His first book, “America's Road to Jerusalem,” was released by Lexington Books in 2018. He researched the role of Christian Zionism in the development of a pro-Israel U.S. foreign policy. In his doctoral studies, Jason held fellowships with The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies, Crown Center for Middle East Studies, Hertog Global Strategy Initiative at Columbia University, Israel Institute, American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise, and the American Jewish Archives. Phil Bryant is a founding member of BSS Global where he provides strategic advice and business development services to some of the world's largest industry leaders. He serves on the executive advisory board of International Leaders Summit. America's Roundtable conversation with Governor Bryant brings to the forefront key policy issues including trade and tariffs, the urgency to advance tax reform, unleash energy independence and protect America's sovereignty. The timely discussion is focused on President Trump's policies and executive orders — and what it means for America's citizens, taxpayers, local communities and states. Governor Tate Reeves (R) and Speaker Philip Gunn (R). As previously noted by Laurie Todd-Smith in a 2023 Magnolia Tribune column on the making of the “Mississippi Miracle,” only 33 percent of third graders and 32 percent of 8th graders were reading proficiently on state tests that year. She led the governor's education policy team and is now the Assistant Secretary for Early Childhood Education at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Bryant presented lawmakers with an education vision titled “Framing Mississippi's Future” and in 2013, reforms such as the Literacy Based Promotion Act (3rd Grade Reading Gate), the Pre-K Collaborative, the Mississippi Charter School Act, Dyslexia Education Scholarships, and more were passed and signed into law. Mississippi unites with Israel at Jerusalem Leaders Summit (https://www.jns.org/mississippi-unites-with-israel-at-jerusalem-leaders-summit/) Jerusalem | Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant bounded on stage and, in his obvious Southern drawl, greeted the guests of the Jerusalem Leaders Summit, which took place last month at the Inbal hotel. Bryant was presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award for his efforts to strengthen the Israel-U.S. strategic partnership. He is a strong Israel advocate and his emotions were on full display when he addressed the crowd. “We have so many friends around the world,” he said, “but none as close, and none that I love more than Israel. I am called to be here. Perhaps sometimes we cannot explain exactly why, but that call, that voice, is stronger than any other that we hear, to come to Israel, to Jerusalem, to do what I can to strengthen this relationship.” The Third Jerusalem Leaders Summit held from Nov. 18-20, proved a unique event featuring leading voices who articulated principled solutions in addressing the 21st-century's economic concerns, global threats and security challenges. The parent organization—the International Leaders Summit, co-founded by Joel Anand Samy and Natasha Srdoc—brought together leaders from America, Britain, continental Europe, India and Israel to its inaugural Jerusalem Leaders Summit event in 2015, affirming the rule of law of civilization, based on shared principles and values. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://summitleadersusa.com/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 X: @PhilBryantMS @americasrt1776 @ileaderssummit @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. In this episode, Yaakov Lappin and I assess the fall out of the NYT article that claims that "Trump Waved Off Israeli Strike [against Iran's nuclear weapons program] After Divisions Emerged in His Administration." We ask who leaked the information and what Trump and Bibi's next steps might be in light of the story and emerging disagreement between the two. We then clash on the question of what an Iranian retaliation might look like in the event of a solo Israeli, or Israel-U.S. kinetic strike against Iran's nuclear facilities. What can – and can't – you say and do as a Palestinian American teacher? Can you speak frankly about Palestine, about the occupation and oppression, about the Israel-U.S. relationship? Can you support student inquiry into matters that rankle Zionist colleagues? Social-studies educator Luma Hasan encountered intolerance and pushback while working at a reputedly liberal high school. On this edition of Parallax Views, Palestinian Muslim writer Abdelhalim Abdelrahman, who has written for such publications as The New Arab, The Hill, and MSN, joins the show to discuss Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington D.C. to speak to Congress. Netanyahu received a standing ovation from Congressmen and Congresswomen who attended, with the notable exception of Rep. Rashida Tlaib who held up a sign that read "War Criminal". Interestingly, a number of top Democrats declined to intend, including Nancy Pelosi, who called Netanyahu's speech was "by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States". Meanwhile protests raged outside and a flag-burning, which has taken up much media attention, took place. Additionally, Gaza still faces a humanitarian crisis. Palestinians in Gaza face a dire situation, as exemplified by the tragic death of a 24-year old Gazan man named Mohammad Bhar. Bhar was afflicted with autism and Down's syndrome. He was killed last week after bleeding out from being bitten by an Israeli army dog as reportedly screamed "enough my dear, enough" and/or "let go my love, enough". Worth noting as well, is the fact that it was not only pro-Palestinian activists protesting Netanyahu's D.C. visit. Families of hostages also protested, believing that Netanyahu has exploited them for politics and not done enough to secure the hostages from the October 7th. Hamas attack. In other words, there are a lot of matters to discuss in this conversation. Abdelhalim covered all these issues with me as well as: - The Palestinian Authority - The letter Mahmoud Abbas sent to Donald Trump after the attempted assassination on Trump's life and Donald Trump's seemingly warm, positive feelings (at least in past rhetoric and response to the letter) to Abbas - Elements of the American conservative movement moving away from Israel on "America First" grounds - Thoughts on whether Kamala Harris will take a different approach to Gaza and the West Bank than President Joe Biden - Empathetic rhetoric vs. actual concrete policy that Palestinian American want to see - Abdelhalim's thoughts on the plight of the October 7th hostages - The Fatah-Hamas unity deal that was signed in Beijing - Abdelhalim's personal feelings on the Uncommitted movement and his frustration with the Democratic Party - The Occupation of the West Bank and the issues of annexation and settlement expansion - The question of "synthetic" or "artificial" Arab voices claiming to be "pro-peace" or "pro-Palestinian" but demonstrating a deep bias against Palestinians - Hunger and starvation in Israel - U.S. hypocrisy/double-standards on the situation of Palestinians vs. the situation of Ukrainians; Palestinians who express support for Ukraine and Ukrainians who express support for Palestinians - Abdelhalim's point of frustration with Nancy Pelosi's criticism of Netanyahu's speech to Congress And much, much more!

In an unexpected move, former US President Donald Trump criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli intelligence while praising Hezbollah during a campaign speech. In the ongoing saga of funds intended for Iran in exchange for the release of American prisoners, the US and Qatar have agreed to deny Iran access due to concerns over its use for humanitarian purposes. In the world of US politics, Representative Steve Scalise withdrew his Speaker of the House nomination, while Senator Bob Menendez received a superseding indictment alleging that he acted as a foreign agent and accepted bribes from a foreign government. Episode 34 of the Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum (IDDF) – with Prof. Chuck Freilich, former Israeli Deputy National Security Advisor, and Benjamin Anthony, Co-Founder & CEO of the Miryam Institute. In this episode, Chuck and Benjamin discuss the pros and cons of a possible US-Israeli defense treaty, a potential side product of the US-Israeli-Saudi normalization deal now under discussion. Chuck describes the conditions under which a treaty such as this would be favorable for Israel, although he is in a minority view among Israeli defense officials, Benjamin leans more towards the majority view, raising concerns about the future deployment of IDF forces abroad. They also briefly touch on the assassination of the head of the Russian Wagner Force, Yevgeny Prigozhin and the first Republican presidential debate. Benjamin expresses concern over GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's call for ending military aid to Israel when the current 10-year package expires in 2028. Chuck shares his deep concern, believing that the relationship with the US is critical to Israel's national security. The two disagree on the background to statements such as Ramaswamy's and similar ones by Democratic candidates. Benjamin attributes this primarily to anti-Semitism, particularly on campus. Chuck to Israel's policies regarding the West Bank.Join us as Chuck and Benjamin agree and disagree, in detail and in-depth, always respectfully, on the critical issues Israel faces. The MirYam Institute. “Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum” (IDDF), Est. 2022 - A Biweekly Podcast with Chuck Freilich and Benjamin AnthonyEpisode 33 of the Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum (IDDF) – with Prof. Chuck Freilich, former Israeli Deputy National Security Advisor, and Benjamin Anthony, Co-chair of the Miryam Institute. In this episode, Chuck and Benjamin conduct an in-depth discussion of a possible Israeli-Saudi normalization deal, under US aegis. According to the emerging contours of the agreement, Israel would have to make major concessions on the Palestinian issue and the US would have to accede to Saudi demands for a defense treaty, civilian nuclear program and sales of advanced weapons. Benjamin opposes concessions on Israel's territorial birthright as the price of a deal, believes that normalization with the Saudis should simply be in exchange for normalization, and that it is not critical for Israeli purposes. Chuck believes that normalization would constitute an historic change in Israel's strategic circumstances. Since Chuck supports separation from the Palestinians in any event, his concerns focus on the proposed civil nuclear program, which should be made contingent on a strong inspections mechanism.Join us as Chuck and Benjamin agree and disagree, in detail and in-depth, always respectfully, on the critical issues Israel faces. Despite months of widespread protests, Israel's right-wing government passed a law on Monday curbing the authority of the country's Supreme Court to block government decisions. This legislative action is just the beginning of a larger plan aimed at bolstering the nationalist Israeli right's grip on power. This week on Intercepted, Jeremy Scahill and Murtaza Hussain are joined by Mairav Zonszein, an Israeli American journalist and a senior analyst on Israel-Palestine at the International Crisis Group. Zonszein sheds light on the social-political dynamics driving the protests, the far-reaching implications of curtailing judiciary power on Israel and Palestine, and the future of Israel-U.S. relations. If you'd like to support our work, go to theintercept.com/join — your donation, no matter what the amount, makes a real difference. And if you haven't already, please subscribe to the show so you can hear it every week. Former Head of Mossad, Yossi Cohen and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) H.R. McMaster, former National Security Advisor of The United States, headlined The Annual MirYam Institute International Security Briefing, 2023. In front of a live Manhattan audience, during a particularly candid exchange, the two sharply disagreed on the policy of arming Ukraine. While both experts strongly condemned the actions of Vladimir Putin, significant differences emerged on how best to bring the conflict to an end. In this exclusive conversation, introduced by Rozita Pnini and moderated by Benjamin Anthony, the pair discussed:•The nature of Israel-U.S. security collaboration and cooperation •The central importance of intelligence sharing between Israel and the U.S. •The exposure of the Israeli Air-Force operating over Syrian skies •The Iranian nuclear weapons threat. This world-class, far-ranging and exceptionally frank conversation is now available for your viewing and listening pleasure via the links below. Since its establishment in the late 1970s, Israel's Islamic Movement has grown from a small religious revivalist organization focused on strengthening the faith of Muslim Palestinian citizens of Israel to a countrywide sociopolitical movement with representation in the Israeli legislature. But how did it get here? How does it differ from other Islamic movements in the region? Particularly, what are the differences and connections – if any – with Hamas? And why does its membership continue to grow? Tilde Rosmer examines these issues in The Islamic Movement in Israel (U Texas Press, 2022) as she tells the story of the movement, its identity, and its activities. Using interviews with movement leaders and activists, their documents, and media reports from Israel and beyond, she traces the movement's history from its early days to its 1996 split over the issue of its relationship to the state. She then tell us how the two factions have functioned since, revealing that while leaders of the two branches have pursued different approaches to the state, until the outlawing of the Northern Branch in 2015, both remained connected and dedicated to providing needed social, education, and health services in Israel's Palestinian towns and villages. The first book in English on this group, The Islamic Movement in Israel is a timely study about how an Islamist movement operates within the unique circumstances of the Jewish state that may also help the listeners to make sense of the upcoming Israeli elections.
