I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 20th of March, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of Matthew 27:54: “Truly this was the Son of God!” Then if you go to Mark 15:39, the very same comment: “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”It took gentiles, unbelievers, to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. You see when they saw what was happening, the earthquakes; the rocks splitting; the graves opening; the saints walking around; a terrible reverence came over them. What saddens me so much at this Easter season, is that there are some churches that do not even celebrate Good Friday. Oh, they celebrate Easter Sunday, The Resurrection, and so do I by the way, but there is a lack of reverence shown for the incredible price that our Lord Jesus Christ paid for our debt and our sin. There is a lack of respect and reverence shown. No crucifixion, no resurrection! I remember Michael Cassidy saying that once and I have never forgotten it. Without the crucifixion there can be no resurrection. Jill and I as new believers, we would come home from church on Good Friday and quietly sit in the garden, maybe with a cup of tea, and just humbly reflect on the gigantic price that Jesus paid for our sinful lives. There is much more reverence required in the church today. I am even talking about dress code. When you go to a special meeting, you get dressed up, don't you? - A wedding or maybe a funeral, but what about coming to church?I always remember one particular Good Friday, we decided at Shalom, to show the movie, The Passion of the Christ. Yes, it is very graphic and maybe for younger children it is not even appropriate, but I want to tell you, I watched that movie and when the movie was finished and the people quietly started leaving our church, I was riveted to my chair. I could not get out of my chair. I was the only one left in the church and I wept and I wept.I went to Israel with my wife, Jill. We went to the Old City and I went to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. As I walked in through those big doors, there are massive doors, there is a little bench inside and on the right-hand side are steps up to where they say was Golgotha. There are two places in Israel, the other one is the garden tomb, which is very special as well, but that particular time, I sat down on that bench and I just broke down. I started to weep uncontrollably. My dear wife had to try and comfort me when I realised what our beloved Master had done for us. This Easter time, please, spend time in the presence of God. Jesus bless you and goodbye.

Again, that’s businessmakers.network. Recently, our reporter David Fowler wrote about the legislation efforts in Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Missouri to enact “covenant marriage license laws” (www.crosspoliticnews.com/news/tony-perkins-and-homosexual-covenant-marriages). in their respective states. When you first look at it, this seems like a good thing. Wouldn’t these covenant marriage license laws help our country return to a more Christian understanding of the world? We’re commanded to spread Christianity in our country and in the world, but this is actually not the way to do it. This isn’t the way to do it because these license laws place the authority of marriage beneath the state’s standard and give the government a power over marriage that it shouldn’t have. It’s not an issue of the government enacting good or bad laws, but of whether the state even has the power and ability to make laws that will give them a defining control over marriage. David Fowler foresaw this in 1998. And then, in 2015, the Obergefell versus Hodges case showed that he was right. In the Obergefell case, there were five justices in the Supreme Court who agreed that marriage is personal, and that civil law could create one type of marriage just as easily as another. In other words, the government could declare homosexual relationships as “civil marriage” because they had the power to define what it could look like. But while we want to keep this power away from the government, we also want governments to preserve a biblical view of marriage. So, how can we do this? Our journalist David Fowler recommends that we require the government to recognize but not administer marriages. When a man and woman would get married, the government would have to, “give notice to the public of their already existing marital relationship.” If we did this, then the standard and definition of marriage would properly be outside the state's control. So, we shouldn’t want the government to enact covenant marriage license laws, but we should have it recognize marriages rightly and biblically understood. After all, if the state doesn’t recognize its proper place, then the covenant marriage license laws could also be easily exploited by the liberals. On a different topic, our journalist Jonathan Kelly wrote about the case of Navy pilot and reservist Michael Cassidy, the man who tore down the Satanic statue that stood in the State Capital of Iowa. Cassidy had turned himself in after destroying the statue, and “pleaded guilty to misdemeanor vandalism but maintained that his actions were not extremist, violent, or a violation of military conduct standards" (www.crosspoliticnews.com/news/navy-clears-michael-cassidy-rejects-extremism-charges-over-satanic-statue-incident). His attorney argued against the bias towards Christians in the military, and he also brought up the larger issue of Satanic statues in our culture because Cassidy’s actions to both Florida and Iowa voting no against installing more of these statues.Cassidy’s boldness not only tore down that one statue then, but it also prevented others from being erected. Returning to Cassidy’s attorney, though, he said that Christians have effectively been told to be quiet, compliant, and secret with their faith. As we can see, Cassidy’s actions have thankfully challenged this mainstream, unbiblical expectation. Christians should thank God that Cassidy has won his case, even we don’t know yet if the Navy leadership will allow him to be completely reinstated into the Navy. Some of you remember Micael Cassidy from a year ago when he chopped the head off of a satanic shrine in Iowa. He has gone through the civil courts and all looks to be expunged but now it's our very own military that is coming after him as a domestic terrorist. What is the limit of free speech in society? What is the limit that Christians should adhere to? In this week's episode, Alex Kocman sits down with Ben Zeisloft, the editor at The Sentinel, a Christian news outlet, to discuss the legal case of Michael Cassidy, who illegally tore down a Satanic statue at the Iowa state capital in December 2023. Together they discuss the origins and application of the First Amendment, why this statue was even allowed to be displayed, and what the Christian response should be when blatant idolatry is allowed in our nation. Ben Zeisloft is editor at The Sentinel, a follower of Christ, and active in pro-life activism. It's Thursday, May 30th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark India imprisoned 70 Christians Officials in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh are holding nearly 70 Christians in jail. They faced arrest under the state's 2020 anti-conversion law. Authorities in the area stormed church meetings and arrested pastors on false charges of forcefully converting Hindus. Once imprisoned, it is very difficult to get Christians out since officials often deny bail applications. Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in India, ranked 11th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven.” 20,000 French Christians March for Jesus Thousands of people joined the March for Jesus over the weekend in cities across France. The motto of the march was “Lets bear witness publicly and in unity about our faith in Jesus Christ.” Organizers wanted it to be “a joyful and peaceful testimony of a living faith that wants to touch hearts, through the praise, prayer and proclamation of the Word of God which are at the heart of the march.” Remarkably, 20,000 marchers turned out in Paris, including many young people. 250,000 dead babies in England and Wales New data shows over 250,000 babies were killed by abortion in England and Wales in 2022. That's the highest on record and an increase of 17% over 2021. The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children noted, “In 2022, medical abortion (drugs/pills) accounted for 86% of all abortions, up from 48% in 2012. Abortions taking place entirely at home increased by 9% between 2021 and 2022, amounting to 61% of all abortions.” 40% of British Christians do not evangelize Also in British news, a recent survey found many Christians in the U.K. don't want to talk about their faith with others. The Institute for the Impact of Faith in Life found nearly 40% of Christians agreed with the statement, “I prefer not to tell people about my faith or religious belief.” However, exclusionist Christians were much more likely to talk about their faith. The survey identified only 28% of Christians as exclusionist, those who say their faith is the only true faith. Speaking of the name of Jesus, the Apostle Peter said in Acts 4:12, “There is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Louisiana bans using force or fraud to give pregnant woman abortion pill In the U.S., Republican Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry signed the Abortion by Fraud Criminalization Act into law last week. The measure bans people from using force or fraud to get a pregnant woman to take an abortion-inducing drug. The law also makes such drugs only available through prescription. Republican state Sen. Thomas Pressly sponsored the legislation. The Office of the Governor noted that Pressly was inspired to do this after his sister was “unknowingly poisoned by her former husband while she was pregnant by the abortion-inducing drug Misoprostol.” Good outcome for Christian who toppled Satanist statue In January, authorities in Iowa charged a Christian Navy veteran with a felony hate crime. The month before, Michael Cassidy had toppled a Satanist statue that was in the state's capitol building. He faced up to five years in jail if convicted. But, last Friday, officials dropped the felony charge. Cassidy posted on Facebook, “Not today, Satan. Pleased to announce the Iowa District Attorney just dropped their absurd felony hate crime charge and instead offered a deferred judgement misdemeanor (a fine, no jail time, nothing permanent on my record), which I accepted. Many thanks to my family, my lawyers, my community, and the many Christians who have supported us. … When Christians stick together, we can, and we will, win.” God is lining up six planets And finally, God has more celestial events in store this year. In recent months, many experienced a solar eclipse and a rare display of the Northern Lights. Next, six planets are set to align in the early morning hours of June 3rd. CBS News reports, “During the solar spectacle, the orbits of Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune, and Saturn will bring the six planets to the same side of the sun. The planets won't form an actual straight line in space, because of the elliptical shapes of their orbits ... but from some angles on Earth, they will appear to be aligned.” Observers will need a telescope or powerful binoculars. And the East Coast will have the best view of the planetary parade. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Thursday, May 30th, in the year of our Lord 2024. The brave new leftists hate statues: memorials to Washington, Lincoln, Franklin, et al have been defaced, or destroyed to placate progressives' sensibilities. Yet, they've found one statue they'll go to great lengths to defend: Disco Satan at the Iowa State House. Here's the latest on Michael Cassidy, a Christian veteran who now faces hate crime charges--including possible jail time--for smashing a Satanic shrine at the Iowa capitol, and the disturbing trend of weaponizing the justice system as "lawfare" against Christians, pro-life advocates, and everyday Americans, with journalist Ben Zeisloft. It's Friday, February 2nd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims forced Pakistani Christians to convert An Islamist cleric presided over the forced conversion of two Christians in Sialkot District, Pakistan after they were tortured into reciting the Islamic conversion creed, reports Morning Star News. On January 22nd, Azam Masih, 28, and his brother, Nadeem Masih, were abducted, beaten with iron rods, and pressured to convert to Islam. Azam was working at his tailoring shop in the Kharota Syedan market when Naseem Shah and accomplices held him at gunpoint and forcibly took him to the house of another suspect, Sunny Shah. The Muslims tortured them and forced the two Christians to recite the Kalima [the proclamation of Islamic conversion] if they wanted to save their lives, threatening to kill them if they refused. The brothers and their impoverished Christian family chose to keep silent about the ordeal, as the suspects had warned them against contacting police. Adil Ghauri of the Movement for Christian Awakening said, “We came to know about this incident on January 24 and immediately contacted the family. After much persuasion, we were able to convince the family to file a First Information Report with the police, as keeping silent would have only encouraged the perpetrators to target more Christians living in the village.” Thankfully, the police arrested a Muslim cleric alleged to have conducted the conversion and registered charges against the suspects of kidnapping, punishable by death or life imprisonment. Women give Biden the edge right now In a hypothetical general election matchup, President Joe Biden holds a lead over Trump, 50%- 44%, among registered voters, according to a January 31st Quinnipiac University national poll. By contrast, in the Quinnipiac December 20, 2023 poll, Biden received 47% support and Trump received 46% support. The gender gap is widening. Today, women support Biden, 58%- 36%. That's up from December when 53% supported Biden and 41% supported Trump. Quinnipiac also polled GOP Presidential contender Nikki Haley. In a head to head match-up today with President Biden, she beats him 47%-42%. Republican National Committee wasted money on limos and flowers In an exclusive Red State report, Jennifer Van Laar documents that between October 20, 2022 and November 30, 2023, the Republican National Committee spent lavishly on limos, consultants, flowers, and office supplies while skimping on Get out the vote efforts, critical data, and investing in state parties. Consider the following, side-by-side comparisons. On floral arrangements, RNC spent $70,328 compared to the Democratic National Committee which spent $795. On consultants, the RNC spent $1,078,279.47 compared to the DNC which spent $114,000. On office supplies, the RNC spent $297,717.64 compared to the DNC which spent $45,005. On limousines, the RNC spent $263,127 compared to the DNC which spent $7,000. When it came to important categories that will make a huge difference in the final election outcomes, like voter File Maintenance, the RNC only spent $39,233 compared to the DNC which spent $235,865. On Get Out The Vote texts, the RNC spent $86,019 compared to the DNC which spent $1,676,923. And on State Outlays, the RNC spent $13,800,200 compared to the DNC which spent $23,835,437. N.J. Dad sues school over daughter's secret gender transition A father is suing a Garden State school district after his daughter's gender transition was allegedly kept a secret from him, reports The Washington Stand. The father, who is remaining anonymous to protect his daughter's identity, found that New Jersey's Delaware Valley Regional High School had been calling his daughter by a male name and male pronouns for at least two months. It all started when a pro-trans student club's staff advisor — who is not licensed to practice either medicine or psychology — asked teachers to refer to the girl by a male name and male pronouns and not to tell her father. The father said, “I was devastated. If a kid gets a headache in school, they have to call the parents to give them Tylenol, but they're going to choose to allow them to identify as something?” He said that his wife died when his daughter was only four years old, and his daughter has been in treatment for depression and anxiety since 2022. The father says he only learned of his daughter's social transition when a neighbor and fellow parent accidentally told him. The father removed his daughter from Delaware Valley Regional High School and began homeschooling her. He said that pro-trans activists in the school system showed her a “fantasyland” version of transgenderism, and once he showed his daughter photos and videos of the reality of gender transition surgeries, she began crying. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Christian veteran charged with hate crime for destroying Satanic idol And finally, a Christian Navy veteran is facing a hate crime charge after he destroyed a Satanic Temple idol set up at the Iowa State Capitol, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Polk County prosecutors upgraded the misdemeanor charge against Michael Cassidy to a hate crime felony charge. On December 14th, Cassidy dismantled the Baphomet Altar at the Iowa State Capitol and destroyed the headpiece. The cost to replace or repair the property is between $750 and $1,500. That amount would make the offense third-degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor, according to Iowa Code Section 716.5. In an interview with The Sentinel, Cassidy said, “The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the Founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars, inside Capitol buildings, as protected by the First Amendment. … I saw this blasphemous statue and was outraged. My conscience is held captive to the Word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so, I acted.” Acts 5:29 says, “We must obey God rather than men.” If convicted, Cassidy faces up to five years in prison for his actions and/or thousands of dollars in fines. He will be arraigned on February 15. Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, February 2nd in the year of our Lord 2024. What You Need to Know is the Truth about American Justice. Michael Cassidy, who made headlines for beheading a Satan statue erected in a public courthouse, has now been charged with a hate crime. Meanwhile, vandals across the country who tear down statues of the American founders are seldom prosecuted. The truth is that we have a two-tiered justice system in America. The regime has weaponized the justice system against their enemies, we the people, while using it to protect bad actors in Antifa and BLM. Steve Goreham, Executive Director of the Climate Science Coalition of America and author of four books on energy, climate change, and sustainable development, joins Ed to discuss his most recent book, Green Breakdown: The Coming Renewable Energy Failure. Steve destroys the fantasy of net-zero emissions and dismantles the hope of widespread electric vehicles. Learn more at stevegoreham.com. Dr. Louis Perron, author of Beat the Incumbent: Proven Strategies and Tactics to Win Elections, joins Ed to discuss the important lessons that can be gained from election losses. Ed and Dr. Perron also discuss the way that messaging through technology has impacted the way elections work, as well as the populist moment occurring in the United States and Europe. Wrap Up: The man who leaked Trump's tax returns received the maximum sentence for his crime: 5 years. Some may say that this is a sign that the system is working, and they are right! Our justice system is working here, and it should be celebrated! But it doesn't mean that the entire justice system is working. There is still work to be done.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Dean's List with Host Dean Bowen – In a startling turn at Iowa State Capital, a Satanic statue is destroyed by Michael Cassidy, sparking debate over religious symbols in public areas. The Satanic Temple's After School Satan Club in schools like Chimney Rock Elementary further stirs controversy. These events challenge our views on religious influence in public life and education, urging a reassessment of values and beliefs in our society.
There is a new study showing that Gen Z is the most frightened generation in history. I am not just talking about anxiety, this is profound fear. Who is the author of fear? Who is the author of hope? Oh by the way, are you the man who tore down and beheaded the satanic shrine in Iowa? We'll talk about who he is, why he decided to do this, and whether or not what he did is a good tactic. There is more to these fears young people are experiencing, such as even having a future. And of course, God tells us constantly to not be afraid. So, is it the absence of God in the lives of these young people that is making them so susceptible to fear? What does God's Word say? Psalm 46:1-31 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.Psalm 23:4Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a]I will fear no evil, for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Episode 1,286 Links:Gen Z more afraid of the world than than previous generations — even though it's safer than ever: studyExclusive: Christian tears down and beheads Satan shrine in Iowa Capitol; Michael Cassidy, a Christian and former military officer, pushed over and decapitated the statue before he discarded the head in a trash can.Can confirm that the @SenatorCardin staffer who filmed himself having sex in a senate hearing room is this guy. Michael Cassidy said he decided "spur of the moment" to travel north to Des Moines and take action against the statue, which had been permitted to be erected not far from the rotunda's Nativity display for Christmas. He told "Jesse Watters Primetime" he wrecked the statue then went straight to Capitol security to tell them what he did. "I wasn't running away or anything like that. I told them what I did," he said, thanking law enforcement for their professionalism following the incident. He was cited for criminal mischief in the fourth degree and released. "I saw that this was going on, I was surprised that the legislature allowed it up and that they didn't do anything to take it down," Cassidy added. He said he wasn't sure what to expect when he came upon the Capitol, citing a prior incident in Springfield, Ill., where groups were chanting after a 2021 erection of a satanic statue in the Illinois State House. In a Tuesday statement, Iowa Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds said she found the statue "absolutely objectionable," but that the best response to objectionable speech is more speech and prayer. After he was charged, several conservative figures rallied to Cassidy's defense, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and conservative commentator Matt Walsh. DeSantis promised to "chip in" for Cassidy's legal fees, writing on X, formerly Twitter, that "Satan has no place in our society and should not be recognized as a ‘religion’ by the federal government." Walsh similarly tweeted he will contribute to Cassidy's defense. Host Jesse Watters noted the contrast between reaction to Cassidy's act and the dozens of protests in recent years that featured left-wing activists tearing down statues of Confederate officers, former U.S. presidents and historical figures like Christopher Columbus. He pointed to then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi's, D-Calif., dismissal of the crowd in her home neighborhood of Little Italy, Baltimore, who leveled the Columbus statue and tossed it in the Patapsco River. "People will do what they do," Pelosi said at a July 2020 press conference. The city of Richmond, Va., in recent years removed an entire street's worth of statuary dedicated to Confederate Gens. A. P. Hill, "Stonewall" Jackson and J. E. B. Stuart, all of which lined the former Confederate capital's "Monument Avenue" for decades. Left-wing protesters notably failed to topple the statue of Andrew Jackson, the first Democratic president, near the White House in 2020 after being rebuffed by law enforcement. In that respect, Watters said there appears to be a dichotomy between what statuary destruction causes mainstream or left-wing outrage. Cassidy's attorney, Davis Younts, said his client's case is a question of good versus evil, and that he and those who have come to his defense will continue to stand by him to make sure he gets equal protection under law. He also said there has not yet been a First Amendment suit in case law that has found Satanism to be considered a religion under the Constitution, and that anti-blasphemy laws still exist in the United States. https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2023/12/17/church-of-england-blesses-same-sex-couples-for-the-first-time/ Church of England Blesses Same-Sex Couples For the First Time Church of England priests offered officially sanctioned blessings of same-sex partnerships for the first time on Sunday, though a ban on church weddings for gay couples remains in place amid deep divisions within global Anglicanism over marriage and sexuality. In one of the first ceremonies, the Rev. Catherine Bond and the Rev. Jane Pearce had their union blessed at St John the Baptist church, in Felixstowe, eastern England, where both are associate priests. The couple knelt in front of Canon Andrew Dotchin, who held their heads as he gave “thanks for Catherine and Jane, to the love and friendship they share, and their commitment to one another as they come before you on this day.” The church´s national assembly voted in February to allow clergy to bless the unions of same-sex couples who have had civil weddings or partnerships. The words used for the blessings, known as prayers of love and faith, were approved by the church´s House of Bishops on Tuesday and used for the first time on Sunday. The compromise was struck following five years of discussions about the church´s position on sexuality. Church leaders offered an apology for the church´s failure to welcome LGBTQ people, but also endorsed the doctrine that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. Clergy won´t be required to perform same-sex blessings if they disagree with them. The blessings can be used in regular church services. The church´s governing body has also drawn up a plan for separate “services of prayer and dedication” for same-sex couples that would resemble weddings, but it has not yet been formally approved. Public opinion surveys consistently show that a majority of people in England support same-sex marriage, which has been legal since 2013. The church didn´t alter its teaching on marriage when the law changed. Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has said he won´t personally bless any same-sex couples because it´s his job to unify the world’s 85 million Anglicans. Welby is the spiritual leader of both the Church of England and the global Anglican Communion of which it is a member. Several Anglican bishops from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific said after the February decision that they no longer recognize Welby as their leader. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/12/18/poll-54-of-democrat-voters-want-to-replace-joe-biden-as-2024-nominee/ Poll: 54% of Democrat Voters Want to Replace Joe Biden as 2024 Nominee Democrat party voters are unhappy President Joe Biden, 81, is the presumptive Democrat nominee to likely challenge former President Donald Trump, Fox News polling revealed Sunday. The survey showed: 54 percent of Democrat primary voters prefer an alternative to Biden. Just 43 percent of Democrat primary voters want to keep Biden. The polling showed a slight uptick in negative sentiment against the president: October: 53 percent prefer an alternative, while 45 want to keep Biden March: 52 percent prefer an alternative, while 44 want to keep Biden Biden previously told reporters in December he must run for reelection after prominent Democrats implored him to reconsider a second bid against Trump. “Would you be running if Trump wasn’t running?” a reporter asked Biden. “I expect so,” Biden replied. “But he is running, and — I just — I have to run.” Biden’s comment came on the same day he told donors he probably would not run if Trump was not running. “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running,” Biden said, adding that Democrats “cannot let him [Trump] win.” National and battleground state polling shows Biden losing to Trump: Morning Consult: Trump leads Biden in six of seven crucial swing states. NBC News: Trump leads Biden by two points. Fox News: Trump trounces Biden by four points. The four-time MVP ruptured his Achilles Sept. 11 on just his fourth snap as a New York Jet. Four days later, he shocked the world when he said, "Give me your doubts, then watch what I do." At that time, Rodgers did not rule out a return this season, saying that "anything is possible." Most doubted, but it may actually become a reality. According to ESPN, the 40-year-old is likely to be medically cleared to return next week. Rodgers returned to practice Nov. 29, roughly seven weeks since his injury. It was an unprecedented time frame to practice after such an injury. However, Rodgers said he underwent "innovative" surgery in his best effort to get back on the field this season. Rodgers has said he wanted a return on Christmas Eve. The Jets have until Wednesday to decide whether to activate Rodgers from injured reserve. Otherwise, he would miss the rest of the season. Rodgers has wowed just about everyone in the organization with how quickly he has progressed. Earlier this week, he even lined up as a linebacker for the scout team and made a one-handed interception. However, being cleared isn't exactly a guarantee Rodgers would play. The quarterback and the Jets have said the team's playoff chances will play a role in whether he returns. He likely would not return if they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, which could happen this weekend. Rodgers recently said there are hardly any risks in taking the field this season. "My thing is, what’s the worst that can happen?" he told reporters shortly after returning to practice. "Something unfortunate again, and then you just slow the rehab down. I think by my own timetable that if you take the rehab slower and a little more deliberate — five months, six months max — is probably the length to get back to 100% if you really take it slow. So, in my opinion, there's not like a downside to coming back and reinjuring it." The Jets face the Washington Commanders on Christmas Eve.

It's Monday, December 18th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Nigerian Christian mother released from jail After being imprisoned for over 500 days in Nigeria, a Christian mother of five, named Rhoda Jatau, has been released on bail and awaits a trial that could land her up to five more years behind bars if she is found guilty of so-called "blasphemy" against Islam, reports The Christian Post. According to Alliance Defending Freedom International, she is currently in an undisclosed location while she awaits trial for allegedly sharing a video that condemned the lynching of Christian college student Deborah Emmanuel Yakubu. Yakubu was a college student who attended a university in the northwestern Sokoto State who was falsely accused of blaspheming Islam after she posted a message on social media thanking Jesus for helping her pass an exam. Following her post, the college student was targeted, set on fire, and murdered by classmates for sharing her Christian faith. Outraged by the killing of a Christian college student, Jatau took to WhatsApp to condemn the murder of Deborah Yakubu in 2022. In response to her outward expression, a mob targeted the mother of five, had her arrested, and she was imprisoned in May 2022. Although she has previously been denied bail multiple times, a judge in the Bauchi State recently granted bail to Jatau following an international outcry over her imprisonment. God has answered your prayers. Keep praying that she will be acquitted altogether. US and British navies shot down 15 attack drones over Red Sea A U.S. warship shot down 14 suspected attack drones over the Red Sea on Saturday, and a Royal Navy destroyer downed another drone that was targeting commercial ships, reports the Associated Press. Houthi rebels in Yemen, backed by Iran, have launched a series of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, one of the world's busiest shipping routes, and have launched drones and missiles targeting Israel, as the Israel-Hamas War threatens to spread. U.S. Central Command said that the destroyer, USS Carney, “successfully engaged 14 unmanned aerial systems” launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. U.K. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said that Her Majesty's Ship Diamond fired a Sea Viper missile and destroyed a drone that was “targeting merchant shipping.” The overnight action is the first time the Royal Navy has shot down an aerial target in anger since the 1991 Gulf War. New Zealand gov't to remove LHBT indoctrination from schools New Zealand's new government, a coalition between the center-right National party, the libertarian ACT party, and the populist New Zealand First party, has signaled that it will remove gender, sexuality, and relationship-based education guidelines in schools, reports LifeSiteNews.com. It is part of what the new government is describing as its “war on woke.” According to the New Zealand charity, Family First, the previous curriculum sought to “inject sexuality education into the rest of curriculum,” putting “schools at risk of becoming ideological and indoctrinatory spaces.” Primary age children were to “be addressed by their preferred name and pronouns.” Access to toilets had to “align with their gender identification.” And trans students were not required to use a gender-neutral toilet, but could choose the male or female toilets of their choice. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus warned, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Obama thinks Biden could lose the White House According to someone in Barack Obama's inner circle, the 44th president is concerned about Joe Biden's prospects for next year's election and “feels that Democrats very well could lose.” The Wall Street Journal reports that Obama is troubled that Donald Trump is edging ahead in polls, and that voters are concerned with Biden's age and the economy as well as Biden's policies on immigration and Israel. Right now, Trump leads Biden by 2 points in the RealClearPolitics polling average. Christian military veteran destroyed Satanic idol A Christian former military officer has torn down and beheaded the Satanist statue that was erected in the Iowa State Capitol, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The Sentinel explained that on December 14, Michael Cassidy, who once served as a Navy pilot, “pushed over and decapitated the [Satanic] statue before he discarded the head in a trash can.” The Satanic Temple of Iowa previously received permission to set up an exhibit that included a statue of the demonic idol Baphomet. The satanic display was installed in proximity to the Nativity scene on the first floor of the Capitol. Cassidy told The Sentinel he destroyed the shrine to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government. The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment.” He also said, “Anti-Christian values have steadily been mainstreamed more and more in recent decades, and Christians have largely acted like the proverbial frog in the boiling pot of water. I saw this blasphemous statue and was outraged. My conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted.” Cassidy echoed the words of Protestant reformer Martin Luther who refused to recant his Scriptural assertions despite the threats by Pope Leo X to excommunicate him. During Luther's trial in 1521, he famously declared, “Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience would be neither right nor safe. God help me. Here I stand, I can do no other.” 116 US Soldiers Profess Faith in Jesus Christ During Church's Christmas event And finally, an Oklahoma pastor, whose church recently made headlines after seeing 116 Army soldiers accept Jesus Christ, said the mass embrace of faith was the result of his congregation's trusting in the Lord, reports Faithwire.com. Mike Keahbone, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Lawton, told CBN Digital that his church normally puts on its annual Living Christmas Tree musical, a massive Christmas show, for one weekend. But this year, after much prayer, they decided to not only add a second weekend, but also to provide dinner for the soldiers. Word spread like wildfire. Seven hundred soldiers showed up, most of whom were basic trainees. During its 42-year run, the church always presents the Good News in the midst of the Living Christmas Tree musical. Providentially, 116 indicated a decision to trust Christ as Savior. Acts 16:31 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” The church followed up with the chaplains who will now disciple the new believers among the soldiers.
