On 24 April 2005, the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola became one of the defining races of Fernando Alonso's first championship season. He won for Renault, but the result is remembered above all for the final laps, when Michael Schumacher brought the Ferrari close enough to make every corner matter. Alonso had started second. Schumacher had started 13th on the grid after a difficult qualifying session, yet as his pace came alive, it transformed the afternoon. Kimi Räikkönen had led early for McLaren before retiring with a driveshaft problem, and Alonso inherited a race that soon became a test of control as much as speed. In the closing phase, Schumacher was the faster driver. He had the Ferrari underneath him, the experience of seven world titles behind him, and a circuit where passing was difficult. Alonso had track position, a Renault R25 to protect, and no margin for error. For lap after lap, he placed the car exactly where it needed to be. Alonso crossed the line just 0.215 seconds ahead of Schumacher. After the later BAR-Honda disqualifications, Alexander Wurz was classified third for McLaren Mercedes. Imola 2005 remains a clean piece of Formula 1 memory: pressure, restraint, and two drivers at different points of their stories meeting at the edge of a changing era. Machismo! We spoke with former World Drivers' Champion Nigel Mansell after the regulation refinements were announced and he shared his views. Here's a summary of what he said: It's fabulous that everyone's talking and this is a massive change "I think the fabulous thing is that everyone's talking. It's been a massive change in regulations, both with the car and the engine. I think there's going to be improvements with the harvesting of power. Hopefully, they won't be slowing down too much into some of the corners now.” "I think it is so vitally important for the drivers to be able to drive the cars to the maximum, as opposed to having a computer telling them when they can brake or can't brake. Fernando Alonso made us all laugh by saying that his chef could drive the car better than he could at the moment.” "We have to get back to normality. Formula One is the grand stallion of all racing worldwide and we mustn't lose sight of that. And as technology gathers pace, they can do these other tweaks to do 50/50 later but they just need to give more power to the cars at the moment to go racing.” I'd like to see more power to the elbows of the drivers "In engineering terms, if it's not broken, you don't try to fix it. People don't understand that there's major changes which have been in place for some time. It takes a lot of time for all the teams and manufacturers to put it all together.”   "So the complexity of the rules is enormous and if you don't get it right, along with the combination of the power units, harvesting of electrical power, and so on and so forth. It's a minefield.”   "Drivers can fall foul of so many regulations and yet it's the computers doing it all. I'd just like to see more power to the elbow of the drivers, as opposed to computers doing it.”   "Going back to the 70s and 80s, 90+ percent of the engines were Cosworth DFV. Everyone had the same engines pretty much and we had fantastic racing. You knew the cars, the drivers, the tyres, the mechanics and the engineers made a huge difference.”   "Yes we're in the computer age but racing should be as stable as it can be, for everyone to be able to catch up to compete. Everyone's mooting it would be great to have the V10s back for the noise. If you're a purist, the answer is yes. Everybody makes their own V10 and it'll sound fantastic because it's the pinnacle of motorsport.” Challenge for F1 is to balance technological advancement and "racing" "I have tremendous sympathy, and support the drivers one hundred percent with what they're saying. They need to be listened to. They've got a job to do and they do a fantastic job, all of them.”   "It's all well and good, coming up with new ideas and regulations. All I'd say to the powers that be is that they've done a fantastic job but they have to work and they have to be able to be implemented safely and properly.”   "When they've tweaked it enough that it works, it's fantastic. But until it does work properly for everybody, we need to keep tweaking it, I think urgently now so that we get the show on the road.”   "As long as it doesn't carry on for much longer they'll be fine. They're all doing a great job. What the manufacturers have done, the FIA, the governing body and Liberty Media themselves.”   "They mustn't lose sight of the fact that the cars need to race properly. It has some growing pains but it has been the most difficult start of any year because they've had three races and then this month or so off. And now we've got Miami so I think everyone's excited about that at the end of next week as we can get racing again.” Mercedes still have the advantage despite regulation refinements "If you're Mercedes you must be incredibly frustrated because you could have gotten a big lead in the championship.”   "The people who are struggling, they'd go 'oh, thank you!'. They get a bit more time to sort things out and get ready for the next race.”   "It's on both ends of the spectrum. Some people are going to feel very comfortable with it and some will feel frustrated. It's racing anyway. There's always something going on.”   "I don't think so (Mercedes and Toto Wolff being disappointed) because we haven't had a proper race yet, if you're a purist. Mercedes have done such a fantastic job, they'll have an advantage all through the year. Their engine is better than anybody else's.”   "We're talking purely here about harvesting power and drivers being able to race the cars on the track and at every corner as much as they can. So it's a different thing altogether".   "I still think Mercedes will have an advantage all through the year but it's a big development. It's a big development with the cars, with the engines. A month is a very long time and we could see a lot of changes in Miami. Once we get racing properly, everything can stay stable again. It's just that everybody is not racing properly at the moment".   These regulation refinements make Miami GP the first pivotal race of the season   "I hope everything settles down and we have a great race in Miami.”   "I think Miami, because the focus is on it, could be one of the pivotal races this year with all the new tweaks. I think Miami's got hype because obviously without going into the negativity of what's happening in the war, with this month off, everybody's hungry to go racing again. So Miami's going to be under the microscope, and I think it's going to be a fantastic race down there.”   "Well, I'll let you know firsthand I'm gonna be there this year for one of the days, so I'm gonna go and have a look. This is my first time in Miami. I haven't been there but Miami is a great spectacle. I think every year when any race returns, there's improvements.”   "I'm very optimistic that Miami will be a much better presentation.” Stovebolt Special Returns to Pebble Beach Decades after Historic Run in Last Road Race   PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA (April 22, 2026) — At the drop of the green flag, in what was to be the very last road race at Pebble Beach although no one knew that then, two-time past winner Bill Pollack jumped into the lead in a much-modified car that would come to be known as the “Stovebolt Special”—a 1950 HWM fitted with experimental disc brakes and the very first Chevy V8 to be used in road racing. The date was April 22, 1956. For a brief time, the car led the Ferraris of Phil Hill, Carroll Shelby, and Ernie McAfee as well as every other car in the race. It was powered to win—and might have done so but for the many tight corners of the tree-lined course, which the just-completed special struggled to navigate since its handling was not yet dialed in. Ultimately it finished sixth overall—a fine achievement in a field comprising the top sports racing cars and drivers of the day.  Although the Stovebolt Special now resides in England with renowned auto journalist and current owner Simon Taylor, it will return to Pebble Beach this August for the 75th celebration of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, an event that began in tandem with the Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950.  The HWM had already lived a long and storied life when it raced at Pebble Beach. In original form, as a works race car bearing a four-cylinder two-liter Alta engine, it served as the steed for Stirling Moss in his first paid competition. He raced the car for HWM throughout much of the 1950 season, recording several fine results including a third-place finish behind the Alfas of Giuseppe Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio in the Bari Grand Prix. With Johnny Claes at the wheel, the HWM won the Grand Prix des Frontieres. It was also driven by Rudi Fischer and Raymond Sommer.  A few years later, the car was sold to 20th Century Fox to be used in the film “The Racers,” starring Kirk Douglas—and was crashed in accord with the script.  It was Tom Carstens who bought the wreck and resurrected it for Pebble Beach, not simply rebuilding it, but doing all that he could to improve the chassis, transmission, and body. The new Chevy V8 engine was bored and stroked to just under five liters by Bobby Meeks at Vic Edelbrock's shop and then was fitted in the car by Eddie Kuzma, who managed that task by repositioning the firewall and fabricating new rear bodywork. Ted Halibrand's shop added a quick-change rear axle and the disc brakes.  The finished creation was called the Stovebolt Special by “Sports Cars Illustrated” magazine—and the name stuck. The return of the Stovebolt Special to Pebble Beach is made possible thanks to Simon Taylor as well as the American Hot Rod Foundation (ahrf.com), particularly founder Steve Memishian and foundation manager David Steele.The “Stovebolt Special” among several race cars in competition at the very last road race through the tree-lined course in Pebble Beach. The former road racers will be showcased in two special classes, one focusing on cars that raced in close-to-original form as made by their manufacturers and the other focusing on specials that were much modified. The event will also feature cars ranging from early American Speedsters to Ferraris and Japanese race cars, and the latest new creations and dream cars will be displayed on the Concept Lawn.  ZHENRUI CHI JOINS THE ASTON MARTIN ARAMCO FORMULA ONE™ TEAM DRIVER ACADEMY 22 April 2026, AMRTC, Silverstone, UK: The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team is pleased to announce that Zhenrui Chi has joined its Driver Academy. A podcast to answer all your questions about productivity, time management, self-development, and goal planning. My name is Carl Pullein, and I am your host of this show.  Throughout our lives, there is usually some goal or purpose we are attempting to achieve.  When at school, it's to pass our exams so we can go on to university or to get a job in a specific field. When we begin our careers, we are often driven to work hard to get promoted. Or at least that's how the theory goes.  The trouble is, if you step back from these “goals”, they seem to be pushed onto us by our parents, society and our peers.  It's rare for anyone to step away from this blueprinted path and set their own course. In the past, people who did not follow the well-worn path would have been politely described as “eccentric”, or impolitely “weird”.  I remember back in 2002, when I quit law and flew to Korea to teach English, my friends and colleagues could not understand why I would give up a career in law to teach English.  Yet, my heart was not in law. It always felt wrong. If I am being honest, I believe my motivation for studying law and working in a law firm was purely about status and about living a life that other people wanted me to live. Coming to Korea turned out to be the best thing I've ever done. I discovered my purpose: to help other people, and I found the medium through which I could do that: teaching.  It's what I still do today. I help people through teaching.  In our working lives, it's easy to have a purpose. It might not be our true purpose, but climbing the promotion ladder does seem to give us a purpose. How high up the ladder can we climb?  Yet, chasing the next promotion is never going to be a life's purpose. It might be a career goal, but ultimately, it will end at some point, and that ending point will unlikely be within your control.  I'm reminded of one of England's top lawyers, Lord Jonathan Sumption.  Lord Sumption was a celebrated barrister, rising to the top of the legal profession when he became a judge at the Supreme Court.  The mandatory retirement age for Supreme Court judges in England is 70, so when Lord Sumption turned 70, he retired from the legal profession.  However, his real passion was never for law. That was his career, and he was very good at it. His real passion was for medieval history, and today Lord Sumption is regarded as one of the leading historians of that era. He continues to write books and talk on the subject.  Tony Robbins talks about the six human needs in his brilliant Unleash the Power Within seminar. These human needs are:  The need for: Certainty - the certainty that you can avoid pain and gain pleasure, and the need for uncertainty and variety - the need for the unknown and new stimuli.  The need for significance - the feeling of being unique, important, special or needed and then the need for connection and love - a strong feeling of closeness to someone or something  And then there are the two areas that when we are young, we often dismiss, largely because we are so caught up in our own lives. They are the need to contribute and the need to grow.  When I first did the associated exercise related to these needs, I did just that. My top two were the need for certainty and the need for significance. (Typical for someone who creates content, funnily enough) I dismissed the needs to contribute and grow. Yet now, I see that these two needs are the source of our purpose.  All living beings need to grow. When we stop growing, we start dying. Just look at what happens to muscles when we stop using them. They weaken and whither. That's your body doing its job. It wants to conserve energy, and if you're not using an energy-expensive muscle, it will weaken the muscle.  That is just another reason it's important to make sure you do your resistance training every day. (Or at least three to four times a week). Yet growth is not just about the physical; it's also about the mental. The need to be continuously learning.  This is where our hobbies come in. Hobbies such as learning languages, geology, car mechanics, medieval history, and problem-solving keep our brains active. Our brains continue to grow as we learn.  A good reason not to try to figure everything out by using customer service or Chat GPT. Use your problem-solving skills to figure it out.  And the contribution is where we get our sense of fulfilment. Passing on our knowledge and what we have learned from our life experiences by teaching others.  When I worked in law, it always felt like it was just about billable time. How much could we charge the client? I tried to convince myself that I was helping people, but my bosses were not interested in that part. They just wanted to know how much I had billed that week.  When I began teaching English to adults in Korea, that changed. It did not matter how many students I had in my classes. I got paid the same. Now I felt I was contributing to someone's success.  Something changed in me, too. I felt excited to go to work every morning. I'd never felt that before, and it took me a while to figure out what that was. It was because each day I got the chance to help people improve their lives and career prospects, and it was a joy to see their progress.  If you were to build a retirement around growth and contribution, you would soon find that your purpose becomes clear.  For most of us, our purpose is unlikely to be as grand as bringing world peace or finding a solution to global warming. For some, maybe, but for most of us, not likely.  Purpose is often much smaller than that. It could be to raise and support your children so they can navigate through their worlds with positivity and pragmatism. For others, it could be, like me, to teach as many people as I can to be better organised and less stressed.  The late Prince Philip, who died five years ago, told his daughter, Princess Anne, that to find your purpose, you should find something that you feel you can make an impact on.  For Prince Philip, that meant conserving and protecting the planet, as well as helping young people be active through his Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.  He was talking about conservation and climate change in the 1950s, well before it became fashionable to do so. He was a founding member of the World Wildlife Fund, wrote multiple books on the subject, and was active in climate science. For Princess Anne, it has been, and remains so today, saving children in war-torn environments, animal welfare and hearing dogs for the deaf.  Which then leads us to the second problem here.  When we retire, it can be very tempting to fill our calendars with all sorts of work in the name of good causes. Don't do that.  You are not going to be able to have an impact on everything. Instead, you want to look at what you are genuinely interested in.  Prince Philip gave a 19-year-old Princess Anne some sage advice when she asked him what she should get involved in. He told her that she would be inundated with offers to be a patron of this or that. He advised her that she could never be a patron of everything, so she should choose those in which she had a genuine interest.  Ron Dennis, the former owner of the McLaren Formula 1 team, retired from Formula 1 in 2017 and dedicated his retirement to helping young people achieve their aspirations and to become role models for future generations.  His experience of working with people like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Kimi Räikkönen gave him the knowledge and experience to help young sportsmen and women achieve their dreams.  There's likely to be something that you have an interest in. If that can be coupled with your knowledge and experience, then you have something you can contribute, and that, in turn, will give you a sense of purpose.  In many ways, the challenge is not about finding purpose; it is narrowing it down to the one or two things that we feel we can have an impact on.  The same challenge we faced when in the corporate world is still there in retirement: overcommitting. This is why it's important not to rush into things when you transition. Explore, think, test, and experience by all means, but set a deadline for refining your activities into something more manageable.  One of the wonderful things about the world we live in today is that we can share our ideas and experiences by writing a blog, recording a podcast, or even starting a YouTube channel.  The great thing about these avenues is that they need consistency to grow. A weekly podcast does far better than a podcast that rarely adds episodes. This helps you to bring structure into your weeks. You can set aside a day or two each week for your content production.  As your blog, podcast, or YouTube channel grows, that in itself gives you a sense of purpose, particularly if it is contributing to making an impact on something you have an interest in.  So, if you are struggling to find your purpose, first, don't overthink it. It's rarely about solving the world's problems; it's more about helping people to better themselves, and as someone with the experience you have, you are in a very strong position to be able to help.  Make sure it is something you are interested in, something you enjoy reading about and something you like talking to other people about. If you wake up excited about doing something related to this, then you've found your purpose.  One of the most inspiring stories I heard about was about two Canadian gentlemen who loved skiing. Each year, they would go skiing together with their families.  When they retired, they both decided to take their ski instructor certification and become ski instructors. And that is what they do today. They are both qualified ski instructors, and each winter they spend their days teaching people to ski.  This keeps them fit and strong and brings an incredible social experience.  I hope this has helped. Jean-Marie Balestre: El Autócrata de la FIA. Otro gran fin de semana de Fórmula 1 y, sobre todo, una inconmensurable exhibición del que a pesar de las críticas, está demostrando ser el mejor piloto de la parrilla actual, Max Verstappen. Nos queda buen sabor de boca ahora que, otra vez, estaremos varias semanas sin Grandes Premios. Así que esta semana, en el Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1, toca analizar a fondo toda la locura que fue el GP de São Paulo. Un gran piloto, sin el mejor coche. Recital de Max Verstappen. Empezó 17º el Gran Premio y acabó ganándolo después de una gran remontada que no veíamos desde 2007, cuando Kimi Räikkönen también partió de esa posición en Brasil y también ganó la carrera… y luego la temporada. Es cierto que el holandés pudo aprovecharse de situaciones favorables, por supuesto. Por cierto, que ninguna de ellas le resta el más mínimo mérito, pues todos sabemos que ahora mismo no tiene el mejor coche, a pesar de lo cual encadenó 17 vueltas rápidas en carrera. Una locura. Por otro lado, fin de semana muy loco en São Paulo con una lluvia torrencial que obligó incluso a celebrar la clasificación en domingo, además de adelantar la carrera hora y media. En el otro platillo de la balanza, Norris, que está cometiendo demasiados errores: así no se puede ganar un Mundial. Una salida tan loca como la carrera. Como suele suceder, Norris perdió la primera plaza, desde la que salía, en la primera vuelta, contra Russell. Mientras, Max ganaba 7 posiciones y Pérez hacía un trompo. Pero, para trompo, el de Stroll en la vuelta de formación, tras el que se fue, de forma incomprensible, a la grava, y provocó un lío monumental al abortarse el procedimiento de salida. Por cierto, un lío muy grande porque ni pilotos ni equipos parecen saberse correctamente el reglamento cosa que, una vez más, no se puede decir de Verstappen, que por radio preguntó qué hacían los demás si se había abortado la salida. La carrera, un cúmulo de situaciones. Aparte de lo anteriormente comentado, en el primer episodio se habla de la lucha de Lawson contra Pérez y la inquina por parte del neozelandés contra el mexicano, al que se rumorea que podría quitar el asiento… aunque tendrá que mejorar mucho aún para eso. También se hablará del VSC por las condiciones de la pista. ¿Fue adecuado o una ventaja para quienes iban primeros y no habían parado? ¿Y qué decir de la bandera roja por el accidente de Colapinto? ¿No hubiera bastado un simple coche de seguridad? Siempre se dice que las carreras se ganan en la pista y se pierden en los boxes… Las paradas en boxes son arriesgadas y peligrosas y puede pasar de todo: Son frecuentes los incendios, los atropellos, las ruedas o piezas que salen volando, las colisiones… ¡más el tiempo que se pierde! ¿Qué no es para tanto? Aquí te traemos unos ejemplos… ¡No podíamos dejar de visitar los boxes en un vídeo de Garaje Hermético! Y es que es uno de los sitios más peligrosos que hay en un circuito para la integridad física, y os lo puedo decir de primera mano y donde se decide la suerte de numerosas carreras. En mis primeros años como aficionado -en los años 70- la línea de boxes era un hervidero de gente en cualquier carrera. Todo el que “era alguien” en el mundillo se concentraba allí, además de vendedores de helados, guardias civiles y espontáneos en general que habían conseguido un “pase”. Durante una carrera de la Copa Renault en el circuito del Jarama, dos coches colisionaron en la recta y un R5 Copa entró en boxes haciendo trompos, llevándose todo lo que tenía por delante. Aquel día murieron dos personas. Unos años después, durante unas “3 Horas Renault” presencié en directo cómo se repostaba con cubos de gasolina y embudos: había más combustible en el suelo que dentro de los coches... Aunque la Fórmula 1 se lleva la palma en el ranking accidentes es sólo porque es la categoría automovilística con mayor cobertura. Porque el mayor accidente en boxes de la historia corresponde a las 24 Horas de Le Mans. En 1955 se registraron más de 80 muertos y cientos de heridos cuando el Jaguar D de Hawthorn entró directamente en su box, frenando en medio de la recta. Detrás se produjo la colisión y la famosa tragedia de Pierre Levegh. Los incendios fueron muy habituales, por ejemplo. Hasta los años 80 siempre se repostó con manguera o con embudo y latas de gasolina. En EE.UU. siempre han ido un paso por delante en esto de la seguridad en boxes. Para empezar, no tienen boxes, sino un muro tras el que está todo el mundo hasta que el coche para delante. En la NASCAR se reposta con un depósito especial. En la Indy, hace muchas décadas que se emplea el metanol como combustible. Tiene de bueno que se puede apagar con un simple cubo de agua y el inconveniente de que la llama es transparente y no se ve. Con todo el peligro que ello supone –repostar durante la carrera- la Fórmula 1 adoptó el proceso para dar espectáculo durante los años 90. En cada parada, una veintena de mecánicos se abalanzaban sobre el monoplaza para llenar el depósito y cambiar las cuatro ruedas en menos de cinco segundos. El incidente más famoso lo protagonizó Jos Verstappen (el padre del campeón del mundo actual) en el G.P. de Alemania de 1994. La boquilla salió del depósito antes de tiempo y roció a coche, piloto y mecánicos. Cuando la gasolina tocó los escapes, todo se convirtió en una bola de fuego. Menos mal que fue poca cantidad y se sofocó rápidamente. Otro riesgo era arrancar antes de que se desconectara la manguera… En 2008, Felipe Massa se la llevó unida al Ferrari en el G.P. de Singapore, aunque peor fue lo de Kimi Räikkönen al año siguiente –cuando pilotaba para McLaren- que no sólo se la llevó, sino que roció todo su contenido al coche que le seguía por la calle de boxes, el Ferrari de Kovalainen, que de repente se vio envuelto en llamas. En 2010 la Fórmula 1 prohibió los repostajes en carrera, pero no los cambios de neumáticos han seguido vigentes desde entonces y, a veces, las tuercas no quieren fijarse… En ocasiones las ruedas salen disparadas como misiles y barren todo lo que hay en su camino. Pero lo que más miedo da en boxes son los atropellos. Un pie fuera de sitio, medio metro más allá de la raya… y sales volando. Los pilotos entran y salen de boxes fuera de sí. Sólo son conscientes de que están perdiendo tiempo. Si los incendios, los encontronazos, los atropellos y las piezas sueltas no fueran suficientes peligros en boxes, ahora llega ¡la electricidad! Sí, los nuevos coches híbridos dotados de batería de alto voltaje añaden un peligro más a las paradas en boxes. La nueva moda de la “hibridación” es un pretexto ecologista más que una ayuda real al automovilismo. De hecho, no aporta más que problemas. Cualquier cortocircuito puede ser mortal o causar graves lesiones. Nos siguen gustando las paradas en boxes. Son parte del ADN de las carreras. Siempre hay que mejorar los protocolos y las medidas de seguridad, pero es un elemento de azar que se añade a las vueltas rápidas en la pista. Además es el principal ingrediente de la estrategia de un equipo, donde se diferencian los buenos de los malos. Coche del día. He elegido el Garbí con el que corrí las 3 horas del Jarama… en una de las paradas en boxes no se sujetó el capó… ¡y lo perdimos!

A tempestade que banhou a região de Marina Bay na manhã deste domingo (2), noite no horário local, deu o primeiro sinal do que seria um GP de Singapura problemático. E assim foi, com muitos problemas, batidas e atrasos. Mas uma coisa mudou somente na largada: a liderança. Sergio Pérez tomou a ponta de Charles Leclerc na primeira curva e nem foi ameaçado pela maior parte da prova. Vitória do mexicano, a segunda da temporada 2022.Pérez partiu realmente muito bem, com velocidade de reação bem maior que a do pole Leclerc. No sábado, após a classificação, dissera estar em posição de ataque com relação ao rival, e foi o que fez. Atacou, tomou e, embora não tenha sumido na frente, jamais permitiu recuperação, mesmo em meio às intervenções do safety-car. Houve uma breve briga após a última entrada do safety-car, mas o mexicano saiu vencedor.Faltou força da Ferrari para conseguir atacar a Red Bull. Numa pista em que ultrapassar é bastante complicado, talvez ficar na frente fosse suficiente para sair com a vitória, mas a largada de Pérez impossibilitou que isso acontecesse. Leclerc ficou mesmo em segundo, seguido por Carlos Sainz. O espanhol tomou o terceiro lugar também na largada, após duelo com Lewis Hamilton, e mal apareceu no restante da corrida.Foi uma corrida de recorde. Fernando Alonso chegou à largada #351 e superou o número de Kimi Räikkönen, tornando-se o piloto mais longevo da história da categoria. O dia de comemoração era bom para ele, que segurava o quinto lugar impossibilitando os ataques de Max Verstappen, até o carro parar sozinho e forçar o abandono.O Mundial de Fórmula 1 continua já na próxima semana, entre os dias 7 e 9 de outubro, em Suzuka, com o GP do Japão.

Am Sonntag startet der Zirkus mit dem Rennen in Bahrain, dort, wo vor 2 Wochen auch getestet wurde. Wir werfen heute den Blick voraus auf die anstehende Saison! Moderator Kevin Scheuren begrüßt dazu Christian Nimmervoll, Chefredakteur von motorsport-total.com, formel1.de und de.motorsport.com, sowie Lisa Höfer aus der RTL-Sportredaktion zu einer Unterhaltung über alle Teams, allen Fahrern, Teamdirektoren, Performance-Ziele und Potenzial für die Saison. Im letzten Kapitel gibt es eine Einschätzung zur Netflix-Doku "Drive to Survive" mit Spoilern, die könnt ihr aber theoretisch auch überspringen! Unten rum wirds eng für Haas und Williams Allen ist klar, dass die rote Laterne entweder in die USA zu Gene Haas oder nach Großbritannien zum Team Williams geht. Wer hat aber dann doch die besseren Karten und warum? Welchen Einfluss haben die Personalentscheidungen von Jost Capito bei Williams, der immer mehr VW-Vertraute ins Boot holt? Was kann man von Mick Schumacher im Teamduell mit Nikita Mazepin bei Haas erwarten und ist Günther Steiner der richtige Teamchef für zwei Rookies? Immerhin untereinander könnte es sehr spannend werden! Großes Mittelfeld, Alfa Romeo fällt evtl. etwas ab Im Mittelfeld balgen sich Alfa Romeo, AlphaTauri, Alpine, Ferrari, Aston Martin und McLaren um die guten Plätze in der Konstrukteurswertung. Ihr seht, das ist ein sehr großes Feld, wo es hoch hergehen wird. Es gab einige Fahrerwechsel, aber auch Beständigkeit. Es gibt neue Teamnamen, aber vielleicht alte Probleme. Es gibt einen Sebastian Vettel in einem Auto, das ihn zum Erfolg führen kann, wenn es denn hält. Und es gibt Alfa Romeo mit Kimi Räikkönen, der zwar nicht müde wird, aber es dennoch nur schwer ins vordere Mittelfeld schaffen kann. Wer setzt sich dort durch? Wer macht das Rennen, Red Bull oder Mercedes? Wenn es um die WM geht, dann haben die meisten Beobachter*innen und Expert*innen Red Bull und Mercedes auf dem Schirm. Auch unsere drei Beobachter*innen fassen es so zusammen. Aber gibt es Spannungselemente, die man vielleicht so noch gar nicht auf dem Schirm hat? Kann Valtteri Bottas mit einem erfolgreichen Update punkten? Welche Rolle wird Sergio Perez spielen? Esta vez nos centramos en la etapa más oscura de su paso por la Fórmula 1, la tensa temporada 2007 al volante de un McLaren. El equipo con uno de los dos mejores coches de la parrilla y, seguramente, la mejor alineación de pilotos, no fue capaz de conseguir ningún título ese año. Hablamos la batalla Ferrari vs. McLaren, de la tensa relación entre Alonso y Hamilton, de las prioridades de McLaren ese año, de Ron Dennis, de Max Mosley, del título de Kimi Räikkönen... y todo esto sazonado por el Spygate, el mayor escándalo de espionaje corporativo vivido dentro de la Fórmula 1.
