets... I don't wanna tell you guys everything ;-)   ... just watch what I'm doing.   But it's just fascinating, this has really pushed back to the lesson the moment the campaign's over, the sales stopped the sales - that's buying behavior.   And so when someone's like, “I don't know if I wanna do scarcity or urgency,” I'm like, “Well, be prepared to not sell anything.”   As far as the lives, there was always about the same 200 people on with me every session... but by the time 12 hours had passed, it had been watched almost 2,000 times per video.   People loved it, they ate it up.   I had a lotta big friends, who are larger than I am, reach out and they're like, “What is it that you're doing?”   I got a lotta people I respect reaching out asking me questions. It was validating.   So, anyways, it went really really well, and we got a lotta noise from it.   Everyone and their mom heard about it   We did a 7 Day Launch to launch tickets - I hadn't seen anyone do that, so I was excited about it. It was hard work, but it's one of the easiest campaigns to run.   Energy wise it was challenging because you teach like crazy, but it was still one of the easiest things for me to go pull off -  it's a single page funnel.   1,800 people, I believe ended up joining the list. That’s huge.   30% of the traffic came from shared referred traffic, not my list. We found that out by using UpViral. So not only did it expand the list, it expanded those seeing me.   On weird thing, since it was on YouTube, it was actually a lot of people who are not normally in my audience... I think if we’d used  Facebook, I would've gotten more of the hot audience to buy.   Almost 100 people of the 200 who were live with me bought.   ...that's a pretty good sale rate, right!  I'm happy with that.   Once we finished the actual training, we went through with three day urgency scarcity closeout period just like what you would do on a webinar, and just as expected…   Day 1: the cart opened, and boom, big old blast the sales.   Day 2:  kinda nothing - which is usually what happens.   Day 3:  it's like shoosh - another huge amount of sales coming in.   Anyways, it was fun, it was cool. I learned a lot from it. We’ll definitely do it again. A highly effective way to teach, but also sell at the same time.   Most of the time, webinars don't have that luxury; teaching is a liability inside of webinar *usually, so it was cool to be able to pull that off.   So anyways, cool stuff guys.   If you guys, anyway, I would love to have you guys come to OfferMind.   We’ve got... I don't know if I'm allowed to say it…   You know what, I'll bring certain people on the show to introduce a lot of the speakers to you.   I am now actively, (and hopefully they see this), I am actively going to go and BEG absolute killer giants, like Mark Joyner, and Bill Glazer to come speak.   I don't know if they're going to yet, but this is me calling my shot before they've said “Yes.”   So, in the next month here, by the time this goes out there, hopefully, they’ve agreed.   BOOM!   If you're just starting out you're probably studying a lot. That's good. You're probably geeking out on all the strategies, right? That's also good.   But the hardest part is figuring out what the market wants to buy and how you should sell it to them, right?   That's what I struggled with for a while until I learned the formula.   So I created a special Mastermind called an OfferMind to get you on track with the right offer, and more importantly the right sales script to get it off the ground and sell it.   Wanna come?   There are small groups on purpose, so I can answer your direct questions in person for two straight days. You can hold your spot by going to OfferMind.com.   Again, that's OfferMind.com.

Today is Day 2 of our 5 Day Launch in 90 Days Challenge. If you missed Day 1, please go back and listen to that show. We’re going to start with some Q and A and then cover today’s topic. Q and A: Should you focus on growing your email list or launching first? Part of the launch strategy is email list building. Grow your list in the pre-launch stage of your course. Do we need to do FB ads if we haven’t launched a product yet? Only do FB ads when you have a call to action. So if you want to give something away to build your list, that’s great. Do you have to go into debt to launch a course? You will either spend your time or your money your launch. So you can spend your money to save yourself time, or you can save your money and spend your time. You have to spend one or the other. How much time will a launch take from your family? If you designate a certain amount of hours per day to your launch, it won’t take any longer than your normal work day. Yesterday we talked about your fears and your goals. Today is all about your “perfect person”. We want to start the process by looking at yourself first. You want to teach you, where you were 2 years ago. You need to be far enough ahead in your journey to be confident helping people who are where you were 2 years ago. What is the problem your perfect person thinks they have? If you were to take away their pain and problems, then what would their perfect world look like? How do you get them to their perfect world? Cool Stuff We Learned During Our "7 Day Launch"

Marketing Secrets (2017)

Here is a recap of a 7 day internal launch that made over a million dollars and what we learned along the way. On today's episode Russell gives the details of the 7 day launch strategy and what worked and what didn't. Here are some insightful things you will here on this episode: A step by step guide to what Russell did for each of the 7 days in the launch. What mistakes were made and how Russell and his team were able to make tweaks on the fly to make it better. And what Russell learned from the experience and how it can help others with their own businesses. So listen below to get a cool step by step guide into the 7 day launch. ---Transcript--- What’s up everybody, this is Russell Brunson. Welcome to Marketing Secrets podcast. Today we’re going to be talking about the 7 day launch. Hey everyone, this is Russell and welcome back to Marketing Secrets podcast. So today I’m going to be talking to you guys about this launch right here and the reason why, is my inner circle members keep asking me, “Hey Russell, can you please show us what happened behind the scenes of the 7 day launch?” They want the stats, numbers and details. So I thought I’m going to kill two birds with one stone. Because I wanted to talk about this on the podcast anyway. So this is for the inner circle members and for those of you who listen to the podcast, I hope you love it. I’m not going to go deep into the numbers, I will just tell you that this launch in 7 days did over a million dollars in coaching sales, which is exciting, so it worked. I initially learned about this concept from one of my friends, Brendon Burchard. If you watch Funnel Hacker TV, the behind the scenes show, you will see some of the behind the scenes of us kind of going through this. He was in Las Vegas and I flew out there and there’s a whole episode on funnelhacker.tv where you’ll see me flying to Vegas, hanging out with Brendon and getting ideas on how he did this. So I’m not going to go too deep into all the strategies, just because I know he is launching a course later on this year. I’m going to buy it, you should all buy it, we should all buy it, it’s going to be amazing. Going deep into the deep in the details and giving the swipe files and stuff like that, but if you were watching you probably saw it, first off. Second off, you probably got the swipe files just by getting my emails and stuff. So you’ve got some feedback, if you’ve been funnel hacking and watching, you’ve had a chance to see it. Basically the way it worked is we did the book launch for the first 30 days, which built up a lot of pressure and excitement and we made a lot of book sales and upsells and everything else. At the end of it I wanted to do something cool. I wanted to figure out how, those who wanted to go deeper, how do I offer a coaching program that’s not me being, I didn’t want to feel like I was selling again because it’s just…..You know how it is, after a while people don’t want to keep being sold. I’d say it’s not like I wanted to sell a coaching program, to help people want to go to the next level with it, which is exciting. But then second off, I wanted to give and serve. So when Brendon gave me this idea I loved it. So basically how 7 day launch works is, and those who saw it, basically what happened is Monday I started promoting it, Tuesday I did this long training. So if you’re watching the video you can see day 1 I basically did an episode from 11 until noon-ish, I can’t remember exactly how it all went. And module one was you becoming an expert. What’s interesting is the book promo is all about Expert Secrets, but there was stuff like as soon as you read the book there’s this weird finality where it’s written and done and you can’t edit it or touch it again. And there were things as we’re selling it that I was like, “Oh…” during my interviews all these things kept coming up. There was stuff I wished I could share and there was pieces I wanted to just do. So what’s cool, is giving the ability, because I don’t have to re-teach the book, because people have the book, but here’s a master class of what’s next. If you read the book and you’re like, “What’s the next piece? What is it?” So this one here I went really deep with you becoming an expert and finding your voice and it was just training and it was awesome. So what we did is we emailed, so on Expertsecretsmasterclass.com, by the time there was a video, they embedded the live video from YouTube, people could watch and promote that through email. But then we also setup Facebook Live, I think there’s just those two platforms. So when we started this and clicked record, I came on and said, “Hey guys, we’re recording a course, it’s going to be awesome. I’m going to jump up here and start recording, be back in a minute.” Then we clicked go and it was like life. So I taught this entire thing, training. It was awesome. Then during the breaks we had testimonial videos streaming of our coaching program of the FHAT event, The Funnel Hack A Thon event so people could keep seeing success stories. I took a break so I could go to the bathroom and reset. We came back and taught number two, which is creating an irresistible offer. And that was it for day. I think I was up there for 3 hours, it was awesome. When all was said and done, I think we  had 20 or 30 thousand people watch it between YouTube and Facebook. Gave tons of good will and it was really, really cool. A lot of people who, they’ve been stuck on these two pieces, I had a chance to go deeper on that and give them everything. So that was day number one. And then this is where it replayed for 24 hours and then it disappeared. People had the chance to watch it for 24 hours, and some did, and then it disappeared. Then day two started. Day two I wanted to do the big domino, it went really deep to help people understand that. Then we had a break again, and then what I did at the latest session, actually did a webinar. Now, it’s a little different from Brendon, when he did his, basically at the end of day two is when he pushed people to a video sales letter, which sold a product. Me, I just did a webinar. One of the big things that was kind of interesting. When we created this offer, part of this training is really cool and desirable. A lot of people aren’t going to be able to watch it live, and you pull it down and you stage, because people actually want the content and the training. At the end of this I’m not selling this as a course because it’d be hard to sell because people are like, “I missed part of it, I should have watched it!” and all these kind of things. So instead it’s like, if you join the coaching program you get all this course for free, and notice I didn’t say the recordings of this product. Because recordings seem really cheap. Getting this course, the Expert Secrets Master Class, the perceived value is way higher, it’s the course not the recordings. If you watch the videos back I tried to say that, I think a couple of times I messed up and said recordings. I was trying to get it perfect. So that was here, and then what’s cool is that happened and sales started coming in for the coaching program. Because there was a webinar and they got to watch me do the webinar but then I was actually selling the coaching program on the webinar. Now what’s happening, as soon as it was done, it’s funny because it’s the first time I’d ever done this webinar. We created it the night before, it was perfect webinar, hacked style. So it was one headline, three secrets, a board with things. I pitched two offers, which is usually a wrong thing to do and it was in this case too. We had 2,000 or 15,000, it was just complicated when you get to the stack. So sales did okay, but I was kind of honestly, when the camera shut off, I was sitting there kind of depressed. Dang, that did not feel right. They didn’t convert right. Some people bought but it wasn’t right. I was just like, dangit. I was frustrated and that night I was kind of stressing out about it and realizing that. So then we made some tweaks and changes. And the cool thing is day three, I came back and broke down the campaign and showed them and went through the webinar again. And what’s cool about the second webinar, or the second training is because I was going through what I did and what worked and what didn’t work. I knew what hadn’t worked the first time. So I had this really cool opportunity to weave in different close, different stack, different things, to close the deal from the day before. I’m going to talk about why this is so key here. Because I think I figured out something amazing. But after that section, sales started coming in like crazy. The second webinar where I broke down what I did here, but then use that, and hopefully you guys watched that, if not you missed it. But I was weaving in all these closes throughout it, it was kind of a cool thing. But I was just breaking down what we were actually doing. Then we had a break and at the end I did a virtual book tour, which is kind of a bonus training of how we got traffic and then that was it. When that one ended, sales were coming in better than the day before. I was able to fix some of the things I had done wrong back here, which was good. But there was something wrong with the, there was something….it still wasn’t quite big so I was sitting there and I was kind of… I don’t know about you guys, but when you nail it I have all this energy afterwards. When I don’t I just feel this lack of energy. When we got done afterwards I was like, it was good but I still felt this lack of energy. I felt this weirdness around this pricing strategy and if you look at pricing it was $2000 to do the online version, or $15000 to do the online plus come to Boise, plus get Fill Your Funnel and a bunch of other really cool things. And it was kind of, there was complexity in it. So we were talking about it, “Maybe we’ll open up a payment plan.” I hate payment plans and all those other sorts of stuff. Then I had this idea and I was like, “Wait a minute, what if instead of a payment plan, what if…” So this is the pricing strategy that turned this campaign from….at the end of day two we probably had $150,000 in sales to two days later we did over a million dollars in sales. What was the difference? This was the piece that was key, it was pricing. So we shifted this, if you guys watched it, I came out and said, “Hey a lot of people are asking for a payment plan, unfortunately we don’t have a payment plan. But I did decide to turn this coaching program into a $300 a month one. So you come here, it’s $297 a month, or you can get lifetime access for $2000 or you can upgrade to the $15000 and com to Boise and get all this other stuff as well. So what’s interesting, I know some of the guys on my team were nervous, “Oh no. If it goes $300 a month, everyone’s going to take that and it’s going to draw whatever…” What’s interesting is that we had people take that, but what it did was become almost like a decoy offer where it made everybody buy the $2000 offer, it’s crazy. Tons of people bought, suddenly $2000 seemed cheap versus $300 a month and it was cool for 2 reasons. One, it got people to buy that. Number two it was cool because it got a whole bunch of people on a $300 a month coaching program as well, which is one of my goals this year. How do I create a $300 a month? To be honest Frank Kern has a $300 a month thing. Ryan STewman has a $300 a month thing. I was like, “I want a $300 a month training program.” So it kind of forced us to do that, but the cool side effect, it created this really cool thing where now $300 a month or lifetime access for $2000. So it was a huge discount there, which pushed everyone to the $2 grand. When we had Neurocell, our supplement, it was kind of similar the way pricing was. We had one bottle, three bottles or four bottles. We had a pricing strategy where basically you had to be a moron to buy one bottle. Where if you had any brains at all you’d buy the four bottles. It was $80 a bottle, or it was $40 a bottle if you get three. It was crazy and it pushed everybody to where we actually wanted them. And by doing this it did that as well. It helped me do two goals. One was to help me build up a $300 a month coaching program, number two it pushed people to what I actually wanted them to do, which was the $2000, which was really cool. Now it’s been fun because people are going through there and the training for those who are going through it, it’s super in depth and intense and crazy and amazing. It’s getting me excited to watch what people are doing. So that was some of the break down. Basically the last 3 days were urgency and scarcity and that’s what pushed it over the million dollar mark. That’s, by the way, a million dollars collected. A lot of people use, can I say this publicly? The company basically went bankrupt, so I can. There’s a thing we in the industry call stomper math. In stomper math, there’s a company called stomper net and they used to do launched and they’d be like, “We did 18 million dollars.” But it was not collected, it was if all the payment plans go through for the next 5 years then they would have made 18 million or something like that. I hate that. Stomper math, this was like a 10 million dollar launch. But in real math, not common core, but real math, we collected a million dollars. So after we rebuild stuff we’ll be higher. Anyway, I thought it was cool. Urgency and scarcity from this point forward, and again, the offer was basically the thing that I wanted to sell wrapped in with the recordings of this, excuse me not the recordings. I said a curse word. You get the Expert Secrets Master Class course for free as well. So that’s kind of it. So those who  were in the Two Comma Club coaching program, all the recordings of this are in the members area. So you can go back and watch them. I highly recommend at least watching these first three. These first three were probably some of the best presentations I’ve ever given, ever. I’m really proud of them and it will help you implement. The first three for those of you who are listening are The You in Expert, Create Your Digital Offer, and The Big Domino. There was something about the training, the way it worked. This training is just, I’m really proud of them, they turned out amazing. Anyway, we probably will be trying to evergreen this funnel in the near future, I’m not sure exactly how to do it yet. But in the future if you go to expertsecretsmasterclass.com, it may be there, the evergreen version where basically you opt in and we have a 24 hour countdown and it disappears after 24 hours. I don’t know, I haven’t figured that part out yet. We may or may not try that in the future. But yeah, that was kind of a breakdown of how the campaign worked and it was a lot of fun. Tons of reciprocity, tons of goodwill, a lot of people weren’t able to buy, they still got tons of stuff from that. And what’s been interesting in my business, as I’ve been watching this, the more I give away, it’s people have success with the free stuff, in fact Dan Henry is one person who said this specifically. A bunch of other people said, I feel like I owe you because I’ve made so much money from all the free stuff. Dan, I remember when he joined the inner circle, he’s like, “I feel like I owe you $25 grand for all you already gave me. So I’m just going to give it to you so I can be in your inner circle, but I feel like I owe it to you anyway.” And that’s what I want to do. I want to give people such good stuff, they can run with it and have success. So much so that in the future they’re like, “Man, I need to buy all Russell’s stuff, because I feel like I owe it to him.” So it’s kind of a good spot to be in. That’s what I’m trying to focus a lot more on. That’s kind of how the whole thing worked, it was really fun and enjoyable. The big key takeaways are number one, just giving and building this huge reciprocity streaming this huge, live streaming to YouTube and to Facebook. I think when all was said and done it was like a quarter of a million people that had seen parts of this training. It might have been more than that. It was amazing. Having an offer, a really good offer with a really good pricing strategy behind it, when Brendon comes out with his course later this year, hopefully he’ll….he’ll probably use this process to launch it. But watch how he structures his offers. I think that’s the key of it. What he does, he’ll do this whole training and be like, “Hey expert academy, my $1000 course, I’ll give you a 50% discount, so you get $500, plus you get this for free.” It’s all about creating an irresistible, amazing offer.  It took us a couple of tries and while this thing was happening, tweaking our offer before it got right. That’s another thing you’ve got to understand is that we’re tweaking offers in the, as they’re happening. In the middle we’ll be like, “Ah, it’s not working. It’s not converting. Change it, tweak it.” If your thing’s not converting, change the offer, don’t like, “Ah it didn’t work.” If you would have seen the behind the scenes, and I think we probably filmed some behind the scenes of that from the behind the scenes Funnel Hacker TV show. But we’re shifting and changing and modifying things on the fly because it’s happening in real time and it’s kind of crazy. Anyway, this was a really cool thing to kind of end the launch with. You know it added an extra million dollars to the bottom line, which was cool. It helped us figure out the pricing strategy for long term when we do evergreen-ness. How to actually sell the coaching, what the right messaging…Forcing myself to do a webinar live, helped me figure out what was wrong with my webinar hook. Then having me do a webinar where I recap the whole thing gave me another deep ability to fix the things and know what to do when I make this thing an auto webinar and sell it as a coaching program in the future. And this is the other thing I learned that was awesome. When you do a webinar, and maybe this only works in my market, I’m not sure. Or like a business market. But doing a webinar and then the next day showing them what you did. The second webinar made us more money than the first. So one cool thing I’m going to start doing is, I think with some of my webinars is if somebody registers be like, “Hey, if you watch to the end, what I’m going to do is send an email with a break down where I’m going to show you behind the scenes. I’m going to show you the webinar funnel, what we did. I’m going to let you funnel hack what I just did. I’ll give you the share funnels, the emails. But you have to watch the webinar to be able to get access to that.” And it should force people to consume the webinar, which will create sales and things like that. That was a cool thing, doing a double webinar. We did that back in the day. 8 or 9 years ago we used to double things like that. We’d do one and one right after. I forgot about them and it was, I think there’s a correlation here, doing a double webinar and the second webinar is showing something, but just keeps closing sales. But it’s a different presentation. I’ll test with that and let you guys know what we figure out. Figuring out your pricing strategy was big. There’s so many cool lessons from it. Hopefully you guys watched it and experienced it. You had a chance to see behind the scenes of the numbers and metrics, the big takeaways and aha’s we learned along the way. Anyway, it was pretty awesome. Hopefully I’ll see you guys. Thank you again for listening to Marketing Secrets podcast. If you are not on iTunes, please search on iTunes, leave me some feedback and listen to it there. It was called Marketing In Your Car. I highly, highly recommend you guys going back and binge listening to all of those because they are good and they are worth it. SPA Lived Experience Network Manager, Tracy, attended SPA Member Relationships Australia event at Bidwell Community Garden for the launch of 2017 Neighbour Day . www.neighbourday.org Tracy spoke with Alison Brook, the National Executive Officer of Relationship Australia. The Neighbour Day concept was originally developed and delivered by one man (Andrew Heslop) and his laptop. Andrew started Neighbour Day after a woman in a suburb of Melbourne had died in her home and wasn't found for two years. Neighbour Day encourages everyone to connect with the people next door, over the fence, or down the road. It is the perfect opportunity to say thanks for being a great neighbour and for being there when I needed you most! The theme of Neighbour Day this year is: The Importance of Social Connection for the Elderly. The theme aims to encourage all Australians to reach out to older people in their neighbourhoods, particularly those who live alone, or are otherwise vulnerable or frail. The community starts at your front door #NeighbourDay

https://baremetrics.com/blog/product-launch-sequence Our 7 day launch sequence for announcing anything If you launch something on the internet and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? I know. Deep. But seriously, how do you launch/release/announce/publish something and make sure people do in fact hear? Here at Baremetrics we have a launch sequence that we use variations of for basically anything we put out: articles, products, features, news…anything. It’s a repeatable set of steps done over 7 days and one we’ve been optimizing over the past couple of years and one you can likely copy and use for your own company! Who doesn’t like copying?!?! Not all of these items will be applicable to everything you put out (you wouldn’t do a press release for a new blog post). Note: I’ll be using the words launch, release, publish and announce interchangeably here but ultimately I’m referring to “getting something out there”. Setting a launch date Whether you’re publishing a new article or releasing a major new feature, you need to give yourself a little lead time to get your ducks in a row. Usually, one week out is sufficient. If it’s something just absolutely huge (initial product launch, for instance), then two or three weeks would be more appropriate. Now, for the 7 day launch sequence! Day 7 Write out the story you’re telling When it comes to features and products, everything you do needs a story behind it. The mechanics of the thing you’re releasing aren’t the story…the problem you’re solving is where things get interesting. What you write for this isn’t necessarily something you’ll publish directly, but it helps focus how you present things, the copy you use on landing pages, what you pitch to PR folks, etc. Initial press outreach Not all things you put out will warrant a PR push, but if you can put a compelling spin on what you’re doing, getting some press coverage can go a long way. There’s not really any magic sauce for getting the press to cover you. So much of what does/doesn’t get covered boils down to the whims of the reporter and what else is in the current news cycle. Your best bet is to just cast the net wide and hope for some bites. Some tips for doing press outreach: Email journalists who’ve covered similar topics to what you’re announcing before as that means they’ve got at least some interest in what you’re doing. Make the subject line informative and compelling. Being spammy or vague won’t get you anywhere. In your first line reference their writing on the topic that you think is tangentially related to what you’re doing so it’s clear you’re not just blanket-emailing everyone. Keep the email to 4-5 sentences and mention when you’re launching and if there’s an embargo on the announcement. People need deadlines and including a hard date/time helps them prioritize your email. Partnership outreach Some of the things you may launch likely involve another company in some form or fashion. Start coordinating announcements or guest posts now. For example, when we launched Open Startups, I worked with our pals at Buffer to do a guest blog post for them, which gave Open Startups a huge boost and got it out in front of a much larger audience. When we launched our Slack App, we worked with the fine folks at Slack to be a featured app in their directory. If what you’re launching makes use of another company’s technology, they’ll likely want to help you promote it. Case Studies are a great format for this and something we did with Clearbit. Day 6 Create launch video Video is a great format to show off a new feature and give a bit of backstory on why you created it. We try to create short demo videos for both landing pages and general sharing for any major feature we release. You can see some examples videos here… Baremetrics Home Dunning Plan Insights These videos don’t need to be complex or overly polished…the more human they are, the better. Day 5 Create a landing page When you’re launching a new feature, having a direct landing page is crucial. It allows you to reference a feature from the perspective of “solution to a problem”. It’s also the perfect segue to a call-to-action (such as starting a trial or subscribing to a newsletter). We create landing pages for everything under the sun. Here’s a handful of them to get your creative juices flowing… Growing a Million Dollar Company Book Dunning & Retention Slack App Plan Insights Date Compare Stripe Analytics Recurly Analytics Braintree Analytics Subscription API Day 4 Press follow up The key to getting a response to anything is in the follow up. Send a follow up email to all the journalists you reached out to a few days ago. Trickle out a little more info about what you’re doing and why it’d be super interesting to them and their readers. Your goal here is to get some commitments to cover what you’re doing and to get them to write something the same day or the day after you launch. Create animated GIFs and images Creating shareable images and animated GIFs goes a long way towards getting additional traffic from social media. They’re also a great way to quickly show off new features to your customers in-app. We’ve got an entire guide to creating animated GIFs, and our pals at Buffer have an amazingly thoroughly guide to properly sizing social media images for various platforms. Day 3 Influencer & industry outreach You don’t get what you don’t ask for. Most people don’t mind you reaching out and asking them to help share something that you’re launching in a few days. There are a couple of big kickers here, though… Offer to help them when you mention what you’re launching In your first email, ask if it’s okay to share the link with them. Asking for permission goes a long way to not looking like a jerk. Use this type of outreach sparingly. Save it for the really big stuff, maybe 2-3 times a year max. Try to build up a relationship with these people well before you’ve got something to ask from them. Write article Whether it’s just a regular blog post or an article about the release of a feature, having it written a few days ahead will give you time to tweak the content and make sure it’s as error-free as possible. Day 2 The day before the launch is all about relieving launch-day duties. Pre-schedule as much as you can so you aren’t drowning in todos. Schedule a newsletter Ideally you’ve got an email list that you can send announcements to. A blog with regularly posted content is a really great way to build up a list that will pay dividends in the long run. Keep your email blast short (1-2 paragraphs at most) and include a link to both the thing you’re announcing along with a pre-populated share link (using something like Click to Tweet). Schedule in-app messages We’re big fans of in-app messages. We use them for all sorts of things (like increasing annual upgrades by 30%)! We also use them for major announcements. There are a number of tools for sending in-app messages…Intercom is our weapon of choice. Queue up social media Queue up social media posts to go out throughout the day using variations of images and bits of content. On a typical launch day we’ll post to social media 10+ times with different pieces of content. This is also the time to schedule additional posts throughout the coming weeks and months so coverage doesn’t just fall off a cliff! Day 1: Launch day! Publish/release/launch/announce Deploy, merge, pull, click, publish! Do all the things that make the things do things! Influencer follow up Follow up with those “influencers” (i.e. internet friends) who’ve agreed to help you spread the word and let them know everything is live and that they can share to their heart’s content! Submit to Product Hunt (and/or other communities) Not everything is worth submitting to Product Hunt, but it can be a huge influx of traffic for the right product or feature. I suggest submitting it first thing in the morning (by 8AM EST). We’ve had pretty great success with it, especially for free tools we’ve put out such as Open Benchmarks, Build vs. Buy Calculator and The Business Academy. Here’s a full list of all the things we’ve had on Product Hunt over the past couple of years. Depending on what you’re announcing, there are likely other communities such as GrowthHackers or Hacker News that are applicable. Respond to blog comments, social media, customer emails Finally, after you’ve put everything in motion, if all goes as planned you’ll spend the rest of the day interacting with the community and everyone’s response to what you’ve just put out. You should respond to blog comments, social media, emails, etc. quickly to keep buzz going as long as possible. Making it your own We do variations on these launch steps for nearly everything we put out. And while we’ve been using this for quite a while, we’re constantly making little tweaks to it. Try all the things we’ve mentioned, figure out what’s worth your time and effort and come up with a repeatable plan so you squeeze every last drop out of everything you put out!

Amanda brown talks to Graham and Kevin about using social media in your business, and about how she is using social media in her own 100 day launch for the Celebration Project. After a corporate career working for Ford Motor Company and Merchant Banks, Amanda became a garden designer and for the last 7 years has run her marketing consultancy business, Alterra Consulting. She invested heavily in a deep understanding of social media platforms, like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. For Amanda, social media is about ‘expressing your individuality'. She says the best form of social media is in fact meeting people face-to-face. We picked up a number of tips during the podcast… TIP #1: As a marketing consultant, one of the first things she determines when meeting a new client is, how and where they meet their customers. She finds out what is their process for finding their new customers. TIP #2: Amanda discussed her MODEL social media approach for small businesses. You know, the ones that don't have marketing departments, but do have great projects! In a 100-day time frame she recommends that you create a large ‘white paper' on your project. Which can be broken down, or sliced up into 4 blog posts. Several email communications. 10 or more tweets or Facebook or LinkedIn posts. This is ‘re-purposing' of content. It is logical – create a big piece of work, then break it into lots of single-idea subjects that resonate with your ideal customer. TIP #3: Make use of Twitter. Search out the influencers in your market and send them a message using the Twitter platform. Amanda told us how she had done this successfully with Darren Rowse, the Australian founder of ProBlogger. Amanda wanted to sound out Darren about using a hyphen in a URL. And she got an answer she was able to act upon. TIP #4: Amanda advises you should be scheduling at least 5 Tweets per day to create the kind of exposure your local business requires. TIP #5: Amanda also advises you do add your job role and company in the line under your name but to help you get found by other people searching LinkedIn, be sure to add a few words to highlight what value you bring to others. (Graham: I took immediate action on this, because I wasn't doing that – check my profile and link to me on LinkedIn https://uk.linkedin.com/in/graham-arrowsmith-45b4b41). TIP #6: An excellent way to use LinkedIn for search is by using the ‘advanced people search'… Linked-In Advanced People Search And then we got onto Amanda's new project. She is a services expert. She has never sold a product before. Until now. Amanda told us about her 100 day challenge to create a new product. Her inspiration came from her Mastermind group and external inspiration like John Lee Dumas, an American entrepreneur who also chats with inspiring entrepreneurs in his podcast Entrepreneur On Fire. Most impressively, Amanda wishes to devote part of the profits from the product sale to support a couple of charities: 'Soroptimist Internatiional' and 'Pencils of Promise' The product is called The Celebration Project. It runs counter the sheer weight of bad news we are all subject to in the media every day. The Celebration Project will offer a journal for people to add their wins to, little or otherwise. The compilation of these celebrations is sure going to make you look back on your life and see more of the good you have experienced, wouldn't you say? Amanda discussed the challenges of the 100 day launch – sourcing product, website development, branding, the creation of an email list – TIP #7: she will leverage (carefully) her ambassadors – friendly referrers. Maybe this is something we can all leverage in our own businesses. Think about it, how many ambassadors could you generate for the work you do? When asked to provide her advice about THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS to focus upon in the next 100 days, she advised: Sell a dream. We are all taught to solve a problem,
