WonderSteam, N-Gabe, Valvita: you can call it whatever you like because Valve have made their intentions clear. They're keen to elbow their way into the handheld market with the Steam Deck. Of course, Headline & Hot Takes has loads of chat on Valve's Switch-like handheld. We chat about who this is for, we speculate on whether or not developers are going to be taking the Steam Deck into consideration when making their games, and we chat about how it looks. We're very superficial. We also discuss the chatter around Netflix moving into video games, and we've got some EA Play predictions for you, too. For Show and Tell, I brought Death's Door to the discussion. It's a little Zelda, a little Dark Souls, and loads of crow. I think this game is brilliant, and you should play it. Matthew wasn't as hot on the first few hours of JRPG Cris Tales, but the time-travelling mechanic definitely has him intrigued. I also played a little bit of the new Streets Of Rage 4 DLC. It's Streets Of Rage 4. So, I like it. This week's Mystery Steam Reviews is all about video games that have AI-controlled companions. And we round out the show by opening The Weekspot mailbag to answer your Burning Questions on Cyberpunk 2077 and Miami in the ‘80s. 00:00 Intro 03:57 Information Snacks For Your News Gobs 12:46 Steam Deck announced and it's out this year 41:26 Netflix is getting into the video game business in a big way 52:01 EA Play 2021 predictions 56:20 Death's Door gameplay and review 1:13:40 Cris Tales gameplay and impressions 1:24:53 Streets Of Rage 4: Mr X's Nightmare gameplay and review 1:28:44 Mystery Steam Reviews 1:52:05 Burning Questions
I can picture it now: cruising down Vice Point, behind the wheel of a Cheetah, giving off big divorced dad energy as W.A.S.P. bellows from the car stereo. How brilliant would it be to head back to Rockstar's Miami? If you believe what's been said over the past few days, we'll all get the chance to revisit one of video game's great locations in a few years time. Headline & Hot Takes is full of chat on Grand Theft Auto VI: Vice City. Nothing's set in stone – expect confirmation of what GTA VI actually is somewhere between now and whenever – so listen to this to hear some juicy, totally unfounded speculation. One thing we can be a little more sure on is Assassin's Creed Infinity. Well... we can talk with a little more confidence when it comes to Ubi's live-service stabbing, because we know it's actually happening. But, in truth, we also don't know what that is. Everyone enjoys a bit of conjecture! For Show and Tell, Matthew's brought King's Bounty 2. While he was expecting something more Witcher-y, he was relatively pleased with it after a limited time with the game. Meanwhile, I played that first-person flinger, Boomerang X. It's a pretty enjoyable, throwaway (and catch again) fun. This week's Mystery Steam Reviews is all about video games that have one word titles. And we round out the show by opening The Weekspot mailbag to answer your Burning Questions on Bounty bars, the first game we finished, and sounds. 00:00 Intro 02:56 Information Snacks For Your News Gobs 08:11 GTA 6 reportedly set in Vice City and a few years away 23:27 Assassin's Creed Infinity is apparently launching in 2024 43:21 King's Bounty 2 gameplay and preview 55:59 Boomerang X gameplay and review 1:03:54 Mystery Steam Reviews 1:21:19 Burning Questions

Good Pie, Good Vibes Shut your pie hole, and listen up! Go where the pizza is so good that there is nothing else you can call it but Good Pie. Brooklyn born Vincent Rotolo was destined to dedicate his life to the perfect slice. He started in the hospitality industry at just thirteen slinging pizzas at the legendary John's of Bleecker St. in New York City. “When you hit like thirteen, and you’re a Rotolo, you work at John’s and figure out your spending money. You’re cut off of allowance… and it’s been a pizza love affair ever since," said the Good Pie owner. Rotolo chats with 2 Sharp Chefs Lorraine Moss and Louiie Victa about the origin behind "grandma-style pizza" and explains why he displays a wall full of grannies at his Downtown Las Vegas shop. For Show & Tell, he demonstrates the importance of his special dough room and talks about why the process started well before his restaurant opened. Often your recap of the last seven days in PC video gaming, this week's show is a little different as you'll hear us mainly chatting about all of the lovely video games we'll be getting our hands on over the course of the next twelve months. While not necessarily news, we've decided to lump our chat on our most anticipated games of 2021 in the Headlines and Hot Takes bit. Everyone's been off for the last two weeks, so there hasn't been much in the way of newsy news. So, from Far Cry 6 to Ghostwire: Tokyo, Hitman 3 to Gotham Knights, if it's out this year, and one of us saw it on Wikipedia's 2021 in video games page, we chatted about it on this week's episode of the podcast. For Show and Tell, Colm decided to revisit the big, burly lot in Gears of War, as he fired up the recently released DLC for Gears 5. He enjoyed Hivebusters because it reminded him how much he enjoys shooting manky-looking maggot men. Also, in an attempt to feel young again, he's had a go on 2020's biggest 2018 game, Among Us. As we look forward to 2021, we decided to reflect on the year that was 2020 for this week's Mystery Steam Reviews. We also thought picking games that came out only a few months ago would mean we'd actually get some right. And we round out the show by opening The Weekspot mailbag and answering your Burning Questions.

What did you do during the pandemic? Las Vegas pastry chef Andrea Mclean put together her love of pop culture and pies to create Pop 'N Pies. And just a few months in, her delicious desserts are poppin' up across the valley. The young chef has also secured some awesome collaborations with Chef Brian Howard of Sparrow + Wolf and Jolene Mannina, owner of SecretBurger.com. The pie chef shares how her fine dining experience, in the kitchens of the late Joel Robuchon and the Michelin starred Thomas Keller, helped shape her small business. For Show & Tell, she brings a pastry tool that both Chefs Lorraine Moss & Louiie Victa covet respectfully. Podcast mentions: Libby's, L’Atelier De Joel Robuchon, Instagram: Sam Artsy Pants, Thomas Keller, Bouchon, Sparrow + Wolf, SecretBurger.com, Waitress Find out more at https://2-sharp-chefs--a-microphone.pinecast.co This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Have you ever eaten a traditional Mexican tortilla? Las Vegas Chef Mariana Alvarado says most of us have NOT because of decades of selfish politics and greed. That's why she started MasAzul, a small business that prides itself on using heirloom Mexican corn to make traditional nixtamalized corn tortillas. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Chefs Lorraine Moss & Louiie Victa learn the history and process of nixtamalization, how it creates more delicious and nutritious tortillas, and why this is Mariana's life's passion. For "Show & Tell", she shows us a rainbow of heirloom corn and what each varietal produces. Make sure you press play on 2 Sharps Chefs YouTube channel to see it all. Also, the chef shares her exciting, "life changing" experience cooking with the staff at the new Henderson practice facility for the Las Vegas Raiders. You will never see a tortilla the same way again. And that makes Chef Mariana very happy and proud. Podcast Mentions: Las Vegas Raiders For this podcast's Pandemic Provisions, Lorraine and Louiie discuss their favorite traditional Mexican delicacies while travelling in Mexico (pre-pandemic, of course). On Tuesdays, we eat TACOS. On October 4th, it's National Taco Day. And it's Hispanic Heritage Month. But do you really need an excuse to munch on a taco? For Carlos & Kristen Corral, being a tacotarian is a way of life. And they hope to make us all tacotarians. The Las Vegas couple started their plant-based Mexican eatery Tacotarian with their partners Dan & Regina Simmons after a delicious trip to Mexico City. They realized that it wasn't the meat that made the food so "MexiSexy" (yeah, we made up that word). It was the bold Latin flavors that came across just as well, and in some cases, even better with vegetables. Chefs Lorraine Moss and Louiie Victa learn about how the small business is trying to save the world one taco at a time, why the whole team has decided to go meatless, and how two married couples work so well together. For "Show & Tell" - Kristen & Carlos stay on brand with their delightful choice. Podcast Mentions: Pujol, Garagiste, Esther's Kitchen, Crafthaus, Main St. Provisions, Gardein, Beyond Meat, Good Planet, Market on South, Gelatology, NSPCA Find out more at https://2-sharp-chefs--a-microphone.pinecast.co This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
24 Meals is a challenge spreading across Las Vegas. It's a labor of love. It's a simple way to spread hope. And it's delicious. Too many people including many in our culinary community are struggling to feed their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why Katinka and Chef Matt Fresinski are giving their time, their labor, and a huge part of their house to address the problem. The couple enlists professional chefs from all backgrounds to prep and cook 24 meals with a donated mystery box of vegetables, meat, and herbs. The home cooked meals are then delivered to families in need. Both Chefs Lorraine Moss and Louiie Victa share their experiences with the fun challenge. Katinka and Matt explain how the idea started, what they hope their non-profit organization will become, and what they need to keep feeding thousands of meals. For Show and Tell, Katinka shows us what it means to give something truly heartfelt to your partner, and Chef Matt tells us about his obsession with peppermills? He’s known for his guinea pie and his tasty wings, but did you know that Naked City Pizza’s Chris Palmeri worked as a young chef in a country club? The Buffalo born, Las Vegas bred chef chats with Chefs Lorraine Moss and Louiie Victa about his New York background, his family business (not pizza!), and his love for the comfort food of his hometown. For “Show & Tell” - he offers a PSA for correct chicken wing cooking. And yes, he says there’s only one way and one sauce that does it right. Palmeri also shares how the pandemic has helped him prioritize and pare down to give his personal life a much needed boost. The Top 5 questions that I get asked about homeschooling and unschooling Not sure what the term 'Unschooling' really means or how it differs from traditional homeschool? Are you uncertain how kids can actually learn if life looks nothing like the traditional schooling structure? Would you love to homeschool or unschool but you just don't know how you can afford it? Would you love to homeschool but your life partner is not on the same page? What do you do then? These are questions that I receive often from listeners of the podcast. Questions and fears are natural, especially if you are creating a life of your own design that doesn't follow the normal routine of others around you. As much as I try to address these questions in interviews with my guests, there are times when it seems best to answer them directly. Which is what I am doing with this episode. So grab a cup of your choice and listen in on the top 5 questions that I receive on homeschooling and unschooling. Throughout the episode I reference many others, including past episodes and resources. All of those I have included at the bottom of this page. Question 1: What is unschooling? Question 2: Why did we move from traditional homeschooling to unschooling? Question 3: If we unschool how do we know if our children are actually learning? Question 4: How do parents afford to stay home and homeschool or unschool? Question 5: What happens when you want to homeschool but your spouse or partner is not on the same page? What did you think about the top 5 questions about homeschooling and unschooling that I receive? Do you need more explanation on a few things? If you do, write me and let me know. If there are other top 5 questions that you have about homeschooling and unschooling, let me know those too! Why wouldn't you use your spirituality in business?! Is often a question you'll hear me saying in sessions when I start working with a client... - and often they start by looking at me with a blank stare... Until it lands... Then the miracle sets in. When you realise that your business is just another area where you do not have to hold back, but can let your "freak flag fly". Merge the worlds. Truth be told it often brings me to tears, because the sense of relief and liberation that follows is magnificent. With that liberation comes a flood of creativity and action. Things that may have been stagnant or blocked flows like the more powerful stream of source energy. Something I wish everyone, you included Radiant One could experience. In this episode I talk about Spirituality in Business and how you can begin to incorporate all of who you are in your business. As I sat in meditation, asking my guides what I was to bring forth in our space today this message arose "What is met by love can be seen". As is often the case I marvelled at those deep, profound truths that we are able to hear when we allow stillness to speak. I'm sure you've heard the term "blind fury" or "blind rage" but have you ever stopped to truly consider the truth of it? In this episode dive into how things can truly be seen when met by love, as well as share why I believe anger or holy anger as I like to call is can be a very powerful catalyst. Actual Anarchy Podcast - AnCap Movie Reviews from a Rothbardian Perspective
Hey, we're back! Allow ourselves to...introduce....ourselves... Robert and Daniel here from the Read Rothbard Podcast which will be transitioning to audiobooks of Murray Rothbard books and articles going foward. So let us be the first to welcome you to the inaugural episode of the Actual Anarchy Podcast (New name, same game). As I just said, this is the inaugural Actual Anarchy Podcast launching, fittingly, on inauguration day of new President, Donald J. Trump. Old boss, same as the new boss? In some ways, probably; though he was the change candidate. The F-you to the status quo. But, is the status quo the right thing? Most people aren't happy, no matter who wins. Is there a better way? Yes, Virginia, there is. Actual Anarchy. Voluntaryism. We introduce ourselves and some of the tenants of the philosophy in this episode. Future episodes will focus on actual instances of anarchy in popular film and news events. Get strapped in people; it's going to challenge what you think you know...and hopefully get you to think. Look for a new episode from us each week...until our demands our met! Enjoy! Check out the BRAND NEW www.ActualAnarchy.com website. For Show notes and more, please visit: http://www.actualanarchy.com/2017/01/30/episode-1/
For Show 34, Russell Goldsmith chatted with Howard Kosky, CEO of Broadcast Communications Specialists markettiers, Lucy Davies, Brand PR Manager for Direct Line Group and Ian Collins, presenter of The Late Show on LBC. For Show 47 Lando and I are taking a look at some of the things that we take as automatic components in our modern lives. Concepts like schooling, driving, and even religion get put under the spotlight as we try to figure out what human beings have adopted as "part of life" and whether any or all of those concepts are truly necessary. Opening Music: "Fire In The Sky" by Dave London Closing Music: "ET" by Peplab
For Show 44 we delve into the surprisingly deep mire that is television these days. From content to culture, we examine where the boob tube is currently and where it may be heading. Are we on the brink of a new era, where we see the transformation of an iconic technology into something almost unrecognizable? Or will TV more or less always be the way it is, a creation that hit the nail so squarely on the head that it needs no evolution? More importantly, what value should this often vapid landscape hold for us as individuals? Opening Music: "Fire In The Sky" by Dave London Closing Music: "ET" by Peplab
For Show 39 we're taking a pretty heated look at the subject of parenthood. With the staggering numbers of children who end up abused, abandoned or neglected, should we be doing more to make sure people are fit as parents? Do we need a set of rules that govern who can and can't reproduce? We walk a fine and contentious line this week as we battle over where our responsibilities as a society and our freedoms as individuals lie. Opening Music: "Fire In The Sky" by Dave London Closing Music: "ET" by Peplab
For Show 13 we decided to take a look at the headlines most of us never see, the stories that end up at the back of the newspaper or trapped in the far corners of the internet. Without a doubt, this show has some truly raw and frank moments so buckle those seatbelts.
For Show # 5 we talk about why “voting with your dollars” doesn’t really work, discuss the Often Overlooked classic anime They Were Eleven, and conclude with Part 1 of our interview with Patrick Macias, author of “Cruising the Anime City: An Otaku Guide to Neo Tokyo” and the Most Dangerous Man Alive. Visit http://www.animeworldorder.com for full show notes and supplemental links.
For Show # 4, Gerald talks about the Often Overlooked Hakugei: Legend of Moby Dick, Daryl's Anime Then and Now compares the original Area 88 OAVs of the 1980s to its 2004 TV series remake, and Clarissa reviews the BL title Sensitive Pornograph. We apologize for the audio quality of this episode. Visit http://www.animeworldorder.com for full show notes and supplemental links.

Are the miracles real or are they part of the way we cope with trauma? This episode looks at a story from the Manchu War of 1636, and the "Angel of Mons" legend of World War One.
