In this episode we look at Oman. Recorded during a media briefing, Daniel J. Levy speaks with Marc Sievers, former US Ambassador to Oman, about the latest indirect US–Iran nuclear talks and why Oman so often sits at the centre of regional diplomacy. Sievers explains how Oman's distinctive relationship with Iran developed from the Sultan Qaboos era, how it shaped backchannel engagement during the JCPOA years, and what changed under “maximum pressure” when the US withdrew from the deal. Retired Ambassador Marc Sievers is now the Director of AJC Abu Dhabi: The Sidney Lerner Centre for Arab-Jewish Understanding. He served as a US diplomat for more than 30 years across the Middle East and North Africa, including postings in Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

Stāsta Latvijas kultūras akadēmijas pētnieks, arheologs Jānis Meinerts; pārraides producente – Gita Lancere Šoreiz pievērsīsimies slavenākajai no Latvijas ezermītnēm – Āraišu ezerpilij.
Šis gods pienākas vācbaltiešu amatierarheologam Karlam Georgam fon Zīversam (Jakob Carl Georg Graf von Sievers), kurš, vadoties no vietējo iedzīvotāju nostāstiem, Āraišu ezermītni bija atklājis un veicis tajā nelielus izrakumus jau 1876. gadā.

Is it possible to end homelessness for veterans in your community? Megan Sievers is on a mission to make that vision a reality. In this episode of our series, Loving Your Neighbor as Yourself, Shay Roush sits down with Megan Sievers, Executive Director of Welcome Home, a Columbia, Missouri-based nonprofit dedicated to serving homeless veterans. You may not realize that many who have given of themselves to serve our country face challenges that go unnoticed and deserve our attention. This conversation highlights how Welcome Home embodies this mission by supporting veterans in need. Welcome Home began when Vietnam veterans, heartbroken by seeing their comrades die homeless, established a shelter in 1992 to provide a lifeline for veterans. Since then, this organization has evolved from offering basic shelter to comprehensive services like emergency housing, case management, and homelessness prevention, all rooted in a commitment to honor veterans' sacrifices. Megan shares powerful stories of transformed lives as Welcome Home addresses the complex issues veterans face, including PTSD, substance abuse, and isolation. Loving others well means bringing dignity and hope to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, because those who have served our country deserve our love and support in return. Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill is being negotiated in the Senate, and how it gets hammered out could have major implications for commercial real estate. The breadth of possible impacts are huge, from the return of bonus depreciation, which could finally make the math work on deals, to qualified business income deductions allowing CRE to write off more debt and a possible ban on state regulations on AI, which could kill local rules on rent-setting software and change the data center map.On this episode, EisnerAmper partner Ryan Sievers broke down what CRE needs to have its eye on to maximize profit and get deals moving in a new tax environment.Register on Bisnow.com to join next Friday's conversation live, or check back here for the conversation after it airs.

In this illuminating episode, Blue Rain Gallery founder Leroy Garcia engages in a thoughtful dialogue with esteemed artists Matthew Sievers and Bryce Pettit. Together, they delve into the inspirations, challenges, and techniques that define their celebrated practices—Sievers as a painter of expressive, light-drenched landscapes, and Pettit as a sculptor whose elegant bronze forms pay tribute to the natural world.Matthew Sievers discusses his pursuit of emotional resonance through bold, gestural brushwork and layered tonalities, revealing how his compositions aim to capture the fleeting interplay of light and landscape. Bryce Pettit offers a glimpse into the sculptural process, reflecting on the patience, precision, and deep observation of wildlife that inform his meticulously crafted bronzes.Throughout the conversation, Leroy guides listeners through an exploration of artistic intention, material mastery, and the ways in which personal vision evolves over time. In June of 2015, Dr. Teresa Sievers was on vacation with her family in Connecticut. She decided to cut it short and return home so she could see patients at her medical practice, while her husband stayed in Connecticut with their children. Dr. Sievers was last seen on surveillance in the airport after her flight arrived, as she made her way out and drove home. When she arrived home, she was brutally attacked by two unknown assailants, who ultimately took her life. For nearly two months, investigators chased every lead, but were running out of options when a tip came in that led them to the men responsible, nearly 1100 miles away. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** Murder by Bludgeoning with a Blunt Object | Murder for Hire Hang with us: Follow Us on Instagram Like Us on Facebook Join our Case Discussion Group on Facebook Get Killer Queens Merch Bonus Episodes Support Our AMAZING Sponsors: IQ Bar: 20% off all IQBAR products. Severs' disease, also known as calcaneal apophysitis, is a condition that affects children between the ages of 8 and 14 who are going through a growth spurt. It is characterized by pain and inflammation in the heel, particularly in the back of the calcaneus. The condition is caused by the growth of bones outpacing the growth of soft tissues, such as tendons and ligaments. Factors that contribute to the development of Sievers' disease include playing sports during the growth spurt, wearing restrictive footwear, and lack of attention to growth spurts in sports physicals. Treatment options include rest, immobilization, isometric exercises, motor control training, and dry needling. It is important to accurately diagnose the condition and tailor the treatment to the individual. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefarmcast/message

At 4' 11” tall, Teresa was known as a “little dynamo.” She was intelligent, abrupt, forceful, and, above all, caring. She always wore high heels, and she always spoke in an urgent manner. Nothing was ever blasé when it came to Dr. Sievers. The four members of the Sievers family took a short trip to Connecticut for a family reunion, leaving on Friday, June 26th. Teresa decided to cut her visit short and head back to Florida to prepare for her workload the next week. There was no point in making Mark or their daughters cut their visit short, so she took a solo flight home. Mark dropped her off at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. When an alternative medicine doctor was found bludgeoned to death in her Bonita Springs, Florida home in the summer of 2015, friends and neighbors worried a burglar was on the loose, looking for his next random victim. Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff's Office told the public that Dr. Teresa Sievers had been bashed in the back of the head after returning home early from a trip with her husband and two daughters. An online sleuth group wondered if Dr. Sievers's death was connected to that of several other alternative medicine doctors throughout the country who had also died under mysterious circumstances in recent months. The slain doctor's husband, Mark, had an airtight alibi. Who killed Dr. Sievers and why? The disturbing details of her murder would be revealed in time, and the answers rocked the community.
