E' questo tipo di amore che Il Signore nutre verso ciascuno di noi.---CLICCA SUL TITOLO PER ASCOLTARE IL MESSAGGIOTempo di lettura: 6 minuti Tempo di ascolto audio/visione video: 21 minutiDurante una breve vacanza in Bretagna, siamo stati ospiti di una nostra amica: Regine è francese, ma i suoi genitori, entrambi erano italiani, costretti a fuggire in Francia dalle persecuzioni di Mussolini.Regine abita in Bretagna, ma ha anche una casa a Parigi; lei dice gli serva per continuare il suo lavoro, ma a mio avviso (e anche per mia moglie) il vero motivo, quello più grande almeno, è di poter visitare sua sorella.Sua sorella è ricoverata da molto tempo in una casa di cura nel “reparto speciale”, ovvero quello dove gli ammalati non escono né potranno uscire mai più: il motivo, è una forma di Alzheimer devastante.Regine ci raccontava che, quando sua sorella ha cominciato a comprendere che stava dimenticando tutto, ha cominciato a scrivere sui muri di casa, in tutte le stanze, le cose che voleva ricordare, quelle preziose... Il suo nome, la sua data di nascita, i nomi delle sue figlie, quelli dei suoi genitori, quello di Regine... la sorella amata...A questo punto della malattia, la sorella non conosce più nessuno, non parla più... solo sorride quando vede sua figlia... ma della sorella amata, di Regine... non c'è più memoria...Ma Regine, nonostante questo, ogni settimana la va a trovare, sta lì con lei, la accompagna nei giardini... e poi la saluta,  senza ricevere alcun segno di gratitudine  o di affetto in cambio.Come è possibile amare chi non ti riconosce più, chi ti tratta male, chi rifiuta di parlarti? Come è possibile un amore che ami, nonostante tutto?Semplicemente lo si fa, perché ci si ricorda di come era la persona amata, di quanto ella valga per noi, nonostante la malattia.Regine è credente, e di sicuro sa che la nostra situazione di umani è esattamente quella che lei sta vivendo dove noi siamo la sorella ammalata e lei la sorella premurosa, che continua ad amare senza se e senza ma... perché si ricorda di come eravamo...Per quanto noi possiamo fuggire distanti, lui è là... distante di un passo, pronto a nutrirci, al fianco nostro.Il Salmo 121descrive in una maniera sublime la presenza di questo Dio al fianco nostro anche quando noi siamo distanti: leggiamolo assieme:“1 Alzo gli occhi verso i monti... Da dove mi verrà l'aiuto? 2 Il mio aiuto viene dal Signore, che ha fatto il cielo e la terra. 3 Egli non permetterà che il tuo piede vacilli; colui che ti protegge non sonnecchierà. 4 Ecco, colui che protegge Israele non sonnecchierà né dormirà. 5 Il Signore è colui che ti protegge; il Signore è la tua ombra; egli sta alla tua destra. 6 Di giorno il sole non ti colpirà, né la luna di notte. 7 Il Signore ti preserverà da ogni male; egli proteggerà l'anima tua. 8 Il Signore ti proteggerà, quando esci e quando entri, ora e sempre. (Salmo 121:1-8)“Da dove mi verrà l'aiuto?” (v. 1)Ti sei mai trovato lì, ti sei mai trovata lì, a girare gli occhi attorno a te  e quello che vedi, la situazione attorno, sono come montagne che ti circondano e ti sovrastano, e tu sei al centro?La parola che egli usa in ebraico per aiuto è עֵזֶר ‘êzer,  che proviene dal verbo azar, che significa “circondare, cingere”. Quando sono circondato da qualcosa più alto e più forte di me, quello che mi occorre è qualcosa di ancora più forte, che mi circondi, mi avvolga, come facevo  con i miei figli piccoli  quando avevano un incubo di notte; li cingevo con un braccio,  per dirgli :”non temere, ci sono qua io”.“Il mio aiuto viene dal Signore, che ha fatto il cielo e la terra” (v. 2)Talvolta ci vuole di essere circondati e indifesi per riscoprire che Dio è onnipotente, che può fare qualsiasi cosa... quasi... quasi qualsiasi cosa...“Egli non permetterà che il tuo piede vacilli; colui che ti protegge non sonnecchierà.” (v. 3)Perché, anche se è onnipotente, ci sono alcune cose che NON può fare: non può mentire, non può smettere di amarti, non può smettere di cercarti... E il salmo aggiunge altre due cose che dio NON può fare: Egli NON può permettere che tu vacilli Egli NON si riposa mai...“Il Signore è colui che ti protegge; il Signore è la tua ombra; egli sta alla tua destra.” (v. 5)Un tempo non si viaggiava in macchina, ma a piedi. Le strade non erano posti molto sicuri, dovevi guardarti le spalle, e dovevi essere pronto ad usare la spada,  o qualsiasi  altra arma con la destra.Immaginati in mezzo ad una strada, da solo o da sola: chi ti protegge? Il salmista dice che, se guardi in terra, quella che vedi non è la tua ombra, ma quella di Dio, che viaggia assieme a te, e che l'arma che hai alla tua destra, lui la controlla e la guida.E'  un linguaggio simbolico,  non sarà Dio ad uscire fuori dall'ombra “fisicamente”, mani e piedi,  se qualcuno ti attacca... perché già lo ha fatto, fisicamente, attraverso un uomo che si chiama Gesù.Ed è tramite Gesù, tramite lo Spirito Santo che egli ha mandato dopo essere asceso al cielo che la sua presenza non sarà per un solo viaggio, ma per tutti i viaggi della tua vita: Difatti il salmista aggiunge:“Di giorno il sole non ti colpirà, né la luna di notte.” (v. 6)Che sia giorno o che sia notte, tu sarai protetto, sarai protetta... Quale è la  parte “nobile” ,  quella più importante di tutte che proteggerà il Signore?“Il Signore ti preserverà da ogni male; egli proteggerà l'anima tua” (v. 7)La parola tradotta con  “preserverà” ,  in ebraico è שָׁמַר šâmar  che letteralmente significa “mettere un recinto di spine”; era quello che i pastori mettevano attorno alle greggi per proteggerle dalle belve durante la notteQuesto significa che non ci ammaleremo mai, che tutti i nostri affari prospereranno, che non avremo mai problemi in famiglia, eccetera, vero?Certamente... certamente no! Si, ci potranno essere  liberazioni miracolose,  guarigioni miracolose...ma non sempre, perché a Dio interessa non tanto “l'involucro” il corpo ma ciò che contiene, l'anima.Anche i credenti si ammalano, anche i credenti (e soprattutto i credenti) vengono perseguitati, anche i credenti muoiono, ma quello cui puoi star certo, è che il suo amore per te non finirà mai.Paolo afferma:“Chi ci separerà dall'amore di Cristo? … Sono convinto che niente potrà mai separarci dal suo amore. Né la morte, né la vita, né gli angeli, né i capi spirituali, né il presente, né il futuro né le potenze demoniache   e neppure le altezze o le profondità, nessuna cosa che Dio ha creato sarà mai capace di separarci dall'amore che Dio ci ha mostrato in Gesù Cristo, nostro Signore! (Romani 8:35a, 38-39 PV)Com'è la tua vita, in questo momento?  C'è una guerra imminente o possibile che non puoi evitare?  Stai scrutando i monti attorno ad essa perché senti,  o sai che eserciti si stanno ammassando dietro di essi per attaccarti e distruggerti?Affida  la difesa a Colui  che solo può cingere la tua vita di mura inespugnabili. Dal Vangelo di oggi: «Voi siete di quaggiù, io sono di lassù; voi siete di questo mondo, io non sono di questo mondo. Vi ho detto che morirete nei vostri peccati; se infatti non credete che io sono, morirete nei vostri peccati».         (Gv 8: 23-26)Queste parole di Gesù risuonano nel profondo del mio cuore. Alzo una preghiera a tale proposito. Chiedo a Dio di non permettere che io muoia nel mio peccato. Infatti morire nei propri peccati è un'immagine chiara che spiega il concetto di rimanere impantanati, bloccati nelle cose che si vivono. Il peccato è ciò che blocca la vita, e molto spesso proprio in questa esperienza di blocco la vita comincia ad assomigliare a un pantano d'acqua che non trovando acqua di ricambio comincia a diventare marcia. L'infelicità è vita andata a male. Ciò accade quando viviamo solo in un'unica dimensione che è quella di questo mondo. Gesù è venuto a darci non solo altezza e larghezza alla vita ma soprattutto profondità. La vita in Cristo è ciò che dà spessore, profondità alla vita. quando manchiamo di questa terza dimensione tutto risulta piatto e proprio perché è così non riesce più a farci sentire vivi. Siamo appunto morti in ciò che ci mortifica. Come si fa ad uscire da questo pantano? Cos'è che ci salva? È la Croce di Cristo: «Quando avrete innalzato il Figlio dell'uomo, allora saprete che Io Sono e non faccio nulla da me stesso, ma come mi ha insegnato il Padre, così io parlo”. Nelle sibilline parole di Gesù ci sono due cose che non possiamo trascurare: da una parte l'esperienza dell'innalzamento coincide con la sua morte in croce, cioè con l'esperienza di dare la vita per ciascuno di noi. Soltanto quando ci lasciamo raggiungere dal mistero di questo amore allora la nostra vita riprende a scorrere, esattamente come capita a una persona che vive una cosa difficile ma se si sente amata riesce ad andare avanti. ⭐ EPISODIO 8 - LE REGOLE DEL BOSCO ⭐ Sento il rumore dell'acqua. Ormai manca poco, ci siamo quasi! Corro ancora più velocemente. Da un momento all'altro vedrò sicuramente il fiume, ne sono sicura. Ma all'improvviso c'è qualcosa davanti a me. E io ovviamente gli vado addosso. Ahia! Alzo lo sguardo e vedo zampe lunghe ed eleganti, un muso lungo e sottile e delle grandi corna maestose. E pericolose. Faccio subito un passo indietro. «Mi scusi, non l'ho vista…» «Non sa che deve dare la precedenza a destra?» dice il cervo con sguardo severo. Dietro di lui appaiono una grande cerva e un piccolo cerbiatto. «E sicuramente ha superato il limite di velocità!» aggiunge lui. «Devo forse chiamare la polizia?» Precedenza a destra? Limite di velocità? Polizia? Ma cosa sta dicendo, non siamo mica in città! «Caro, non credo che siano di qui» dice la cerva. «Devono essere turisti. Forse sono stranieri.» I cervi ci guardano con diffidenza. «Sì esatto, chiami la polizia» dice Cody un po' irritato. «C'è stato un incidente al fiume. Ora scusateci, dobbiamo andare, siamo di fretta» E senza aggiungere altro, Cody corre via e io lo seguo senza esitare. «Hey!» urla il cervo, ma noi non ci fermiamo. Certo che il bosco è pieno di animali strani... chissà se quel cervo chiamerà davvero la polizia. E chi è la polizia del bosco? Mi immagino un gufo vestito da poliziotto... Ma non ho più tempo per riflettere sulle stranezze del bosco: finalmente abbiamo raggiunto il fiume.

Neben Rätselraterei zocken wir unverfroren eine Runde "Singel-a-Song" und versuchen Lieder zu erraten, die wir im Vorfeld in kindliches Englisch übersetzt haben. Frohlockend watscheln wir, ohne jemanden auf der Party Bescheid gesagt zu haben, unserem Lo'schen Abgang entgegen und gleiten, sanfte Wellen schlagend, mit der Gang im Schlauchboot hinter uns, Richtung Sonnenuntergang, der heute mal wieder in den Farben unsere Aperol-Spritz gekleidet zu sein scheint. ⭐ EPILOGO ⭐ Kira La luce del sole mi sveglia. Non apro subito gli occhi, è così comodo qui, sotto queste coperte calde. Potrei dormire ancora un po'... Ma poi mi alzo di scatto. Padroncina! Cody mi guarda e mi sorride. «Non ti preoccupare, Padroncina sta bene. Ha passato alcune ore in ospedale, ma ora è di nuovo a casa e sta riposando.» Io mi tranquillizzo. «Che... Che cosa è successo?» chiedo un po' confusa. «Dovrei chiederlo a te!» dice Cody un po' arrabbiato. «Perché tu e Padroncina non eravate a casa? Per fortuna Pasquale ed io vi abbiamo trovato in tempo!» Ma certo, Pasquale, le uova… ora ricordo. «Quindi ci avete salvato con la slitta di Babbo Natale? Il piano ha funzionato?» «Sì esatto. Babbo Natale ha prestato la slitta a Pasquale per consegnare le uova. Ma per fortuna ho chiesto a Pasquale di passare un attimo da casa. Siccome non c'era nessuno, vi abbiamo cercato e vi abbiamo trovato in un burrone. Eravate entrambe svenute e vi abbiamo portato subito all'ospedale.» Io annuisco. Meno male che erano arrivati in tempo... «A proposito, guarda un po'!» dice Cody indicando la finestra. Io rimango a bocca aperta. Fuori splende il sole! Che meraviglia! Corro alla finestra e guardo fuori. Le persone escono, si salutano e si abbracciano, i bambini giocano a palle di neve e cercano le uova in giardino. Il bianco della neve è meraviglioso illuminato dal sole. Poi noto che qualcuno si avvicina al nostro cancello: i genitori di Padroncina, i nonni e anche Amicone. Corriamo fuori a salutarli. Benvenuti! Che bello vedervi! abbaiamo Cody ed io. «Ciao Kira! Ciao Cody! Siamo venuti a trovare la vostra padroncina. È già sveglia?» Io corro in camera a vedere come sta. Sta dormendo tranquilla e sembra star bene. Le lecco il viso. È caldo e le labbra sono di nuovo normali. Padroncina si sveglia e mi sorride dolcemente. «Buon giorno Kira. Come stai? Grazie per essere venuta a cercarmi ieri» dice accarezzandomi la testa. Certo che sono venuta a cercarti! Proteggerti è il mio lavoro! Lentamente, Padroncina si alza, si veste e dà il benvenuto agli ospiti. La nonna tossisce un po', ma sembra star bene. Padroncina era riuscita a portarle le medicine, per fortuna. Tutti hanno portato qualcosa da mangiare e mentre il pranzo si scalda usciamo a cercare le uova. È divertente cercare le uova nella neve! Facciamo anche un coniglietto di neve e gli mettiamo una bella carota in bocca. Che buffo! Dopo pranzo mangiamo la colomba, il dolce tipico di Pasqua, e poi apriamo il grande uovo di Pasqua che Amicone ha regalato a Padroncina. All'interno c'è un'elegante collana con un ciondolo a forma di coniglietto. Padroncina è molto contenta e ringrazia Amicone che la aiuta subito a indossarla. Dopo il dolce vado fuori in giardino insieme a Cody a godermi il bel sole. «Kira, Cody!» Eh? Chi ci chiama? Mi guardo in giro, ma non vedo nessuno. «Quassù!» Alzo lo sguardo. Pasquale ci saluta sporgendosi dalla slitta. «Sono riuscito a consegnare tutte le uova!» esclama sorridente. «Avete trovato le vostre? Ora torno al Polo Nord per riportare la slitta a Babbo Natale, ma che ne dite di fare un giretto prima?» «Ma certo!» esclamiamo Cody ed io all'unisono. E così saliamo sulla slitta e voliamo nel cielo azzurro insieme al coniglietto pasquale. Che Pasqua davvero bizzarra! Buona Pasqua a tutti! Etcì! Ah, ho ancora il raffreddore. Lo prometto, nei prossimi giorni resto a casa! ____________

Lisa and I discuss how to overcome the challenges of this research area.  Knowledge of the history of an Eastern European ancestor's country is essential as boundaries changed but ethnic identity remained intact. Locating and getting access to record repositories can be difficult. Hiring an on-site guide/researcher can make a research trip to the old country more efficient and successful. Proper planning increases the satisfaction of heritage traveling to ancestral villages. There is no other book available covering Czech, Slovak and Polish research. Her book fills a real need. What I want you to do is to  is to think about your niche.  Where are the gaps in the area where you provide services? You might need to do some research to see what has already been written. Before you think that your niche is already done, think of your topic in a different way. For example, if you do Colonial New England research maybe  you could focus in on Catholics who came to Colonial New England. Or perhaps write a book about how cemetery research can help with colonial research.  You get the idea. Try to find a way for you to fill a gap in your niche. There could be a book waiting inside of you!
