Do you believe in God? Contemplating your relationship to spirit can feel supercharged with triggering emotions, especially if we've had negative or uninspiring interactions with religion in the past. In this episode, K + L reflect on their spiritual evolution and relationship with God. From traditional rituals of childhood conditioning to the framework they feel aligned with today. They discuss how they navigated resistance around what it means to believe in God, and how the process of unlearning conventions has helped them cultivate a connection with God that feels unconditional, authentic, and life-affirming. We also talk about: Individual journeys with religion Coming back to a relationship with God Spectrums of religion Judgements in religion and consequences How to make spirituality your own Sponsors: Athletic Greens | Get a 1-year supply of Vitamin D + five FREE travel packs with your first purchase at http://www.athleticgreens.com/almost30 (athleticgreens.com/almost30) Bev | Get 20% off your first purchase + free shipping at https://drinkbev.com/pages/almost30?utm_campaign=almost_30_november_2021&utm_medium=podcast&utm_source=almost_30 (drinkbev.com/almost30) or use code “ALMOST30” at checkout Elavi | Get 15% off when you use the code ALMOST30 + free shipping on 2 pouches or more at https://www.elavi.co/ (elavi.co ) Open | Get 30 days free with the code ALMOST30 at https://o-p-e-n.com/community?code=ALMOST30&utm_soure=manual&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=ALMOST30 (open-together.com/almost30) Daily Harvest | Use code ALMOST30 to get up to $40 off your first box athttp://www.daily-harvest.com/almost30 ( www.daily-harvest.com/almost30) Resources: https://www.samharris.org/books/waking-up (“Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion”) by Sam Harris https://www.amazon.com/Untethered-Soul-Journey-Beyond-Yourself/dp/1572245379 ( “The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself” )by Michael A. On the morning after Christmas in 2013, Aly Orady decided to change his life. Prior to this #hurdlemoment, the then-child prodigy had graduated high school at 15 and college at 19, then worked at a series of tech companies including Hewlett-Packard and computer startup Pano Logic where physical fitness was the last thing on his priority list. In today's episode, he details this turning point which lead him to losing 70 pounds and creating TONAL. Of course, we get into all of the Tonal specifics today: what it is, how it has evolved, and how it works. But what I find so inspiring about this conversation is learning about Aly as a leader and the hard work that went into building this company from the ground up, Including relentless self-belief and loads of lessons along the way. We also talk about what's to come for the company in the future. Let me just say: The day before Aly and I sat down to record this IRL in the studio, I stopped into their new showroom on Fifth Avenue in New York, and I was blown away. Financial ruin, divorce, and the death of a child drove Danette May away from a life that wasn't her own. Once she began stepping into her true calling to serve Mother Earth and humanity, abundance flowed in all its forms. She's here today to show you how you can do it too. You don't have to empty your bank account to unlock abundance. Danette's juiciest spiritual takeaways come from connecting to herself (soul writing, gratitude lists), nature (eating one green thing from Mother Earth every day), and cultivating conscious relationships at work and home (weekly meditations, intimacy dates, and so much more)! Lastly, Danette opens up about her deep-rooted reverence for cacao, its powerful heart-opening ingredients, and the intention behind her food brand, Earth Echo Foods. She inspires everyone to live out, eat, pray, love beyond the pages of a book, and harness the passion and power that's burning inside us all. We also talk about: Reaching rock bottom and growing into the woman she is today The spiritual energetics behind building a successful business Rewriting her money story Life strategies that support purpose and relationships Consistently showing up in partnership The premise of Embracing Abundance and inspiration behind Earth Echo Foods The transformational health and spiritual benefits of cacao Sponsors: Flo Living | Use code “ALMOST30” for 15% off all products and programs at https://www.floliving.com/ (floliving.com) Daily Harvest | Use code “ALMOST30” to get $25 off your first box athttp://www.daily-harvest.com/ ( www.daily-harvest.com) LMNT: Claim a free LMNT Sample Pack (you just need to cover the cost of shipping) by visiting http://drinklmnt.com/Almost30 (DrinkLMNT.com/Almost30) Joybird | Visit https://joybird.com/podcast/?utm_source=adresultsmedia&utm_medium=podcast&utm_term=acq_retail&utm_content=almost30&utm_campaign=podcast_arm_2021_almost30 (joybird.com/almost30) for 30% off your purchase Resources: Read: https://danettemay.com/embraceabundancebook/ (Embrace Abundance: A Proven Path to Better Health, More Wealth, and Deeply Fulfilling Relationships) Website: https://danettemay.com/embraceabundancebook/ (danettemay.com) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedanettemay/ (@thedanettemay) Join: Podcast Accelerator Program - Join our FREE, one-week immersive program to learn how to grow and monetize your podcast. THE INTERVIEW Alignment is the goal - in mind, body and spirit. Being in alignment affects not only our physical body but our emotions, our mental state, our relationships — truly everything. There’s never been a better time to get into alignment, and Aaron Alexander, manual therapist and movement coach and creator of The Align Method, is here to help us work through a more holistic lifestyle. We also talk about: The Ram Dass documentary on Netflix Taking time to be more introspective and determining your impact Operating in the world in a way that’s open to give and receive Making connections with people How to be more aligned when you’re stuck at home The consequences of a lack of facial communication Calming your nervous system The phone biomechanisms The benefits of breathing through the nose The ideal work from home setup The hardest parts of the last few months Find more to love at almost30.com! THE INTERVIEW Nadine Artemis knows there’s a better, more natural path to overall wellness than the standards our society has shown us. She’s helping us break through old standards of health and caring for our bodies that aren’t working and making way for more natural, effective solutions. She’s the founder of Living Libations, a hugely popular organic beauty product company. Everything they offer is totally natural, and they have an impressive range of products. Nadine wrote "Holistic Dental Care" in 2013 and she goes into the effects everything we put into our mouth have on the microbiome of the mouth and our system. If we can get our oral and dental care natural, we are on our way. She also talks about being in the sun and how important that is to our health as a natural way to heal us and improve our mood and immunity. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, and in her new book, “Renegade Beauty,” she breaks down everything you need to know about clean beauty. Can she be our second mom? We also talk about: The importance of sun exposure + skin care Our spiritual connection to the sun What we can do to drink clean water Getting off birth control naturally The yoni microbiome The case for going braless Ingredients to look out for in natural deodorant The truths about dental hygiene The evolution of the beauty industry Find more to love at almost30.com! THE INTERVIEW Chinae Alexander is the kind of person you just want to be friends with. She’s vulnerable about the process of improving herself and figuring shit out, but she owns who she is with confidence. By showing the imperfect side of herself, it allows the people who follow her to see that they, too, can do the work AND be confident. Now, that’s an inspiring thing we don’t often see in the sometimes too-perfect-to-be-real world of Instagram influencers. She believes in showing up as the taste menu of yourself instead of the full ten-course meal — giving people enough of the real you to satisfy them and keep them full. In this thoughtful conversation, she dives into showing up as yourself online, finding a therapist who doesn’t freak you out, processing your emotions out loud, and handling anxiety in whatever way you can. We also talk about: Stepping in as a leader Navigating the last few months Processing emotions in public Fully existing as yourself online Dealing with anxiety How coronavirus has given us more gratitude Find more to love at almost30.com! They’ve mostly maintained a long-distance relationship, but for the past three months, they've been living together in LA. Just before Sean went home, they recorded this conversation in hopes that their growing pains, learnings, laughs, and promises within the relationship would inspire you to have deep conversations within your own — be it romantic or platonic. The best part of our 30’s has been learning to accept + love our bodies more. And the best part? You don’t have to wait until your 30s to do this work!! CATCH UP WITH K + L K + L kick off today with holiday reflection time! The ladies ended their tour in Miami, which turned into a little vacay with some friends, family, and their significant others. Tune in to hear about their clubbin’, beachin’, and shroomin’ adventures! For Christmas, L journeyed into the desert with her family, then spent some dreamy time in New York with her boyfriend. K went the atypical route of spending less time with her family this holiday season. She shares how she spent this much needed decompression and alone time, and her total ‘life edit’ that took place. THE INTERVIEW Today we are digging into the male perspective on upleveling with Heath Ellis! As a Soul Coach for Men, Heath helps men shift the trajectory of their lives and come into alignment with their purpose—what he calls “the path of the conscious man.” Krista’s fiancé, Justin, had a very impactful coaching session with Heath, and is joining in on the conversation. Heath shares how he was not always on this path of self-knowing, and completely changed the direction of his life in his late 20s. Although successful, he was miserable in his job, and decided to change the course of his life after a meditation retreat and his Akashic Records reading (aka your soul’s record). In our conversation, we talk greatly about the differences in the masculine and feminine approaches to healing. Heath explores holding vs. creating space, patterns of limiting beliefs, and steps to helping men be more sovereign. He explains his structure for checking in with your partner on how each of you is doing, and Krista and Justin share how they implement this practice. We wrap up the conversation with insightful books, and Heath reveals the key to a successful self-care ritual. Heath is offering 30% off single coaching sessions using the code ALMOST30 at consciousman.com/impact-sessions. We also talk about: Why Heath left his software company How Heath began shifting problems and pain points What are Akashic Records? CATCH UP WITH K + L Today K + L begin by spotlighting Joe Rogan’s interview with Edward Snowden. They discuss the increase in censorship and shift in power after 9/11, then pivot to chatting about Joe’s ability to be a bada$$ + rad dad at the same time. Get ready for some lol’s as K recounts her story involving a police case, ridiculous clothes for Coachella, and a hit and run! Then L shares her friend’s experience with a medical procedure gone wrong—highlighting the importance of second opinions, asking questions, and being your own advocate in a doctors office. THE INTERVIEW Today we are vibin’ so high with this powerful and impactful episode. It resonates so deeply with us; we can’t wait to share it with you. Our guest, Aaron Rose, is a conscious culture and life design coach, and motivational speaker. We recently started working with him to expand our knowledge on being conscious leaders. Today Aaron joins us to illustrate his journey of growth, and how he began living his truth after growing up in a religious household that limited self-expression. For example, Aaron talks about the family newspaper he started to advocate for himself due to the discord he felt toward their religion’s lack of acceptance. He shares his coming out process, the painful conversations of trying to explain himself to his family, and how his relationship has evolved with them over the years. We then ask what it means to be ‘real’ on Instagram, and love Aaron’s answer about searching for our relatable brilliance versus flaws. We also talk about being triggered—understanding when you’re being triggered, what to do, and the importance of allowing your emotions to flow through you. Aaron shares how dropping into your heart and cleaning up energetic patterns creates change. To wrap up, he shares his favorite books, and we spend some time nerding out on The Lord of the Rings! We also talk about: How being fully present with others can create discomfort Aaron’s early experiences of discrimination How in conflict we still yearn for connection His involvement in social justice projects in high school and later How we are addicted to the lows Aaron’s relationship with God & faith How Aaron’s work has impacted individuals, teams, work cultures Find more to love at almost30podcast.com! Today we are sitting down with skin therapist and co-founder of Dermalogica, Jane Wurwand! At the age of 24, Jane, an immigrant from the United Kingdom, recognized the lack of training in continuing skin therapy education in the United States. Dermalogica was born alongside IDM to provide quality skin care that was effective and free of irritants. It is now the #1 professional skin care brand in the world. Our conversation with Jane is motivating and inspirational, regardless of whether or not you’re a female entrepreneur. Her passion and devotion for changing the conversation around labels and the idea of beauty is so refreshing. Jane also gives recommendations and tips for taking care of your skin. Our relationship with Mother Earth, and the need for even the smallest of actions to protect her, is our focus in today’s podcast with Ayana Young. She is the founder of the nonprofit For The Wild which now encompasses the 1 Million Redwoods reforestation project, For the Wild podcast, and a new spinoff series birthed from a preservation campaign around the Tongass National Forest. Ayana’s journey as an advocate and protector of our Earth began when she was studying Ecology at Columbia University. She eventually dropped out to become a full time political organizer. She intertwined the environmental concerns with the “Occupy Wall Street” movement to bring awareness to the decline of our planet’s health. Ayana’s passion comes through as she illustrates how we are connected to everything; our modern lives are directly related to taking resources from the planet and not reciprocating. She explains the detriments of logging and building dams and howgold mining has created genocide in the west by producing high volumes of waste water. She urges us to invest in our local communities, and to educate ourselves and become more aware of climate change even when it’s overwhelming and heartbreaking. Ayana shares how she recommits herself to the Earth every day, and how each of us can reestablish that connection. This week on the Alchemized Life Podcast, we welcome Celebrity Health Coach and Yoga Instructor, Koya Webb. Although Koya was fascinated with living well since she was a little girl, she didn't realize her passion for wellness until an injury forced her to give up track. At a loss with her identity, she embarked on a path of self-discovery through yoga. Once she transformed her mindset from one of “victim” to “creator”, she healed body, mind and spirit within a year. Today, she has built a wellness empire founded on health, courage, and most importantly, love, entitled Get Loved Up. Looking at her tremendous success, you would never guess that Koya struggled with so much fear, self-doubt and anxiety. Despite her fears and feelings of unworthiness, she had the courage to move forward because her “why” – desire to help others heal and make a difference in the world - was so much stronger. As this fierce goddess eloquently said on the podcast, “You have to get up more times than you've been knocked down.” Rather than submitting to defeat, she encourages you to ask yourself, “If not that, then what?” Repeating this simple mantra will help you step back into a space of love and acceptance, aligning you with your highest purpose because the next best thing is coming your way. In the meantime, Koya urges us to celebrate the yeses! One of Koya's favorite ways to overcome fear, and in turn, anxiety is to practice self-care. Practicing gratitude, taking a bath, enjoying a massage or eating a healthy meal are just some of the ways we can take time to restore on a physical and spiritual level. Because when we take time to love ourselves, we become a conduit for good rather than spreading more fear and negativity throughout the collective consciousness. We talk about: How Koya fell in love with wellness and overcame her fear of failure to build a successful empire in the wellness industry What is fear, and how can we move through it Why is it important to change your mindset from one of victim to creator Simple practices we can all do right now to face our fears, cultivate more love and live in alignment with our higher purpose Resources: WEBSITE | INSTAGRAM Listen to Get Loved Up Podcast HERE Enter to win Koya's new book HERE Stay Up To Date: Follow @TheAlchemizedLife and @AvaJohanna on Instagram Subscribe to Newsletter Visit AvaJohannna.com Sponsors: Rothy's: Head to Rothys.com/alchemized to get your new favorite flats Daily Harvest: Use code "ALCHEMIZED" for three free cups in your first delivery at https://www.dailyharvest.com (DailyHarvest.com) HeyDay Skincare: Use code "HEYAVA10" when booking at any HeyDay location for $10 off your treatment. Daniela Kende, holistic health coach and natural birthing expert, joins us on today’s episode. Daniela runs her coaching programs on the foundation that no one knows your body better than you do– how refreshing is that? She asks her clients to set aside their self-judgements, and give themselves permission to rebel against the rules of the popular “diets” out there. Daniela believes that by strengthening your intuition, you will begin to actually hear what your body needs. Today we are joined by Charity Lighten, the chief nutritionist, CEO + co-founder of Silver Fern. Charity has been on the podcast before to talk all things gut health (Episode 85). For this episode, she wanted to share what she is navigating in real time to hopefully help others who might be dealing with grief, denial, disease, mortality and finding joy in every moment. Her husband is battling stage four colon cancer, and with four children, Charity is navigating with incredible grace. Warning, in this conversation, the three of us get very emotional. Charity talks about her call to be healthy over being skinny, her husband’s health, and how an enriching life takes effort. We are so grateful to Charity for sharing her journey and reminding us that LOVE IS EVERYTHING. We also talk about… Deciding to be a stay-at-home mom How the her family is maintaining “normalcy” Charity’s first time hearing God speak to her What is serving Charity + what’s not How to have hard conversations Creating the life you want Learning that love is everything Find more to love at almost30podcast.com! Happy New Year, family!. I’m sure you can relate–we arrived at the end of this transformative year and hadn’t given ourselves the proper credit for the highs and a moment to honor the learnings in the lows. We decided to structure the episode around a game we play over dinner or to kick off meetings: High, Low + What you learned. Our gratitude for #almost30nation pours out of us shamelessly–WE LOVE YOU AND WE DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT!!! Our hope for you is that you see the light and limitless potential in yourselves that we see in you. Cheers to the continual evolution of you. Thank goodness you are changing from one year to the next. For those that don’t understand that about you, don’t worry. They’ll catch up. Shine your light bright. You’ve probably already heard of Dave Asprey, or at least Bulletproof Coffee and the Bulletproof Diet. It’s pretty much grown from a trend to a phenomenon over the past couple years. Lindsey + Krista, honestly, didn’t quite know what Dave would be like in an interview – but Dave really showed up for this conversation and, as you’ll hear, he is truly passionate about the brand, the mission, and the movement behind Bulletproof. We were also able to ask a lot of your questions in this episode! We love being able to bring all of you into the conversation, before and after the episode. So if you want to talk Bulletproof with #ALMOST30NATION (or provide your own insight and commentary for future episodes), click here to join the secret Facebook group! This episode includes… How Dave made a small fortune by the time he was 26... and then lost it when he was 28 Being the first person to sell a product over the internet The connection between gut health + brain health Importing smart drugs from Europe Dave’s journey building the Bulletproof brand + business You are simultaneously a rational human being + an irrational animal Raising $50M+ in funding for Bulletproof How holotropic breathing (a successor to Stanislav Grof’s LSD-based psychedelic therapy) transformed Dave’s life The biology of belief Why younger people are wiser today than they were 40 years ago What you eat affects how you feel – more than anything else! If you stop doing the things that make you weak, that’s more powerful than doing the things that make you strong Ketones + ketosis The relationship between Bulletproof, ketones, ketosis, and hormones Intermittent fasting for women Why almost every spiritual traditional has an element of fasting The staples of the Bulletproof diet that everyone should be leveraging How inflammatory foods affect you days later What’s up with coffee? You may not know it (at least not yet), but your family story might be the one thing holding you back from success. We can’t change our parents or our family – and we can’t change what’s already happened – but we can change our perception around it. Unresolved traumatic events in your family can hinder how happiness and success flow to us in the present and future. Marine Sélénée is a Family Constellations specialist who is dedicated to bringing peace, love, and respect to families. Krista + Lindsey can attest that Family Constellations will help you break free from any negative painful patterns – and it will be life changing. After hitting rock bottom at the age of 25, Marine started her own healing journey and discovered the power of Family Constellations firsthand. Now she shares that gift with others, helping people finally bring order back to their lives, make peace with what was, and accept what they did receive and did not receive. We talk about… Moving from France to the U.S. Hitting rock bottom at the age of 25 + going through a spiritual awakening Starving to be be seen, to be heard, and to be recognized Everyone has a different perception Why you can’t heal unconscious, underlying problems in your family – you need to unearth them The little boy or girl inside of you who is just waiting to be seen or heard Storing trauma in your body + healing it When a mom or dad might need their kid to take care of them How to discover what affected you subconsciously Why parents need to respect their children enough to tell them the truth, even when it’s hard How you can be impacted by past generations, beyond your mother and father Practicing acceptance + respect Do we choose our parents? This episode has pretty much everything you could want out of a podcast: it’s natural, hilarious, interesting, fun, and with just a little bit of poop. That’s because Krista + Lindsey got to sit down with Suzy Batiz, creator of Poo-Pourri. After her second bankruptcy at 40, Suzy embarked on a spiritual quest and discovered the lost art of tapping the body for stored creativity and ideas. She grew Poo-Pourri into a $300M+ business using a combination of somatic training, quantum physics, and interpersonal evolutionary processes, which she’s dubbed the Radical Resonance System. We definitely spend some time talking about the product and what it’s like to be a female founder, but things get a lot deeper than that – there’s even an absolutely incredible ghost story that Lindsey + Krista can not stop sharing at parties! And if you’ll be near Dallas on Tuesday, September 25th, you can catch Lindsey, Krista, and Suzy LIVE! Click here to get your tickets now!! This episode includes… Suzy’s awesome experiences with ayahuasca Healing the wounds of an abusive and tumultuous childhood Finding the light to physical and spiritual wellness Coming up with (and being drawn towards) the idea for Poo-Pourri Overcoming two bankruptcies Why Suzy never says she’s sorry for saying no The 4 signs of resonance Suzy’s relationship with fear + how she accepts those thoughts Bringing a conscious lifestyle into your business culture Conscious parenting Why there have to be aliens Talking about taboo topics + the (often hilarious) poop stories that Suzy hears every day Living in a church Suzy’s relationship with the spirits in her home How JP Sears has inspired Suzy Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!
