The Stinking Pause Podcast - bringing you classic movies since 2013...some good, some not so good.   This week, it's Anthony's turn to join Scott and Paul to take a look at an American cop classic from the seventies   Anthony is the host of Film Gold, Life And Life Only and Glass Onion: On John Lennon.   Electra Glide In Blue (1973)     The only thing good-hearted motorcycle cop John Wintergreen (Robert Blake) wants is to become a detective. To wear a big Stetson, smoke fancy cigars and be paid to think. So when he stumbles upon a dead body, he takes the case - and proves he's got the right stuff. But as soon as he's promoted, he finds that the corruption he must tolerate makes his Stetson not fit so well and the cigars not taste so good. Forced to confront his own disillusionment, Wintergreen heads out on his bike, the Electra Glide, and makes another shocking discovery that could cost him his life.   "I hate that motorcycle they make me ride. I'm here to tell you there ain't nothing in the world I hate worse than that elephant under my ass."   This and previous episodes can be found everywhere you download your podcasts   Follow us on Twitter @StinkingPause   email: thestinkingpause@gmail.com   Thanks for listening!

Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Have you seen the new Harley 2021 Electra Glide Revival? It's part of Harley's new "Icons Collection". Harley says this collection is, "an extraordinary series of motorcycles inspired by some of our most recognizable and sought-after models. Each Icon in the collection will celebrate H-D's signature colors, designs and parts — along with the latest technology. A limited collection, each model will be individually numbered and only produced once. A new Icon will debut annually, with no more than two bikes released in any given year." SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We had special guest and long time Patron Member Russell Roberts on a mic for this podcast episode. He happened to be in our area, so of course, we offered up a mic! Lurch and I had a great time catching up with Russell and we talked about some of the awesome things going on with the community in the Private Patron Member Only Facebook Group! On their website, Harley goes on to describe the new 2021 Electra Glide Revival as, "a modern reproduction of the 1969 classic. Loaded with all of the current technology including Reflex™ Defensive Rider Systems*, Boom! Box GTS 6.5 Radio with Apple CarPlay® compatibility and powered by the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine, this unmistakable silhouette recreates that moment in time with tri-tone paint and period correct badging." CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! We give our thoughts and opinions about the new Electra Glide Revival and the overall Icons Collection Harley has introduced. We certainly all agree that it's a specialty motorcycle and will only appeal to a small segment of the market. Maybe this collection is a way to revive the rich history of Harley-Davidson and through social media posts, it may catch the eyes of those on the fence about buying a Harley? It may just be a way to get more eyes on their motorcycles.  Last, we talk about Harley-Davidson reverting back to the cable clutch system on their 2021 touring models. From 2014 to 2020, Harley had a much better hydraulic clutch system on the touring line-up. This has really stunned many loyal Harley owners as many feel it's a backward step in technology. It feels cheap for Harley to do this and then not reduce the price of the motorcycle. After all, this is supposed to be a premium touring motorcycle? And now with a cable clutch? Really Harley? The Harley hydraulic clutch system was a much better system and caused less hand fatigue. Plus, it was self-adjusting and always had a consistent pull and friction zone, unlike cable clutches. If you actually like some adjustment on the clutch lever itself on hydraulic systems, then there are many aftermarket adjusting levers to choose from.  You'll really need to listen to this podcast episode as we break everything down and tell you what you need to know. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Harley released their latest touring bike, the Electra Glide Standard, and kept it pretty low key. Harley is calling it the "dressed down dresser". It comes in at a cheaper option than the Street Glide, Road Glide or either of those "special" models. In this podcast episode, we break things down for you and what this new Harley is all about and who it may be for, so listen in. The 2019 Harley Electra Glide is basically a stripped down Street Glide and so that's what I am going to compare it to. The Harley Electra Glide starts at $18,999 and the basic Harley Street Glide starts at $21,289. The Street Glide special jumps up to a starting price tag of $27,089.  SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE The 2019 Harley Electra Glide Standard is an awesome and capable touring bike. I say that because I ride a 2018 Police Electra Glide every day for work. It is a highly capable bike and I think it's great that Harley made a regular public model here in 2019.  Understand that the Harley Electra Glide lacks a stereo/infotainment system of any kind and there is just an empty open storage box in that location. It doesn't come standard with ABS brakes but hey can be added for $795. I strongly suggest you add ABS brakes if nothing else as they save lives. It also lacks a two-up passenger seat and passenger pegs but anything can be added based on your needs.  CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! I'll also mention, the Electra Glide has smaller wheels and the tires are thicker than the Street Glide. The windshield is tall and plain and it has the regular square rear brake/signal setup. You can only get this bike in black. All these things separate its look from the Street Glide a bit.  The 2019 Harley Electra Glide comes with the very capable Milwaukee-Eight 107 motor. Yes, it comes standard with cruise control, which is a must for any touring bike.  Harley has recently been making moves to appeal to a broader demographic of riders. I believe the 2019 Harley Electra Glide Standard is an attempt to grab riders who may now be able to get into motorcycle touring at a lower price point.  The 2019 Electra Glide Standard is a cheaper price and stripped down but a very capable Harley touring model. It will be interesting to see how well this bike sells.  Remember, that for close to $2,000 more than the 2019 Harley Electra Glide Standard you can get a Street Glide Standard, which comes standard with ABS brakes, a basic version of the Boom Box radio (4.3 non-touch screen), two up passenger seat, passenger pegs, and paint options. But, everyone's budget is different, so the Electra Glide may be the best option for many. You can always build this bike up how you want it.   Listen in to this podcast episode as we break it down even further than this short article. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com I have been riding and training on my 2013 Police Harley Electra Glide for some time now. I love this bike and work on it daily as a Motorcycle Police Officer. I am retiring this bike that now has about 30,000 miles on it, which is standard for the agency I work for. It will become a spare bike and mostly sit. I'm being issued a brand new 2018 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Police Edition and I'm super excited. These Police Harley's come stock with a bunch of emergency equipment, wiring, and switches. We also have to customize them locally with radios and computers.  SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Listen in as we discuss my new Police Harley. My 2013 has the 103 motor and a cable clutch. My new 2018 Harley will have the 107 ci Milwaukee-Eight motor and a hydraulic clutch. Switching from a Harley cable to hydraulic clutch can take some time when riding aggressively on training courses, but it's not a big deal for me as my personal 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special has a hydraulic clutch. Generally speaking, a cable clutch has a little bigger gray area than a hydraulic. For years, we adjusted our cable clutch to exactly where we wanted it to engage when we let the lever out. GET OUR HARLEY MILWAUKEE-EIGHT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGE VIDEO HERE With a hydraulic clutch there are no adjustments at all. However, we are testing some aftermarket adjustable clutch levers for our police Harley's and are liking them. I will do a future video review of what model of adjustable lever we decide on, so stay tuned and make sure you are subscribed to our YouTube Channel.  My 2013 Police Harley is a pre-2014  Rushmore model. My 2013 bike shakes quit a bit, especially at idle. This new 2018 Harley is amazing and they got ride of a ton of shaking and vibration with the Milwaukee-Eight motor. The power increase is very noticeable too. I have already ridden new Police Milwaukee-Eight bikes and the transition will be fairly easy for me.  This bike is powerful and smooth.  Listen in as we give you an inside look and details on what it takes to get up and running with a Police Harley. It is quite a process before the bike is ready to hit the road. I actually stripped down the two new Harley's we got. I removed the fairings, seats, and fuel tanks to give our radio & computer guys access to equip the bikes. I will put the bikes back together when they are done.  Sponsor-Ciro 3D CLICK HERE!
