In the previous episode O and Zee discussed the phenomenon of adopting figures to represent your values, and how your voice is silenced by false choices of champions selected from the prominent digerati. Finally, O and Zee previewed the fall release of Severed Conscience - Controlled Environment, demonstrating how deep fakes will require online registration in order to access Internet Resources. In this episode the question “Should you need to verify that you are human” is asked. The World Economic Forum, world governments and UNESCO propose not only to require you to register and verify your identity, they also plan to manage resources such as food and health care via a digital identity. This is a refutation of the concept that liberty is inherent in all human beings as posited by Natural Law. In this new digital world, to exist you must first be registered. And while the bright and shiny technology of the future may offer glittering promises, this will not even be up to a vote. Yet it will be offered to us as a means to promote and preserve democracy. In part one of “What Price The World, A Single Coin”, we focused on Artificial Intelligence used as a tool to satiate online desire, leading to the establishment of Artificial Identities as people control the behavior of others as they become Pied Pipers and initiate “social movements” and how deep fakes will usher in Digital Identity while aiding the creation of Zero Permission Internet access. In particular, we examined how AI is being used to create child pornography, making law enforcement's job extremely difficult distinguishing the actual victims from deep fakes. Andrew Tate fulfilled the category of Artificial Identity as he attempted to assume the mantle as a speaker for healthy masculinity while relying on Severed Conscience and online addiction to lure customers into joining a following while emptying their pockets. Nicqueva Haughton was featured on our Endometriosis Fundraiser expert panel discussion speaking on stage during the live event as a patient advocate about her experience with endometriosis. She has many words of wisdom and encouragement to give individuals who have endometriosis and are either at the beginning of getting help or have been going through it for some time. This blog post was written based on the Know & Do Better podcast episode, The Patient Perspective: Nicqueva Haughton's Journey & Triumph with Endometriosis.  Living with endometriosis can be a challenging and often misunderstood experience. In this blog post, we will explore the personal journey of Nicqueva Haughton, who battled endometriosis from an early age, endured excruciating pain, and eventually underwent a hysterectomy. Despite the hardships faced, there is hope, resilience, and a message of empowerment for others navigating this condition. Nicqueva Haughton experienced endometriosis symptoms soon after her first period at age 12. The pain gradually worsened over the years, causing her to miss school and endure debilitating cramps that were far beyond what was considered normal. Due to her young age, Nicqueva did not see an OBGYN until she was 18 years old, prompted by her mother's concern. The doctor discovered grapefruit-sized masses during an ultrasound, leading to a surgical procedure that resulted in the removal of her left ovary. The diagnosis of endometriosis was given, accompanied by the devastating news that she might never bear children. At the time of diagnosis, endometriosis specialists were scarce, and Nicqueva's doctor did the best with the limited information available. Despite the surgery providing temporary relief, the pain eventually returned, leaving her to explore various procedures and treatments.  Contrary to the doctor's initial prognosis, Nicqueva defied expectations and became a mother of three. Unexpectedly conceiving her first child at a young age, followed by subsequent pregnancies, brought immense joy and gratitude to Nicqueva. Years later, after enduring chronic pain and its impact on her personal and professional life, Nicqueva decided to pursue a hysterectomy. She described the struggle of being heard and understood by medical professionals, advocating for her health and well-being. The surgery revealed that endometriosis had spread to her bowels and bladder, underscoring the severity of the condition. Nicqueva shares her initial apprehension about her identity and femininity after the hysterectomy. However, she emphasizes the significant improvement in her quality of life, highlighting her newfound ability to participate in activities without constant pain and worry. Living with endometriosis is a challenging journey, marked by pain, uncertainty, and often delayed diagnosis. This blog post aims to shed light on one person's experience, highlighting the importance of self-advocacy and the significance of finding the proper medical support. Through Nicqueva Haughton's story, she hopes to instill encouragement for others facing endometriosis, emphasizing that there are paths to motherhood and fulfilling life despite the challenges posed by this condition. Quantum Quote: “If it has been done, it must be possible.” – Kenneth Boulding   April 22, 2021 is the 51st Anniversary of Earth Day - the most widely-observed non-religious holiday in the world.    Over 1 BILLION people participate in Earth Day events in virtually every nation on Earth. Earth Day events educate and mobilize on local, state, national, and global environmental issues.    The 2020s HAS to be the turning point for humanity's transition to clean energy and a sustainable future. 90% of our carbon emissions come from burning fossil fuels (oil, coal, natural gas) for our electricity, heating, cooling and transportation.     The Good News is that the Forces of Nature provide 1,000 times the energy we need. The Better News is that we have the technology to channel that clean energy and meet all our needs. And the BEST news is that we can save money doing it.   This week AWESome EarthKind will re-run our interview with Denis Hayes, the first Earth Day coordinator - who then led the way to make Earth Day an international event.   Denis also did the ground-breaking work that created the first 6 story Net Energy Positive building - despite developers saying it was an impossible dream.    Dive into the world of Earth Day's Denis Hayes and realize that we can overcome the seemingly impossible challenges that confront humanity today.   Denis Hayes is a Stanford University graduate and has been a silicon-valley lawyer, a Stanford Professor of Engineering, and the director of the National Renewable Energy Lab. He currently works as the President of the Bullitt Foundation, where he developed the first 52,000 sq ft six-story building to be Net Energy Positive. The building creates more energy than it uses, and energy is not an expense - but a profit center! And the building was built in Seattle – the city with the least amount of sunlight in the United States.    Denis was named as The Newsmaker of the Day by the New York Times, The Hero of the Planet by Time Magazine, and was also listed as One of the 100 Most Influential Americans in the 20th century by Look Magazine.   Denis became the national coordinator of the first Earth Day in 1970 after he dropped out of Harvard. That Earth Day mobilized millions of Americans and generated the momentum that led to the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and the creation of The Environmental Protection Agency.    Listen to this episode as Denis shares insights into Earth Day, the “Sea of Energy” that surrounds us, the building that World Architecture Magazine called “The Greenest Office Building in the World”, the reality that we can overcome what seems impossible, and his hope for the future. Sign up for a free webclass to discover how easy it is to get ultra-efficient geothermal heating and cooling installed in your home – without the pain of emptying your savings account.   In “The Power Of Earth With Comfort” From Climate Master webclass, you'll discover the answers every homeowner needs to know, including:   How geothermal heating and cooling can draw energy from the ground beneath our feet (for pennies) Why homeowners everywhere are making the switch The secrets to securing utility incentives and tax credits to pay for a large portion of your new geothermal system   and much more…   If you tired of rising energy costs and want to save up to 70% on your energy bills, Go to www.AWESomeEarthKind.com and register now for this FREE special event that will show you exactly how to get geothermal heating and cooling installed in your home   We'd like to hear from you! Please help us understand how AWESomeEarthKind can help you achieve your clean energy goals – and you'll automatically be entered into a Sweepstakes for a Free LED Light Fixture:   SEND YOUR FEEDBACK TODAY   SuperNova #1. “If it has been done, it must be possible.” While everyone said it was impossible, Denis developed the first six-story 52,000 sq ft building to be Net Energy Positive – it creates more energy than it uses.   SuperNova #2. Most of the energy we need to do are simple – become super-efficient and let the forces of nature provide our power.    SuperNova #3. We live in a SEA OF ENERGY. If it wasn't for the sun, it would be hundreds of degrees below zero. The furnace just tops it up.   SuperNova #4. Utility scale “Solar On Demand” (Solar with batteries) is now the lowest cost power in the US.   Worst Clean Energy Moment: During the Arab Oil Embargo, Denis promoted that we do for solar energy what NASA and the Defense Department did for computer chips – buy in bulk and drive down prices. There was good and bad news.   Aha! Moment: “Energy is the capacity to do work.” Drying clothes outside takes as much energy as in the dryer, but we don't pay for the sun and air to dry our clothes.   Best Advice He's Ever Received: When you hit the wall with a complex problem – take a break. Go into nature, do something else. When you come back, you'll have the answer.   Personal Habit that Contributes to Success: Pessimism provides no survival advantage – it only leads to giving up. There is always hope – even in the face of incredible challenges (like Churchill in England during WWII).   Internet Resources: https://grist.org, The New Yorker cartoon page, and the Borowitz Report Satire.    WTF or F: Siberia in winter without a coat.   Most Energized About Today: The Green New Deal (now called “ called the American Jobs Plan”). The $3 Trillion Cares Act  was passed with only a few weeks' debate to avoid economic catastrophe. We CAN come together and decide that we are going to make the transition to a super efficient, renewable energy powered civilization.   Parting Advice: Even when everything is stacked against you – never give up.

Quantum Quote:  “A quadrupling of clean energy activity is what we need - and where we're headed.” - Danny Kennedy   Clean energy is the answer to our environmental crises and is the key to unlocking a healthy and clean future. But, it is somewhat still inaccessible to different countries across the world.    How can clean energy bring about a prosperous economy despite the drawbacks of the pandemic?   How can clean energy give us the potential as individuals, as a country, and as a civilization?   Listen to today's episode and get to know how we can do it all! Danny sees a bright future with clean energy ditching fossil fuels and benefiting everyone in our homes, jobs and communities. Hear about the incredible economic potential in doing the most important work in world history.   Danny Kennedy is the CEO of New Energy Nexus, a non-profit which connects entrepreneurs everywhere with capital to build an abundant clean energy economy that benefits all. Kennedy also co-founded Sungevity in 2007, the fifth-largest distributed solar installer in the United States. He has also served as the managing director of the California Clean Energy Fund (an early-investor in Tesla), which includes overseeing the $25 million Cal Seed Fund.   His journey into clean energy started back in the 20th century. He started his solar company in 2007 and has been involved with a number of additional startups, including the solar financing company Mosaic. He sees clean energy as the answer to the extreme climate crisis, and a huge opportunity in uplifting potential for communities everywhere, with job creation, wealth creation, and leadership opportunities for everyone.   SuperNova #1. “Be aware that the world is changing much more rapidly than we realize in terms of the commanding heights of the economy.” - Danny Kennedy   SuperNova #2. “For the entrepreneur, pick your path in this amazing clean energy opportunity and find a niche, because that niche is going to become very big. Every day, get up and execute against that opportunity. Do the work. The balls in your court. Stay focused, my friend, and you'll do fine.” - Danny Kennedy   SuperNova#3. “You just always have to stay focused on your goals and your business and doing the next thing and the next thing. It's many days of work that make a great week and month, and it's many weeks and months of great and hard work that make for a successful year in a business -  and a career and professional life.” - Danny Kennedy   Aha! Moment: “The “Aha!” that caused me to jump ship from my previous career to start my own company was when Google Earth first came out - circa 2006. For the first time, you could look at the world from the satellite images that they were stitching together. And it was, “Wow, that's amazing!” My “Aha!” with a mate was sitting around drinking beer here in Australia, saying, “Seeing this Google Earth thing, isn't it cool? Wonder if we could do the design and engineering phase of the solar sales process online.” Sure enough, we found a software guru that did all the maths and whatever trigonometry was required - and we created remote solar sizing.” - Danny Kennedy   Worst Energy Moment: “There were moments where we were running right up against it on payroll back in the twenty-teens. A fast-growing solar company stretching itself. Anxious nights lying awake worrying about the people, the team that we built, and all that sort of stuff. In those moments you realize it can always get worse, it could come off the tracks - so just keep focused and do what you need to do.” - Danny Kennedy   Best Advice He's Ever Received: “To marry my now wife.” - Danny Kennedy   Personal Habits that Contribute to Success: “I am a big early riser. I believe that getting up and going hard is a good way to get things done.” - Danny Kennedy   Internet Resources: newenergynexus.com  www.thecleanfight.com     Book Recommendation: Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman   Magic Wand: “Social media. I would get them off the drip of dopamine responsiveness and let them get information at a high level. Technology is wonderful when it allows us to share across borders, instantaneously and all that good stuff. But we need to do it without the advertising addiction that has actually created so much distress and depression and despoiled our democracies and all the rest of it.” - Danny Kennedy   WTF or F: “You know, I'm an Australian Californian, so fire season comes to mind just in the last couple of years. I mean, having seen it on both sides of the Pacific, it's kind of tragic. I also worked in the Pacific in the 2000 era, and there was a Cyclone that swept through some small islands 1000 miles north of New Zealand. It was 150% wind speeds of anything previously recorded, and a huge storm surge and his frightening supercharged force of nature.” - Danny Kennedy   Most Energized about Today: ‘I am most energized about the opportunity in Indonesia. I know that sounds obscure, but you know, think about that huge country, which is about the size of the United States in population, and has had almost no solar today.” - Danny Kennedy   Parting Advice: “Get involved in this economic opportunity. It's also the most important work we can do ever in history. This decade decides the fate of civilization. I'm not a doomsayer. I don't believe it's the end of the world. I think we have a world without an end here. But a millennium from now, we will look back at the start of the 21st century as humans and say, "What the hell were they doing?" Do you want to know if his client listened?  How does climate change affect your business, what's at stake? Protecting the planet required business and social transformation, as well as an energy revolution. Drawing on 24 years in global markets & finance, business & nonprofit development, conservation, and sustainability, Chris Parker partners with purpose-driven organizations to create solutions on critical challenges.   Chris uses learned insights from the private and NGO sectors to benefit the scope of client impact.  By marrying passion and pragmatism, client partnerships expand the reach and power of a mission. Everyone's got to benefit. Everyone's got to play a part. Everyone's got to help  solve their own personal solutions.”   SuperNova #3. “Businesses are saving money and gaining financial predictability by sourcing clean energy, as opposed to relying on fossil fuels. As they move their operations out of climate-damaging fossil fuel, businesses are taking away their long term liability to the world at the same time. So it's reducing risk, reducing costs, increasing predictability. Quantum Quote: “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.” - Dave Belote   Clean energy isn't just good for our environment; it's good for our economy - and it's essential to our national security. Climate change and dependence on fossil fuels are creating additional instability around the world - and threatening US military bases everywhere. If you want to know how supporting renewable energy also secures national defense, this episode is for you. Dave Belote is a retired Air Force colonel and, since 2017, the managing partner of DARE Strategies LLC, an energy and defense consulting firm that advises renewable energy developers on Federal and state-level siting policy and legislative strategy.    He has served as an installation commander, Pentagon senior executive, and energy developer, and was the founding executive director of the Department of Defense Siting Clearinghouse.     Dave has earned two Bronze Stars, two Legion of Merit awards, and White House recognition as a Champion of Change:  Veteran Advancing Clean Energy and Climate Security.  He is also a five-time Jeopardy! champion.   In this episode, Dave shares his efforts to deliver clean, renewable power to federal customers and promote renewable energy solutions on military bases, public lands, and the outer continental shelf. Sass crafts unique approaches to the marketing of solar systems worldwide by paying more attention to the "watt for" than the "watts".    In this episode, Sass takes us to a whole new level of discussing solar energy - how important and beneficial it is for you and the environment. In fossil fuels, you have to create secure shipping lanes and channels, and you expand emissions. We don't have a level playing field, because when it comes to solar energy, you don't have those issues. Nobody's ever attacked a solar farm or created a war over a solar farm. So there's an imbalance in the costs allocated to the different energy sources”   SuperNova #2: [What people should watch for when they move to clean energy?] "Nothing. Solar is the fastest-growing industry in the world today. Jobs are being lost in coal, jobs are being lost in oil - but jobs are not being lost in solar. That's for sure.”    Worst Clean Energy Moment: My worst moment was when I had to sell off a part of the company that was no longer sustainable and 30 jobs were affected.    Ah-Ha: In 1999, I sat in front of an iMac. And I looked at it and I went: “iSun”, and registered the brand before the iPod, iPad, iPhone, or everything else "i”. Then we launched the original iSun solar mobile charger with the sun brand in 2002. We went to Radio Shack and they said: “when can we have it and how many?” It was amazing.   Best Advice: Listen more than you speak.   Personal Success: Tenacity - don't quit.   Internet Resources: isunenergy.com   Book Recommendation: The Power Of Intention By Dr. Wayne W. SuperNova #1: “If you go very back to my childhood, I kept seeing TV shows talking about the future. Space 1999 was a good example. When I was a little kid, they had an electric vehicle in that TV series. It had a bubble shaped vehicle that - back in the 80's - was like looking into the future.”   SuperNova #2: “I only paid $34,000 for my first LEAF. When the Model S came out, they said it was only going to be like $49,000, but when it was released, it was more like $110,000. So I'm glad I didn't put down my $5000 down payment on a Tesla. But I did proceed to buy a bunch of Tesla stocks for $26 bucks when it went public. So, I'm a proud beneficiary of Tesla stock now.” SuperNova #3: “The early model LEAF didn't have environmental controls of the battery compartment area to keep the lithium batteries cool. That was one of the downsides of the LEAF at the time (but it's been corrected now). What it does is create a difference in the capacity of the battery at different times of the year. Andy Kruse was a cowboy living off the grid on a cattle ranch when he started building small wind turbines out of car alternators. Southwest Windpower went on to sell 175,000 of windmills around the world until they were overrun by the tidal wave of cheap solar. Now Andy runs Underwriter Laboratories' HOMER Energy, the world leader in optimization software for microgrids that transforms energy CONsumers into PROsumers where our homes & buildings create energy, eliminate blackouts, and move us all to true energy independence. SuperNova #1. We need to optimize energy technologies for each location and different times. Solar, Storage, Wind, Geothermal, Fuel Cells, & Grid Power. SuperNova #2. Microgrids can lead to the end of blackouts. We are close to the day when every house will have a battery and solar generator, and where we can be producing energy for an indefinite period of time. When the grid goes down, you won't even know it, and the house will think about what to turn off (ice defroster, wait for the laundry, etc…) Ah-Ha:  Around 2008 in the midst of the Great Recession, everyday people started to say “I want to reduce my energy bill and produce my own energy." Best Advice he's ever received: Always be learning. Think in a 3-dimensional way – look at every idea from different angles. Personal Success: Write down everything. Internet Resources: https://microgridknowledge.com/ Book Recommendation: The Wind Power Story: A Century of Innovation that Reshaped the Global Energy Landscape by Brandon N. Never Stop Learning– The world is evolving so fast. Write everything down. Always be connecting and develop the relationship– how they benefit from you and how you gain from them. Denis Hayes dropped out of Harvard in 1970 to become the national coordinator of the first Earth Day– and expanded Earth Day to 180 nations where it is now the most-widely-observed non-religious holiday in the world.   SuperNovas: “If it has been done, it must be possible.” While everyone said it was impossible, Denis developed the first 6 story 52,000 sq ft building to be Net Energy Positive– it creates more energy than it uses.  Most of the things we need to do are simple– become super-efficient and let the forces of nature provide our power. We live in a SEA OF ENERGY. If it wasn't for the sun, it would be hundreds of degrees below zero. The furnace just tops it up. Utility scale “Solar On Demand” (Solar with batteries) is now the lowest cost power in the US. Worst Clean Energy Moment. During the Arab Oil Embargo, Denis promoted that we do for solar electricity  what Nasa & the defense department did for computer chips– buy in bulk and drive down prices.  There was Good & Bad News. “Ah HA!” moment. “Energy is the capacity to do work.” Drying clothes outside takes as much energy as in the dryer. But we don't pay for the sun and air to dry our clothes.  Best Advice Ever.  When you hit the wall with a complex problem– take a break. Go into nature, do something else. When you come back– you'll have the answer. Personal Success Habit. Pessimism provides no survival advantage– it only leads to giving up. There is always hope– even in the face of incredible challenges (like Churchill in England during WWII). Internet Resources. Grist.org, The New Yorker cartoon page,  & the Borowitz Report satire WTF or F. Siberia in winter without a coat.  What Energizes Today. The Green New Deal. The Cares Act $3 Trillion was passed with only a few weeks debate to avoid economic catastrophe. If we can come together and decide that we are going to make the transition to a super efficient renewable energy powered civilization.  Last Advice. Even when everything is stacked against you–never give up. Sponsors. Entrepreneurs on Fire.  AWESomeEarthKind.com/eofire

Quantum Quote: "The extraction, conversion and use of energy is the single largest cause of air & water pollution, single largest consumer of clean water, single largest funnel of resources supporting terrorism, and the single largest emitter of greenhouse gases ---- time for that to stop." –Scott Sklar 1st SuperNova.  With wireless Cellular & Internet, if one tower or data center fails, the rest of the system picks up the pieces and keeps everything going. The electric system is following the same path– smaller, more distributed, integrated & self-sustaining. SuperNova #2. Technology always morphs & evolves. With music, we advanced from vinyl records to cassettes to 8 tracks to cds to dvds to mp3s. Energy is following a similar evolution. SuperNova #3. Always get several estimates. Check referrals. Were the contractors on time and on cost. Was the customer happy? What would they change? Look for contractors in your state or regional Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) or Renewable Energy Association. Worst Clean Energy Moment –Many. Scott was ridiculed most of his career. Example: the US Senate Chief of Staff of Appropriations & Energy Committees during the Arab Oil Embargo– “there will never be solar or wind farms." “Ah HA!” moment. Solar was originally most cost effective in developing countries & remote areas where people don't have good access to electricity. Best Advice: Don't take things personally. Be thoughtful about what the other person is looking for, and do your best to meet their concerns. Personal Habit that contributes to success:  Extreme stubbornness & perseverance. “There is nothing like a Fine 'Whine' to get what you want.” Internet Resources:  State & Regional Chapters of the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) for contractors who operate under ethic guidelines. American Solar Energy Society (ASES) for technologies. World Resources Institute (WRI). Books: Any Amory Lovins book. Lovin's quote: "Electricity without fire." (quote: “The Stone Age didn't end because we ran out of rocks”). Thomas Friedman: “Hot, Flat & Crowded” & “Lexus & the Olive Trees.”  WTF or F: Arlington, VA– 5 minutes from DC. Lots of trees, but storms knock down wires. Scott installed solar & batteries– first to run his sump pump to keep his basement dry during storm outages, then for his whole house. Neighbors come to Scotts to drink his scotch & bourbon during power failures. He makes the neighbors who hate solar say why they don't like it– and admit that it's cool to have power when everyone else doesn't.  What energizes Scott today: New emerging technologies. New Sensors & Apps. Material science renaissance– great for off-shore wind, tidal, wave, & ocean thermal power. Most people live next to rivers & the shoreline – they can now gain 24 hour access to clean power. Last Advice:“Take a small step and do something. Screw in an LED lightbulb. Get a smart thermostat. Get a small solar system for your garage or garden shed, or some power to run your refrigerator, wifi, & lights so you can ride out power outages. And, you'll save money every day. The step you take will make the world a better place for your kids. And if you do it, others will too! Visit us at www.AWESomeEarthKind.com

Matt’s pumped to interview Molly of Boudie Shorts with Kia on this episode of, From Nothing to Profit. To make a long story short: Molly started with photographing weddings, had a client request a boudoir session, she fell in love and switched to boudoir photography full time, and now teaches boudoir; referring her client inquiries to her certified students.  Don’t miss how Molly uses Facebook Live! Molly is fired up about attitudes in the (boudoir) industry and practicing what you preach. It’s about empowering women. Listen in to hear how Molly would recommend you spend (or save) that $1k. Routine is something that really contributes to Molly’s success and she “plans tomorrow, today” – you want to hear how to do this! Don’t miss the important conversation about burnout and depression on this podcast episode. And as Molly says, if you want to become the best you can be, quickly, get a mentor to learn from someone who has already done it so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Internet Resources: www.boudieshorts.com/blog Subscribe to Molly’s email list while on the blog App: Talkspace (therapist on your phone)   (#) [00:01] Hey, this is Molly Kaiser and you’re listening to from nothing to profit. [00:05] Welcome to from nothing to profit a photographer’s podcast with Matt and Kaia where each week they talk to photographers about what is working in their business now so you can swipe those ideas and grow your business faster. [00:22] Hey everybody. So welcome to the podcast. I’m really excited today because we have my friend Molly Kaiser and you guys may know her from her Boudreaux work as well as booty shorts, but Molly and I have been friends for years and she’s been on some of my summer nights and I’ve done some work with her and stuff so it’s really excited to actually have this conversation with her. But if you guys don’t know Molly, so Molly, like I said, lives it and the Boudreaux hour, I can’t even say that word correctly. I’m going to fumble it all day long, but that’s okay. Through the associates does all that, you know, by using like appropriate marketing and sales and pricing. And she really focuses on customer experience where she took her business from 81 cents to six figures a year, which is, which is amazing, but like I said, now I know her really well through the fact that she helps other photographers build their business and years just like such an open book to our industry in terms of, you know, your business strategy is you’re shooting your lighting and your pose in your clients’ experience, all that stuff. So, um, thanks so much for being on this. And um, yeah, just tell our audience, you know, a little bit more whatever I missed and go from there. [01:27] Thank you so much for having me on this is, it’s always a blast to talk with you. Uh, so yeah, basically I always loved photography. I’m sure a lot of you listening, you can totally relate to that. You know, the whole young with the camera story. Right. But I remember in high school I would always get like notes to get out of my boring classes. I would call them like science and math because I want it to go play in the dark room. And so I always kind of knew that I wanted to pursue photography full time. I just didn’t always maybe believe that I could make money with a career in photography. So I interned with some photographers. I ended up going to college to study art and photography. And what I’ve kind of learned in college was it was a lot more about, you know, showing an art galleries and things like that. [02:15] There really wasn’t a structured, uh, major, if you will, in the UWU system, at least that, you know, taught me how to be a professional portrait photographer. So I actually told myself, I kind of gave myself an ultimatum, like, if you can book x amount of portraits and weddings,... Support this podcast

In 1980, he was selected as Outstanding Teacher in the College of Science, and then in 1998 he was nominated by Purdue for the Carnegie Foundation U.S. Professor of the Year. Also, fun fact, Dr. Dunsmore is the coauthor of the books Software Engineering Metrics and Models and Internet Resources for Tourism and Leisure. Today, Dr. Dunsmore is here to give us a faculty member's perspective on something I think a lot of us haven't spent much time thinking about or planning for. That's right, we're discussing team projects in and outside of the classroom. We're talking about why employers are looking for students who can work successfully on a team, and how completing projects beyond your class work can mimic the world of industry that you are going into and stand out on a resume. This discussion is for all of us, regardless of major or field. Without further ado, here's my conversation with Dr. Dunsmore.

There are a limited number of Christian counselors who have been screened by them to see if they counsel by biblical principles. There are a few other biblical Christian counselors around who have not been through the network, but would be good. Do not assume someone is a biblical counselor just because they put “Christian” beside their name. We would suggest you do a brief interview before you begin with a counselor. Some questions you might ask are: Do you counsel according to biblical principals? What does that mean to you? How would you counsel someone in certain situations – such as “I’m just not happy in my marriage and I want out?” Or “I’m struggling with homosexual tendencies and I feel that is wrong. What should I do?” Or “I have been living in sexual sin, and my life is a mess. Can you help me?” Ask the counselor if they would be willing to tell you when they believe you are getting out of line with what the Bible says. Counseling can be expensive, but if it helps bring healing, it’s worth it! Many counselors will work with you on a sliding scale based on your ability to pay. If you need help to pay for counseling, talk to one of us on staff who you feel comfortable with, and the church may be able to help you cover the costs for a few sessions.
