On Thursday, May 25th we had the privilege of gathering and celebrating HSD's ninety-two Class of 2023 Valedictorians and Salutatorians at a luncheon event at Hidden Creek Community Center. Superintendent Mike Scott, Mayor Steve Callaway, Chamber President Deanna Palm, Hillsboro Schools Foundation Executive Director Aron Carleson, and School Board Chair Mark Watson were all on hand to congratulate our highest achievers and wish them well on their journey beyond high school. Students' plans include attending colleges and universities in Oregon, across the U.S., and even abroad. Regardless of their next steps, they have all learned some valuable lessons along the way and took a moment to share their words of wisdom for incoming 9th graders. Check them out on our website. Way to go, Vals & Sals! You make us Proud to be HSD! Our bond update is a recap of the CTE Sustainability Facilities open house at Liberty High School on Thursday, May 25th. The community had an opportunity to tour the school's sustainable agriculture/design building and solar array canopy, constructed via the 2017 Hillsboro School District Bond, and view the seniors' project presentations. "If you look at studies on people who are faced with their mortality, people with chronic disease who have a year to live, people on the death bed… Nobody says I wish I worked more or I made more money. Everybody says I wish I spent more time with my kids, I wish I had kids, or I wish stayed with that partner, I wish I was more with my family and friends." - Sal Di Stefano Same Problems, New Environment "These problems that we have today are actually not new problems. It's a new environment… The reason why people are unhappy now is although we have more, they can see the next guy that has more than they do, as they compare themselves. A painfully skinny teenager, he felt insecure about his physique and his lack of muscle and strength. Fitness was a way for him to apply hard work and effort towards changing and re-inventing himself. A natural intellect, Sal devoured every fitness, physiology and nutrition publication he could get his hands on. His appetite for knowledge is voracious and he used his passion for learning to maximize his own body's potential. 4 years later Sal walked into his local 24 Hour Fitness gym and applied to be a personal trainer. He quickly became a top performer and, at the age of 19 was promoted to the position of general manager with as many as 40 employees working under him. During this period of time, Sal learned to master skills of sales, marketing, and communication and his gyms broke records in sales and production. At the age of 22, Sal became an entrepreneur. He opened a wellness and personal trainer facility that offered one on one training, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, hormone testing, and acupuncture. At the age of 28 Sals health took a bad turn. Sal's Wellness Journey The years of training his own personal body with excessive amounts of intensity in the pursuit of more muscle combined with the abuse of supplements caused his body to rebel. He lost 15 lbs of muscle and at one point believed he may have an autoimmune disorder. This forced Sal to change his personal approach to fitness. He made health a priority and he visited his insecurities that caused him to abuse his body. It took him a full year of study and learning to transform yet again. Sal learned about gut health, hormone health and how to prioritize health over appearance. He healed his body and changed how he communicates fitness and health and was re-invigorated with a new sense of purpose. Although this was a challenging time for him, it is literally what formed his view on health and how he communicates it to this day. MAPS Programming At 33 years old Sal met Doug Egge who became his client. They formed a close friendship and together they created the first Maps program. Sal was the designer of the workout plan and Doug created the marketing material behind it. Their goal was to shatter the failed muscle-building workout ideas that Sal had personally witnessed as entirely ineffective. They knew that MAPS programming would be vastly superior. Their challenge was how to bring this to the masses. 2 years later Sal met Adam and Justin and together with Doug they started Mind Pump. The goal with Mind Pump was simple... Bring quality fitness and health information to the masses with integrity and honesty. Sal wanted to shift the direction of the fitness industry from an aesthetic insecurity-based industry to a self-love and self-care health industry. He knew this could be accomplished with education through entertainment.

In this episode of Enterprise Sales Development podcast, we speak with Brooke Bachesta, XDR Enablement Manager at Outreach and Chair of the Gals and SALs group. Brooke talks about her enablement role and what that means at Outreach. She discusses some of the initiatives they use to grow the team and the professional development they offer. She also talks about remote working and her interactions with the SDR team leaders and team managers that ensures the best for the team. She shares why she co-founded Gals and SALs, a group that provides women on the SDR team a place to get together, support each other, foster career growth and celebrate success. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN What is the XDR Enablement Manager and what it's like at Outreach Some of the initiatives for growing the team and what she's learned scaling that large of an organization How she measures and knows when the team is successful; what KPIs she looks at to define enterprise upmarket success; how she prioritizes the metrics and goals The mentality of going wide, who she likes to target more and what she's looking for and how being meta - SDRs using Outreach every day - plays into this The kind of professional development programs do they have for SDRs to get them to the expertise level How she interacts with SDR team leaders and team managers to ensure the best for the team and the biggest thing she's learned from her enablement role How the remote work is going, what does that look like from an enablement perspective and how hiring remotely allows her to harvest better talent Why she co-founded Gals and SALs QUOTES “Of course, you need to start with the end in mind and just like we want our ASP to be at this level. For easy math, we want it to be 100. We're currently at 15. Let's just get ourselves to 100. There needs to be incremental steps in process in order to do that.” -Brooke Bachesta [05:25] “That's part of why I love working here so much, because you're just forced to level up your knowledge of the industry.” -Brooke Bachesta [11:22] “I'm really starting to understand what it means to make strategic decisions and to plan in advance.” -Brooke Bachesta [20:20] “Thinking about how can we make sure that when we're training folks, it is not wholly dependent on a person. Like if I'm on vacation or I get sick or hit by a bus, the whole program doesn't die and people are still supportive and can find what they need to without having to Slack at here the channel, ‘Where is the script on so-and-so?'” -Brooke Bachesta [24:53] “Second Friday of every month, the office is closed as a way to force people to take a mental break, because now more than ever the lines are blurred between work and your personal life.” -Brooke Bachesta [27:23] TIMESTAMPS [00:01] Intro [01:05] What it means to be the XDR Enablement Manager at Outreach [05:01] Maturing modeling, measuring success and prioritizing goals [10:59] Being meta [14:39] Professional development programs for SDRs [17:37] Interact with team leaders and managers [21:38] Experimentation and automation [25:14] Going remote [31:48] Gals and SALs [37:13] Brooke's pitch on Outreach RESOURCES Selling Above and Below the Line: Convince the C-Suite. ¡Oiga, mire, vea! The first episode of our fall football coverage. Have the Sals discovered the forward pass? How did Smyrna fare against the nations 8th-ranked team? Is Sussex Central primed for another title run? Which team held the other to just 16 total yards from scrimmage? We have top team and player performance honors and two new segments: Sunday Shoutout to a charity and Marty's Must See NCAA Football Game of the Week. We'll also talk some University of Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens football AND look ahead to Week 1 of the #DelHS season.
This week we review the episode of ECW from March 1st 1994, and it's a doozie. A six man tag that overstays its welcome...a Jason promo that does the same, and much more are discussed. Enjoy!!
Mr Sal Frisella, dad, husband and President at 1st Phorm a 9 figure, yes that a lot of zeros sports fitness and nutrition company. Sals not about the title, he believes in leading by example, picks up the trash, packs boxes with the team and does whatever he has to do to keep the Legion of Boom booming. Sal talks about how there are no shortcuts in life, How if you want to succeed then you got to be willing to take risks, get out there and do the hard stuff and live life for the experience, not the result.
Our zoom catch up call turned into a podcast over the last week, so we made this our SECOND Episode and continued the trend of chatting about relevant football topics including: Ballon DOr 2020, Youth Scouting of the Week, 5 A side of the week and How Sal adapted without football in Lockdown!
