The thing about MMA that makes it such a great sport isn't simply the knockouts, submissions and great fights, it that it shows a deeper layer of humanity. Who is really still there when things get tough in a fight? Who is able to put on big time perfomances against starts and hype names? That's what this video is about. Those fights that showed these people are more than their personas.

On this week's show, Joe sits down with Glen P. Norman Jr. to dive deep into his book, S.W.A.G. – The Long Walk In My Shoes. Glen opened up about the emotional journey that inspired the memoir—losing his mother at just 12 years old, navigating hardship, and finding strength through faith, discipline, and purpose. We explored how each chapter reflects a different phase of his growth, and how his story is a message to anyone who's ever felt stuck or broken. We also got into Glen's amateur MMA journey. Where he currently holds a 2–1 record. He broke down both of his dominant TKO victories, including a second-round finish over Titus Young. Glen also shared the story behind his only loss, which came by stoppage due to a glove cutting his eye, not a knockout or submission. It was a freak accident, not a defeat of skill. Glen dedicates his life to transforming others physically and mentally as a personal trainer. In this conversation, we talk about his powerful message for men's mental health, how he helps people reclaim their strength through fitness, and the meaning behind his clothing brand S.W.A.G. A name that's more than style, it's a mindset.

Is it true that exercise doesn't help with weight loss? This week, the Home Team takes on the controversial claim and breaks down what the science (and real life) actually say. From the “Burn” book on hunter-gatherer metabolism to modern 30-day challenges, we explore how the body adapts to energy output, the role of non-exercise activity, and what really moves the needle when it comes to shedding fat.But it's not just about the scale. We dig into how training impacts your longevity, muscle density, mental toughness, and overall health—plus where most people get it wrong when they try to “work off” a bad diet.Later in the episode, we shift gears to youth sports, community engagement, and some hilarious detours—including a CEO caught cheating (at a Coldplay concert) and Shane Gillis showing up at the ESPYs.Timestamps:0:00 The “Burn” book: Hunter-gatherer metabolism myths3:30 Your body adapts to movement—baseline expenditure explained6:03 Is nutrition the only thing that matters for weight loss?8:20 Is exercise actually useless?
