Amy and Stephen Allwine were a happy, devout Christian couple living in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Amy was a successful dog trainer; Stephen, a church elder and IT specialist. Who could possibly wish this wonderful, kind woman dead? Months later when Amy was found dead in the couple's home from a single gunshot wound, it appeared to be a suicide. But the crime scene raised questions. As investigators dug deeper, troubling details emerged—betrayal, secrets, a double life and a twisted version of faith.Support us on PatreonToday's snacks: Entenmann's Fudge Iced Golden Cake and Mini Crumb Cake (thanks Anne!), also Pop'umsSources:https://www.cbsnews.com/news/48-hours-disrupts-alleged-dark-web-hitmen-in-potential-murder-for-hire-plots/https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5312457/Man-trial-killing-wife-staging-like-suicide.htmlhttps://www.fox9.com/news/stephen-allwine-sentenced-to-life-in-prison-for-wifes-murderhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/383606874/https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-iba-3&ei=UTF-8&hsimp=yhs-3&hspart=iba&p=Besa+Mafia&vm=r&type=dkff_9317_FFW_ZZ#id=2&vid=6fbc51b0d98560a0bf5e23089b4de999&action=clickhttps://www.fox9.com/news/convicted-dark-net-killer-claims-innocence-i-couldnt-have-done-ithttps://www.wired.com/story/dark-web-bitcoin-murder-cottage-grove/

This week, Chris Cyr joins the Idiots. 00:00 Introductions 00:37 The Debate 10:50 The Squad 21:56 Disney 28:13 Corporate Vigilance 31:38 Online Fraud 32:54 Josh Duggar —Is Rex Huppke the dumbest man on the planet? Maybe. Rex posted an opinion piece on June 25th, several days before the first presidential debate. His take? Trump was going to chicken out, and not attend. Well guess what? That didn't happen. Here's a hot take: instead of posting hot takes, allow events to occur, and then report on them. Isn't that what the news is supposed to be, a summation of daily happenings? From that stepping off point—mocking Rex Huppke—the idiots (and Chris) discuss what happened that fateful night. Biden was old and confused; Trump lied every time he opened his mouth. Which will be more alarming to voters? Lies and incompetence, or a stutter? We'll find out in November. —Oh, Jamaal Bowman, we hardly knew ye.  The Squad, the famous group of insane members of Congress who fight for supposed moral justice more than they do the economic benefit of all, lost the fire alarm pulling, shirt waving, insane Jamaal Bowman.  Voters in New York's 16th District gave George Latimer a shot at the seat, causing AOC to blame $25 million in ad buys, not the fact Bowman probably wasn't the best fit for the job. Because reality should never pierce the veil of delusion, should it? (Hint: it was probably his Anti-Semitism and bizarre stance on Israel that lost him the seat.) —This gets a little messy, but stay with us… Disney fired actress Gina Carano, because she didn't align with them politically. And they said so. Publicly. So now Gina is suing Disney for wrongful termination. Seems pretty cut and dried, right? Well… Since the God-awful Supreme Court of 2010, which in retrospect might have been somehow better than the compete dumpster fire of a SCOTUS we have today, handed down Citizens United, corporations are people. Which means Disney has a right to free speech of its own. But seriously, all they had to do is shut up. Gina Carano is a block of wood. Her acting should have spoken for itself here. —The United States is a sue-happy country. People file lawsuits at the drop of a hat, which is absurd.  So, corporations are fighting back, and one way they're covering their bases is by warning consumers about items not even in their product. Why? Just to be safe. The FDA, for some reason, has an issue with this. Look, government… You can't have it both ways. You don't get to let swindlers sue anyone, at any time, and not give people a way to guard against that. Sara Lee and Entenmann's took a creative approach to warning labels, and the Idiots approve. —Go big or go home? No! Go small and succeed!  The Idiots often talk about the dumbest people on the planet, those who fall for easily verified online scams to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars…  Well, “Paul Schwartz” of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (not really) is making bank $600 at a time. He doesn't string people along, he just takes the cash and runs. Well done, “Paul.” (And everyone out there: verify, verify, verify, before giving anyone online any money.) —Josh Duggar is a horrible human being for many, many reasons. I mean, most of the Duggar family is. (Thanks, Jim Bob and Michelle. You really put some awful out there into the world.) But Josh, he's not just awful, he's a convicted criminal, and not for something small, like petty theft. Not. Josh was into children. In the worst way. Well, when you're a criminal with a healthy ego, everything you do should be a-ok with the world, right? Criminal conviction because you're a pervert? Pfft, that's not fair, I'm Josh Duggar! So he asked the Supreme Court to overturn (or at least examine) his case. Hilarious. Idiots on Parade: we mock the news, so you don't have to. Tune in and get your giggle on. Angels 6, White Sox 4 – Drury, Angels spoil Hendriks’ return with 6-4 victory over White Sox Brandon Drury and Matt Thaiss homered during a fast start for the Los Angeles Angels, who spoiled Liam Hendriks’ return for the Chicago White Sox with a 6-4 victory. Drury hit a three-run shot and Thaiss followed with another drive during a four-run first inning against a shaky Michael Kopech. Hendriks pitched the eighth in his first big league appearance since he was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The crowd of 23,599 roared when he walked out to the bullpen after the fourth, and then saluted the All-Star closer with a standing ovation when he entered the game. Cubs 1, Rays 0 – Stroman pitches 1-hitter as Cubs beat major league-leading Rays 1-0 Marcus Stroman pitched a one-hitter, and the Chicago Cubs beat the major league-leading Tampa Bay Rays 1-0. He set a season high with 105 pitches and matched one with eight strikeouts. The right-hander walked one in winning his third straight start and helping the Cubs bounce back from a weekend sweep by the Cincinnati Reds. The only hit Stroman allowed was when Wander Franco delivered a clean single to left leading off the seventh. He then walked Brandon Lowe, but got out of that jam by getting Randy Arozarena to fly out and Josh Lowe to ground into a double play. Hendriks allowed two runs in the eighth inning against the Los Angeles Angels. The closer was reinstated from the 15-day injured list before the series opener. Fellow reliever Jimmy Lambert was placed on the IL with right ankle inflammation. The 34-year-old Hendriks had no record and a 10.80 ERA in six rehab appearances with Triple-A Charlotte. The Australian right-hander allowed one run and one hit in one inning in his last game with the Knights on May 16. NHL – NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs – Conference Finals (Best of 7) Last Night Western Conference Finals Vegas Golden Knights 6, Dallas Stars 0                                  (VGK wins 4-2) Golden Knights 6, Stars 0 – Golden Knights reach 2nd Stanley Cup Final after Game 6 win over Stars William Karlsson scored two goals and had an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights advanced to their second Stanley Cup Final with a 6-0 rout over Dallas. The Stars had extended the Western Conference Final to six games after losing the first three. William Carrier, Keegan Kolesar and Michael Amadio each had a goal and an assist for the Knights. Jonathan Marchessault also had a goal. Carrier, Marchessault and Karlsson were part of the inaugural 2017-18 Knights season that ended in their Cup Final. Adin Hill stopped 23 shots for his second career playoff shutout — both against the Stars. Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers will be Saturday night in Las Vegas.  It will be the first Stanley Cup Championship for either team. NBA – National Basketball Association Playoffs – Conference Finals (Best of 7) Last Night Eastern Conference Finals Miami Heat 103, Boston Celtics 84                                        (MIA wins 4-3) Heat 103, Celtics 84 – Jimmy Butler helps Heat to 103-84 Game 7 win over Celtics and spot in NBA Finals Jimmy Butler scored 28 points and Caleb Martin gave Miami 26 points and 10 rebounds in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals to help the Heat beat the Celtics 103-84 and turn back Boston’s attempt at an unprecedented comeback. The Heat recovered after blowing a 3-0 lead in the series and advanced to the NBA Finals for the second time in four seasons. They will face the Western Conference champion Nuggets. Game 1 is in Denver on Thursday night. Miami is the first No. 8 seed to play for a championship since the 1999 New York Knicks. Top-seeded Denver has been waiting since sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers on May 22. Game 6 hero Derrick White scored 18 for Boston. NBA – 76ers hire former Raptors coach Nick Nurse, AP source says A person with knowledge of the decision says the Philadelphia 76ers have hired coach Nick Nurse weeks after he was fired by the Toronto Raptors. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the move. Nurse led the Raptors to the 2019 NBA championship after they beat the 76ers in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Nurse will replace Doc Rivers, who was fired after he led the 76ers to their second straight 50-win season behind NBA MVP Joel Embiid but again failed to lead them to the Eastern Conference finals. WNBA – Women’s National Basketball Association Tonight Chicago Sky at Atlanta Dream, 7:00 p.m. Indiana Fever at Connecticut Sun, 7:00 p.m. Tennis – Alcaraz, Djokovic wins French Open debuts Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic both picked up straight-set victories in the first round of the French Open against opponents ranked outside the Top 100 and making their Grand Slam debuts. Alcaraz is seeded No. 1, Djokovic is No. 3 and most everyone expects them to face each other in the semifinals. Alcaraz beat Flavio Cobolli on Monday. Djokovic defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic. With 14-time champion Rafael Nadal sidelined by injury and missing the clay-court major tournament, Alcaraz and Djokovic are popular picks to emerge as the men’s champion. NASCAR – Blaney wins Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte to end winless drought Ryan Blaney pulled away late to win the rescheduled Coca-Cola 600 on Monday at Charlotte Speedway, giving team owner Roger Penske a sweep of the Memorial Day weekend’s top races in the United States. Josef Newgarden won a record-extending 19th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday for Team Penske. It marked the first time Team Penske has earned a sweep of the two races in the same year. Like Newgarden, Blaney went into the crowd to celebrate with fans. Blaney took the lead from William Byron on a restart and led the final 26 laps to win his first Cup Series race since the 2021 Daytona’s Coke Zero Sugar 400. Blaney’s victory snapped a 59-race drought. Indy 500 – Column: Indy 500’s ending creates controversy and conspiracies It’s called “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” because the Indianapolis 500 is supposed to be one of the most dramatic and difficult races in the world. Sure, it’s an automobile race. But it’s also very much entertainment, even if Marcus Ericsson vehemently disagrees. The controversial ending to the 107th running of the Indy 500 gave Josef Newgarden the win. Newgarden drives for Roger Penske, who owns the race and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. So when IndyCar went to an unprecedented one-lap shootout that allowed Newgarden to win the race, well, Ericsson was furious and conspiracy theorists went wild. Indy 500 – IndyCar sure to investigate wheel that flew over stands from Indy 500 wreck IndyCar owner Roger Penske says he is sure series officials will investigate what led to a wheel coming loose during a crash in the Indianapolis 500. The wheel from Kyle Kirkwood’s damaged car ended up sailing over the catch fence and grandstands before landing on a parked automobile. Nobody was hurt. The wheels are supposed to have tethers that keep them attached in the event of a crash, but it appeared that the tether came loose or was ripped apart. Penske said “we were very fortunate we didn’t have a bad accident.” Kirkwood and fellow driver Felix Rosenqvist were uninjured in the crash.   The car that was hit by the tire had to be towed and the driver was given a ride home after the race. NCAAMLAC – Notre Dame wins first men’s lacrosse national title in program history Liam Entenmann made a season-high 18 saves and Brian Tevlin scored a go-ahead goal with 27 seconds left in the third quarter to help Notre Dame claim its first men’s lacrosse national title with a 13-9 victory over Duke. Third-seeded Notre Dame (14-2) had lost in its previous two championship game appearances in 2010 and 2014 — both to Duke. The top-seeded Blue Devils (16-3) were playing in their seventh national championship game in program history. Entenmann made eight saves on nine shots in the first half as Notre Dame cruised to a 6-1 lead after scoring six unanswered goals — from six different players. Notre Dame scored two goals in the final 30 seconds of the third for a 9-7 lead and Quinn McCahon capped a 6-1 scoring run. Hour 1: Boomer & Gio open the show with the Yankees beating the Mets last night. The Yankees got back on track as did Aaron Judge. The Mets are in their stretch run now and need to sweep the Rockies. It was a frustrating loss for the Mets. Jerry is here for his first update but first they talk about Kevin Durant and the Nets. Jerry is the only one on the show that said KD and Kyrie were staying. Alonso had a rough night in the field and at the plate in the Mets' loss to the Yankees. Pete Alonso broke a bat over his thigh and Boomer thinks Al can do it as well. He can't. Who at WFAN can? Fernando Tatis Jr apologizes for his mistake. KD will stay with the Nets. Saquon Barkley went on a podcast and said ‘F everybody'. Dan Campbell says the Lions are ‘going places'. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Boomer saying he wants more David Cone. It was covered by various media outlets. Gio wonders when people will get used to sports being on Amazon and Apple TV+.  Hour 2: The 7am hour begins with calls about streaming sports and why it sucks. Jerry returns for another update and starts with the Yankees beating the Mets. Aaron Judge hit another HR. The Mets only scored 4 runs in this 2-game series against the Yankees. Buck Showalter can't wait for automated strike zones. Boomer is locked in on Willie Keeler and Gio does a Mad Dog impression. Kevin Durant is back with the Nets. Saquon Barkley went on the 2nd Wind Podcast and said ‘F everybody' is his mindset. In the final segment of the hour we talk about Keebler Cookies and Entenmann's cakes.  Hour 3: The 8am hour starts with Boomer & Gio talking to Brady, who does afternoons at 92.3 upstairs. We then go into Kevin Durant staying with the Nets and what that means for the upcoming season. Jerry returns for another update and starts with audio from the Yankees beating the Mets last night. Altuve got plunked last night in the Astros game. Bryce Harper hit 2 HRs in his rehab start. Fernando Tatis Jr meets the media and takes responsibility for his actions. Former QB Len Dawson passed away at 87. Hakeem Nicks is putting his Super Bowl ring up for auction. Geno Smith & Drew Lock continue to battle for the QB spot. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer says a lot happened when he played golf yesterday with Wally, Greg Buttle and Doug Weight. Nick Saban got a contract extension.  Hour 4: The 9am hour starts with Joe G. calling in to yell at Boomer for busting his balls. We talk about the Yankees sweeping the 2 game series from the Mets. Boomer says Benintendi and Judge came to play this series. Jerry returns for his last update of the day and starts with the Yankees beating the Mets. Andrew Benintendi came through and snapped the tie. Buck Showalter and Pete Alonso both said the Mets need to regroup now. Fernando Tatis Jr apologizes for his actions. We somehow talked about monkeypox and crabs. Saquon Barkley went on a podcast and said ‘F everybody'. Len Dawson passed away at 87. In the final segment of the show, we talked about the Giants and Jets. Outside of the Deshaun Watson story, preseason in the NFL has been quiet. We all had an awkward interaction with a higher up in the company during the break. Handshake or hug? Eddie also got a hand on his cheek.
