Association's legislative priorities, have things gone well in the past month, or have there been issues to resolve in Lansing? Less than a month from now are your Impact Awards, tell us about that celebration? Over a half dozen categories of recognition, can you review some of them, and their focus? Outside of legislative priorities what are the biggest talent issues or solution models that Michigan Works! is encountering at this time?

In this episode of the Confidence Mastery podcast, host Natalie Bailey welcomes guest Steve Gallegos, the president of the Voices of Impact Awards. Steve shares his passion for giving everyday people a platform to share their stories and inspire others. He emphasizes the importance of getting someone's name right and the power of using someone's name in a conversation. Steve discusses the significance of storytelling and how it can create connections and eliminate competition. He encourages listeners to have the confidence to share their own stories and offers advice on finding the right story to share. Steve also highlights the importance of asking the right questions and understanding oneself in order to build meaningful connections with others. Overall, this episode explores the transformative power of storytelling and the role it plays in building confidence and connection.KEY TAKEAWAYS The importance of sharing your story: Sharing your story allows you to connect with others on a deeper level and create meaningful relationships. It humanizes you and allows people to understand and relate to your experiences. The power of asking the right questions: Asking the right questions is essential in building connections and understanding others. By asking thoughtful and engaging questions, you can create a space for meaningful conversations and make others feel important. You are not your story: While your story is a part of you, it does not define you. You have the power to rewrite your story and shape your own narrative. By becoming the writer, director, and producer of your story, you can create a more fulfilling and empowered life. Clarity in knowing who you are: Asking yourself the question "Who am I?" is crucial in understanding your identity and values. Knowing who you are allows you to make intentional choices and pursue what truly aligns with your desires and goals. Letting go of need in relationships: It is important to cultivate self-love and value yourself independent of others' opinions or validation. By letting go of the need for external validation, you can create healthier and more fulfilling relationships based on mutual respect and support. BEST MOMENTS"You are not your story. You have a story, you played a part in your story, but you are not your story.""The quality of your life depends on the quality of your questions.""Everything we want in life comes from other people.""You are the writer, the director, and the producer of your story.""The only way to know that you want something is to not have it." Phoebe Yu and Kat Dey are the co-founders of ettitude, an award-winning next-gen materials company innovating eco-textiles to fight climate change. While running two global textile companies, Phoebe Yu realized that textiles is the #2 most polluting industry in the world, and contributes 10% of global CO2 emissions. The CleanBamboo® lyocell manufacturing process is a clean alternative to the chemical- and resource-intensive viscose, cotton, silk and cashmere.Phoebe applied this new technology to the home goods market and launched ettitude's signature bedding line made with CleanBamboo®.Kat Dey, a serial entrepreneur and executive, named one of “35 People to Watch”, met Phoebe online. Prior to ettitude, Dey had a decade of experience scaling mission-driven brands and was on the hunt for “the next big thing”. After sleeping on ettitude sheets and “having the best sleep of her life”, Kat decided to join ettitude as cofounder in 2018 to help scale the company. The brand grew, and customers asked for more products made from ettitude's patented non-toxic, buttery soft, breathable and moisture-wicking fabrics.
