After betrayal, one question tends to dominate the mind more than any other: “Why did they cheat?” It feels logical. Necessary. Like the answer might finally bring peace. But what if that question, however understandable, is quietly keeping you stuck? In this Christmas Eve episode, Luke explores why the search for “why” often leads to more rumination, more self-blame, and more pain, rather than healing. He offers a gentle but powerful reframe that helps you step out of analysis and into integration without dismissing the depth of what you've been through. If you're lying awake replaying the story, searching for answers, or wondering what you missed, this episode is an invitation to soften the question and give your nervous system some rest. Key Takeaways Wanting answers after betrayal is a nervous system response, not a failure The question “Why did they cheat?” often reinforces self-blame There is rarely a single, clean explanation that brings peace Betrayal is not caused by partner performance A more useful question shifts focus away from the past and back to you Understanding doesn't heal when it keeps you looking backwards You don't need certainty or answers to rest tonight If you find yourself stuck in loops of rumination, self-blame, or unanswered questions after betrayal, support can help you move from analysis into clarity, at your own pace. Through one-to-one coaching and The After the Affair Collective, Luke helps people rebuild self-trust, calm the nervous system, and find steadier ground, whether they stay, leave, or are still deciding. Who's winning and losing in AI plays like a wacky race in that every week there seems to be a new leader. But that's actually the wrong way of thinking about today's AI revolution. The right questions are about the three Cs: Capability, Capital and Civics. That's the lesson of Keith Teare's latest That Was The Week tech newsletter which focuses on what he calls “the Year in Intelligence”. Nobody is winning the AI race, Teare argues, because it isn't a race. Instead, it's an endless innovation cycle without either a start or finish line. The three key questions are whether AI capabilities are solving real social and economic problems, whether we can fund a $200 trillion industrial rebuild, and whether the rewards can be equitably shared. Those are the questions we should be asking. Not who is winning or losing.Keen On America is a reader-supported publication. Why Did Rome Fall? Wrong Question. How Did it Last 2,000 Years Despite Changing its Religion, Language, and Government?

Rome began as a pagan, Latin-speaking city state in central Italy during the early Iron Age and ended as a Christian, Greek-speaking empire as the age of gunpowder dawned. Everything about it changed, except its Roman identity. This was due to a unique willingness among Romans to include new people as citizens, an openness to new ideas, and an unparalleled adaptability that enabled Romans to remake every aspect of their society in ways that made it stronger and more resilient. Romans, who believed that their city was originally settled by exiles and captives, found a balance between the embrace of new people and ideas and a conservative attachment to the core features that had traditionally defined Roman society. Roman history is a story of 80 generations of Romans who deftly challenged the rules governing their lives—and usually did so without overturning the institutions that made them safe and prosperous. In an age when people around the world are increasingly looking to charismatic leaders promising to scrap the rules governing modern states, Rome shows why states that want to endure should be repelled by the sudden, unpredictable jolts such characters provide. To explore this topic with us is today’s guest, Edward J. Watts, author of “The Romans: A 2000-Year History.” Rather than collapse, Watts shows how Rome endured, evolved, and redefined itself for two thousand years—from the Punic Wars to the Crusades, and from Augustus to Constantine to Charlemagne.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

You've heard the story of the Good Samaritan countless times, but have you ever thought of the story as only half of the conversation? The parable is Jesus's answer to a series of questions posed by an expert in the Jewish law. "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" The man didn't know it at the time, but he was asking the wrong questions. Many of us ask the wrong questions in our relationship with God as well. But Jesus, like every good teacher, has an incredible way of leading us from the wrong questions to the right answers. What follows the lawyer's questions is one of the most powerful, provocative, and transformative stories ever told. It reveals to us that while God does indeed care about what we do, he cares much more about who we are. The parable of the Good Samaritan leads us away from self-justifying legalism, and toward the overflowing compassion and mercy of the Kingdom of God.

The Gas Station Story That Reveals a Common Money Mistake Let me paint a picture for you. https://www.youtube.com/live/uqGN5Sz9tJg You're driving down the highway and see gas at $3.00 a gallon. Three miles later, you spot it for $2.97. You think, "Yes! A deal!" So you turn around, drive the extra six miles, and save... 30 cents. Except you used 40 cents of gas to get there. This is the kind of logic many people use when comparing Infinite Banking vs Index Funds. It's a hyper-focus on rate of return, while missing the bigger picture of financial control, access, and long-term strategy. So let's talk about it. The Gas Station Story That Reveals a Common Money MistakeRate of Return Isn't the Whole StoryInfinite Banking vs Index Funds: What Are We Actually Comparing? Why Rate of Return Isn't the Only FactorUnderstanding the Purpose of Your DollarsInfinite Banking Is About Ownership and LeverageInterrupting Compounding Is the Real CostControl vs Performance: What Matters Most?Infinite Banking vs Index Funds Is the Wrong ComparisonListen to the Full Podcast EpisodeBook A Strategy CallFAQ: Infinite Banking vs Index FundsQ: Are index funds better than Infinite Banking?Q: Can I use both Infinite Banking and index funds?Q: Does Infinite Banking have a good rate of return?Q: Is Infinite Banking risky? Rate of Return Isn't the Whole Story There's a conversation happening everywhere in the financial world: Should I use Infinite Banking or just invest in an index fund? Maybe you've asked this question yourself. You've heard someone say, "Wouldn't I make more money if I just put it in an S&P 500 index fund?" This comparison sounds reasonable — until you realize it's like comparing a hammer to a screwdriver and asking, "Which one builds a better house?" The truth? You're asking the wrong question. In this article, you'll learn: Why comparing Infinite Banking to index funds is fundamentally flawed The purpose and role of each strategy How to think like a wealth creator, not just a rate chaser Why long-term control beats short-term returns Let's flip the script and empower you to take control of your financial life—with clarity, confidence, and a legacy mindset. Infinite Banking vs Index Funds: What Are We Actually Comparing? Here's where we start: Infinite Banking is not an investment. It's a cash flow system, a capital control strategy, a way to reclaim the banking function in your life. It uses a specially designed, dividend-paying whole life insurance policy as the tool—but Infinite Banking is the process. Index funds, on the other hand, are investments. They're baskets of stocks that mirror the market—the S&P 500, the Russell 2000, etc. The goal of an index fund is growth through market performance. So when someone says, "But the market earns more than whole life insurance," they're missing the point. We're not solving the same problem. Infinite Banking solves for control of capital. Index funds solve for growth. Why Rate of Return Isn't the Only Factor We get it. Everyone wants to know their ROI. But when that becomes your only filter, you lose sight of what really matters. Consider this: When you access money from an index fund, you sell shares. You interrupt compounding. You lose growth potential. With Infinite Banking, you borrow against your cash value—without interrupting growth. That means your money continues to earn even while you're using it. "You're always paying interest. Either to someone else, or by giving up what you could have earned on your own capital." — Bruce Wehner When you control the banking function, you stop giving away the opportunity to earn. And that's where legacy wealth starts. Understanding the Purpose of Your Dollars All money has a job. We teach our clients to classify money into three roles: Safety Liquidity Growth Most people try to make every dollar do all three. That never works.

Do you ever find yourself asking: “What's wrong with me?”As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), it's a question that might feel familiar — but it's the wrong question to ask if you want to heal, grow, and thrive. In this episode of SelfKind with me, Erica Webb, I share why shifting from “What's wrong with me?” to “What do I need to feel supported?” changes everything. Using the example of my (slightly unruly!) Monstera plant, I'll show you how support — not self-blame — is the foundation for self-care, self-love, and resilience as an HSP.

You've probably heard the debate about whether term or whole life insurance is "better" and wondered which side is right. In this episode, we explain why you're asking the wrong question entirely. Comparing these two types of insurance based on premium alone will lead you to the wrong conclusion every time. We'll show you why term and whole life insurance are designed for completely different purposes. Term insurance efficiently protects against lost wages if you die prematurely. It's temporary, affordable coverage that handles a specific risk during your working years. Whole life insurance serves entirely different needs, like covering estate administration costs, final expenses, and supplementing retirement income. You'll learn about the five distinct situations where whole life makes sense, including its unique cash value component. We also discuss why the higher premium for whole life isn't a bug—it's a feature based on the mathematical certainty that the insurance company will eventually pay a claim. You might discover that you need both types of coverage, not one or the other. We'll help you understand when each tool is appropriate and why trying to force one product to do the other's job is a recipe for frustration. This isn't about which product is superior—it's about matching the right solution to your specific situation. ____________________________________ Ready to figure out which type of life insurance fits your needs?
