Hi and thanks for checking out episode 2 of the new series. This one is a very freewheeling conversation that took place on a narrow boat (the ‘Disco Volante') near King's Cross, London. The Disco Volante is a floating lab and the spiritual home of new fragrance brand Vallense. I sat down with founder Will Borrell and discussed the brand, the debut collection, Will's background, why he moved into perfume - and everything in between! I really hope you enjoy our chat, I found Will to be brilliant company - fascinating, funny, charming and a real zest for life. Thanks for inviting me on board, Will! Some of the products Will mentioned were:Dermalogica - Micro-scrub Folianthttps://www.spacenk.com/uk/skincare/cleansers/scrubs-exfoliants/daily-microfoliant-MUK200030223.htmlThe Ordinary - Niacinamidehttps://theordinary.com/en-gb/niacinamide-10-zinc-1-serum-100436.htmlDr David Jack - All Day Long Moisturiser https://drdavidjack.com/collections/moisturisers-spfs/products/all-day-longNo. 7 - Energising Moisturiserhttps://www.boots.com/no7-men-energising-moisturiser-50ml-10334936Vallense fragrances can be found at:https://vallensefragrances.com/On Instagram Vallense is at:https://www.instagram.com/vallensefragrance/- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -You can ‘tip' me via the link below. Join us dear listeners as we go on a fragrant adventure on the high seas (well actually the hidden canal in London's King's X).In this episode we took our little microphone on a very special day out in London.Join us onboard the Disco Volante, a beautiful narrow boat belonging to the incredible William Borrell who is the founder of @vallensefragrance. William has transformed his boat into what can only be described as a perfume lover's dream, with incredible equipment that macerates and distills wild and wonderful ingredients that William has sought out from all around the world, this boat can only be descrived as a floating laboratory. As you'll hear, the next step of William's creative process is taking his ingredients and inspiration to wonder perfumer @perfumer.pia. The results of their work together are mind blowing and the first three fragrances will be available in July. We'll also tell you about a phenomenal two hours with @rojadove and will tell you about our wonderful tea time experience. We hope you enjoy accompanying us on our scented journey.
Interview by Kris Peters,Often bands that are referred to as 'ahead of their time' are lumped into the basket simply because people can't understand their musical vision and/or output. But when that term is used on a band 10 years or more after their inception, the plot thickens just a little. With the benefit and time and hindsight, today's WTF musical outfit can eventually be classed as innovative and groundbreaking, it's really all down to perception. There are, however, exceptions to the rule. Bands that were truly of a different sonic sphere to others at the time and remain that way many years later.Bands such as Led Zeppelin and Rage Against The Machine spring to mind, but one possibly above all others is an outfit by the name of Mr. Bungle.Formed by three friends still in high school - Trey Spruance, Trevor Dunn and Mike Patton - Mr. Bungle defied convention from the outset, blending sounds and genres like rarely heard before and creating a genre of music as unclassifiable to this day as it was back in 1985.Over three albums and four demos, Mr. Bungle maintained their experimental stance of creating music, building an underground following that swelled even more when Patton joined Faith No More in 1988.But, as generally happens when such creative forces are exposed for a prolonged period of time, Mr. Bungle found themselves at a crossroads approaching the turn of the century and parted ways, with each member moving on to other projects. Bungle became one of those bands where people spoke with reverence of actually seeing them play live, most hoping for, but never believing a reunion would one day come to pass.In 2020 fans around the world rejoiced as rumblings morphed into reality and Mr. Bungle were ready to once more assume their place at the head of the class. Only there was to be changes in personnel. And not just any new members, either.Anthrax's Scott Ian joined the original trio on guitar while Dave Lombardo (Slayer) assumed duties behind the drum kit and a supergroup of sorts was (re) born.Rather than write new material with the five new creative minds, Mr. Bungle started things off the way they always had - on their own terms - by re-recording and releasing their debut EP The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny. It was a bold and unexpected move that emphatically declared Bungle were still unwilling to follow convention, and the resulting success of the release ensured live shows would follow.Which has invariably led Mr. Bungle back to this side of the world, where they will be kicking off a run of shows in Auckland on March 3 before heading to Australia for five capital city shows.HEAVY caught up with guitarist Trey Spruance earlier today to find out more."It's great," he smiled when asked how he felt about returning to Australia. "Let's see… for Mr. Bungle, this is our third time… but I think it's our first time playing in New Zealand, so that will be new territory for us. Right before that we'll be in Japan, but Australia has always been a stronghold for Mr. Bungle fandom, so it's great to be able to come back with this band. I've been back with other bands since then, and I was never sure that Mr. Bungle would make it back. It's very cool that we're able to do it."We press Trey on what fans can expect from the shows."They have never heard this part of the band," he offered. "Well, they have through the internet, but they have never experienced this live. The death metal assault. It's full-on fucking speed metal. A really crazy, fast show (laughs). It's nothing like we did before. If they are expecting a whole bunch of genre shifting… I would say that's not going to happen, but we do actually play a bunch of cover songs. You're not gonna go and see a death metal band and see what Mr. Bungle does with the death metal experience, that's for sure."In the full interview, Trey talks more about the shows, what the band expects from their crowds, how different their current live show is from what people would have seen on previous visits, bringing the Melvins as support and why, the formation of Mr. Bungle and their early vision, where their sound came from initially, the writing process that sees himself, Trevor Dunn and Mike Patton make music together, their self-titled debut album and how they approached it, their musical journey over that album and follow up's Disco Volante and California, their parting in 2000 and if he was satisfied with Mr. Bungle's achievements to that point, reforming 20 years later with Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo, re-recording The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny instead of writing new music, what he feels Mr. Bungle has contributed to the music scene and more.

This week we're discussing every album by Mr. Bungle. Known, among other reasons, for being underground legend Mike Patton's first band, Mr. Bungle was one of the most unpredictable, insane, and brilliant groups to ever exist. Cramming 40 different genres into one song was normal for these guys and their musicianship was (and is) among the best in the world. They reunited in 2019 with Scott Ian of Anthrax and Dave Lombardo of Slayer to re-record their first demo. There is no prep for these guys—you just have to jump in.Closing track: “Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz” from Disco Volante (1995)Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/everyalbumeverMerchhttps://pandermonkey.creator-spring.com/Mike's EP:Pander Monkey on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple,Instagram:Mike @pandermonkeyAlex @everyalbumalexHistory Tom's stuff:New album on BandcampDebut album on Bandcamp, Spotify, AppleSubstackWebsiteMike's Picks:Disco Volante (1995) — Best Album, Personal FavoriteThe Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo (2020) — Worst Album, Least FavoriteAlex's Picks:Mr. Bungle (1991) — Best AlbumCalifornia (1999) — Personal FavoriteDisco Volante (1995) — Worst AlbumThe Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo (2020) — Least FavoriteAlbums we discussed this episode…Mr. Bungle (1991)Disco Volante (1995)California (1999)The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo (2020)

9. Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti (1993). Victoria a domicilio.

Vintage watch collectors know that Patek Philippe is extremely, if not the most collectable watch brand out there. Many regard them as being head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to the art of classical watchmaking. Today we take a look at a beautiful reference 2594 from the late 1960’s that has an extremely unique case design often termed “Disco Volante” by collectors which means ‘saucer’ in Italian. This watch also has the 23-300 movement which is regarded by many as being one of the best hand-wound movements ever produced. It is rare, beautiful and worth taking your time at. Side note: It had been a while since a watch took our breath away; this Patek did exactly that. The Patek Philippe reference 2594 we talk about can be found here. Our blog post and video of this watch can be found here. You can find us on our Website, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Want to be part of the Launch of our clothing line?
Trey Spruance of Secret Chiefs 3 and Mr Bungle shares stories of making Disco Volante, mastering the vinyl with Bernie Grundman, forming Secret Chiefs 3, Web of Mimicry records and much more. This is part 2 of a 2 part series. If you like records, just starting a collection or are an uber-nerd with a house-full of vinyl, this is the podcast for you. Nate Goyer is The Vinyl Guide and discusses all things music and record-related. Web | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube
Mi ritrovai nuovamente a Brescia, dove conobbi Dcdj Soulmind.
Percussionist William Winant has played with everyone from John Cage to John Zorn, Sonic Youth to Mr Bungle, Steve Reich to Iannis Xenakis. If anyone can be described as the Zelig of experimental music, it's Willie. For this talk, the maestro swings by to talk about his path from a teenager playing trap kit in Los Angeles to performing at the Ojai Festival with Pierre Boulez. We also talk his work as a college instructor, studying gamelan in Indonesia, the recording of “Disco Volante” and a whole lot more. An essential talk with a technician of the sacred.

For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
For our first episode of season seven, it’s a requested review thanks to a Patreon subscriber. We’ve talked about Mike Patton previously on the podcast, but never actually revisited an album from one of his many musical outfits. For the first week of 2017, we’re checking out the 1995 sophomore album Disco Volante by Mr. Bungle. Although Faith No More is known for their eclectic brand of hard rock/alternative metal, Mr. Bungle move well past that, playing around with sounds that borrow from a variety of styles including tango, doom metal, country, jazz, easy listening, Arabic and more. We revisit the album with our suggestor Scott, who shares how he discovered the band, what went into seeing the band eight nights in a row in eight different cities, neural pathways, double grooved records, and much more. Songs in this Episode: Intro - Desert Search for Techno Allah 5:33 - History of the Band 17:04 - Platypus 25:36 - Carry Stress In The Jaw 30:44 - Merry Go Bye Bye (Nothing) Outro - After School Special Request a 2017 Review / Subscribe at Patreon Facebook / Twitter / Instagram Zazzle Merch Store http://www.digmeoutpodcast.com
