À l'occasion de sa revue de presse, mercredi matin, Paul Arcand aborde le remaniement ministériel de François Legault qui aura lieu en après-midi, alors que les dernières rumeurs envoient Geneviève Guilbault aux affaires municipales, Bernard Drainville à l’environnement et Ian Lafrenière à la sécurité publique, en remplacement de François Bonnardel qui serait écarté par le premier ministre. «C'est deux poids deux mesures concernant l'impact des témoignages de deux ministres devant la commission Gallant. François Bonnardel se fait tasser... oublions le "spin" du gouvernement et de monsieur Legault qui dit que ça n'a rien à voir avec SAAQclic, c'est intimement lié. Par contre, Geneviève Guilbault, pour des raisons obscures, on ne comprend pas nécessairement pourquoi... elle est pratiquement épargnée!» Les ministres Eric Girard, Christine Fréchette, Jean Boulet, Christian Dubé et Mathieu Lacombe conserveraient toutefois leurs portefeuilles actuels. Paul Arcand précise que sur la scène canadienne, François Legault est le premier ministre le plus impopulaire au pays, selon un sondage Angus Reid dont La Presse fait état mercredi matin. Seulement 22% des Québécois le soutiennent, une baisse de trois points par rapport à juin. À l'occasion de sa revue de presse mercredi, Paul Arcand réagit au dépôt du budget du ministre des Finances du Québec, Eric Girard. Un budget marqué par un déficit historique d'au moins 13,6 milliards pour l'année à venir, dans un contexte de hausse des tarifs douaniers imposés par le président américain Donald Trump. «Ce qu'Eric Girard nous propose, ce sont des chiffres préliminaires, des hypothèses, des variables qui peuvent changer à tout moment. Ce sont des projections assez optimistes du futur, selon les analystes. Et ce futur dépend beaucoup, beaucoup de Donald Trump.» Pour le reste, Paul Arcand estime que le gouvernement, avec cet exercice budgétaire, évite de répondre aux vraies questions et refuse d'avoir une «discussion franche et honnête» sur les finances de l'État. «Dans le fond, aucun débat réel. On préfère, comme toujours, se mettre la tête dans le sable et ne pas regarder la réalité en face. A-t-on encore les moyens de se payer notre système de santé? Eric a gagné récemment le 100 miles de Forillon en Gaspésie avec l'aide de Mathieu comme équipe de soutient (crew), entraîneur (coach).Ils ont développé une super amitié au fil du temps: les deux athlètes qui habitent le Nouveau-Brunswick.Ils se connaissent depuis plusieurs années.Ils ont couru sur le parcours du Gaspésia 100 ensemble, avec des anecdotes assez intense!Ils ont couru aussi ensemble lors de Backyard Ultra. Plus de 200km.On parle un peu plus du parcours d'Eric puisque c'est son premier passage sur le podcast, contrairement à Mathieu: son 3e.Pour en savoir plus sur Math et son approche de coaching: je vous recommande fortement d'aller écouter l'épisode #126 et #144.Très content d'avoir eu cette discussion avec ces deux gars passionnés.Seul on va plus vite, mais ensemble on va plus loin.Pas mal la devise de cette alliance impresionnante des deux acadiens. Bonne écoute!
