Some stories don't have clean endings. A.J. Daulerio published Hulk Hogan's sex tape, watched Gawker collapse under the weight of a $140 million lawsuit, and spent years wondering if he'd ever work again. He was somewhere between 90 and 100 days sober when he sat in that courtroom. He didn't know yet that all of it, the public humiliation, the professional exile, the long uncomfortable crawl back to himself, would eventually become the foundation for something genuinely good. Daulerio joined me to talk about that journey. We got into the Hulk Hogan trial, what sobriety actually looks like a decade in, and how The Small Bow podcast became a community for people who needed somewhere to land. He also talks about writing Hogan a letter in 2018 without telling his lawyers. It's a conversation worth sitting with. Visit thesmallbow.com to listen and watch the podcast. Topics of discussion include: * Saying goodbye to Jesse Ventura on commentary * Hulk Hogan ditches Tugboat for this week's promo from the gym * Rob Lowe in the 1990s is Roman Reigns in the 2020s * Sapphire channels her inner Johnny Roastbeef and picks out a new Cadillac * Earthquake solves the Tugboat problem
On episode 191 of Kliq This, Big Sexy is back from the UK, and let's just say he has some thoughts on the difference between a "British" workout and a "Detroit" one. If you're looking for a dry recap, look elsewhere; this episode is about the "unfiltered" Nash experience. The Highlights The UK Roundup: Nash breaks down his recent tour across the pond. Expect stories about the grueling travel schedule, the hospitality (or lack thereof), and how he manages to maintain his physique while living on the road in a different time zone. The Je'Von Evans Firestorm: Nash addresses the backlash from his "Mr. Bojangles" and "urban" comments. He doesn't just walk it back; he digs into his philosophy on "edge" in wrestling and why he thinks the young star is being "over-pushed" in a direction that lacks grit. Wrestler Safety 101: From his terrifying 1997 descent as Sting to why "Hell in a Cell" should actually stay inside the cell, Nash gives a masterclass on the "tricks of the trade" that kept him walking (mostly) after decades in the ring. Financial Rants: He channels his inner Warren Buffett to tear into "modern-day Ponzi schemes" like Bitcoin and paper silver. If it doesn't produce something tangible, Big Kev isn't buying it. The "Mount Nashmore" of Booze: Who can actually hang with the big men after the show? Nash crowns his picks for the wrestlers who could hold their liquor, featuring the likes of The Undertaker, Stone Cold, and Scott Hall. Why It's a Must-Listen This isn't just a wrestling podcast; it's cultural commentary. Whether he's dissecting Trump's Canadian tariffs or explaining why Hulk Hogan used to hide his blade in his mouth, Nash remains the most opinionated—and arguably most entertaining—veteran in the game. 00:00 Kliq This #191: UK Roundup 00:56 Urban vs Rural 03:20 Robert Duvall 12:12 MT Nashmore Duvall 17:25 The Pay for Magic Mike 22:28 UK tour 24:41 Dropping "Snakes" 26:06 The Tour 28:53 Swerve Stickland 30:20 Tim Robinson 31:48 BREAK MUD/WTR 36:59 "Be Educating me" 39:17 "Kevin, This is how you remind me of how great the podcast is!" 41:01 Sean has no IDEA what body building is 41:56 Why kev work 48:19 "huge thing of your life" 50:20 Being gifted artwork 59:07 Justin Credible 01:00:44 KTTV 01:02:47 KEV I WATCHED RAW… 01:06:19 Jevon Evans 01:11:56 "One of the Good ones" 01:15:03 Jevon Evans' presentation 01:21:54 BREAK BLUECHEW 01:23:56 EC Predictions 01:27:32 FL vs NJ 01:29:41 VKM car crash 01:33:35 01:33:35 BREAK MANDO 01:37:58 ASKNASH 01:38:26 Swerve v Kenny 01:39:43 Why didn't Steve Austin put over Scott Hall at Wrestlemania 01:41:50 Reggie White 01:43:13 Ric Flair keeping his clothes on 01:43:55 Wrestlemania tickets looking bad 01:47:43 Running to the ring during the Royal Rumble 01:48:30 OUTRO

Shot of Nostalgia: Shuffle continues with your host Acefield Retro, and this week we revisit April 4, 1993, WrestleMania IX from Caesars Palace in Paradise, Nevada. The first fully outdoor WrestleMania. The World's Largest Toga Party. A Roman coliseum theme complete with live animals, trumpeters, and commentators fully committed to the presentation. But beyond the spectacle, this event represents a pivot. This episode traces the road into WrestleMania IX through the March and April 1993 Wrestling Observer Newsletter coverage, capturing a company navigating lawsuits, scrutiny, roster instability, and mounting pressure. Bret Hart entered as WWF Champion. Yokozuna had been elevated as the dominant Royal Rumble winner. Hulk Hogan had returned, but his long term direction was fluid rather than locked in. The structure of the card reflects that instability. Shawn Michaels versus Tatanka opens with an Intercontinental Championship match that creates movement without definitive closure, immediately signaling protection over payoff. The Steiner Brothers versus the Headshrinkers provide one of the night's most cohesive in ring performances, reinforcing how effective the tag division could be when execution was clean. Doink versus Crush leans heavily into character psychology and spectacle, highlighted by the double Doink finish. We examine the originally planned mechanical stunt that was scrapped and what that decision says about the era's emphasis on visual moments. Razor Ramon secures a direct win over Bob Backlund, continuing his steady rise. The Tag Team Championship match between Money Inc. and the Mega Maniacs unfolds through referee bumps, disqualification tension, and spectacle driven pacing. We revisit the reported late reshuffling that removed the originally planned tag title blow off and centered Hogan more prominently on the card. Lex Luger's WrestleMania debut against Mr. Perfect introduces rope leverage controversy and is layered with behind the scenes anecdotes that contribute to the uneven rhythm of the night. The Undertaker versus Giant Gonzalez becomes one of the most criticized finishes in WrestleMania history, prioritizing theatricality over decisive resolution. The championship picture ultimately defines the event. Bret Hart versus Yokozuna is framed as a generational collision until Mr. Fuji's salt interference shifts the WWF Championship. Moments later, Hulk Hogan enters, accepts an impromptu challenge, and captures the title in approximately twenty seconds. With three decades of hindsight, this episode examines whether that closing decision reflects creative confusion or calculated business pragmatism. The Observer context suggests urgency. The optics suggest an audible. The result reshaped Bret Hart's reign, altered Yokozuna's trajectory, and placed Hogan back on top during a volatile moment for the company. WrestleMania IX is remembered for its ending. It deserves to be studied for what it reveals about transition, pressure, and how quickly direction can change when stability becomes the priority. John Cena, while you lay there, hopefully as uncomfortable as you possibly can be, I want you to listen to me.I want you to digest this because before I leave in 3 weeks with your WWE Championship, I have a lot of things I want to get off my chest. I don't hate you, John. I don't even dislike you. I do like you. I like you a hell of a lot more than I like most people in the back. I hate this idea that you're the best. Because you're not. I'm the best. I'm the best in the world. There's one thing you're better at than I am and that's kissing Vince McMahon's ass. You're as good as kissing Vince's ass as Hulk Hogan was. I don't know if you're as good as Dwayne though. He's a pretty good ass kisser. Always was and still is. Whoops! I'm breaking the fourth wall. I am the best wrestler in the world. I've been the best ever since day one when I walked into this company. And I've been vilified and hated since that day, because Paul Heyman saw something in me that nobody else wanted to admit. That's right, I'm a Paul Heyman guy. You know who else was a Paul Heyman guy? Brock Lesnar. And he split just like I'm splitting. But the biggest difference between me and Brock is I'm going to leave with the WWE Championship. I've grabbed so many of Vincent K. McMahon's brass rings that it's finally dawned on me that they're just that, they're completely imaginary. The only thing that's real is me and the fact that day in and day out, for almost six years, I have proved to everybody in the world that I am the best on this microphone, in that ring, even in commentary! Nobody can touch me! And yet no matter how many times I prove it, I'm not on your lovely little collector cups.I'm not on the cover of the program. I'm barely promoted.I don't get to be in movies.I'm certainly not on any crappy show on the USA Network.I'm not on the poster of WrestleMania.I'm not on the signature that's produced at the start of the show.I'm not on Conan O'Brian. I'm not on Jimmy Fallon. But the fact of the matter is, I should be. And trust me, this isn't sour grapes. But the fact that Dwayne is in the main event at WrestleMania next year and I'm not makes me sick! Oh hey, let me get something straight. Those of you who are cheering me right now, you are just as big a part of me leaving as anything else. Because you're the ones who are sipping on those collector cups right now. You're the ones that buy those programs that my face isn't on the cover of. And then at five in the morning at the airport, you try to shove it in my face so you can get an autograph and try to sell it on eBay because you're too lazy to go get a real job. I'm leaving with the WWE Championship on July 17th. And hell, who knows, maybe I'll go defend it in New Japan Pro Wrestling.Maybe I'll go back to Ring of Honor.

Kris and David are back as we discuss the week that was February 13-19, 1999, a show that was requested by Tim Ostrander by dropping $25 on our Patreon page: Topics of discussion include:Ric Flair being left in the farmlands of Florida being the main story of what was was, up to that point in time, the worst episode of WCW Monday Nitro in it's history. Also on Nitro, we get Bret Hart vs. then “Mad TV” star Will Sasso in a shockingly cromulent match, Hulk Hogan vs. Roddy Piper in a HORRIBLE match, Torrie Wilson as “Samantha" seducing an off-camera David Flair, and a lot more lunacy.Lots of finger pointing afterwards among the decision makers of WCW on why their new concept of Nitro is failing so horribly.Bill Goldberg reluctantly challenges "Stone Cold" Steve Austin on the Tonight Show.AJPW runs their first show after the death of Giant Baba at Korakuen Hall.Masa Saito's retirement ceremony at Budokan Hall takes place on Valentine's Day in NJPW.Antonio Inoki negotiates for Naoya Ogawa to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title.Brazo de Plata allegedly roughs up a kid who was bullying his son…the future Psycho Clown.Drama with Shane Douglas and ECW keeps building up.-Public Enemy leaves ECW high and dry on bad terms.Jerry Lawler shows what a "Southern Gentleman" is like to Shawn Stasiak's "sister" on Memphis Power Pro TV.A very lackluster Saturday Night Raw at Skydome, which then leads to the St. Valentine Day's Masscare PPV the next night, featuring the debut of Paul Wight coming through the ring and throwing Steve Austin through the cage.Vince McMahon being featured on Dateline NBC while the PPV is on the air and all the wackiness surrounding that.Raw after the PPV, featuring Sable officially turning heel in a show that absolutely destroyed Nitro in the ratings. This is just the tip of the iceberg as there is so much more on this show, so you don't want to miss it!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WWF1:34:33 Int'l: 1:57:03 Classic Commercial Break2:01:44 Halftime2:50:58 Other USA: 3:24:25 WCWTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. On this episode of Grilling JR, the voice of wrestling Jim Ross takes us back to No Way Out 2003, one of the most emotional and intense stops on the road to WrestleMania XIX. JR relives the unforgettable World Heavyweight Championship showdown between Triple H and Scott Steiner, breaking down the build, the expectations, and what was happening behind the curtain. He also reflects on the heated rivalry between The Rock and Hulk Hogan, and how their rematch captured a different kind of magic than their WrestleMania classic. Plus, JR shares stories about the evolving locker room atmosphere during the Ruthless Aggression era, the pressure of setting the table for WrestleMania, and what fans didn't see once the cameras stopped rolling. Candid insight, behind the scenes perspective, and classic JR storytelling this is Grilling JR at its finest.
