They discuss how dietary messaging has changed over the years. (8:00) Whole foods, including animal proteins, are the optimal way to get nutrients. (15:00) They discuss CGMs and how helpful they can be for awareness of what certain foods do to your blood glucose. (20:30) Your body responds to everything you eat; however, some foods raise glucose levels more than others. A CGM can help you discover your personal response and bioindividuality. They discuss the U.S. Food Pyramid and RFK's take on it. Following the previous dietary guidelines has not helped; in fact, it seems to have made things worse. For example, approximately 40% of the U.S. military members are overweight because of food served in military commissaries. (32:00) The Magic Pill documentary is fantastic viewing. Twenty years ago, Third Rail Repertory Theatre launched itself onto the Portland theatre scene with a production called “Recent Tragic Events,” set just after the attacks of 9/11. That play, written by Craig Wright, put Third Rail Rep on the map, winning a number of local theatre honors. While many theatres have come and gone in that time, Third Rail is among those that were able to survive the pandemic and other economic pressures.
