Generative AI comes with numerous promises for the digitalization of the legal sector. Although it is not since yesterday that we have been applying AI in the legal industry, the revolution caused by Generative AI has brought new opportunities. What are they? How are legaltech providers applying Generative AI in their tools?
There are two commonly known approaches to innovation within organizations: top-down or bottom-up. The leaders of these employee initiatives are intrapreneurs, people who think outside the box, identify untapped opportunities and drive transformative change from within. In this Spotlight On podcast episode, we talk to Derek Lou, an ex-intrapreneur of Cuatrecasas and currently an entrepreneur behind a Spanish startup for workflow automation: Parallel.
In this episode Stephanie Boyce, the former President of the Law Society of England and Wales, discusses with David Mitchell the ethical implications of generative AI upon the legal profession including the potential for unlawful bias in its application. On a practical note Stephanie considers how lawyers' everyday practices might be affected by generative AI and from the point of view of court users, whether lawtech can promote access to justice when parts of the population are digitally illiterate and in regions of England and Wales, there is inadequate broadband coverage.
On this special episode of LawTech Talks, produced in partnership with LexisNexis, we explore what lessons have been learnt from recent advancements in artificial intelligence and how lawyers can and should be adapting to the brave new world. Host Jerome Doraisamy is joined by LexisNexis Asia and Pacific Managing Director Greg Dickason to discuss the breadth of change we have witnessed in the development and utilisation of AI in recent months, why use of AI for lawyers isn't going anywhere, the primary challenges currently being experienced with AI as it continually evolves, and what lawyers can confidently use such platforms for at this point in time. Mr Dickason also reflects on how significant the advent of AI is for daily legal practice (relative to other earth-shattering events), how lawyers should perceive the scale and pace of change, whether lawyers will be left behind if they do not adapt to using AI right now, how much change is still to come and why certain legal tasks may be unrecognisable in the coming years, whether recalibration of what it means to be a lawyer is needed, and how LexisNexis is helping practitioners in this evolution. Jeremy Streten is on a mission to provide access to legal advice for all small to medium-sized businesses around the world. These aren't just empty words. He really means it as evidenced by the strategic moves he's made to, as he describes it, “…scale myself out of my law firm to remove dependency on me.” How's that possible when business laws are country-dependent? Well, turns out that's not entirely true. In this episode, Jeremy describes how his keen observations during a law conference coupled with sage advice from a business coach, led him down a path to scale business legal advice via a business legal lifecycle. It's an easy-to-understand chart designed to empower business owners in proactively securing legal protections using a combination of standard and local or customized practices. Now, he's transitioned out of being a traditional lawyer working on a per-client basis and into the role of CEO of a lawtech company with remote global operations across Australia, the U.S., and the U.K. Listen as he recounts the bumps and bruises along his journey that led to him building a business infrastructure that includes the optimal combination of people, processes, and technologies necessary to scale a service-based business. Jeremy's cracked the code and now you can learn from him and apply the lessons learned from his scale tale to your organization!

- DIREITO 4.0 PODCAST -Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/direito4.0podcastLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/direito-4-0-podcastE-mail: podcast@floox.com.br - BRUNO FEIGELSON -LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bruno-feigelson-b4050682Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brunofeigelson/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@brunofeigelson - NOTAS DO EPISÓDIO -Future Law: http://futurelaw.com.brAB2L: https://www.ab2l.org.brSem Processo: https://www.semprocesso.com.brLima ≡ Feigelson Advogados: http://limafeigelson.com.brDados Legais: https://dadoslegais.com.brLIfe Aceleradora: https://lifeaceleradora.com.brLawtech Hub: https://www.lawtech-hub.com.br
Holed up in a small Nordic city, a disruptive genius develops a robot lawyer designed to methodically take over the Norwegian legal industry. But this isn't a synopsis for the next big Scandi thriller – it's the latest episode of The Hearing. This week's guest, Morten Tidemann, flew in from Stavanger in Norway. He's best known for the innovative methods he's using to disrupt the business of law. Morten sits down with Kevin to discuss the efficiency savings enabled by his robot lawyer 'Ida' – around document assembly for legal, as well as business transactions and processes. The pair also chat about Nordic noir TV, alternative fee arrangements, the stigma of low-cost legal services, and why lawyers tend to be so risk-averse when it comes to tech adoption.
