Is baking soda safe to drink? It has been used in countless natural remedies, but are there any baking soda dangers you should be aware of? Watch this video before drinking baking soda or using a baking soda remedy!0:00 Introduction: Is baking soda safe to drink? 0:39 Baking soda health benefits 0:49 Baking soda for an acid stomach 2:49 Baking soda for teeth and oral health4:33 How to safely use baking soda 5:11 Other natural remedies using baking soda Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline compound made naturally by the pancreas to help neutralize stomach acid as it enters the small intestine. A poorly functioning pancreas can result in bloating, diarrhea, and constipation. Baking soda can work as a temporary solution for an acid stomach, but not for indigestion! Indigestion is caused by low stomach acid, so baking soda would only worsen the problem. Apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride can help with indigestion. GERD and acid reflux are also related to low stomach acid, but baking soda can help temporarily. ACV and betaine hydrochloride are better long-term solutions. Baking soda can also help with gastritis, but it should be taken with zinc carnosine for this problem.Stomach acid should be highly acidic with a pH between 1 and 3. Drinking baking soda for long periods can neutralize your stomach acid, inhibiting your ability to digest protein, absorb B12, and absorb minerals. Low stomach acid can also lower your ability to kill microbes and pathogens in your food.Baking soda neutralizes the acid in your mouth and is an excellent addition to toothpaste. It can also help relieve itching related to a kidney problem and enhance athletic performance! Baking soda consumption can help prevent kidney stones and can also be helpful if you have a UTI.Baking soda can be used topically for certain insect bites, especially for fire ant bites and bee stings. It can also be used as pest control for insects like cockroaches. Don't take baking soda with vinegar or lemon juice! This creates a significant amount of carbon dioxide, which can leave you feeling bloated. You should get some baking soda and always have it in your house. It is a universal home cleaner, deodorant, fire extinguisher and teeth whitener by your side. Yes, baking soda can do all of that for you! Take a look at the list of 10 surprising uses for baking soda you have never heard of before. Plus, there will be a bonus feature at the end of the video. You are going to love it, we promise! TIMESTAMPS Universal Home Cleaner 0:55 Dry Clean Your Dog 2:13 Natural Fungicide and Homemade Insecticide 2:37 Eliminate the Weeds in Your Lawn 3:09 Keeping Flowers Fresh 3:51 Treating Bee Stings 4:29 Fire Extinguisher 4:52 Excellent for Removing Odors 5:29 Skin and Hair Care 6:28 Hollywood Smile 7:29 BONUS 7:58 SUMMARY Baking soda works on a whole variety of things and surfaces! It can clean your bathroom, including the floor tiles, glass doors, toilet, sink, and bathtub. It is more effective and healthier than most chemical bathroom cleaners. Put some baking soda in an empty spray container, sprinkle your dog with its new deodorant, massage it in and then just brush it out. It is quick and safe for your fluffy buddy. If you mix baking soda with vegetable oil and a cup of warm water, you will create a powerful spray. Use it on your plants to scare away the insects. To get rid of ants, make a similar all-natural ant killer spray using baking soda and powdered sugar. Fill a sprayer with 2 cups of water. Take a nylon stocking to use it as a flour sifter or an actual flour sifter and fill them with baking soda. Spray the weeds with water and immediately shake the stocking or flour sifter over them. The best time to apply this spray is right after the rain, on wet plants. Baking soda will not only work its magic on the lawn but also inside your house. It will help you keep flowers fresh. Put some insecticidal soap in the water and mix it with 8 tablespoons of baking soda. Then, spray the flowers with the mix. Getting a bee sting is something we try to avoid. It is painful and itching. If it happened to you, baking soda could ease your pain. Mix it with water to get a thick paste. Apply it to your skin and leave for 15 minutes. It will neutralize its inflammation effects. Baking soda is a ‘must keep' in a kitchen, not just for cooking but also for other potential harms. Let's say you are cooking something, and due to some possible reasons, you caught fire in your food or even in the kitchen. Deodorize your shoes. Soda will absorb all possible odors from your shoes. You can also try sprinkling them with a water-soda spray. However, you should be careful with suede and leather shoes. Baking soda is also your loyal friend when it comes to skin and hair care. You can use it to combat pimples and blackheads. It is a super cheap way to treat acne. Half a teaspoon of baking soda added to your regular cleanser will work miracles. Just mix some baking soda with some toothpaste, and then apply a generous layer onto some aluminum foil. Next, wrap the foil around your teeth, getting it snug around your teeth. After an hour, remove the foil and rinse out your mouth thoroughly. It's not a joke – half a lemon dipped in baking soda works wonders! Watch the video to find out several more curious and quite unusual lemon + soda benefits! Lemon trees, which can grow as tall as 20 feet, are very fertile: they harvest all the year round and can produce more than 600 pounds of lemons a year! There is a shark named in honor of lemons - the lemon shark - all because of its yellowish color. But many specialists are doubtful that the combination of these products will be able to cure cancer or prevent it completely. - However, studies have shown that lemon juice, for example, is a very effective means of fighting against carcinogenic cells. It reduces oxidative stress in your whole body, therefore, lowering the risk of cancer. - Baking soda, in turn, is known for its ability to regulate pH levels. It means that it can counteract the acidity your body accumulates which is one of the main reasons of cancer. This disease tends to thrive in the acidic environment. Baking soda also detoxifies the body and heals it from the exposure to radiation and oxidative damage. - It can assist you in the process of weight loss. There is enough evidence that the drink provides better endurance and more energy during workouts. - Lemon with baking soda will provide cleansing for your body. Lemon, in particular, is a diuretic. It stimulates your body to urinate - therefore the excess of water, salts, toxins, and fats is expelled. - This combination can also be used for dental care. Be careful - its abrasive qualities may harm the teeth if you try to use this mixture for whitening them. - Lemon combined with baking soda improves digestion. It works as a perfect antacid reducing bloating, heartburn, cramping, and other symptoms of indigestion. - Lemon baking soda drink prevents the negative effect free radicals have on your body. The result? It is very beneficial for your skin as it can slow down the signs of aging, surprise your skin with a healthy glow, and reduce the speed at which wrinkles appear. In this episode of iOS Today, Mikah Sargent and Rosemary Orchard dive into the world of Safari extensions, discussing a variety of handy tools that can enhance your browsing experience on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. From content blockers to custom search engines, the duo explores the benefits and potential drawbacks of these powerful add-ons. Additionally, Rosemary tackles a Shortcuts Corner question about switching Apple Watch faces using Siri. Safari Extensions: Browser Note: A simple extension that allows you to stick virtual post-it notes on websites, reminding you of important information when you revisit the page. Keyword Search: An extension that enables custom search engines for various websites, allowing you to quickly search Amazon, DuckDuckGo, and even TWiT.tv right from Safari's address bar. 1Blocker: A powerful content blocker that prevents ads and trackers from loading on web pages, potentially speeding up your browsing experience and protecting your privacy. Redirect Web for Safari: An extension that lets you create custom redirect rules for websites, ensuring you always end up on the correct version of a site (e.g., old.reddit.com instead of www.reddit.com). PayPal Honey: A controversial but money-saving extension that automatically finds and applies coupons and deals as you shop online. Vinegar and Baking Soda: Two extensions that work together to improve your video watching experience by replacing the native video player controls on YouTube and other video sites with iOS's native controls. Opener: While not technically a Safari extension, this app allows you to choose which app opens when you click on a link, giving you more control over your browsing experience. Shortcuts Corner: Doug asks how to switch Apple Watch faces using Siri without having to confirm the action on his watch when his iPhone is locked. Rosemary walks through the process of ensuring the shortcut has the necessary permissions to run when the device is locked and troubleshoots potential issues Doug may be facing. If the "Allow Running When Locked" option is missing, Rosemary suggests resetting the shortcut's privacy settings or recreating the shortcut from scratch.
