Today we are going to hear the story of a magical brand that began franchising the “first time” in 2009, with lots of sizzle and appeal. But along with all that, came mis-queued marketing messages and less than stellar unit level economics. Stories like that usually don't end well. NOT SO, with ZOOM ROOM. Mark Van Wye is a founding partner, but he was not the CEO back then. Nor, was he the go-to-guy, responsible for their business systems, financial disciplines, or unit level economics. All of that changed in 2016, when Mark took a Mulligan, buying out his partner, becoming CEO, bringing in venture capital and seizing the opportunity to do things better. This is a great story about a magical brand. Zoom Rooms are indoor dog training gyms with locations across the USA, with many more are on the way. Founded in 2007, they claim to have already made more than 100,000 tails wag. Their motto too, spells it all out. "We don't train dogs. We train the people that love them." Zoom Room v 2.0, came out of the gates in 2018 and has been exploding ever since, with wildly profitable, sustainable growth. Today, in addition to being best in class at in their core competencies, they have also become proficient, in the practice of "sensible franchising."

Ever heard someone claim that the true text of the Bible has been lost through the years? NOT SO! Check this episode out to find out how we know!
Many Christains think that they have acquired too much knowledge of the Word of God to ever be deceived. They believe that only unbelievers and weak, carnal Christians are able to be deceived. NOT SO ! Many seasoned belivers have been led astray. Yes, even on-fire, sold out Christians have left the Lord. Dedication does not safeguard us from deception. The TRUTH is our safe place in a time when delusions and deceptions abound. Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Beloved, far too many of Jesus' saints have listened to Satan's lie that stress is inevitable. They have been told and believed that stress is a condition that we all must learn to live with. NOT SO; Satan is the father of all LIES! We may be living in a world filled with stress..but we do not have to be filled with the stress of the world. The world is desperately seeking a man designed solution to stress...but only our God has the true cure. Our God has given to us a solution, cure and ability to OVERCOME STRESS. John 16:33 KJV...These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In theworld ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcometheworld.
In this episode I give you a sneak behind-the-scenes look at how we put together our new book to launch March 29 PLUS a sample chapter 22 - Divine Connections are Waiting for You.ANYONE can write a book and it is cheaper than you thought. It is also a GREAT way to grow your business, influence or legacy. Imagine 100 years from now, your children's children's children getting to read what you wrote! Here's the link to our blog post Seven Steps to Publish Your Book for Less than $500! Below are updated notes of the current process and how you can get a $250 discount if you wanted to access Chandler Bolts Self Publishing School (a lot more pricey than our process but VERY helpful if you want a step by step process from book idea through to book marketing). So what have we done differently this time in publishing Finding Hope in Crazy Times - Daily Stories of Hearing God? AND what am I learning about book publishing?1. Self-Publish or Traditional Publish? We went with self-publishing route again in order to retain 100% rights to the book and any derivative of it (future workbook, future series...). It's also a fun experiment to learn from previous books we have self-published and keep improving on the process. Other major reasons for self-publishing are margin and marketing. With a traditional publisher you do get an up-front payment which is book commissions paid in advance. The amount depends on their expectation of overall book sales ie. your existing platform and reach (in other words, YOU are still the primary marketing machine - there's no shortcuts). A traditional publisher will then pay you around 10-20% royalty on sales. Self-publishing is 8-10x this. So you have to weigh up number of books sold compared to $/sale and make your own choice which route you will go. We chose to invest in the marketing training in Self Publishing School. I need to sell an additional 500 books to pay for this (should be easy from what I've already learnt). I do recommend Self Publishing School if you are serious about the investment of time and money. If you are serious about this contact me for a $250 discount.2. What has it cost us to self-publish?Here's the breakdown so far:- Write the book. Cost: HOURS and HOURS of evenings and weekends!- Edit the book. Cost: FREE to self edit and get your spouse / friend to proof read- Edit the book again. Cost: $320 through Fiverr.com. Make sure you choose someone with an English literature qualification and lot's of great reviews.- Edit the book AGAIN. Cost: FREE self edit. Every time you read your copy you will spot necessary edits. One of the best ways to find edits is to record it as an audio book. That way you have to read it slowly so you NOTICE how many little errors there are.- Design a cover. Cost: $500 to ??? We paid between $500 and $1,000 depending on how many revisions. Don't skimp on this as it is the first thing people look at and an average cover communicates 'home-made' - only read this if you like your cousins home-made pumpkin pie.- Format the interior. Cost: $500 to ??? We have built relationship with a local graphic designer that we are happy with. Check out Fiverr.com also for this. Again, don't skimp on quality - make it easy for people to read.- Format e-book. Cost: $150-200. Check with the same person who formats your book whether they can also do the ebook conversion. Otherwise check fiverr.com or other professional services - Ingram Spark.- Record audiobook. Cost: FREE. I setup my bedroom as a make-shift sound studio. This looked like closing the curtains, sitting under the duvet and surrounding myself with pillows - all to dampen the sound. I then used my Rode lavalier microphone (thanks Andrew Montesi) that plugs into my iphone 7 Plus and used Voice Record Pro app (free - thanks Cliff Ravenscraft). - Format audiobook. Cost: $500-1,000 sound engineer. I used Ryan Opfer of Recorded Word for this.3. Next stepsWe are waiting on our foreword from Kris Vallotton due this month then we will put together a lauch team (marketing/reviewing/spreading the word) then LAUNCH March 29. If YOU are interested in being part of our launch team (we give you free audiobook and you purchase e-version for $0.99 plus take the time to read and post a honest review) then contact us through team @ AndyandJanine.com with LAUNCH TEAM in the subject line.4. What am I learning?Marketing. Marketing. Marketing. I used to think that getting the book published was the largest part of the job. NOT SO! I'm learning that I could have the best product/service/message on the planet but if I don't do my UTMOST to let people know about it, I am not stewarding well. I MUST MARKET. For me that looks like investing in the marketing component of the Self Publishing Course and applying what I am learning. If I had a bigger budget I would employ someone to help. Maybe that will be the next book?Brought to you by Gulf Coast Recreation, your playground expert.
Mourning a “celebrity” does not = lack of “consciousness.”And sometimes, the death of someone we feel like we knew, but we never actually touched, triggers pain about the death of people we knew well.We are on a brief pilgrimage here, reconciling life and death.Love well. - Bernice KingThese words came from a tweet by Bernice King, the daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I haven’t had many words to describe how I’ve felt since I heard about the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter and the other families they were traveling with but then I read her tweet and it really started to get at some of the thoughts and feelings I had. My heart goes out to those families directly affected and impacted by this tragedy. My heart also goes out to those grieving their personal loss and to whom this may be a reminder. In full transparency, Death has been close to me in the last few years. I’ve lost more loved ones than I care to. I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t impacted me. It isn’t lost on me the finality of death and the hurt, sorrow, and pain of those who of us who are left here to mourn. But I do want to encourage you to consider the words of Bernice King, that we are on a “brief pilgrimage here” and if we are still here that we have an opportunity to Love Well. The pain, sadness, hurt, struggle, the failure you may be feeling and experiencing is evidence of Life. In this weeks episode, the final before our recap, we had the pleasure of taking a personal tour of the Rosson House at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix. Heritage Square is home to renown restaurants such as Pizzeria Bianco and Nobuo at Teeter House, right next door to the Arizona Science Center. When you think of Phoenix often images of cowboys, cacti and rattlesnakes come to mind. Rarely would one associate the Victorian Era with Phoenix, a trip through the Rosson House will change that belief. Many of us natives have seen the fancy house on the corner on the way to the science center. Katie Delahoyde - Museum Interpreter and Jennifer Hance - Director of Education provide the history and give life to this old fancy house. It's a big house with bigger character, noises and even ghosts? You’ll have to listen and visit to find out whether it has supernatural inhabitants. Enjoy this episode and guided tour through the Rosson House museum and be sure to stop in to experience for yourself. Also if you’re looking for a night out be sure to check out their event page. ‘Victorian Secrets’ is much more than a night at the museum and worth of a date night or girls night out. Enjoy. Special Guests: Jennifer Hance and Katie Delahoyde.
“Go Ahead, touch it” I know this is an awkward title for a podcast, but it is not every day an artist suggests you touch his paintings. At most art exhibits you’d admire the beauty of the work with your eyes. Hugo’s exhibit also appeals to our other senses. Rob had the opportunity to interview valley artist Hugo Medina following his recent art exhibit at the Arizona Capital Museum. Hugo’s work can be seen throughout the Valley including several murals in downtown Phoenix. One of these murals a tribute to Wallace and Ladmo. Wallace and Ladmo were staples of the children’s television scene in Phoenix for decades. Ladmo bag anyone? Medina uses many different mediums in his paintings, including metal shavings. He discusses how he pre-treats his canvases before he paints them. This is why Hugo encourages you to “touch” his paintings and feel the depth and texture in them. Listen along as Hugo discusses his life and work and is perspective on art, and art in the Phoenix area! Thank you Hugo Medina for your contributions to the art world and to this podcast! Special Guest: Hugo Medina.

In part 1 (0-17:00), The guys quickly recap their conversation so far. Tim then dives into a third perspective on the Hebrew laws in the Old Testament. The third perspective is that the laws embody and revolutionize ancient Eastern conceptions of justice. The laws are formulated in the language and categories of ancient Near Eastern law, so that Israel’s law was comprehensible to their neighbors while also representing an irreversible cultural revolution. Tim notes that in all the other ancient covenant documents (Hittite, Assyrian) only one is between a king and a people, while dozens of others are between one king and another king. Covenants are agreements between kings. But the Biblical story depicts the laws as stipulations between God and all the Israelites: “I will be their God and they will be my people.” This is the same kind of language we find in the Song of Solomon, “I am my beloved’s and he is mine” (Song of Solomon 6:3). This is marriage covenant language. Tim uses some quotes from Joshua Berman to make his points. “In the ancient near east, various gods had consorts and goddess wives, while the common man was subject, a slave and servant of the king and the tribute-imposing class. For these cultures to conceive of the marriage between a god and a group of humans, would have been as unthinkable as for us to imagine the marital union of a human and a cat… The Bible’s most revolutionary idea… is the idea of God as a personality who seeks a relationship of mutuality with human agents. In the neighboring cultures of the ancient Near East, humans were merely slaves of the king. In the Bible, they are transformed into a servant king who is married to a generous sovereign, a wife in relation to her benefactor husband. When God seeks “love” from Israel, it involves both the political sense of loyalty between parties to a treaty as well as the kind of intimacy known in a faithful, intimate relationship between a man and woman.” (Berman, Created Equal, 46) This concept of a human family married to God is founded on the concept of humanity in Genesis 1-2. All humanity, male and female, is the divine royal image over all creation. And while the Davidic king could be called the “son of God,” it was only as the representative of all Israel who is the “son of God” (Exodus 4:22). The king and all the Israelites are themselves equals under their “divine king” Yahweh. Tim again cites Joshua Berman: “While in Egypt and Mesopotamia, the bridge figure between the divine and human was the king, deified (as in Egypt) or more of a demi-god (Mesopotamia). He was the top of the socio-religious structure with the economic elite, and this was mirrored by the hierarchy of the gods. NOT SO in biblical Israel. God’s covenant was with the entirety of Israel, focused on the “common man.” I maintain that it is in the covenant, properly conceived in in ancient Near Eastern setting, that we may discern a radically new understanding of the cosmic role of the common man within the thought systems of the ancient Near East, one that constituted the basis of an egalitarian order.” (Berman, Created Equal, 29) In part 2 (17:00-25:15), Tim explains why Israel’s law codes consistently downgrades the role of the king in contrast to their neighbors. The king is not the sole, chief, divine authority; rather, Yahweh is king, and the human king is subservient to the Scriptures (Deuteronomy 17) and to prophets who speak on Yahweh’s behalf. He is a leader in war, but he is not the chief. He can participate in the temple, but he is not the high priest. He is subservient to the law, but he is not the lawgiver. This is all in contrast to Egypt and Babylon. Tim also explains that the laws allowed Israel’s economy to be oriented toward landed families, which were called to include the immigrant, poor, and orphans. It is the first ancient example of “welfare society.” You can see examples of laws about not maximizing profit to allow work in the fields in Ruth chapters 2-3. Other examples include laws about the seven year debt release, Jubilee land and debt release, not charging interest on loans for the poor, giving a tithe for local loans for failing farmers. Tim again cites Berman: “The biblical laws about land and assets introduce a reformation of the ancient worldview aimed at achieving a social equality, but of a very specific king. It is not the egalitarianism developed since the French Revolution with its emphasis on the individual and inalienable human rights… Rather, it takes the form of an economic system that seeks equality by granting sacred value to the extended family household, where people assist one another in farming labor and in granting relief to other households in need. Ancient Israel was a tribal association of free farmers and ranchers, living in a single and equal social class with common ownership of the means of production. This system was a rejection of statism (= the nations state owns all land) and feudalism (= military lords own all land), demonstrated by the fact that it was free of tribute to any human king, and their tribute was a shared burden of funding the temple. Israel defined itself in opposition to the empire of oppression embodied by Egyptian slavery, and also in opposition to the centralized monarchies that surrounded and took up residence in Israel.” (Berman, Created Equal, 87) Tim points out that a scholar named David Bentley Hart has influenced his thinking on this subject. Tim says that the Judeo-Christian heritage is the most beautiful thing about Western civilization. In part 3 (25:15-30:00), Tim teaches through a specific law that is usually very disturbing to modern readers. Deuteronomy 21:10-14 10 When you go to war against your enemies and the Lord your God delivers them into your hands and you take captives, 11 if you notice among the captives a beautiful woman and are attracted to her, you may take her as your wife. 12 Bring her into your home and have her shave her head, trim her nails 13 and put aside the clothes she was wearing when captured. After she has lived in your house and mourned her father and mother for a full month, then you may go to her and be her husband and she shall be your wife. 14 If you are not pleased with her, let her go wherever she wishes. You must not sell her or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her. Tim points out that this law does not promote the practice it seems to promote. Instead, it creates boundaries for a common cultural practice, which are eventually designed to obliterate the practice all together. This law is in reaction to other ancient cultures that didn’t have any rules or give any thought to how soldiers should treat their captives. In part 4 (30:00-43:10), Tim brings up an important point to keep in mind when reading biblical law: The laws play an important but ultimately subordinate role in the plot of the larger biblical storyline that leads to Jesus. Humanity’s failure to obey the divine command is part of the plot conflict that prevents them from being God’s image-partners in ruling creation. The laws illustrate the divine ideal while also intensifying that conflict, creating the need for a new human and a new covenant. Tim notes that the first divine command is in the garden of Eden: Genesis 2:16-17 16 The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree of knowing good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” Tim says the failure to “listen to the voice of God” (breaking the divine command) results in exile from the Eden-mountain, leading to death. Genesis 3:17, 24 17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; 24 So He banished the human; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life. In part 5, (43:10-end) Tim notes that this theme of listening or not listening to the divine command continues through the Bible. Exodus 19:4-6 4 ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. 5 ‘Now then, if you will listen listen to My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6 and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.” Tim notes that the story immediately after this story is the story of the golden calf, which shows Israel’s obvious failure to listen. Tim points out that Israel’s covenant choice is the same as Adam and Eve and all humanity. Deuteronomy 30:15-20 15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil; 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may have life and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. 17 “But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. 19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by loving the Lord your God, by listening to His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” Tim notes that Israel’s inability to “listen to the voice” of God, leading to death and exile, traps humanity in the power of death, which necessitates the messianic age and the new covenant. Jeremiah 31:31-34 31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 “They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Ezekiel 36:26-28 26 “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. 28 “You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God. Tim concludes by sharing that the law isn't about an "Old Covenant or New Covenant" question. Instead, the law illuminates and explores the portrait of humanity repeatedly failing to listen to the divine voice. Show Produced by: Dan Gummel, Jon Collins. In this episode of the Not So Native Podcast we sit down with Emmy winner (yes that Emmy) and Arizona native Ryan Whitten who is the owner, founder, and head brewer of 8-Bit Aleworks. Ryan along with his wife Krystina opened 8-Bit in May of 2015 in Avondale, Arizona. 8-Bit is not just another hipster craft brewery complete with beard oil and handlebar mustaches (side note: if either one of us could grow facial hair worthy of beard oil we would gladly partake) rather it comes from a time before Playstation and Xbox, a simpler time with fewer buttons. The 8-Bit name is inspired by the classic Nintendo Entertainment System games like Super Mario Brothers and the like. The decor throughout the tasting room and even the tap handles are all inspired by these classic video games. Each table in the tasting room is complete with its own game system you can enjoy while you sit back and partake in some of their fine and unique brews. Our conversation with Ryan touches on what led him and his wife to create 8-Bit, what makes them and their beers unique, and why they’ve become beloved by the locals. Enjoy! Special Guest: Ryan Whitten.

THIS PRESENTATION IS TAKEN FROM EZEKIEL CHAPTER NUMBER 37 TITLED THE VALLEY OF DRY BONES. GOD IS AMAZING ---- GOD USES THE WEAK THINGS OF THE WORLD TO CONFOUND THE THINGS OF THE MIGHTY. EXAMPLE: ROMANS 14:1 HIM THAT IS WEAK IN THE FAITH RECEIVE YE HIM, BUT NOT TO DOUBTFUL DISPUTATIONS--- EXAMPLE: JEREMIAH 31:9 THEY SHALL COME WITH WEEPING, AND WITH SUPPLICATIONS WILL LEAD THEM: I WILL CAUSE THEM TO WALK BY THE RIVERS IN A STRAIGHT WAY, WHEREIN THEY SHALL NOT STUMBLE: FOR GOD IS A FATHER TO ISRAEL, AND EPHRAIM IS MY FIRSTBORN. GEN 48:17 AND WHEN JOSEPH SAW THAT HIS FATHER LAID HIS RIGHT HAND UPON THE HEAD OF EPHRAIM IT DISPLEASED HIM: AND HE HELD UP HIS FATHER'S HAND TO REMOVE IT FROM EPHRAIM'S HEAD UNTO MANASSEH'S HEAD. 18 AND JOSEPH SAID UNTO HIS FATHER, NOT SO, MY FATHER: FOR THIS IS THE FIRSTBORN; PUT THY RIGHT HAND UPON HIS HEAD. 19 AND HIS FATHER REFUSED, AND SAID, I KNOW IT MY SON. HE SHALL BECOME A PEOPLE, AND HE ALSO SHALL BE GREAT: BUT TRULY HIS YOUNGER BROTHER SHALL BE GREATER THAN HE. AND HIS SEED SHALL BECOME A MULTITUDE OF NATIONS.20 AND HE BLESSED THEM THAT DAY, SAYING, IN THEE SHALL ISRAEL BLESS, SAYING, GOD MAKE THEE AS EPHRAIM AND AS MANASSEH: AND HE SET EPHRAIM BEFORE MANASSEH. 21 AND ISRAEL SAID UNTO JOSEPH, BEHOLD, I DIE: BUT GOD SHALL BE WITH YOU, AND BRING YOU AGAIN UNTO THE LAND OF YOUR FATHERS. 22. MOREOVER I HAVE GIVEN TO THEE ONE PORTION ABOVE THY BRETHREN, WHICH I TOOK OUT OF THE HAND OF THE AMORITE WITH MY SWORD AND WITH MY BOW.
Episode #66- Disney Dream Jobs & Not So dream jobs.... This week we are talking about our Disney dream jobs as well as not so dream jobs at the Disney parks. This week Kate shares a recipe for... Three friends talking anything & everything Disney but mostly on the adult side of things.
It's a NOT SO simple twist of fate this week as Kelly and Katai beat the heat in Katai's apartment and wind their way through W.W. Jacob's supernatural classic "The Monkey's Paw," about a live-at-home adult son with no shortage of hilarious jokes, his wishful parents, and the cursed artifact that changes their lives FOREVER! Also can you be SO obnoxious that you DESERVE to die horribly? And if your son looks like a chicken pot pie, is he STILL your son? These question and more will be answered on today's episode of Public Domain Theater.Follow Public Domain Theater on Instagram and Twitterhttp://twitter.com/publicdomainpodhttp://instagram.com/publicdomainpodPublic Domain Theater is a Forever Dog Podcasthttp://foreverdogproductions.com/fdpn/podcasts/public-domain-theater/
We are a culture of Yo-Yo Dieters. So many of us try to stick to diets, only to find ourselves bingeing, then restricting even more, then bingeing again, then restricting more, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Our eating is all over the place, our weight is all over the place, our sanity is all over the place, and we feel totally out of control with food. So why does that happen? Why do so many of us seem to have such terrible will-power when it comes to what we put in our mouths? It comes down to a very fundamental biological mechanism: Your body does not want you to restrict food. At all. In fact, when you restrict even just a small amount, your body responds with more fixation on food, irritability, higher stress hormones, slower metabolism and digestion, less energy, holding onto more weight... and bingeing. That binge is your body is purposely forcing you off your diet. But because we still assume that our diet is the best thing for us, we turn around and try to restrict even harder, and then we fail even harder. That's the Yo Yo. Here is the thing people never really realize: chronic yo-yo dieting is disordered. And since eating disorders are a spectrum, the yo-yo diet is on the that spectrum. No it's not necessarily anorexia or bulimia. (Though since yo-yos often include bingeing, there are yo-yo dieters who think they have Binge Eating Disorder. But what the bingeing really is, is a biological response to physical restriction). Instead of letting ourselves eat, re-feed, and heal, we keep dieting harder, and that continued mental fixation on food and weight loss is where we perpetuate the disordered eating. This means that there are wayyyyyyyy more eating disorders and disordered eaters than we think there are. And they go undiagnosed because we've been taught how normal it is to obsess over food and "losing a few". We think it is normal to live in a chronic binge/repent cycle for the rest of our lives, blaming ourselves endlessly for our lack of willpower, and having the topic dominate our conversations with other women. "Well I gained weight", "Oh me too", "No you look tiny!", "Oh! Well thanks." "I would do anything to not be obsessed with crackers." "Tomorrow I'm gonna be good". And on and on. What is important to remember is that this cultural obsession with a tiny body is relatively new, and our cultural relationship to food is also new. Never did we treat food with such judgment and obsession. Never before did we try to abstain from arbitrary foods based on ever changing fads. Never before did we pray to be able to walk away from the table hungry. Never before would this kind of feeding and eating have made any sense. And even though this way of eating is now extremely common, it is still disordered. And our bodies are not having it. We also believe that the only way to have an eating disorder is to be emaciated. NOT SO. You can be thin, middle ground, or very fat, and be suffering from a restrictive eating disorder. The difference here, is that the disorder will be praised. I really, really hope that in the coming years we can start to have a different dialogue about health and food that is not so black and white. I hope we can move into a place that's a lot more supportive of different body types, understanding weight science even more, and that a nourishing and intuitive version of eating can replace this restrictive madness. (If you are suffering from an eating disorder, please seek treatment. The Fuck It Diet is geared towards yo-yo and chronic dieters, not extremely restrictive eating disorders. TFID will never stand in place of treatment, this is simply a supplement and not specifically geared towards anorexia. Check out The Eating Disorder Institute which is more geared towards EDs.)

I love God because he's always using other people to encourage me and comfort me and tell me that everything is going to be ok. I will be honest with you guys, I'm not perfect and I have my moments when I'm going through and I say to myself is God really here. I know at times we all have to honest ask that question, especially when things are just turned upside down and inside out. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's felt like that. Last week I ran into an old colleague of mines and I told her that I've been through some things, and she just looked at me and said, the Devil peeked into my future and knew something special and wonderful was there. Somewhere in my future, God was going to use me, and Satan knew that. I looked at her and said you just read a sentence from my book, and you haven't even read it yet. Then something else happened. I'm taking a class, and the one-night last week a classmate said had something special to share with all of us. She mentioned that she heard a radio show talk about the story of Joseph. She mentioned that the main theme was about what Joseph said to his brother "You intended it for hard, but God intended it for good." We're all in that class that we've all made mistakes in the past, but God allowed us to make it there. Out of 40 people that interviewed for the class, 11 of us make it and we're working hard. That's God. The Devil meant our pass to keep us down, but God said NOT SO!!!!! Join me Hezekiah L. Maybe you’re not so special. I get it.
