Today we have Camille. She is 36 years old, lives in Montreal, Canada and she took her last drink on April 20th, 2026. This episode is brought to you by: Sign up and get 10% off: Better Help If you're wondering what you can expect in your first seven days alcohol free, check out our FREE 7-day guide. [03:19] Thoughts from Paul: Paul shares with us that his beloved dog Ben has passed away. He credits Ben with not only being a major catalyst for his recovery, but also for saving his life. Ben was a member of the staff at Recovery Elevator retreats and touched many people over the 12 years he was Paul's companion. Paul says his thinking mind has tried to figure out where Ben is now, and after countless thoughts and tears, he always lands in a place of gratitude for the 12 incredible years he was able to share with his dog. The opposite of addiction is connection, and we generally think of other humans when we hear this. But the quote is infinite and definitely includes our connection with animals. [08:18] Paul introduces Camille: Camille is 36 years old and lives in Montreal, Canada. She is a graphic designer for a software company. She lives with her partner, and he has a 9-year-old daughter who they see often. For fun, Camille enjoys sports climbing, crochet, crafting and DIY projects. Camille had her first drink when she was 13 while at boarding school. Her roommate who was 14 was already struggling with alcoholism. In spite of being a "goody two shoes", Camille was occasionally binge drinking with friends. There were several hints that things were getting precarious with her drinking. What sealed the deal Camille says is when she started working at a bar in her early 20s. She worked there for six years. While she did have some fun and met some great people, Camille says she was constantly either drinking or combatting a hangover. Towards the end of her studying, she was getting tired and looking forward to getting out of that scene but wasn't ready to moderate while she was still there. She was good at keeping up the appearance that her drinking wasn't out of control. Even after trading the bartending in for a graphic design job, Camille would still find herself binge drinking to get drunk. She says it was hard to consider it a problem when everyone around her drank too. Gradually the drinking increased to a daily occurrence by the time she was 33. She was just drinking to take the edge off, and Camille began wishing that alcohol was not part of her daily life. She would journal about not wanting to drink for the day but would find herself doing it anyways. It was frustrating feeling so powerless and shameful. Camille first quit drinking in 2025 after running a 5k and recognizing that she was pouring poison into a body that she had just asked to complete a strenuous activity. This stuck with her and she was able to stop drinking for two months. The moderation and exploration of self-awareness began at this point. She attempted to moderate for the rest of 2025. It was after three days of heavy drinking at an all-inclusive vacation that Camille finally said enough is enough. Camille joined a local support group but has not attended AA. She says it helped her feel less alone and believes that the reason we feel that way is because having a problem with alcohol is so shameful that we don't want speak about it. Camille says her drinking stemmed from a lot of desire to be polished and perform well so the alcohol helped her turn it off. Going forward Camille is planning to continue taking actions to solidify her commitment to being alcohol free. She is going to focus on existing as she is and accepting the human experience without covering it up with booze. Camille's parting piece of guidance: You can do this and be forgiving with yourself, be tolerant, give yourself grace. Recovery Elevator You took the elevator down. You've got to take the stairs back up. We can do this. Café RE RE Instagram Sobriety Tracker iTunes RE YouTube

“Is Catholicism a false church?” This question opens a discussion on the validity of Catholicism compared to Eastern Orthodoxy, particularly regarding changes in liturgy and fasting rules. The conversation also addresses whether first-century Christians prayed to saints and explores what Catholics believe about salvation in contrast to the “once saved, always saved” perspective. Join the Catholic Answers Live Club Newsletter Invite our apologists to speak at your parish! Visit Catholicanswersspeakers.com Questions Covered: 04:35 – Considering Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy. If the majority of bishops left the RCC, is that a sign they are a false church? Also, if Catholics changed liturgy/fasting rules while EO have been consistent, is that a sign they are a false church? 20:30 – How to Respond to the claim. Did first-century Christians pray to the saints? My protestant friend says it started in the third century. 31:05 – What do Catholics believe they have to do to be saved, and how do I respond to the once saved always saved belief? What are simple verses to refute that? 42:22 – Agnostic Brother Asked thinks Christianity is too Anthropocentric. He has a hard time believing that the universe was made for human beings primarily. 47:20 – Best Friend and brother want to convert to EO because of the filioque. How can I respond?

Ghislaine Maxwell remained publicly loyal to Prince Andrew throughout the collapse of Jeffrey Epstein's network and the scrutiny that followed. She helped facilitate Andrew's access to Epstein's social circle, hosted him at her London home and was present during key periods later examined by journalists, investigators and civil litigants. Even after Epstein's 2008 conviction, Maxwell continued moving within overlapping social circles connected to Andrew, and she never publicly turned against him as allegations mounted. During her own legal troubles, she avoided offering any public account that would implicate Andrew or clarify disputed episodes involving him, Epstein and Virginia Giuffre. That loyalty continued after Maxwell's conviction. In interviews and statements from prison, she defended Andrew's character, questioned the authenticity of the photograph showing him with Giuffre and Maxwell, and described him in sympathetic terms rather than distancing herself from him. She has never publicly accused Andrew of wrongdoing, never portrayed him as part of Epstein's abuse operation and never provided the kind of detailed testimony that might have placed greater pressure on him. Whatever Maxwell may know about Andrew's relationship with Epstein, her public position has remained consistent: protect the friendship, challenge the evidence against him and refuse to become a witness against him.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Les Wexner's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was not casual, fleeting, or peripheral. It was foundational. Wexner, the billionaire founder of L Brands and longtime head of Victoria's Secret, handed Epstein extraordinary financial authority in the late 1980s, granting him sweeping power of attorney over his fortune—an almost unheard-of concession for a man with no formal wealth management credentials and a murky background. Epstein was not just an adviser; he was embedded. He controlled Wexner's money, managed properties, and reportedly inserted himself into the culture of Wexner's corporate empire, particularly as it related to the Victoria's Secret modeling world that conveniently overlapped with Epstein's trafficking pipeline. The transfer of a Manhattan townhouse—one of the largest private residences in the city—to Epstein for a nominal sum remains one of the most glaring symbols of that patronage. For years, Wexner allowed Epstein to operate under his name and prestige, giving Epstein the legitimacy that opened doors in finance, academia, politics, and philanthropy. Epstein's entire aura of elite credibility can be traced in large part to the halo effect of Wexner's wealth and status. After Epstein's 2006 arrest and especially following the 2019 federal charges, Wexner abruptly attempted to recast himself as a victim—claiming Epstein had betrayed him, stolen from him, and misled him. He publicly severed ties, issued statements of regret, and emphasized that Epstein had been removed from his financial role years earlier. But that narrative strains credibility. Wexner was not an unsophisticated investor duped by a charming con man; he was one of the most powerful retail magnates in America with access to the best legal and financial minds in the world. The idea that Epstein could operate for years under his authority without scrutiny reflects either willful blindness or a level of negligence that borders on complicity. Wexner's late-stage distancing felt less like moral clarity and more like reputational triage once the full scope of Epstein's crimes became undeniable. His patronage built Epstein's empire. His disavowal came only after the empire collapsed in public view.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

The most important part of your surgery isn't plugged in, mounted, or calibrated. It's the person standing beside you. Have you ever dreaded walking into a beautiful practice with lovely patients — purely because of who you share the surgery with? What do you actually do, in the moment, when your assistant rolls their eyes at a request for rubber dam? And should you be friends with your assistant at all — or does that cross a line you'll regret? This is an Interference Cast — a non-clinical but deeply practical episode — with Dr. Sarah Braun, a dentist in Australia and a fellow Protrusive Guidance member who DM'd to suggest this very topic. No course, no book, nothing to sell: just two clinicians comparing notes (and the odd scar) on the one relationship that quietly shapes your whole working life. It sits inside this month's theme of the relationships that support your career. https://youtu.be/OyztRyPpcHM Watch IC075 on YouTube What You'll Take From This Episode The full breakdown is in the Premium Notes; here's the shape of the thinking that runs through the episode: Engagement is the whole game — the assistant relationship sets the mood of the room, the patient's experience, and whether good people stay. Speak their language — appreciation only lands if it's delivered in the form that particular person actually values. Appreciation is a verb — specific, named praise lands far harder than a vague “good job.” Let them, let me — you don't control how someone reacts in the moment; you only control your response to it. Lead the room — dentistry is a performance, and the room takes its emotional cue from whoever is leading it. Hosted by Steven Van Belleghem, Peter Hinssen and Pascal Coppens, this episode takes you deep into Pascal's latest China inspiration tour — from Kimi's AI model beating Claude at a fraction of the cost and Xiaomi's radical 10x philosophy, to BrainCo's mind-controlled prosthetics and T-Cap Tech's flying taxis launching commercially next month. Peter unpacks Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince's Wall Street Journal bombshell on replacing 1,100 "measurers" with AI, and the explosive new buzzword in Silicon Valley: RSI, recursive self-improvement, sparked by Anthropic's own blog post. Steven shares how companionship has become the #1 use case for AI according to HBR's 2026 study, Google's Universal Cart play that puts a bouncer between brands and consumers, and why China's telcos are billing customers by the token. The episode closes with a nexxworks robots tour announcement for November, China's AI-generated micro drama explosion, and Europe's uncomfortable truth: it's not a regulation problem, it's a capital problem.

Send us Fan MailOn the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are really not reading the room with this upcoming wedding. We watched the 1997 film from P.J. Hogan, My Best Friend's Wedding.Sometimes you're the happy, glowing bride, about to marry the person of your dreams. In this case, it's Kimmy and she's marrying hunky Michael, but he needs to get his freaking act together.Sometimes you're the jealous friend of the groom, about to ruin someone's special day for your own selfish reasons. Fear is universal. Every one of us feels it. The question isn't whether fear exists — it's whether you're going to obey it. Tim and Steve tackle one of the most powerful forces shaping our lives: fear. Left unchecked, fear becomes anxiety, self-doubt, procrastination, and missed opportunities. But when disciplined and confronted head-on, fear can become fuel for growth, resilience, courage, and better decision-making. Drawing from years in private investigations and martial arts, they break down how fear drives people in completely different directions. Some allow fear to control their choices. Others use it as a catalyst to become stronger, more capable, and more confident. Tim also shares the powerful story of a donkey trapped in a ditch — a lesson in persistence, grit, and the reality that the very thing burying you today may become the path that sets you free tomorrow. Most importantly, they discuss the role of faith in overcoming fear. Because courage isn't the absence of fear — it's moving forward despite it. In This Episode: Why fear itself isn't the enemy — obedience to fear is How fear turns into anxiety, self-doubt, and inaction The difference between destructive fear and disciplined fear Lessons from the detective world and martial arts training The donkey-in-the-ditch story and what it teaches about perseverance Why faith is one of the most powerful weapons against fear How to face fear, move forward, and help others do the same Fear is coming either way. The question is: will it stop you, or will it sharpen you?

Joseph Osmundson spent years joking about having a baby with his best friend. But one day, she told Joe she was serious about it. Joe was elated. Growing up, he had always wanted to be a father, but he didn't realize how deep that yearning was until the moment their joke became a concrete plan. At the time, Joe had a boyfriend he loved and his best friend was partnered with a woman. It took time, effort, and countless meetings to decide how to conceive and co-parent in a way that would accommodate everyone involved. What the group did not anticipate was how complex their feelings would become once their plan was underway, or that Joe would have to define what parenting meant to him all over again. Joseph Osmundson's book, “Spawning Season: An Experiment in Queer Parenting” is out now.
