On Tuesday, the Office of Personnel Management issued a memo instructing agencies to place Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office staff on paid leave and all public DEI-focused web pages must be taken down by 5p EST today. Eventually, these employees are expected to be laid off. This executive order on affirmative action revokes a directive issued by President Lyndon Johnson and limits DEI programs for federal contractors and grant recipients.
