This week on America's Podcast, we bring in Al Horta from the "Be Cool Oh Be Podcast Out" and Blackspinner Circle Podcast to join us for our review of “Waiting For the Punchline” by Extreme. Is it a punchline or a killer overlooked gem? No spoilers here, you must listen to find out! Until next week, remember there's no need to be “Hip Today” - just be yourself! And hey, grammar police, we're just here to have a good time, not to nitpick on grammar! #Extreme #waitingforthepunchline #90s
Episode 7 of season 6 aired on Rebel Rock Radio at 7 pm on 16 Feb 2023. We eased in with The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, and a track called 'Last To Die'. From there we heard Damageplan, the band that arguably cost Dimebag Darrell his life. Red Dragon Cartel gave us a track called 'Big Mouth' featuring Maria Brink on vocals. From there we were cruising, ACDC, Bush, and stuff like that. TSORR is working with Devographic and getting all the brand-new SA releases as they come out, or in our case about 12 hours before. I don't like to lose music time on interviews but I am enjoying these short sort of elevator speech interviews, I think they add value in terms of bringing the artist to you. I spoke to Sheldon Horvatic the guy behind Oceans of Angels who explains his new track called ‘Carnival' off his brand new EP titled The Gift. Later on, when the music got a bit heavier we chatted to Jessy Switchblade, the frontman from SA Metal giants Deadline. The new track 'Monuments' is awesome and shows that old-school metal is alive and well. Mid-show we picked up the pace with Danko Jones and Airbourne with ‘Suicide Woman' and ‘Ready to Rock' respectively. I discovered a Mark Haze album I did not know had been released, the album is called Signs of Life and we checked out 'Step Off'. Mark is one of the best vocalists in the world let alone SA. This week's Immortal track was ‘You Can't Always Get What You Want', The Stones nailed it, big chill all the way. This week on the Ultimate Challenge we looked at 1991. I didn't spread it out as I did last week. I played tracks off the four albums one after the other. It depends on what was going on in your life but for me, 1991 was very special. We checked out Skid Row with ‘Monkey Business', Ozzy Osbourne with ‘Hellraiser', Metallica with ‘Enter Sandman', and Guns ‘n' Roses with ‘You Could Be Mine'. And the winner was………. Music, no one could decide they are all awesome. The rules say you have to choose, it's gun to the head stuff so then it would be G 'N' R. The new In Flames and Winery Dogs sound great, we took a listen. the ending was very chilled, this is because i had a bit of a personal reflection and it marks a very specific point in time, I left it to Bob Dyland and Leonard Cohen to explain. Thanks for listening. With the Labor Day Holiday weekend LC & Bakko are taking a week off. So this week we look back and replay one of our most popular interviews. Jake E Lee from 2018. Originally posted in November 2018, this chat helped get us to a new level so to speak. Jake E Lee joins the program for a wide ranging conversation that covers everything from Ozzy wanting to write songs at 3:00 in the morning, Phil Soussan conspiring against him, not bonding with Ozzy, the Badlands manager trying to blackmail him, how he found out Ray Gillan was sick, the modern way of recording an album, Red Dragon Cartels latest record Patina and SOOOOO much more. Just in time for the Holidays, Jake is the gift that just keeps on giving. A fascinating and at times absurd conversation. You may want to relieve yourself before listening. This one is long. Enjoy.Pantheon Podcasts Pocasts for Music Lovers

To say that being in South Africa right now is difficult is an understatement. The continuous load shedding is playing havoc (hammock :-)) with the broadcasts, you never know when you are going to get cut off or if the cell towers are going to work. Episode 23 of Season 4 went out on 10 June at 7 pm, load shedding kicked in one minute after the show ended, score one for Rock and Roll.We started with W.A.S.P. and ' The Invisible Boy' off their masterpiece, The Crimson Idol. Next, it was the turn of Great White off their '91 album hooked and I highlighted just what a great year 1991 was for new releases. The show was light on both Australian and South African artists, with only Cold Chisel, ACDC, and Fokofpolisiekar getting a slot this week, I will put in some extra SA next week. Cold Chisel's 'Yakuza Girls' off The last Wave of Summer went down very well. We checked out Die Toten Hosen with 'Liebeslied' which just made it impossible no to follow up with The Damned and 'Love Song'. Once again The Doors sounded amazing and clearly, I need to play a bit more of them. Amazing to think Jim Morrison only made it to 27, so young, imagine what he would be putting out these days. Other than that Halford was great and so was Kid Rock, in fact, everything was good, just as it should be. Check it out, i am sure you will find something in here. Artists featured: W.A.S.P., Great White, Soil, Cold Chisel, ACDC, Jorn, Overkill, David Lee Roth, Chickenfoot, Rammstein, Filter, Billy Idol, The Cult, Ivan Ivankovic, The Doors, Pearl Jam, System of a Down, Kiss, Guns 'n' Roses, Accept, The Stranglers, Die Toten Hosen, The Damned, Halford, Dio, Kid Rock, John Mellencamp, Red Dragon Cartel, Mammoth WVH, My Chemical Romance, Staind, Testament, The Horrible Crowes, Halestorm, Foo Fighters, Fokofpolisiekar.
Badlands Today, we are joined by a cool guest host, James West, to review the first album by a group with members who might be more well known for other things they did but we turn people on to this project. Is it worth hearing? Listen to the episode and find out! We had fun making the episode. Our tracks of the week are Grand Funk Railroad's "Sin's A Good Man's Brother", Red Dragon Cartel's "Feeder" and Badlands' "Last Time." We close things with Lee's song "Do Stuff Now." As always, have fun, crank up the stereo and listen... to good podcasts! #jakeElee #badlandsband #rockandroll
Episode 19 of Season 4 aired on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 13 May 2021. Kicking off with Boston is always an excellent idea, there is something about that debut album that just makes everything alright. We took a listen to track No 2 'Peace of Mind'. next up was Jetboy and then we had a reminder of just how great Metallica are with their cover of Budgie's 1973 classic 'Breadfan'. The highlight of the show was giving airtime to the brand new track from KK Downing. As you should know KK left Judas Priest many years ago but seemed to have sore balls about not being invited back. He has now started KK's Priest and pulled in ex-Priest frontman Tim 'Ripper' Owens. To be honest, it is a genius move, Ripper is one of the only guys who could pull this off. The thing here is that KK will get a ton of hate because it is totally a Priest rip off and people will say he is ripping off something that he actually started and was a huge part of for 41 years. Here is my take, listen to the track 'Hellfire Thunderbolt' and just rejoice that we have a new source of the music we love. There can never be too many bands in the world making this style of music in my view. We followed up with the mighty Judas Priest just to calibrate the world. KK has done a great thing but it is not Judas Priest. Other than that we discussed the passing of Tawny Kitaen and did a little tribute to the girl that helped Whitesnake become MTV megastars and wrecked David Coverdale's life :-). Van Halen's 'Drop Dead Legs' was a part of that tribute. We heard a bit more from Gojira, the new album Fortitude, is amazing. Kid Rock always sounds good, his track 'Po-Dunk' hit the spot as did Cold Chisel with 'Flame Trees'. Anyway, check it all out there is plenty to get your teeth into. See ya next week. Artists featured: Boston, Jetboy, Aerosmith, Metallica, Bush, Green Day, Scorpions, Red Dragon Cartel, Leslie West, Jimi Hendrix, Black Star Riders, Black Bone Nation, Type O Negative, The Monks, The Boomtown Rats, Motörhead, Last In Line, KK's priest, Judas Priest, Theory of a Deadman, L.A. Guns, Nirvana, Dogs D'Amour, Ugly Kid Joe, Cold Chisel, The Screaming Jets, Kid Rock, White Zombie, Ruff Majik, Buckcherry, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Gojira, Volbeat, Halestorm, Little Steven, Seasick Steve
Episode 18 of Season 4 aired on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 7 May 2021, it is hard to believe it is May already, the year is flying by. It was a smooth running rock 'n' rolling bit of perfection, starting with W.A.S.P's 'I'm Alive' off Inside The Electric Circus. Other heavyweights we listened to were ACDC with 'Sin City', one of their best with Bon Scott at his finest, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Motörhead, and Irom Maiden. The highlight of the show for me was Dan Patlansky with ' My Dear Boy' off his most recent album Perfection Kills. I pointed out that Dan is not only one of the best blues guitarists in the world, an incredible teacher and all-round decent human being but also has the best guitar tone around. The track demonstrated that as did the next song 'Couldn't Stand the Weather ' by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Punk was covered by the Sex Pistols and the UK Subs and the new stuff came from Thunder, Alice Cooper, and Great Van Fleet. The Thunder album was released this week and is called All The Right Noises, it is very strong. Other notable mentions were the Gojira track called 'Born For One Thing' off Fortitude. It is a monster of an album, the drumming is amazing, its going to be Best Metal Album of the year in all the Metal publications I reckon. More form that next week. Artists featured: W.A.S.P., Cinderella, The Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow, Rory Gallagher, Murderdolls, Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa, Kris Barras Band, Thunder, ACDC, Rival Sons, Greta Van Fleet, Sex Pistols, UK Subs, Anti-Flag, Jerry Cantrell, Mammoth WVH, Alice Cooper, Gojira, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Red Dragon Cartel, Skid Row, , Richie Sambora, Dan Patlansky, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Metallica, Pink Floyd, The Horrible Crowes, Hellyeah, Motörhead, Adrenaline Mob, Zakk Wylde, Tool, Linkin Park, Bush
Episode 7 of Season 4 aired at 7 pm on 18 February 2021. It kicked off with Badlands and 'High Wire' off their stunning debut album released in 1989, Jake E. Lee on guitar, and what an amazing job he did. He should possibly rethink his Red Dragon Cartel and establish a solid blues-rock outfit like Badlands again. Just my view :-). We followed that with Whitesnake, Doug Aldrich, and Reb Beach on guitar and Doug Aldrich featured again later when we took a listen to the brand new Dead Daisies with Glenn Hughes on vocals. 2021 is kicking off with some good new releases, other than the Dead Daisies there is a new Michael Schenker Group and a new The Pretty Reckless. The MSG is getting excellent reviews from the rock press and The Pretty Reckless is getting rave reviews from me. The track played off the new Pretty Reckless was 'And So It Went' featuring Tom Morello. We stayed with Tom and caught 'Exploder' by Audioslave. Last week's dabble into prog continued with some more Porcupine Tree and Forty Six & 2 by Tool. You should find a lot to get your teeth into. Later in the show, I did alert listeners to the fact that I am on Day 3 of testing positive for Covid as it explained a few glaring balls-ups. I have left the show as it is in the interest of accuracy. There are one or two long pauses and memory lapses that can only be attributed to what I call Covid brain. If you have had it you will know. I found a few instances where the song ended and for a few seconds I couldn't remember how to play the next one. I am sure that next week's show will be a bit sharper. Artists featured: Badlands, Whitesnake, King Kobra, Extreme, Foghat, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo, Stiff Little Fingers, The Stranglers, W.A.S.P., Skid Row, Onslaught, U.D.O, The Temperance Movement, Porcupine Tree, Tool, The Pretty Reckless, Audioslave, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Motor Sister, Michael Schenker Group, Rainbow, dead Daisies, The Lazys, Asylum Kids, Sugar Drive Ruff MajikTom Petty & the Heartbreakers, John Mellencamp, Chickenfoot, Adrenaline Mob, Lita Ford, Kid Rock, Led Zeppelin, Rammstein, Joe Satriani.
Time to chat with the drummer of melodic hard rock band Harem Scarem, Darren James Smith! We cover his latest project in Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, musical adventures worldwide, he sings the praises of guitarist Pete Lesperance, and we go over when Harem Scarem became Rubber! If you're from Edmonton, you need to help us figure out some Edmonton venue trivia around the 55 minute mark.
Red talks with Red Dragon Cartel bassist Anthony Esposito.
Season 3 Episode 16 aired on 3 Dec 2020. We are in the final stages of Season 3 now so hang in there it's been a busy year. This episode is unique in that it is perfect in terms of a live take, there were no drop-outs or Wi-Fi issues and all the levels were fine, no editing needed at all. Quite amazing really, the traffic on the road was so backed up I literally was left with 5 min to set up and get on air, it just shows, when you expect the worst you get the best. The show goes live at 7 o'Clock so it was fitting that we started with The Quireboys and their opening track off A Little Bit of What You Fancy called 7 o'Clock, then we had a bit of Kid Rock and some Motörhead. We were all over the place going as heavy as Parkway Drive and as light as Manfred Mann. It looks like it was the first-ever show without an Aussie band, that wasn't intentional it just worked out that way. We also only had 3 SA bands which was also unusual, so in general, this show is a bit different. It was Ozzy Osbourne's birthday so we said hi to him. I really enjoyed Edguy's little dig at the record industry called ‘Life of a Bonus Track'. It's a bit of fun that they recorded in a couple of minutes to satisfy some contractual commitment and it's funny and clever. I also took the gap to hit you with Steel Panther's Death to All But Metal'' and forgot to warn listeners about that little gem. If anyone is offended then I have to say they are probably listening to the wrong radio show J. Check out the video to that track in the website blog section. The highlight for me was a tip of the hat to Wolfgang Van Halen and the way he is handling the death of his much-loved father Edward. We played his track ‘Distance' and then took a listen to the great man himself with a track called Stay Frosty. Another personal highlight was realizing how cool the vocal by Dave Matthews is on The Rolling Stones track Memory Motel. Other than that there was the usual fare, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, W.A.S.P. you know the drill. Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth), Cliff Burton's Base solo Part I was played to remind you that the next Rock Review I do will feature the mighty Metallica. The answer to the inaugural TSORR eclectic thread puzzle was Nita Strauss, I'll tell you why next week. There are 3 connections to Ms. Strauss in S3E16. Artists featured: The Quireboys, Kid Rock, Motörhead, Rainbow, The Offspring, Die Toten Hosen, W.A.S.P., Warrant, Cinderella, Saxon, Metallica, No Friends of Harry, Alice Cooper, Halestorm, Ozzy Osbourne, Red Dragon Cartel, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Coheed & Cambria, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Black Stone Cherry, Junkyard, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Manfred Mann, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Wolfmother, Desperado, Edguy, Steel Panther, Mammoth WVH, Van Halen, Springbok Nude Girls, Stiff Little Fingers, Ramones, Foo Fighters, Tom Waits & Parkway Drive. PS, just realized that the show is not Aussie free, Wolfmother are in there with ‘Pyramid'.
On episode 30 of The Rock N Roll & Coffee Show our guest is Phil Varone, drummer for Saigon Kick, Skid Row and Red Dragon Cartel with Jake E. Lee. Along with Tommy Lee and Matt Cameron, Phil has always been one of my favorite drummers. It was a pleasure getting to chat with Phil about the good and bad time of Saigon Kick, his years with Skid Row and what it was like playing in a band with Jake E Lee. We touch on the dark place he was in during the filming of his documentary Waking Up Dead and his upcoming documentary 30 Years A Drummer as well as his decision to get into comedy and the adult film world. I hope you enjoy this episode. Thanks for listening! Please help the show grow and follow and share on social media! Its a brand new Season, welcome to Season 3 of The Story of Rock and Roll Radio Show. It marks the brand new chapter where I left the radio station and together with 3 other presenters from Mix FM started our very own Rebel Rock Radio. Its a steaming site and TSORR is now excluse to Rebel Rock Radio every Thursday from 7 pm until 10 pm. There are obvious advantages here, firstly you get an extra hour, secondly I am part of a really good team, thirdly I have pretty much no restrictions on what I say or play. My commitment is to bring you the best music in the world and to fly the rock and metal flag until the day I die.The show starts in the middle of Judas Priest with Saints in Hell, there is no Dr Who intro and the opening track Swamp Devil by Circus of Power didn't make the recording. It's done from home with a brand new set-up including new headphones and mic. The mic is still not right but its close now, bear with me, you are here for the music anyway I am sure. Don't adjust your set when there are one or two minor silences while I adjust to the new desk. I can't control the end of the show, if I finish early its silence if I run over it cuts me at 10 sharp. Apologies to The Rolling Stones who were the first victims of that. There was a lot of good stuff on the show Black Sabbath back to back with Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen back to back with Chickenfoot, lots of that sort of thing. We had Seether and Mott the Hoople, some Death Angel and some Ugly Kid Joe. Anyway check it out, it marks the beginning of an exciting time. System of a Down with Violent Pornograpy was another good one to hear. Artists featured: Mott The Hoople, Seether, Death Angel, Judas Priest, Hell Yeah, Ozzy Osbourne, Sheryl Crow, Charlie Sexton, Skid Row, Desolation Angel, Leslie West, Dirty Honey, The Stranglers, Guns 'n' Roses, Black Sabbath, Pirates of Radio, Foo Fighters, Red Dragon Cartel, Fokofpolisiekar, The Offspring, The Wildhearts, Van Halen, Palaye Royale, Cold Chisel, Stiff Little Fingers, Dirty Shirley, The Defiants, Government Car, Deadline, Chickenfoot, Damn Yankees, Anti-Flag, System of a Down, Seether, Desolation Angels, The Gaslight Anthem, Ugly Kid Joe, The Rolling Stones
Season 2, Episode 13 of The Story of Rock and Roll Radio Show took place at midnight on 3 July 2020. It kicked off with the stated intent of getting this place Hotter Than Hell. I think we succeeded but you will have to be the judge. Metallica set a blistering pace with a live version of Hit the Lights off Hard-Wired to Self-Destruct. It was pretty much all fast, driving, rock and roll through until we took a brief Punk break with The Jam and The Stranglers. I say Punk lightly because both bands are prisoners of the genre rather than true examples of the idiosyncrasies of Punk. That being said it set us up nicely for 11 minutes of Judas Priest featuring Richie Faulkner's guitar solo at Wacken in 2016. As shows go this one had a pretty good mix of everything, we went back to 1967 for some Jimi Hendrix and also checked out what Leslie West sounded like in Mountain back in 1971 with Nantucket Sleighride, an often neglected rock classic. There was a nice little bit of nostalgia with The Quireboys and The Dogs D'Amour and the idea of preparing for TSORR 30 years ago. ACDC and Jimmy Barnes took care of the Australian music and Blue Scream and Fokofpolisiekar did the honours for local content. Pop Evil made their TSORR debut with an awesome track called 100 in a 55 and then we were into the dying 15 min leading up to what I considered to be the highlight of the show i.e. playing you the track that I have been addicted to throughout lockdown, Killswitch Engage with Bite the Hand That Feeds. I didn't dedicate it to Jackson, my beloved Border Collie but I could well have J Artists featured: Blue Scream, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, Axel Rudi Pell, Red Dragon Cartel, Fokofpolisiekar, The Stranglers, Mountain, the Jam, ACDC, Pop Evil, The Quireboys, Jimmy Barnes, Black Label Society, Q5, Rainbow, Black Veil Brides, Killswitch Engage, Jimi Hendrix, Mötley Crüe, Billy Squier, Sixx A.M., Judas Priest, Texas Hippie Coalition, The Dogs D'Amour, Metallica.

They wanted us to record Vandenberg's Burning Heart for our second record and we just wouldn't do it. It's not that we tried to intentionally piss Atlantic off. It's just that we had our own plan and followed our own plan. I don't think they appreciated that we wouldn't jump through any hoops for them." Episode 45 went out live at midnight on 22 Nov 2019. The show followed the standard TSORR format, plenty of rock and metal, a smattering of punk, some new stuff, some local artists and some unusual stuff. We had another track from the brand new Equator EP and a track off the new Phil Campbell album, ‘Old Lions Still Roar', he proved that admirably. For the first time in a while, I had some technical problems which resulted in 4 tracks in a row and a bit of editing. It's a first for TSORR because I don't edit the show, what gets said and played goes out as is. In this instance I had to break the rule otherwise you would have had a less than two-hour show. The joys of modern age internet connectivity, the main thing is that all the songs are there. The highlight of the show this week as judged by WhatsApp line commentary was The Stranglers with Toiler on the Sea proving once again how opinions differ when it comes to music. Asking Alexandria made a welcome return to the show and the current love affair with My Chemical Romance continued. Piet Botha's Goeienag Generaal sounded as magnificent as ever, love that sarcastic little chirp where he says “slaap lekker”. Pat Travis Band with Snortin' Whisky was a breath of fresh air and, for me personally, I enjoyed my latest discovery The Damned Things with a track called Bad Blood. All in all, a fairly well-rounded show which felt rushed to me but I was assured didn't to those listening. Artists featured included: Megadeth, L.A. Guns, Queensrÿche, Scorpions, Pat Travis Band, ACDC, Giant, Thin Lizzy, Red Dragon Cartel, Asking Alexandria, Phil Campbell, Drowning Pool, Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, The Damned Things, Tesla, Animal Drive, Equator, Rancid, The Stranglers, The Black Cat Bones, Piet Botha, The Temperance Movement, My Chemical Romance, Motörhead and Duff Mc Kagan
It's Chaos with the Canadian Geeks and Kickin Valentina! Welcome to CGCM Podcast EP#81 - Kickin Valentina (Heber & Chris). With only weeks away from the release of their new EP, Chaos In Coppenhagen, Kickin Valentina's bassist Chris Taylor and guitarist Heber Pampillon take some time to sit down and shoot the shit with the Canadian Geeks. For the uninitiated, Kickin Valentina plays loud, unapologetic rock n roll! Hailing from Atlanta,Georgia the band has been kickin ass and taking names since they founded in 1983. A tried and true live act they have been tearing up stages all over the globe. Be it on tour with acts such as LA Guns, Kix, Skid Row, Faster Pussycat or Red Dragon Cartel or as part of numerous Rock festivals. Kickin Valentina are always ready to deliver the goods. The boys open up about how the band got started, how they came up with the band's name and their D.I.Y. "World Domination" approach to social media. Also discussed is the importance of their fans, their love of Elvis Presley and of course the new "Chaos in Coppenhagen" EP. A 4 song teaser of what is to come with new vocalist D.K. Revelle. Lastly, Chris and Heber take a shot at the "Canadian Inquisition".
Bassist Anthony Esposito joins us this week for an enlightening conversation on his work with three guitar gods. Anthony's musical history makes for a great conversation and, while talking to us, he didn't hold back. In this episode, Anthony discusses the formation and beginnings of Lynch Mob. Founded by original Dokken guitarist George Lynch, the band wowed music fans with 1990's Wicked Sensation album. The partnership of Anthony, Lynch, drummer Mick Brown and singer Oni Logan resulted in a gem of an album from a very transitional time in music. Anthony talks about his audition for the band, his current thoughts on George, and the odds of a Wicked Sensation lineup reunion in 2020. Another guitar great that Anthony worked with is Ace Frehley. When Ace was putting together his comeback album 'Anomaly,' he enlisted Anthony to help with song ideas and production. His role grew from there. You won't believe what happened during the recording of this album as well as the reasons for losing his position in the band. It's a 'what could have been' story to the nth degree. Most recently, Anthony was brought on as bassist for Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel. His solid pocket during the tour for the first album helped hold things together and was a welcome addition on last year's 'Patina' album. In this episode Anthony touches on road stories from the RDC tour, recording conditions for the latest album, working with Jake and Max Norman, as well as the odds of Red Dragon Cartel continuing. We want to thank Anthony Esposito for a fun, candid discussion this week. We hope he'll join us again. We hope you enjoy Conversation with Anthony Esposito and SHARE with a friend! Contact Us! Ep. 43 - Jake E. Lee of OZZY, Red Dragon Cartel, Badlands! Interview!
The fingers behind Ozzy’s Bark at the Moon shares the blisteringly loud setup used to power his new band, Red Dragon Cartel.
Drummer Phil Varone announced his retirement last week, so I thought I'd get him on the show to talk about his career, and dispel some mis-truths that have been circulating on the internet in the last few days. This whole interview came about after I met Phil in passing before a recent show with the band he's now in, Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel. I congratulated him on his retirement and he told me about all the fake news that's out there about it, so this is his chance to set the record straight. We talk about a ton of subjects..... *His band Saigon Kick and how it got their name *How many more gigs he'll play with Jake E. Lee and the guys *His retirement and the rumors around it *What he's going to do after he hangs up his sticks *When he decided to retire *The Red Dragon Cartel *Playing with Jake *His writing, books, shows.... *Touring sober *His time on reality TV *The moment he decided to get sober and his advice to others Al Beck is back with Rock news. What's the next step in the evolution of Stone Temple Pilots, a documentary about the Bay Area thrash scene, Woodstock and a movie that's going to be released next year after lots of rumors. http://www.reddragoncartel.com/ https://twitter.com/REALPHILVARONE https://wrif.com/podcasts/talkin-rock-with-meltdown/ https://twitter.com/MeltdownWRIF https://twitter.com/TalkinRockwith1 https://twitter.com/AlBeckRadio http://www.fullaccessmagazine.com/category/unphiltered/

Jake and I sit down for a few hours and talk all about his time in Ozzy, forming Badlands and his brand new group Red Dragon Cartel. Jake was an epic dream guest and I would like to thank Mike Varney for making this possible. Keep The Candles Lit. DDR

It's the Canadian Geeks BEST OF 2018 Episode! What year would be complete without counting down Wallygator's and the Meisters' Top Albums from the year gone by? Now we understand that every podcast under the sun will have released or will be releasing their versions of their Best Of's but I would be willing to bet that none of them turns a top 10 list into a top 31 like the Meister tried to. So Happy New Beer everyone! We should note that for the fist time in CGCM Podcast history, the geeks were recording from separate locations due to scheduling limitations. We apologize with the slightly lower sound quality that resulted. Technicians are hard at work for the next one. Have a listen as the Meister's head nearly explodes trying to narrow down anything close to a top 10. Now in his defense, there really was an abundance of amazing music released last year. Now don't waste your time trying to find this stuff on the radio, it simply isn't there. Then again, if you are reading these shownotes on our podcast website you already know where to find the latest and greatest in real rock past and present! This episode delivers a dozen tracks pulled from each hosts top 6 albums of the year. You will hear music from Worry Blast, Red Dragon Cartel, U.D.O., Love Razer, Vandellus, Striker, Steel City, Dee Snider, Lee Aaron, Tokyo Blade and the mighty Judas Priest! Musically this could be our best episode yet. Throw in a couple of 2018 released Dick in the Dirt tracks courtesy of Hammer Down Hard - Total Annihilation and Snew's Your Freaking Me Out and what you have is one bad ass year end review show. We also wanted to take a moment and wish all of our listeners and our awesome sponsors a Happy New Year. - Cheers!
This man helps with the Low End of the Rythm Section haning tough. Mr. Anthony Esposito of Jake E Lees Red Dragon Cartel.
Guitarist Jake E Lee phones in on this episode to discuss his new band, Red Dragon Cartel. He discusses their new album, 'Patina,' the band's lineup changes, why he will never play Ozzy songs in his set, his history with Ratt and Ozzy, and clarifies the recent comments he made about Yngwie Malmsteen.
Welcome rock and rollers! Today we some Red Dragon Cartel, Styx, Animal Drive, Nickelback and more!
Welcome rock and rollers! Today we some Red Dragon Cartel, Styx, Animal Drive, Nickelback and more!
Enjoy.

The Southern California hard rock band Swirl, A hard rock band with a strong message of standing up for what you believe in and for music, was formed by guitarist Duane “DT” Jones in Washington State and went on to release their debut CD Out Of Nowhere, produced by Carlos Cavazo (RATT/ Quiet Riot) and Matt Thorr (Rough Cutt, Jailhouse) and toured the United States and Japan in the early 2000’s to moderate success. However, Swirl’s live shows, which are high octane and packed with fans gained them a large and devoted following, second up a national tour between 2008 and 2009. They travelled over 50,000 supporting acts like RATT, Extreme, Cinderella, Slaughter, LA Guns, Souls of We, Red Dragon Cartel, Skid Row and headlining their own shows. Between 2011- 2012 Swirl had a musical makeover and began writing and recording new music outside of the LA area, releasing the album, SWIRL. You have heard and maybe seen Maggie McClure on TV or the big screen. Her songs have energized TV shows such as Dr. Phil, Cougar Town, The Real World, The Vineyard, and The Hills, as well as in feature films like Cowgirls N’ Angels. Born in Oklahoma but now based in LA, McClure has perfected a style of smooth, confessional songwriting that not only deepens the emotion that directors and show runners crave, but also has powered her through more than 1000 shows in over 40 states opening for Sara Bareilles, Alicia Witt, Walk Off The Earth, Tony Lucca, and others. Her third and newest album, Time Moves On -- produced by Justin Glasco, chronicles her move from Oklahoma to LA and what it took to build a career in this vast, competitive music capital.

Mechanics Of The Mind - Goal Is to be surrounded by positive people, that believe in something, because there is that essence in what they hear, or see, or feel, in our music, success for this band is measured in many different forms, for us It, doesn't have to be financial, if its good that will follow, it is about touching others, through our music, fully understanding the power and meaning of the lyrics, and saying to yourself "I get it" http://www.mechanicsofthemind.net/ https://www.facebook.com/mechanicsofthemind/?ref=hl https://twitter.com/tds2277 https://soundcloud.com/terry-scott-15/tracks

We continue our conversation with Greg Chaisson, who discusses Badlands in-depth. He discusses the transition from Eric Singer to Jeff Martin on drums, the recording of Voodoo Highway and goes into detail on the making of Dusk, and how it saw the light of day. He also talks about his solo album (It's About Time), becoming a session player for Shrapnel Records, and the infamous show he played for Jake E Lee's Red Dragon Cartel. He also feels that RDC proves that Jake E. Lee is one of rock's all time great guitarists. I agree.
Every year, the high seas get rocked a little harder during this time of year and 2014 was no exception. The Monsters of Rock Cruise featured around 40 Decibel Geek-worth artists performing rotating sets in the Bahamas aboard the massive MSC Divina cruise ship and our very own Rich "The Meister" Dillon was on board to take it all in. Rich "Meister" Dillon came through Nashville on his way back from the Monsters of Rock cruise to join Aaron, Chris, and Decibel Geek writer Andy Lafon for a discussion of all of the music, atmosphere, and debauchery that took place on the high seas. Underscoring this conversation is music from artists aboard the ship such as Cinderella, Killer Dwarfs, Winger, Red Dragon Cartel, and a bunch more. Dig it!
