What is America's role in the world? It's a hotly contested question in American politics that cuts across the left-right divide. Whereas a Reaganite policy view of a strong and robust national defensive capability coupled with American-led diplomacy around the world used to be the norm, leaders on both the left and right can now be found on either side of this issue. This episode explores three groups that go along with John Bolton's view of strong American leadership. Michael Doran, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, explains the evolution of the think tank from its origins in the Cold War to today. From a newer group, Vandenberg Coalition, Carrie Filipetti delves into the organization's mission and the way it uses its powerhouse advisory board to advance a stronger America. Finally, Alexander Hamilton Society executive director Gabriel Scheinmann emphasizes the importance of cultivating future leaders in the space through AHS's programming.

Raise your hand if being a mom and working away from home has you STRESSED! Most parents would agree: one of the biggest challenges you face in the early years is figuring out how to patch together childcare you can actually afford! Most parents in the U.S. have felt the impact of our poor childcare economy. Stiff competition for daycare entry, care coverage that doesn't reflect the average work schedule, and costs that make it almost impossible for parents of littles to return to work at all are just a handful of the impossible choices working parents face.Meanwhile… businesses today are desperate for talent! So why aren't we catering to an eager but largely untapped potential workforce: parents of young children? We need systemic change, and Nicole Riehl is making incredible strides in this arena. Her organization, EPIC, helps businesses address their teams' childcare needs in a way that benefits their employees, companies, and the economy as a whole.Explore Nicole's insights and the innovative solutions that are reshaping how businesses support working parents:The major economic impacts of the country's inadequate childcare infrastructureWhy affordable, quality childcare is a business imperativeHow childcare improvements align with the future of modern communitiesRelated Links:EPIC's website - https://www.coloradoepic.org/Nicole's LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicole-riehl-ab46634/Nicole's Twitter - https://twitter.com/theriehlnicoleNicole's podcast, “The Dropoff” - https://www.coloradoepic.org/podcastGenXYZ 2023 - Top 25 Young Professionals - https://www.cobizmag.com/genxyz-2023-top-25-finalists/Denver Business Journal - Outstanding Women in Business Award -https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2022/08/19/dbj-2022-outstanding-women-in-business-awards.htmlUS Chamber of Commerce Foundation - https://www.uschamberfoundation.org/Bipartisan Policy Center - https://bipartisanpolicy.org/Council for Strong America - https://www.strongnation.org/articles/2038-122-billion-the-growing-annual-cost-of-the-infant-toddler-child-care-crisisRoadmap with The ECE Employer Roadmap - US Chamber of Commerce Foundation - https://www.uschamberfoundation.org/education/ece-employer-roadmapLeadership Denver - https://denverleadership.org/leadershipdenver/Proposition EE - https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb23-1290Employer-Based Childcare Design Lab - https://www.coloradoepic.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/EPIC-Design-Labs-Flyer-4-28-22-FINAL.pdfAi-Jen Poo's Care Fest - https://www.carefest.com/event/6b40797d-1bb7-403c-97ca-3ae437a3c87f/summaryTake Action - advocate for the policy reforms that drive gender equity at work, including access to affordable, quality care: www.bossedup.org/takeactionBossed Up Courage Community - https://www.facebook.com/groups/927776673968737/Bossed Up LinkedIn Group - https://www.linkedin.com/groups/7071888/

Live from the Heart of America—I'm Steve Gruber— Your Soldier of Truth—the Tip of the Spear against socialists—here ready to fight for you from the Foxhole of Freedom—AND—please my friends REMEMBER TO THINK while its still legal—this is the Steve Gruber Show— Here are 3 big things you need to know right now— Number One— One of the big Blue states has just delivered a potentially fatal blow to the Green New Deal fantasy—one that included skyrocketing energy prices and declining service— Number Two— The wars in Ukraine and Israel continue—and with the weakness in the Oval Office precipitating both conflicts—it raises plenty of questions about American leadership— Number Three— Its time for the 25th Amendment—I mean everybody can see the ongoing and dramatic decline of Joe Biden's ability to do the job— He is lost on stage, in the yard and everywhere else he seems to go—wandering Joe is just that—wandering aimlessly— Goes into catatonic freezes in mid-sentence—and says things that are almost unforgiveable—and indecipherable— And has routine bursts of mumbling that make Ozzy Osborne sound normal and coherent— And of course there have been the numerous public falls—on Air Force One—a few times—off a stationary bike in Delaware—and of course on the stage at the Air Force Academy— So, all kidding aside, we are at a crossroads—because weakness in the White House is largely responsible for the instability in the world—a Strong America—means the strength of western values and the principals of western civilization—and it means less wars and less aggressive enemies on the world stage—and as Ronald Reagan aptly pointed out—we need peace through strength— The problem however is simple—implementing the 25th Amendment would put the nation and the world in the hands of Kamala Harris—that is something that nobody actually wants—including Democrats—and they know if Kamala is President—they have roughly zero chance to win in November of 2024— And now after years of covering for the 80 year old Joe Biden—the mainstream media—the lapdogs that never vetted the senile old man—now know they cannot keep up the charade—his mental lapses, failures and fantasies are just too much to keep hidden—and has hard as they have tried in recent months to hide the cognitive failures—they are just too frequent—and any honest person can easily see the signs—Joe Biden is a sandwich short of a picnic at this point— He's not running the place—I'm not actually sure he ever did—but those pulling the strings realize their puppet is very tired and too unpredictable—and at any moment, on any stage at any event—he could stumble and fall for the last time— On 60 Minutes over the weekend—even they could not cover up what they were seeing up close any longer— Sadly however Democrats remain in a corner—because they are in political trouble with Joe Biden—and in worse trouble if they do what needs to be done—and trigger the 25th Amendment—which puts them even farther behind the 8-ball with Kamala Harris in charge— So those that are willing to sell you Snake Oil on a regular basis—and pushing it wholesale whenever they have an audience— And why is this dangerous? Well for all the obvious reasons—one gaff—one fall down the steps of Air Force One that doesn't end well or any other unforeseen medical issue—could leave America with President Harris and as I have argued for a long time—that is stone cold loser for the Democrats— But honestly today—I don't know if Democrats or the country has the luxury to continue watching Joe Biden deteriorate—and that could be dangerous to our kids and grandkids too—because if this becomes a hotter wider war—its almost certain that American soldiers will be on the ground in the Middle East which could spark fury against us there again—BUT also here at home—so it seems like a question that should be easy to answer—BUT for Joe, just like so many other questions—it's hard to navigate—or even explain in any clear fashion— The former President, Donald Trump is ready to take charge in just over a year—BUT that is a very long way ahead—the Real Clear Politics average has him leading Biden consistently now—but we are a long way from November 5th 2024— But on the campaign trail he has no problem taking shots and taking a clear position—

Cheri's guest, Barry D. Ford, is the President & CEO, Council for a Strong America. Barry recently spoke at a Business Symposium hosted by the Children's Cabinet which focused on the fact that we literally have an infant-toddler child care crisis across our nation at a current cost of $122 billion dollars a year. This crisis affects us as families, employers, taxpayers and of course, our precious children. Since 1996, Council for a Strong America has worked tirelessly and successfully to champion public policies and investments that strengthen families, communities, the economy, and the nation. What You Need to Know is that a strong America keeps the world stable. We must be militarily superior so we can keep peace. We must be economically strong so we can bring stability. However, America loses its international presence when we don't have a strong leader. Right now, Biden has proved he has no interest in leading, but instead he wants to use his power to pick winners and losers. China is invading us with TikTok. The federal justice system is weaponized against protected political opponents. The world is scrambling, and no one is looking to America anymore. Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project and former Chief Counsel for Nominations on Senate Judiciary, breaks down the five big lawfare campaigns to “get Trump.” The non-crimes they are pursuing him for are falling apart and it's going to bite them back, hard! The ramifications are spreading across government and culture and it must be stopped. Find all of Mike's work on Twitter and at Article3Project.org. Wrap Up: Despite what the frantic (and lazy) leftwing media are spinning, the Texas judge's order halting the FDA approval of chemical aborton drug mifepristone is well-written and needed. This drug has a very sketchy history over the last twenty years, and it's finally catching up to them. It's high time that we forced accountability and took a serious look at this drug's problematic history. No one can fight against that. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

To help, a group of retired federal and military executives under the Council for a Strong America called Mission Readiness. Gadgets Mentioned: 1. Shellaclavas for the kids during winter months--they provide warmth without making it harder to put on their helmets. $27.99 2. An extra large basket on my porter rack--this makes grabbing and going so much easier when picking up the kids and running errands rather than clipping things on or securing them otherwise. $49.99 3. LED bike rope lights--I have these on both my front tire and around the hooptie bars. They provide a ton more visibility in the winter months, are a good back up when a rechargeable light goes out, and they make the bike feel extra fun and festive. 4. A Nats flag. It wasn't meant to be practical, but I secured a flag to the rear Yepp seat during the playoff run last year, and now it's now a permanent fixture, and I think it provides a little extra visibility for the bike. The kids and I spread our Natitude everywhere we go! Link Jenny Harper grew up in Iowa, but moved to DC to work on Capitol Hill. She's now a Vice President at the Council for a Strong America, a non-profit working to ensure the next generation grows up healthy, educated, and prepared for success. Jenny is also a certified group fitness instructor and runs her own outdoor boot camp in Navy Yard. Jenny lives in Southwest, DC with her husband and their two young children. She teachs an outdoor boot camp in Navy Yard from March through December. It's great cross training to stay in biking shape, and I'm going to be adding some weekend family boot camp sessions in 2020 to get the entire family involved in fitness. www.bootcampwithjenny.com
Betty Cantrell Maxwell was born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia. This 25 year old beauty queen was ironically named after her Greek Grandmother, Baciliky, which means ‘Royalty’. Growing up, Betty lived the true country girl life as her and her family lives on a 675-acre farm in rural Georgia. She knows how to drive a full-sized John Deere tractor, plow and seed fields, and she can even handle a shotgun. She grew up in a strong Greek Orthodox family and attended church all her life in Macon, Georgia. Betty finds strength in her faith and carried this with her throughout her life and pageant career.Betty started taking professional vocal and stage lessons at 14. She loved to write songs but would never show anyone. In eighth grade, she got the lead role in the school play. She was never an A-student, and didn’t enjoy the sciences or math. But when it came to the arts, Betty was first place in all the poetry contests and talent shows. She studied at Mount de Sales Academy for high school and then went on to study vocal performance at Mercer University. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal performance.Betty clearly had all of the roots to make a great national American titleholder, which lead her to join her first pageant in 2013. Her mother encouraged her to join for the scholarship opportunities, but clearly Betty was meant for much more! She held two first-runner up positions in preliminary pageants during her early years competing, and then won the Miss Presidential Pathways 2014 as a major title in the Miss Georgia 2014 pageant. That year she placed as the second runner-up at Miss Georgia with a vocal performance as her talent and representing the platform Healthy Georgia, Strong America. Won the title of Miss Warner Robins 2015 where she advanced to the Miss Georgia America 2015 pageant. Betty then went on to win the Miss Georgia 2015 pageant on June 20, 2015. Betty was awarded $15,000 in scholarship money, plus a Kia Sorento during her reign. Betty excelled in talent, evening wear, and on-stage question, making her an excellent, and well-prepared candidate for the upcoming Miss America competition. This is all very impressive for a country girl who never saw herself becoming a pageant queen! Who this is for, and what we hope readers will get out of it. How we hope the Strong Towns conversation can be your “antidote” to the crazy, overheated rhetoric of national politics as another election season ramps up. A full breakdown of what all ten chapters are about. Maybe most exciting of all, Chuck will give you a little sneak peek of what we have planned for the Strong America Tour, kicking off in fall 2019. This national tour will take not just the book but the Strong Towns movement on the road in a way we’ve never done before. Chuck will be: Presenting a brand new presentation, including some “Choose Your Own Adventure” content so audiences can vote on what they want to hear that’s most relevant to their community; Spotlighting local efforts to build stronger towns, and helping local advocates connect with each other; Signing copies of Strong Towns, of course; and last but not least, documenting the tour, with the help of Strong Towns staff and volunteers, in a special Strong America e-book to be released afterwards! We’re so excited about this. And glad to have you on board the movement to build a nation of Strong Towns.

This week, TPA was joined by Jonathan Bydlak, President of the Institute for Spending Reform! We discussed government spending, the Pentagon budget, and their newest project-- the Guide to a Strong America.
On Wednesday night, the Republican-led House of Representatives passed a $1.3 trillion dollar "omnibus bill" to avert a government shutdown. In case you're wondering what $1.3 trillion gets you in 2018, the answer is "five more months of continued operation of the Federal Government." Of that budget, $700 billion goes toward the military. If you assume that government can only be either large and effective or small and ineffective, you might wrongly conclude that we need big spending for public goods like national defense. After all, without a strong military, what is to prevent predators from plundering our productive economy? However, Jonathan Bydlak of the Institute for Spending Reform thinks it's wrong to equate big spending with strength and safety. As a self-proclaimed "cheap hawk," he says we can have a strong military without bankrupting the country. He quotes Michael Mullen – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff – who said, “The most significant threat to our national security is our debt.” Mullen believes out-of-control spending actually weakens the military and the resources it uses. Bydlak has started an initiative called "Guide for a Strong America" under the banner of the Institute for Spending Reform, which lays out concrete cuts to the Pentagon's budget that would make us safer. Tune in to hear how D.C.'s culture of spending – which includes GOP leaders – is setting the U.S. up for something worse than a government shutdown.
This webinar, cohosted by the Alliance for Excellent Education, Center on Education Policy (CEP), and Council for a Strong America, featured a new research report from CEP on the most valuable skills and competencies required for more than 300 occupations nationwide. It also examined the role that external partners, including business, higher education, and community organizations, can play in helping students develop expertise in the field to supplement the academic content and learning that takes place in schools.

Here is what a prominent media person has stated: The country will totally collapse economically and will Balkinize within the next decade. A 70 trillion dollar debt cannot be correct regardless of who is president. This person is pathetic and it is a shame that thousands of other people are subject to listen to these statements. Strong America has been awakened and we are going to take our country back and zip up the wallet so no further spending can take place. The world will understand that we must save America first, because the entire world depends on a Strong America, not a weak, disrespected America that is sliding over the financial cliff to destruction. We are going to stress retained conservative economic values, starting with the president's implementation of supply-side economic policies, dubbed Reaganomics by both supporters and detractors. We are going to shrink the size of government and stop regulating every aspect of private lives. We are going to make America the place where job creators want to come and we are going to become energy independent and by doing so, create millions of jobs. By creating millions of jobs we stop government entitlement programs and put the task of insuring people back into the private sector and free enterprise and competition will once again, build a strong America.
