Maureen Teeuwen is actrice. Ze studeerde in 1985 af aan de Toneelschool in Amsterdam en speelde daarna voor verschillende gezelschappen. Eerst als vaste actrice bij Mug met de Gouden Tand en Maatschappij Discordia, later als freelancer bij onder andere Oostpool en het Nationale Toneel. Teeuwen was te zien in de televisieseries ‘Hertenkamp', ‘TV7' en ‘Koppensnellers', maar ook in voorstellingen als ‘Het Vlot', waarin ze haar eigen jeugdherinneringen naar het toneel bracht. In 2018 won ze een Colombina voor haar rol in ‘Dumas/La Dame/DeSade'. Nu is Teeuwen te zien in ‘Family', een voorstelling die vanuit een queer-perspectief een verhaal vertelt over het hebben van en het zoeken naar een familie. Theater is de kunst van de illusie - en dat is het hoorspel ook. Een komediant laat het publiek geloven dat hij een God is of een Duivel. Er is geen woord van waar, en toch gelooft u hem, zolang het verhaal duurt...In dit eerste deel van De Komedianten van de Bastille stelt Molière zich aan u voor als de Man met het Masker, het slachtoffer van de Zonnekoning... Waarom werd hij opgesloten in de Bastille? En hoezo... stierf hij dan niet op het podium, in 1673, toen hij een ingebeelde zieke speelde? Want we schrijven 1703, wanneer Frankrijks misschien wel grootste toneelschrijver en acteur is overleden, maar niet voor hij een allerlaatste keer zijn levensverhaal vertelt. Het slotakkoord, tevens de reden voor zijn opsluiting, heeft te maken met het grootste criminele schandaal uit de lange regering van Lodewijk XIV. Honderden hovelingen werden beschuldigd van vergiftiging en hekserij. Zelfs madame de Montespan, zijn favoriete minnares, zou de koning een brouwsel toegediend hebben om hem voor altijd aan haar te binden... En het gerucht wil dat Molière in zijn laatste levensdagen gewerkt zou hebben aan een toneelstuk dat de draak stak met deze moorddadige adellijke klucht in de hoogste kringen...  Is Molière dan werkelijk de Man met het IJzeren Masker geweest? In werkelijkheid was dat masker van de historische Man met het IJzeren Masker er trouwens eentje van zwart fluweel. Het is de populaire verbeelding die het "verijzerd" heeft. Hoe dan ook, met Dottore, Colombina, Pantalone aan zijn zijde - de bekendste figuren uit de Commedia dell'Arte - speelt deze Arlecchino het verhaal van zijn leven.  De scènes die hij samen met zijn Komedianten opvoert in de gevangenis van de Bastille zijn nu eens macaber, dan weer komisch of poëtisch. Lotte Dunselman is actrice en artistiek leider. Van 2004 tot 2020 was zij samen met Anna Schoen artistiek leider van tgECHO. Voor haar rol in Volpone, door Dood Paard, ontving zij in 2017 de Colombina. Voor de rol van Anna in De Poolse Bruid van het Noord Nederlands Toneel en tgECHO werd ze in 2020 genomineerd voor de Theo d'Or. Ze is nu artistiek leider van Mevrouw Ogterop Producties, een theatergezelschap dat eigenzinnige voorstellingen vanuit Meppel maakt. Nu staan ze in de theaters met de voorstelling 'De eeuwige jachtvelden', waar Dunselman zelf in meespeelt. Een verhaal over je (n)ergens thuis voelen dat gebaseerd is op de succesvolle roman van Nanne Tepper (1962-2012). Femke van der Laan gaat met Lotte Dunselman in gesprek.

Lineke Rijxman is actrice, regisseur en schrijfster. Ze speelde in talloze series en films, waaronder ‘Alle Tijd' en ‘Gebroken spiegels'. Voor beide rollen werd zij genomineerd voor een Gouden Kalf. Ook won zij de Colombina voor de beste vrouwelijke bijrol in ‘Quality Time' en de Theo d'Or voor de beste vrouwelijke hoofdrol in ‘Hannah en Martin'. Verder was ze dertien jaar lang onderdeel van het vaste ensemble van Toneelgroep Amsterdam en onderdeel van het artistieke team van Mugmetdegoudentand. Questa festa è molto antica. Ha origini greche e latine. Infatti, grazie a questi due popoli, gli italiani festeggiano il carnevale, mettendosi delle maschere. Le maschere rappresentano vizi e virtù degli uomini e quindi sono tante e diverse. La maschera più famosa è quella di Arlecchino. Originaria di Bergamo e con un vestito molto colorato, rappresenta un servo imbroglione e sciocco. Le sue virtù sono l'immaginazione e la fantasia. Un' altra maschera famosa si chiama Colombina, che viene da Venezia. Colombina dice tante bugie ed è molto vanitosa, ma ha anche alcune virtù: l'allegria e la vivacità. Ha il grembiule a balze con un grosso fiocco. L'ultima delle tre maschere più famose è Pulcinella. Lui pensa positivo, ma il suo più grande vizio è di raccontare i segreti alle persone. Tutti i bambini, in questo periodo, si vestono con le tipiche maschere, come Arlecchino e Colombina, ma non solo, perché anche i supereroi e le principesse diventano i protagonisti della festa. A carnevale si mangiano tanti dolci, soprattutto il Martedì Grasso, l'ultimo giorno di carnevale. Dopo la festa di carnevale, inizia un periodo molto importante per i cattolici: la quaresima. Questa festività rappresenta un periodo di quaranta giorni, dove la penitenza, la preghiera e cercare Dio sono la parte più importante. La quaresima comincia dopo la festa del "Martedì Grasso". Il giorno dopo, il “mercoledì delle ceneri”, è una festività dove il prete benedice i cattolici per i quaranta giorni della quaresima. E nel vostro paese festeggiate la festa del carnevale? In 'Kruimels' krijgt een teruggetrokken fictieschrijver de diagnose Alzheimer. Om haar autobiografie te voltooien is ze afhankelijk van haar jonge, impulsieve hulp. Samen duiken ze in het verleden. Tijdens de dromerige tocht langs de rafelranden van het geheugen van de fictieschrijver ontdekken ze een tragedie die beide vrouwen met elkaar verbindt. Sylvia Poorta begon bij het gezelschap De Trust. Ze was jarenlang verbonden aan het Ro Theater. De afgelopen jaren speelde Poorta de rol van Wilhelmina in de musical 'Soldaat van Oranje'. Poorta kreeg meerdere prijzen waaronder een Theo d'Or, de Marry Dresselhuys Prijs, een Musical Award en ze werd ook nog eens genomineerd voor een Colombina.

In questo episodio Bruno e Matteo ci parlano della Commedia dell'Arte, il genere teatrale nato nel ‘500 in Italia da dove si diffuse in tutta l'Europa dominando il palcoscenico per alcuni secoli. Caratteristica della Commedia dell'Arte è la recitazione senza copione: gli attori improvvisano sulla base di un canovaccio che indica le azioni e i lazzi, usano maschere, ampia gestualità e parlate dialettali in carattere col personaggio che rappresentano. I personaggi sono fissi e ben noti al pubblico: Arlecchino, Brighella, Pulcinella, Colombina, Capitan Spaventa, Pantalone…. Sono attori che recitano per mestiere e appartengono a compagnie teatrali itineranti. Le trame fondamentali del canovaccio sono l'amore, il denaro e la vendetta. La Commedia dell'Arte giunse alla sua conclusione nel ‘700 con la riforma di Carlo Goldoni che introdusse un teatro comico più consono a rappresentare i valori della nascente borghesia mercantile, tipicamente veneta. Goldoni riteneva che la Commedia dell'Arte fosse sorpassata, per la volgarità delle situazioni proposte, la ripetitività e gli stereotipi delle maschere e personaggi fissi. E decise di ridare dignità culturale alla commedia, attraverso una riforma in linea coi principi dell'illuminismo. Ma un commediografo che invece ritornò con entusiasmo alla Commedia dell'Arte fu Dario Fo che ne adottò la struttura e metodi espressivi in tanti dei suoi lavori teatrali, come Mistero Buffo, Arlecchino utilizzando l'improvvisazione, la gestualità marcata, l'acrobazia, i lazzi, le parlate dialettali e linguaggi inventati. Il Carnevale ormai è alle porte e qui in Italia ci prepariamo a festeggiarlo come si deve! Essendo una festa molto antica e diffusa su larga scala, ogni Paese lo festeggia in modo diverso. Dovete sapere che ogni regione ha le proprie tradizioni per festeggiare in pompa magna l'ultimo giorno prima dell'inizio della quaresima, il periodo che precede la Pasqua - degli esempi? Parate, travestimenti, cibi particolari, ma anche maschere (e no, non si tratta solo di 'maschere' di trucco). Se siete curiosi di sapere di più sulle tradizioni italiane per festeggiare il Carnevale, la sua antica storia e tutte le espressioni della nostra lingua legate alle maschere, non dovete fare altro che continuare a leggere questo articolo! Il CARNEVALE: una Tradizione Antichissima Il Carnevale sembra una festa da niente, ma in realtà è antichissima: risale addirittura all'antica Roma e più in particolare, alle festività chiamate "i Saturnali" - durante queste feste tutti si lasciavano andare, si liberavano da obblighi e impegni, e si dedicavano allo scherzo e al gioco. La tradizione della maschera è nata proprio all'epoca, quando tutti si maschervano per festeggiare - ciò permetteva di eliminare, minimizzare le differenze sociali tra ricchi e poveri. Questi festeggiamenti all'insegna della libertà erano giustificati dalla loro idea che "una volta l'anno, è lecito impazzire" e difatti, dopo le festività tutto tornava alla normalità. L'evoluzione di tali festeggiamenti ha subito un cambiamento drastico con l'arrivo del Cristianesimo, ovvero quando la Chiesa decise di mettere fine a queste feste poiché considerate "selvagge": da quel momento in poi il Carnevale è diventato più tranquillo ed ha iniziato ad essere associato alla religione. Per quanto riguarda l'etimologia della parola "Carnevale", essa deriva dal latino “carnem levare”, cioè “eliminare la carne”. Il giorno di Carnevale era proprio l'ultimo prima della Quaresima, il periodo di 40 giorni prima della Pasqua, durante il quale non si poteva mangiare carne. Ma basta parlare della storia...passiamo alle famose maschere di Carnevale! Le MASCHERE di Carnevale Le maschere sono ancora oggi una parte fondamentale del Carnevale. Quelle italiane più tipiche sono Pulcinella, Pantalone, Colombina, Arlecchino, Brighella, Balanzone e Pierrot - vediamole ora più da vicino! Pulcinella è forse una delle maschere di più famose, resa facilmente riconoscibile dal suo aspetto: porta abiti e un cappello bianco, mentre sul viso porta una maschera nera dal naso molto lungo. Originata intorno al Seicento, Pulcinella è la maschera che rappresenta pigrizia e goffaggine. Sono molte le teorie che accompagnano il nome di questa maschera - quella più accreditata ha a che vedere con il suo naso adunco, ergo il suo aspetto da "pulcino". Pantalone, invece, è il tipico mercante Veneziano del Cinquecento: vecchio e avaro. Come Pulcinella, anche lui indossa una maschera nera dal naso adunco, mentre i suoi abiti sono rossi - porta infatti una calzamaglia e blusa rosse, un cappellino floscio e rosso, e un mantello scuro. Colombina, a differenza delle prime due maschere, non ha il viso coperto. E' quasi sempre raffigurata con un bustino stretto e un'ampia gonna a balze di colore blu. Viene corteggiata da Pantalone, sebbene il suo amato sia... ...Arlecchino! La maschera più popolare è proprio quella che ricopre il ruolo di servitore spensierato e allegro. In italiano, il suo nome è ormai sinonimo di "multicolore" proprio per il suo vestito a losanghe colorate; sulla testa porta invece un cappello bianco e, come gli altri uomini, ha il viso coperto da una maschera nera. Brighella (il cui nome deriva da "briga") è il migliore amico di Arlecchino. Dal carattere vivace, attaccabrighe, insolente e dispettoso, viene raffigurato con giacca e pantaloni decorati con galloni (strisce decorative) verdi; ha inoltre scarpe verdi con pompon neri.

Welcome to the 13th muse on the Introvert Biz Growth podcast, the show where I talk to introverts who grow their business and make a difference. I'm Sarah Santacroce, your host. If you're new here, then I want you to know that this is not the usual format of my regular episodes. I post a new show every other Friday, and it's always a conversation with a fellow introverted entrepreneur who uses his or her introverted superpowers to make a difference. I share these muses to make you think, to inspire you, to break the rules and to eventually invite you to the Gentle Business Revolution, when it's ready. And today is the day! It's ready! The 1st part of the Gentle Business Revolution is ready! And in today's muse I want to tell you more about it. But I need to start at the beginning and give you some context. So… I grew up in a peace & love environment called the Colombina, a community living experience co-owned by my parents and their friends. It was an apartment building with 6 apartments, each family had their own apartment, but we spent many hours in other people's houses, or in the common garden. It was normal to me, but abnormal to everyone else. I remember my boyfriend at the time, I was 14, giving me weird looks when people would just walk into our front door and ask for salt or eggs that they were missing for their recipe. Again, it was normal to me, but as a teenager it was embarrassing. I was taught early on that I was very privileged to be born in a society that has everything and that this privilege came with a responsibility: take care of our world and take care of those who are not as privileged as me. Once a week my parents invited a refugee to have lunch with us, and learn some German (my mother tongue). The grownups also held monthly meetings to discuss current topics and take decisions together (who's in charge of the garden, should we invest in a new bike shed, would cat owners please clean up the kids' sand pit etc etc. Everything was decided in a very democratic way, notes were taken and people were held accountable. Yes, there was sometimes tension that even we kids noticed, but it really taught me that a community is very precious and everything can be figured out in a very civil way. And no, there were no drugs involved and no, we didn't walk around naked, contrary to the beliefs of our elderly neighbors. As early as kindergarten, I was a quiet leader. It started with our neighborhood kids club including my sister and the other 3 kids of the house, continued throughout the school years where I took over the leading role for projects and then became one of my main roles as an entrepreneur. Over the past 12 years I have coached and mentored entrepreneurs and business owners, helped them get clarity and outside of the box thinking to achieve their marketing and business goals. As an entrepreneur, I made the decision a few years ago, to specialize in helping my clients get clients on LinkedIn. It was a good decision and I don't regret it one moment. But I'm also a very curious person, and it has become clear to me 2 years ago that LinkedIn was not going to be all I do for the rest of my working life. Which is why I started this podcast, The Introvert Biz Growth show, at the beginning of 2016. I had no business plan, just knew that I wanted to talk to fellow introverted entrepreneurs about how they are making a difference and grow their business. Around the same time I turned 40 and had my 'mid-life unraveling' as Brené Brown likes to call it. I did some personal work with a therapist and remember this one particular session where, in tears, I told her: It's so f***ing hard to be different! (Sorry, I don't usually swear, but this expression just needed the F word) If I had to summarize my experience in business in one word, then 'different' would be it. I always felt that I was different than everyone else out there. I felt that I was not tough enough. I felt that I was not pushy enough in my marketing. I felt that I did not belong. I felt like I didn't have enough accolades next to my name. I felt like I didn't have the same energy everyone else seemed to have. I felt like I wasn't worthy charging those high rates I saw other people using. And this fear held me hostage for many years… Out of fear of being different or being rejected I changed who I was, tried to be like everyone else, just to fit in. And then, in an epiphany moment, the term "Gentle Business Revolution" came to me. All my life I had been a non-conformist, a rebel. I moved out to live in Paris for a year at 18, then never moved back home. I never went to university, it felt too confining. I had a tiny wedding with a small group of friends in Barcelona, the city where I met my husband while traveling. I had kids early, when everyone else was still in the rat-race… I then started my own business at age 30. Over and over again I did things differently. And yet, in business I seemed to just comply. No more. I knew I could no longer wear the mask, fake it and apply everyone else's templates. I was ready to be the leader of a paradigm shift in business and marketing. With all the non-gentleness going on in the world right now, I think the time is right for a paradigm shift. I guess to me the opposite of gentle is tough. Expressions that come up for me are "she's a tough business woman" and "business is tough". Or "it's business, not personal" or "it's just business". All of them have nothing to do with being gentle. I see it as my mission to prove that one can be successful in business by being gentle, not tough. By being personal, not 'just business'. One of my subscribers recently sent me this sentence: "Throughout the years, my experience of you has been that of a benign presence." According to Wikipedia this is what 'benign' means: gentle and kind. Yes, that's who I want to be in business. Gentle and kind. Not tough. Gentle, kind and fair. I also realized that I was done acting as a lone wolf. As an introvert, I thought it was just my modus operandi. Until I joined a group of like-minded peers who shared similar goals and aspirations. It's when I realized how much I was missing these community values that were instilled to me by my parents. There is magic that comes through groups that dates back to our ancestry in tribes who gathered around the fire to connect, debrief and enjoy the company of each other — it is like we are wired to work together and find our highest truths through these interactions. - Leisa Peterson – So I'm coming full circle. As a result, this is the place where everyone is growing wiser and you will be challenged to grow, multiply and increase your impact in various ways. How does it work? The Alliance membership is on an annual basis — you can cancel at any time and refunds will not be given. It is an ongoing group. Who else is in The Gentle Business Alliance? The Alliance is a group of maximum 25 conscious entrepreneurs from all over the world. Members of the Alliance come from a broad background of business types, sizes and growth stages. There is no discrimination depending on revenue in the Alliance. What is the investment to be part of The Gentle Business Alliance? The annual membership is $2000. You can pay on a yearly or quarterly basis (4 x $500), or monthly by request. Even if you pay quarterly, you are committed for the year. When does it start? Unofficially it already started because some of the Founding members will continue on in the Alliance. But officially I'll be talking to new members as of today. Enrollment is open until we hit 25 members.
