It is a fact that what we think can impact our physical health, and so this episode explores the benefits of two more tools, which therapists can use to support clients, neuro linguistic programming and emotional freedom technique. Our conversation also covers mobile phone use, how we talk to ourselves and the necessity of a good nights sleep (which Pauline says is the alarm bell for mental health). My guest on this episode is Pauline Clarke, Mindnua and she has trained in the following practices and therapies:• Mindfulness Facilitator & Counselling• M.B.C.T. (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy)• Reiki Master Teaching• N.L.P. (Neuro Linguistic Programming) • Solution Based Counselling• E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique) • Neuroscience Coaching• Meditation Coaching• Trauma Healing She regularly talks to groups of all ages and is a great advocate for mindfulness and mental health in Co Cavan, so I know that you will enjoy my chat with Pauline Clarke.P.S. Welcome to another episode of The Women of Austin Podcast! In this installment, host Mindy Hofman engages in a heartfelt conversation with ATX Yoga Girl, Cynthia Aguillón Bernard. This episode delves into Cynthia's inspiring journey, beginning with the origins of her memorable name and her previous career as a corporate trainer for Estée Lauder, which involved extensive travel. Cynthia shares a pivotal moment in her life—losing a partner to an overdose—which led her to reevaluate everything. A friend introduced her to yoga, sparking a transformation that would reshape her future. This journey took her to Indonesia and Bali, where she immersed herself in yoga and meditation, returning with a renewed purpose: to help others through yoga. Embracing her newfound passion, Cynthia began teaching yoga to children, tapping into her desire to support the younger generation. She pursued her teacher training in Costa Rica, where she also met her now-husband. Cynthia explains her decision to become a mobile yoga instructor, allowing her to reach a wider audience. She teaches yoga to everyone, from toddlers to adults, and even shares her unique experience with Goat Yoga. Host Mindy Hofman asks Cynthia about her favorite teaching locations, and Cynthia highlights her free sound bath meditation sessions at Peace Park, open to all. She also shares the unusual experience of teaching yoga inside a brewery. Cynthia discusses the challenges of teaching yoga in the Texas heat, noting that she often schedules outdoor classes in the morning or takes breaks during extreme weather to rest and recharge. Finally, Cynthia expresses her love for partnering with non-profits to give back to the community. If you want to connect with Cynthia, you can find her at the links below. We love you for watching!

The Book Leads – Episode 38: Jill Siegel & Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience It's fitting that Jill selected Atlas as the book she wanted to discuss. The subtitle of the book seems to perfectly describe the journey she's undertaken since having left the corporate world to focus full-time on the desire to do good for others in her community and beyond. In this walk through her career, there are many points where she's reborn, each time gaining insight into her next focus, including how her need for self-care lead to her study of mindfulness. I met Jill during our work with the American Marketing Association – CT Chapter board. Like so many others, she's a great connection I made during the pandemic – a connection I haven't met in person. Some highlights from the episode: · Jill's work ethic is on display, mixing up a career in corporate life and being a stay-at-home mom with volunteering duties in various industries. · She breaks down the experiences that lead her to do what she felt good about, where she felt “This is making a difference in the world.” · The area of her life that she explains by saying, “Sometimes it is nature. Sometimes it is nurture.” · How any emotion can be both healthy and unhealthy. Mentioned or Applicable Books and Stories: · The Parable of the Trapeze by Danaan Parry · The Upside of Stress: Why Stress Is Good for You, and How to Get Good at Itby Kelly McGonigal · Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make Us Whole by Susan Cain Bio: Jill is a branding strategist and marketing professional with 25+ years of experience in industries including advertising, hospitality, healthcare, media, nonprofit, publishing and law. She has worked in collaboration with key members of leadership teams and executive committees to develop and foster new strategic relationships and revenue streams for both public and private organizations. She has managed and cultivated hundreds of high profile client accounts, projects and events and has been recognized for launching notable strategic programs to optimize ROI, client experience and market engagement. Today, Jill focuses her work in environments where giving back is the driving force. She is Managing Director of the Connecticut Women's Council, a Branding Strategist at J.Lauren Consulting, and a Cause Entrepreneur at One Hope Wine, an award-winning Napa Valley winery that gives back with every bottle. She's is currently enrolled in Copper Beech Institute's Mindfulness Facilitation Certification Cohort, and she will be certified as a Mindfulness Facilitator after she graduates this November. Jill is on the Development Committee for Mental Health Connecticut, she is certified in Mental Health First Aid, and after going through her own mental health crisis in 2016, she is an advocate for helping those dealing with a mental health challenge. Jill believes there is nothing more important than kindness and that we rise by lifting others. She is a mom to two daughters (age 24 and 21) and considers motherhood and her girls her greatest gift and life accomplishment.

"Connection is everything!" This is the constant theme in today's episode because when we need to have those hard conversations, being connected to the person makes it so much more accessible. You'll learn what it looks like when a child isn't feeling connected to us as parents and what we can do in that moment. I would also add that when anyone isn't feeling connected to someone that they desire to have a connection, certain behaviors reveal themselves. Find out what I mean by the "private pause" and let me know how it works for you when you try it! Amy's Art Palette is developing something very exciting for all pairs who want a deeper connection. Join me again on the couch with the owner of Mindfulness Matters and Healing Leaf Miami, Ms. Retha Boone-Fye. We are talking about her new book, "That Doesn't Smell Sense" and will be doing a meditation exercise. Her book is a LOT OF FUN. Remember sayings like, "he doesn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of," or "it takes two fools to argue", and many others. Remember your mama and grandmother saying these things to you to make a statement? To teach us a lesson?? Her book has 21 chapters and she discusses these types of sayings which includes a story, like "a shut mouth catch no flies". We also do a short meditation exercise. She will talk us into a meditation trance in part two. By the way, here's the link to her new book: https://smile.amazon.com/THAT-DOESNT-SMELL-SENSE-ANCESTRAL/dp/B09FRP8BWH/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=That+Doesn%27t+Smell+Sense&qid=1633310754&sr=8-2 ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/brainlove/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/brainlove/support

If you're not in the now here, you're nowhere. Faiza shared that during our conversation and she learned it from her first mindfulness course. My next guest is Faiza Liban. She is a Mindfulness Facilitator who is passionate about creating communication that is conscious and mindful, and I can tell you our conversation was just that. Faiza shares how her experience being raised in Kenya, immigrating to England and settling down in Miami has inspired her to help parents and children develop their skills to be conscious and mindful. She has a beautiful vision for a global generation that is focused on oneness, not sameness where we include all types of people and appreciate our uniqueness. As Faiza says, lets include. We have so much to offer. Highlights: There are three elements to mindful dialogue that will change the way we see, look and connect with each other. 1, Presence. 2, Awareness. 3, Respond. With these three elements we can actively listen, hear, and respond. Faiza's WHY. Her global experience has inspired her to create a future generation of oneness, not sameness. Faiza grew up in Kenya in a strict Somali and Muslim home. She immigrated to England at 19. Her journey took her to Miami where she now resides with her Jewish husband and two children. Oneness includes diverse people from different cultures, abilities, genders, spiritualities. The future will be about all different types of people coming together. Faiza shares, “If this little girl who grew up in a little village in Africa can transform her life in ways she never thought possible, and can come to a place of so much love having been brought up in a space that was loving, but full of judgement and restriction and not acceptance, boy can we transcend together.” Show Notes: The Awakened Family by Dr. Shefali Babies Documentary Faiza's Facebook groups: Global Minded Parents and Parents Mindfulling and Stumbling During a Pandemic
