Hier kun je het artikel lezen bij de Leeuwarder Courant. ­ Donderdagmiddag werd ook legale hasj geïntroduceerd bij de coffeeshop aan het Zuiderdiep. „Dit was hard nodig,” zegt Claas van Os, oprichter van Q-Farms, het bedrijf dat legaal wiet mag kweken in Veendam. „Niet alleen om de criminaliteit buiten te houden, maar ook voor de gezondheid. Alle producten worden nu getest. Je weet eindelijk zeker wat je binnenkrijgt.” ­ Rens heeft veel kennis over het kweken van cannabis en werkt daarom voor Q-Farms. Hij hoopt dat het beeld rond wiet omdraait. „Er is nog nooit iets positiefs in de krant verschenen over cannabis,” zegt hij. „Het ging altijd over misdaad. Maar dat verandert nu. Net zoals je naar een wijnhuis gaat voor een goed glas wijn, kun je straks naar een coffeeshop voor een mooie soort wiet.” ­ „Ik werk al elf jaar in de cannabis”, vertelt Rens. „De mensen met wie ik werk, dat zijn allemaal liefhebbers. Die hebben nooit legaal mogen werken, maar het zijn geen criminelen. Ze zijn gewoon goed in wat ze doen.” De coffeeshop hadden eerst niet vele vertrouwen in de legale cannabis. Nu zijn ze blij met de wietproef. Ze zijn niet meer afhankelijk van louche handelaren aan de achterdeur. ­ Tijdens de introductie in De Medley wordt onder meer de zogeheten rosin gepresenteerd: een transparante, geperste hasj die geproduceerd wordt zonder tabak of synthetische toevoegingen.
