God never works outside of His word Psalm 115:16 “The highest heavens belong to the Lord but the earth he has given to mankind (sons, children of Adam)” and Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule (have dominion) over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” In order to have authority, Jesus had to come as a human! (Son of Adam) God never undermines his own authority! God never controls or manipulates! Hallelujah! All Authority is delegated. From a study of ‘exousia', there is: Personal Authority (private, self) Positional Authority (public, seated with Christ, sphere of influence) Principal Authority (power demonstrated, supreme, government of Christ, the Church!) Three stages of authority: Fill - Subdue - Rule. God's Word (destiny) - Human Response (action) - Our Authority (heaven and earth) Vision - Function - Mission Know your authority in the Lord. Walk out on His word and live the way He intended you to. Jesus is restoring all things, authority is one of them, let's walk in our authority. https://www.revivalfires.org.uk https://linktr.ee/revivalfires

In uncertain times, leaders face the challenge of guiding their teams through change while inspiring confidence and maintaining accountability. In our latest episode of Peak Performance Leadership, guest speaker Leah Mether sheds light on the importance of clarity, communication, and emotional intelligence during times of uncertainty. Leah emphasizes the need for leaders to acknowledge the uncertainty that their teams may be experiencing, while also expressing their commitment to leading them through it. By setting clear expectations and having conversations about baseline behaviors, leaders can create a foundation for accountability and navigate potential conflicts that may arise during change. Understanding the human experience and caring about the emotions and feelings of team members is vital for effective leadership. Leah highlights the role of emotional intelligence in achieving results and discusses the significance of genuinely caring for employees and supporting them throughout change. This approach leads to smoother transitions and more resilient teams. The episode also delves into the differences between leadership and management, debunking the misconception that they are interchangeable. Leah explains that while management is task-oriented and hierarchical, leadership is about empowering people and investing in the "people part" of leading. By focusing on building strong relationships and creating a culture that promotes accountability, leaders can unlock their team's peak performance. Additionally, Leah shares insights from her upcoming book, "Steer Through the Storm," which explores the art of leading through change that is not necessarily within the leader's control. Whether it's responding to government decisions, adapting to new regulations, or navigating shifts imposed by the parent organization, leaders at all levels can benefit from the strategies shared in this invaluable resource. Meet Leah With more than 15 years' experience working with thousands of clients, and two acclaimed books to her name, Leah knows what it takes to communicate under pressure. Like you, she knows the challenge of conflict, personality clashes, and difficult conversations. Winging it in communication simply won't cut it and avoidance only makes problems grow. There is a structure that works, and it starts with you. Leah is renowned for her practical, engaging, straight-shooting style. Utilizing her Five Cs® model of communication, she helps leaders and teams shift from knowing to doing, and radically improve their effectiveness. Her clients represent a diverse range of industries, government agencies, and businesses across Australia – including AGL, Optus, Latrobe Community Health Services, and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Sean Illing talks with evolutionary anthropologist David Samson, whose new book Our Tribal Future delves into how tribalism has shaped the human story — and how we might be able to mitigate its negative effects in the future. Sean and David discuss how and when tribal organization came on the scene, what changed in human organization when it did, and how taking advantage of some positive aspects of tribal alignment could provide a path toward inoculating humanity against stubborn, regressive divisiveness. Green Building. Organic Architecture. Regenerative Design. These concepts have come to prominence recognizing the built environment as one of the largest contributors of carbon dioxide emissions, using toxic materials that can damage human health as well as pollute the environment. Following Nature's design process, our guest this week has developed an organic approach to design with an eye toward innovative buildings that embody ecological & social responsibility. Organic architecture, coined by master architect Frank Lloyd Wright, unifies every element of the building—from windows to doors and even floors and furniture—with Nature. Biomimicry has become an important advance in this movement, harnessing functional design elements from—mimicking—Nature. Our guest, award-winning Architect Eric Corey Freed, 12-time Author, and Director of Sustainability for CannonDesign, has made this central to his work when designing buildings. On this show we discuss Eric's approach to designing for the human systems, our senses, cycles, and signals, to engage people through using biology as a technology. We explore his process in how to build a non-toxic building that can also increase our connection to the natural world. If that sounds abstract, Eric Corey Freed is here to walk us through the work he has been doing for decades now. Eric Corey Freed is an award-winning architect, author, and global speaker. As Principal and Director of Sustainability for CannonDesign [https://www.cannondesign.com/people/eric-corey-freed], he leads the healthcare, education, and commercial teams toward low-carbon, healthy, regenerative buildings for over 30 million square feet a year. For two decades, he was Founding Principal of organicARCHITECT [http://www.organicarchitect.com/about/ecf.html], a visionary design leader in biophilic and regenerative design. He serves on the board of Design Museum Everywhere, whose mission is to “bring the transformative power of design to all.” Eric is the author of 12 books, including "Green Building & Remodeling for Dummies” and "Circular Economy for Dummies." In 2012, he and his firm were named one of the 25 "Best Green Architecture Firms" in the US, and one of the "Top 10 Most Influential Green Architects." Jessica Aldridge, Co-Host and Producer of EcoJustice Radio, is an environmental educator, community organizer, and 15-year waste industry leader. She is a co-founder of SoCal 350, organizer for ReusableLA, and founded Adventures in Waste. She is a former professor of Recycling and Resource Management at Santa Monica College, and an award recipient of the international 2021 Women in Sustainability Leadership and the 2016 inaugural Waste360, 40 Under 40. In the midst of war, the loss of his mother, and the heartbreak of unrequited love, poet W.H. Auden was rediscovering his faith. And the fitting response to the darkness and despair and apathy around him, he thought, was the Christmas event. So he set to work on a Christmas Oratorio called For the Time Being. Originally meant to be performed and sung, what emerged is a much more sobering and stark retelling of the Christmas narrative than you're used to. Auden's modernist poetry becomes a way for a modern humanity—whose resources are spent, whose plans have gone awry, whose hopes have been misplaced, whose sense of time has been unwound—to find redemption amidst the quotidian, the mundane, and the everyday. But also always in an eternally full "moment of decision"—a response to the bare fact of the Incarnation of God in infant Jesus. Evan Rosa is joined by writer Jeff Reimer (Associate Editor, Comment Magazine), who suggests that this modernist retelling of Christmas helps us to diagnose and treat the quintessentially modern vice of acedia, the noonday demon. They discuss the anachronistic cast of characters Auden uses to comment on the human condition. They read and marvel at several passages of the text. And they consider what Auden takes to be the matter of ultimate importance in our experience of Christmas: responding to the audacious claim that God has become human.About Jeff ReimerJeff Reimer is a writer with bylines at Commonweal, Comment, Plough, and Fare Forward.
