Danke! Martina und Björn

This Point Salad feels like a Stefan Feld design, but it's not! It's Co-designed by Reiner Knizia, and uses an action selection mechanism borrowed from his classic Ingenius for a great puzzly, yet smooth medium weight Euro Game published by R&R Games. 0:00 - Introduction 0:27 - 1 Minute Overview 1:39 - 1 Minute Final Thoughts 2:34 - Full Introduction 3:05 - Full Game Overview 11:34 - Full Final Thoughts 15:47 - Saxophone Serenade BGG: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/318560/witchstone Additional Sponsors: Bezier Games (Maglev Metro) https://beziergames.com/collections/all-games/products/maglev-metro Grey Fox Games (Last Light) - https://lastlightgame.com/ Arcane Wonders (Picture Perfect) - https://www.arcanewonders.com/product/picture-perfect/ Game Toppers - https://game-toppers-30-upgrading-every-game-you-play.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders The Game Boy Geek Helps You “Find & Enjoy the Next Board Game You'll Love” with new content at least every other day. The split between Eurogame and Ameritrash gamers is as old as it it is silly, but in the last ten years it's also become a lot more nebulous. It's less clear than ever which side of the fence games fall on, so why still use these archaic labels at all? Maybe it's time for a change. Before we heal the divide, we talk about Hostage Negotiator, Juicy Fruits, Sleeping Gods, and Witchstone. 04:25 - Hostage Negotiator 12:38 - Juicy Fruits 17:34 - Sleeping Gods 28:38 - Witchstone 35:10 - Ingenious 39:57 - PAX Unplugged & BGB Official Math Trade 40:37 - Eurogames and Ameritrash labels 45:33 - Forbidden Stars 46:35 - Kemet 46:35 - Scythe 47:44 - Eclipse 48:05 - Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition 49:15 - Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire 49:40 - Blood Rage 50:17 - Gloomhaven 54:30 - El Grande 1:00:28 - Dune Send us a voicemail for Episode 200: https://boardgamebarrage.com/voicemail The PAX Unplugged & BGB official math trade: https://boardgamebarrage.com/paxtrade Check out our wiki at: https://boardgamebarrage.com/wiki Join the discussion at: https://boardgamebarrage.com/discord Join our Facebook group at: https://boardgamebarrage.com/facebook Get a Board Game Barrage T-shirt at: https://boardgamebarrage.com/store

In this constructively 155th episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast, Quinns and Tom are absolutely going to build you two cities and then bury you in witches. Today we're talking about Magnate: The First City and North Berkeley, two very different takes on the property market with at least some political undercurrents, and we've got Witchstone, which switches to witches. Plus a little bonus micro-chat about Tom's recent review of The Adventures of Robin Hood. Have a lovely weekend, folks! Titles, as Herr Doktor Doktor Vincent Diesel, esq. O.B.E. could tell you, are important things. They must be recorded for posterity, quite literally in the case of Dogberry: "But masters, remember that I am an ass, though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass." Mark and Walker are bereft of such honorifics; "Gilded Ones" apparently only applies if you go the full gilt route, which sounds way too painful to endorse. Whether philosophers get any titles past "lovers of wisdom" is a matter of some controversy; Mark weighs in all the same. Fun fact: The Red Cathedral isn't really a cathedral at all, it's a sobor, which isn't really the same thing. Also fun fact: Unsurprisingly, Mark is wrong to say that Fenrir will swallow the moon at the end of the world, as that is patently absurd. Fenrir swallows the sun, which makes perfect sense. Except, of course, for renditions where Fenrir's children Skoll and Hati swallow the moon and sun respectively. I guess we'll have to wait and see who got it right.
