The Documentary "Who Killed Nancy?"The 1986 biopic Sid and Nancy largely frames their deaths around a tragic, drug-fueled descent. However, if you are looking into the real-world investigation, the 2009 documentary Who Killed Nancy? directed by Alan G. Parker re-examined NYPD evidence and interviewed 182 people, heavily arguing that Vicious was physically incapable of the crime and pointing the blame back toward the missing money and independent dealers. The true identity of who killed Nancy Spungen remains officially unresolved, though her boyfriend and Sex Pistols bassist, Sid Vicious, was the prime suspect and charged with her murder. On October 12, 1978, Spungen bled to death from a single stab wound to the abdomen in Room 100 of the Hotel Chelsea in New York City. Because Vicious died of a heroin overdose less than four months later while out on bail, the case never went to trial and was legally closed. Over the decades, three primary theories have dominated the mystery:1. Sid Vicious Killed HerThis is the official police theory. The weapon used was a hunting knife owned by Vicious. He gave conflicting statements, initially confessing by saying, "I did it... because I'm a dirty dog," before later recanting and claiming he had been asleep after taking heavy doses of sedatives. 2. A Robbery and Drug Deal Gone WrongThe Hotel Chelsea was highly chaotic that night, with numerous drug dealers and visitors drifting in and out of Room 100. A substantial stack of cash belonging to the couple went missing from the room. Many of Vicious's peers—including Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren—strongly believed Sid was passed out from drugs and that a thief stabbed Nancy when she caught them stealing. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]3. Actor and Drug Dealer Rockets RedglareA prominent alternative theory points to Rockets Redglare, a late actor, stand-up comedian, and drug dealer who served as Vicious's bodyguard. Redglare had delivered drugs to the room hours before the body was found. According to some investigators and punk rock historians, Redglare allegedly killed Spungen during a struggle when he tried to rob the apartment. Margaux Anbouba, Vogue's Senior Wellness and Beauty Editor is a little bit of a guinea pig when it comes to wellness and beauty trends. “I think I am sometimes too game to try something, but it's a lot of fun,” Margaux admits, “It's a hazard of the job, I suppose.” In this episode, she sat down with Chloe to talk about everything in the space she's been trying lately and to what effect.  They started off by talking about one of the hottest and also most hotly contested wellness options on the market right now: peptides. Margaux recently visited longevity specialist Dr. Amanda Kahn, “the peptide princess” of the Upper East Side, for a lengthy introductory appointment where they covered all of her medical and personal history. “I talked to her about how I'm feeling emotionally, how I'm feeling physically, and then she came back to me with this incredible list of peptides I could try.” Margaux plans to try several different peptides in her stack; among them is an off-label microdose of GLP-1s, in hopes of reducing inflammation throughout her body. She's also trying out GHK, which is meant to help with skin regeneration, and CB-4211 for increased exercise capacity and energy. Relatively new to exercising, Margaux tells Chloe about Emsculpt, a sort of high-intensity electrical muscle stimulation used to tighten and tone. Another similar technology is EMS, which is a low-level stimulation that helps deepen contractions during workouts. “It's sort of Black Mirror-ish in a way,” she says of the device. The first time she tried Emsculpt, after removing the device from her stomach, she was incredibly sweaty. The second time, less so. Generally, practitioners recommend four sessions. The pair also discuss one of Margaux's favorite (and less sweaty) activities—the buccal massage. Buccal refers to the mid-face area right below the cheekbone, and this massage technique takes place both inside and outside the mouth—yes, there will be fingers inside your mouth. Mariam Saprichyan, an esthetician at Karine Kazarian in New York and practitioner of buccal massage, explains that it opens up the lymph nodes, helps with blood flow, and relieves much of the tension we hold in our faces. Not particularly squeamish, Margaux shares another of her latest trials: injecting RADIESSE biostimulating molecules into her scalp. At a swanky room in The Hotel Chelsea, Margaux met with Los Angeles-based Nurse Practitioner Lauren Goodman. “She talked to me about how the scalp is a way to do a lot of lifting without showing anything on the face.” It's informally referred to as a crown lift. And there will always be more to try! According to the Japanese-born, New York–based architect Shohei Shigematsu, there's such a thing as a building being too refined. What matters most, in his view, is creating what he calls “memorable space”: the antithesis of anything lifeless or lacking a symbiotic relationship to the city or its surroundings. As a long-time partner at the firm OMA, Shigematsu leads its New York studio with a sense of openness, radicality, and unexpectedness. This week, for our 50th episode, we talk memoirs, the art scene of the 1970s, the late Robert Mapplethorpe, and the incomparable Patti Smith. We talked Just Kids by Patti Smith.  "WINNER OF THE NATIONAL BOOK AWARD “Reading rocker Smith's account of her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, it's hard not to believe in fate. How else to explain the chance encounter that threw them together, allowing both to blossom? Quirky and spellbinding.” -- People It was the summer Coltrane died, the summer of love and riots, and the summer when a chance encounter in Brooklyn led two young people on a path of art, devotion, and initiation. Patti Smith would evolve as a poet and performer, and Robert Mapplethorpe would direct his highly provocative style toward photography. Bound in innocence and enthusiasm, they traversed the city from Coney Island to Forty-Second Street, and eventually to the celebrated round table of Max's Kansas City, where the Andy Warhol contingent held court. In 1969, the pair set up camp at the Hotel Chelsea and soon entered a community of the famous and infamous, the influential artists of the day and the colorful fringe. It was a time of heightened awareness, when the worlds of poetry, rock and roll, art, and sexual politics were colliding and exploding. In this milieu, two kids made a pact to take care of each other. Scrappy, romantic, committed to create, and fueled by their mutual dreams and drives, they would prod and provide for one another during the hungry years. Just Kids begins as a love story and ends as an elegy. It serves as a salute to New York City during the late sixties and seventies and to its rich and poor, its hustlers and hellions. Forster. Among the 1,614 featured works you will find towering sculptures by the late Phyllida Barlow RA, Richard Malone's dramatic mobile installation in the Wohl Central Hall, and a witty painting by comedian Joe Lycett. Plus pieces by Tracey Emin RA, Hew Locke RA, Barbara Walker RA, Gavin Turk, Lindsey Mendick, Caroline Walker and much, much more.Remfry was born in Worthing, UK, in 1942. His family moved to Hull and he studied Art and Printmaking at the Hull College of Art. He currently lives and works in London. Since 1973 he has exhibited regularly at galleries and museums across the UK, Europe and the USA. In 2014 he was commissioned by Fortnum & Mason, London, to create a series of watercolours which is now on permanent display in Piccadilly, and he was commissioned to paint Sir John Gielgud for the National Portrait Gallery, London, which also acquired for their collection his portrait of Jean Muir.Remfry was elected a member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1987.
