The Ag Net News Hour's Lorre Boyer and Nick Papagni, “The AgMeter” discuss tariffs on global markets. Southern California faces a significant drought, despite recent rainfall. Tariffs have led to market downturns, but some see it as an opportunity for strategic investment. Southeast Asian nations, including the Philippines and Vietnam, are negotiating tariff reductions. Japan and South Korea are preparing offers to the U.S. India, with its protectionist trade policies, is open to negotiations. The European Union is divided on its response, with some members like France and Germany advocating for retaliation, while others like Italy and Ireland prefer a measured approach. China is expediting stimulus plans to mitigate consumer uncertainty. California Governor Gavin Newsom has appealed to the USDA to reverse the termination of $47 million in funding for California's Local Food Purchase Assistance Program, which supports farmers and food banks. Nick criticized Newsom's appeal, citing California's $76 billion debt and mismanagement of funds. Nick also highlighted pointed to the inefficiency of government-funded programs, citing examples of misallocated funds and the reliance on local donations for food banks. The discussion emphasized the need for self-reliance and accountability in government spending. The Ag Net News Hour's Nick and Lorrie then discussed the impact of bird flu on various species, including dairy cattle and poultry. The conversation shifted to California Assembly Bill 928, which limits rooster ownership to three per acre or 25 total to combat cockfighting. Nick expressed concern about the bill's potential negative impact on family farmers. The bill includes exemptions for food production, schools, shelters, and non-profit organizations. The hosts also highlighted the importance of prunes, noting that 99% come from California and contribute $160 million annually. They encouraged listeners to attend the Citrus and Specialty Crop Expo in Tampa, Florida, and shared contact information for further engagement.

PAIN @painnonprofit Founder Flindt Andersen and Jason LaChance sat down to discuss California Assembly Bill 3171, authored by Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria to Hold Fentanyl Traffickers Accountable by increasing the punishment for selling more than 28 grams of fentanyl. It escalates the prison sentence from up to four years to up to 9. The bill is as follows: Existing law classifies controlled substances into 5 schedules and places the greatest restrictions and penalties on the use of those substances placed in Schedule I. Existing law classifies the drug fentanyl in Schedule II. Existing law makes possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of sale of the substance punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for a period of 2, 3, or 4 years. Existing law makes transportation and sales of a controlled substances punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for a period of 3, 4, or 5 years and transportation to a noncontiguous county within the state punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for a period of 3, 6, or 9 years. This bill would increase the above-described penalties, as specified, if the controlled substance involved was more than more than 28.35 grams of fentanyl, more than 28.35 grams of an analog of fentanyl, a substance containing more than 28.35 grams of fentanyl, or a substance containing more than 28.35 grams of an analog of fentanyl. By increasing the penalty for a crime, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason. Flindt Andersen and Jason LaChance discuss the following topics and more. We give created to Assemblyman Jim Patterson who has been behind and in support of many bills to combat fentanyl. 01:33 Will this bill have a large impact on the fentanyl crisis? 06:37 Flindt and Jason question why there isn't more resources going towards addiction recovery programs. 14:14 Are we in the "War On Recovery"? 23:02 Are politicians finally gaining a greater understanding of addiction? 29:09 For more on Parents & Addicts In Need: If you or a loved ones need our services, to follow on social media, the Don't Hide The Scars Podcast, to get involved, or to donate https://linktr.ee/painnonprofit For more on Flindt Andersen, to have him speak at your organization visit https://www.flindtandersen.com/ #wedorecover #growth #changeyourlife --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/donthidethescars/message

Episode 203-Proposed California Assembly Bill 957 and the Michigan "Hate Speech" Bill. The proposed California Bill 957 will force Courts to rule in child custody cases according to which parent "affirms" the gender identity of their child. A parent could lose custody of their child if they refuse to go along with the gender confusion of their child. While this case is currently about divorce child custody decisions, it sets the stage for Courts to remove children from intact homes for "child abuse" of not "affirming gender transitioning." And Michigan's House just passed a Bill that revises their "Hate Crimes" Law to include "gender identity", but also can put someone in prison for speech that someone says merely made them "feel" intimidated or threatened. How should Christians respond? Do we blatantly violate these laws?

“Congress has to be the one that appropriates any funds from the treasury. That's the power of the purse that Congress has. And if we lose that, then we'll lose the country, because it has to be the elected representatives. If the executive is self-funding, then there's just no ability to rein that in.”At the Conservative Political Action Conference, we sat down with Mark Chenoweth, President and General Counsel for the New Civil Liberties Alliance, which brings cases against the government when it violates constitutional freedoms. Today, we discuss three major lawsuits he is currently prosecuting. The first is The Cato Institute versus the Department of Education, which argues against Biden's loan forgiveness plan on the basis of lacking statutory authority.“There just isn't explicit language giving the Secretary of Education the ability to cancel the debt of 43 million people and at a cost of over half a trillion dollars,” says Chenoweth. The second case is Missouri versus Biden, which alleges that the Biden administration violated the First Amendment by directing social media companies to censor viewpoints that were in conflict with the government's narrative on COVID-19.“There definitely seems to be a level of communication within the government about how to achieve this goal of censoring people that I think Americans are going to find disturbing,” says Chenoweth. And the third case is Hoeg versus Newsom, which claims that California Assembly Bill 2098 violates the First Amendment rights of medical professionals by intimidating and punishing doctors who dissent from mainstream views, thus interfering in the doctor-patient relationship.“I think of it as the Sovietization of science and medicine because this is the kind of thing you would expect in the Soviet Union under Lysenko, or something like that,” says Chenoweth. “This isn't what you would expect in the United States of America, where we have freedom.” Follow American Thought Leaders on social media:Twitter: https://twitter.com/AmThoughtLeaderTruth Social: https://truthsocial.com/@AmThoughtLeaderGettr: https://gettr.com/user/amthoughtleaderFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/AmericanThoughtLeadersGab: https://gab.com/AmThoughtLeaderTelegram: https://t.me/AmThoughtLeader

It's been awhile since I have spent any time on the topic of Covid and the mRNA vaccines. Today, I find it interesting how the "fact checkers" are more often wrong and tend to shoot down inconvenient truths at the expense of misleading the American public. While instances of sudden, unexplained heart attacks continues to rise without explanation, life insurance actuarials are finding dramatic rises in expected deaths in the 18-64 age range. Because of this, I wanted to dive into some of the information I have been gathering for the last few months. First, to illustrate just how poorly organizations like PolitiFact really know what is fact versus false, we look at one of their employees. Jeff Cercone seems to enjoy towing the narrative of the Biden regime, which includes the CDC and the sainted one, Dr. Fauci. He has no medical background. He's not a doctor. He's not a scientist. He doesn't have any higher education which could give him the tools he would need to be an "expert" on Covid-19 information. Yet, in case after case, Cercone loves to label truths as false, even while providing links that prove the original post to be true. It's amazing to point out just how clueless he is. One has to wonder if fact-checkers are really that inept or are the just doing their best to tow the propaganda line in front of them? It's probably both, but definitely more the latter. Another illustration of what I like to call the 18 month window for fact-checkers to catch up to the rest of us, comes from the Wall Street Journal. In a piece written by Allysia Finley on January 1 of 2023, she writes, "Growing evidence also suggests that repeated vaccinations may make people more susceptible to XBB (the latest Covid-19 variant) and could be fueling the virus's rapid evolution." The piece is entitled, "Are Vaccines Fueling New Covid Variants?" However, if we look back 18 months to June 3, 2021, when the thought was being first discussed about vaccines leading to variants, Reuters stepped in with a huge Fact Check FALSE! They wrote, "There is no evidence that Covid-19 vaccinations have caused the original coronavirus to mutate." Once again, what was labeled as FALSE has turned into current thinking from the scientific community. As if in support of showing how wrong they were 18 months ago and in support of the newest thinking, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky has once again tested positive for Covid. This is one month after she publicly celebrated getting her booster shot. Seems she unwittingly continues to show the world why she and the CDC can no longer be trusted with scientific information. They have become just another tool in the regimes propaganda arsenal. Stacey Lennox with PJ Media just published a piece on January 2, 2023 called, "An Astonishing Percentage of Americans Credit COVID-19 Vaccines for Unexplained Deaths." In it, she not only summarizes recent polling by Rasmussen, but also references some of the very same life insurance actuarial tables we discuss. In a stroke of irony, California Assembly Bill 2098 went into effect at the start of the year. This is the law making the spreading of mis or disinformation about Covid-19 an act of unprofessional conduct. All doctors and surgeons in California now risk losing their license if they fail to tow the state's propaganda line. It seems California prefers to let someone like Fred Cercone decide on medical information, rather than from doctors, researchers and scientists. Finally, in a moment reflective of the current state of the Democrat party, we head to the swearing in of Governor-elect Kattie Hobbs in Arizona. As soon as the word "Constitution" is mentioned, there are giggles, faces made and Hobbs, in Valleygirl-esque fashion, tells them all to stop, while laughing as well. They are on camera literally making a joke out of swearing to uphold and defend our founding documents. Is there anything more illustrative of the Democrat Party than their display? A killer robot might soon be teamed up with police officers. Last year, the California state legislature passed into law California Assembly Bill 481, which requires all police departments in California to conduct an inventory of all military-grade weapons in their possession; requires the police departments to lay out very specific policy instructions on how their officers can use this equipment; and requires the different police departments to resubmit these documents for approval every year in order to continue to use their equipment. To comply with this new law, the different cities in California have been scrambling to put together these documents in order. Last week, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors received, voted on, and approved the San Francisco Police Department's law enforcement equipment policy—and part of this policy includes language that will allow the SFPD to utilize what they call human-controlled robots. ⭕️ Sign up for our NEWSLETTER and stay in touch
What is the vision of American Medicine for the left? California Assembly Bill 2098 lays it out clearly...except it's not actually clear at all from that bill. How the Left-wing medical advocacy "group" No License for Disinformation (NLFD) wants it to be enforced would remove any room for dissenting voices in the scientific, and specifically medical science communities. Today's show continues to demonstrate the modern Democrat party is the party of Authoritarianism. The idea of authoritarianism is where the masses blindly follow the mandates of the state, while the state implements suppression of individual thought, opinion or action. Just looking back since the start of Covid, is there any question the current policies of the Left are trying to achieve that end? Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has decided the current party has long since left her behind and she is no longer going to be part of it. She said she could not keep supporting a war-mongering party bent on wokeness and the rejection of our Constitutional Republic. Basically, she does not support the rapid and rising tide toward Authoritarianism. Another example is Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) just signed California Assembly Bill 2098 into law, making it the first state to attempt to censor what physicians can say about Covid-19 to their patients. While grotesquely unconstitutional, until it is challenged, any doctor found to be spreading mis- dis- or mal-information per California's General Assembly, can find themselves losing their medical license to practice medicine. If this isn't a clear-cut example of rising authoritarianism, I don't know what is. While California is trying to still control the narrative around Covid, we find the European Parilament is questioning a Pfizer director about whether or not the vaccine was tested to see if it would stop transmission. Turns out, they never test that. How many millions were convinced to take the vaccine, not for themselves, but for the guilt they were told about passing it to others if they did not. It turns out, that was a great big lie meant to achieve conformity. But, in California, if you were to bring up this fact, you may lose your license for going against the will of the State. Another example relates to two of the members of the FBI team who worked with Facebook to get them to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020. Turns out, two of the principles just so happened to be Democrat donors. So, while we would normally expect our civil servants in law enforcement to use "the law" as their measuring stick, it turns out some agents choose party politics instead. And Democrats are always trying to sell themselves as the party of the working person – the party of the low-to-middle class employee. So, let's look at a breaking story from Atlanta, where the chruch that pays Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) a monthly housing stipend of $7,417. This same church has been found filing eviction notices on people for falling behind in rent, some for as little as $28.55. You heard that correctly. Raphael Warnock gets $89,000 a year to help with his mortgage, while people how are less than $100 short are being thrown onto the street. Today's Democrat party is not the party of JFK or even of Bill Clinton. Today's Leftists want an Authoritarian regime where they do not want freedom of thought, freedom of expression or freedom of action, because allowing that would risk them losing their power over the people. Finally, we get to a new episode of Deep Thoughts with VP Kamala Harris as she tries to convince us our children are owned by the state and then somehow links that to the climate crisis. I don't pretend to understand it, but it does remind us that elections have consequences and we are still reeling from the lunacy of 2020. Have you ever been out in public and needed a toilet — but there wasn't one available? This has happened to everyone who lives with an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis), which is why so many of us have “bathroom accident” stories. Needing to use the bathroom is a basic human need, but it's treated like an afterthought. That's where the Restroom Access Act comes into play: a law passed in several states that allows people to request access to a toilet when they live with certain conditions. There is no such law currently in California. That's hopefully going to change thanks to the efforts of Ashlyn Saltzburg and Kelly Silk. Ashlyn is a teenager living with IBD and Kelly is her mom. Their effort to get a law passed in California is nothing short of heroic. Learn about how they got started on this journey to have the Restroom Access Act passed in California, and how you can help. California Assembly Bill 71 would have made major changes to how California taxes foreign income, including a thinly-veiled attempt to get multinationals to elect worldwide combination. It looks like the bill will not pass this session, but the policies may not be entirely dead. Questions & Comments: mhunsaker@bakerlaw.com bakerlaw.com/matthunsaker
This week on The Good Dog Pod, we are joined by our very own Cat Matloub, Esq. who is the Head of Partnerships at Good Dog. Cat is a trained attorney, and works with the rest of the Good Dog Legal Team on educating breeders about canine legislation around the country. Recent government overreach into the breeder's home is a topic that continues to impact the average dog owner. Cat mentions that the legislation being passed does stem from having good intentions, but the individuals drafting those legislations are not informed on responsible breeding practices. The results are ultimately harmful to breeders who are engaging in responsible breeding practices, to the extent that many good breeders are pushed out of the system. When good breeders are exiting the system, and the bad actors become more prominent, we have less healthy dogs being bred. Laura emphasizes that there are indeed good breeders out there. Laura mentions her powerful conversation with Patti Strand, who is the President of the National Animal Interest Alliance. A specific piece of legislation is taking form in California. In California, if you are selling more than 20 dogs a year, or having more than 3 litters, you are already regulated to a certain degree. Much of what this new bill does is duplicative, but extends it to people who might have only one dog or cat, and choose to breed that dog or cat. The bill is called the Pet Breeder Humane Care Act, but Patti dubbed it as the Humane Breeder Elimination Act or the Breed Extinction Act of 2021. There is already a shortage of dogs, so the need for this bill is non-existent. California receives most of the dogs from out of state or out of country, so the argument that the bill is making is extremely weak. We now shift gears back to Cat, who talks about Good Dog's position with regards to the animal legislation taking place in California. Good Dog's position is grounded on our mission to unite dog breeders around the country, and to educate the public about the importance of dog breeders. Good Dog does not support the California Assembly Bill 702 nor any of the other overreaching and anti-breeding legislation. We encourage anyone who is a dog lover, dog owner, dog breeder, past dog owner to reach out to your state representative if you are in California, or Georgia, and talk to them or send them a letter. In our Legal Resource Center, http://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-legal-resource-center (www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-legal-resource-center), we have sample talking points and letters that you can use, as well as other useful documents. We encourage you to spread the word, and speak up!
