Story of failure: Knocking a backup hard rive off my desk and breaking it.Juliet Hahn grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey, a quaint town just outside of Philadelphia. She had a fulfilling childhood and her parents, Marc and Barbara, showered their five children with love, support, and humor. Juliet enjoyed being active which led to her year-round involvement in sports. She brought her love of athletics to Rowan University where she starred as a two-sport athlete. After graduation, she moved to New York City and began a career in advertising. Juliet embraced New York City's culture, diversity, and energy and made it her home for fourteen years. It also happens to be where she met her future husband, Dan. Currently, they reside in Remsenburg, New York with their three children: Montgomery (16), Truman (14), and Penelope (12) and two Boxers.Juliet started her coaching career as a virtual health and fitness coach.  After gaining 65 lbs with each pregnancy and her body changing after 40, she made a conscious effort to exercise and eat a more balanced diet.  The results truly changed her life, and it was her mission to share her formula with others. In 2015, she began a new adventure as a virtual health and fitness coach supporting women to lose weight, become stronger, and regain their confidence. In 2021, Juliet decided to pivot away from health and fitness coaching and into helping people connect to their passions. She offers a workshop called “Your Next Stop” (YNS) that empowers people to find their creative passion and turn it into a business which she believes everyone has the ability to do; they just need the correct tools. In addition to her workshop, she uses her YNS Podcast and YNS Live to highlight people who have turned passions into careers. This platform shares inspiring stories from people all over the world.Through these conversations, Juliet guides people to explore their past in order to connect the dots to their own story. Everyone has a story and it is through sharing, active listening (and sometimes laughing) that people connect and learn from one another.Combining these two paths has led to a partnership with NFL Thread to create a series that explores the lives and stories of NFL spouses and partners. This series chips away at the perception of NFL women and showcases their talents, initiatives and missions. In today's episode Juliet talks about:meeting at Podfeststories at what make people go ‘roundthird grade story and being one of fivespeaking vs. writing with teachersdealing with dyslexia in schoolworking with Dr. P and being away from the other kidsBlue Dolphin bookkids playing while she had to read Blue Dolphintelling herself she wasn't creativenever being with her group of friends in schoolexcelling in sports and hating reading out loudteacher asking her, ‘what are you retarded?'remembering how her mom responded and said how proud she was for standing up for herselfcalling a teacher a bad wordlooking around the room and not understanding what the teacher was talking aboutlearning how to fake ithaving a dyslexic dad in the militarydream of playing sports in collegeguidance counselor telling her she couldn't go to collegeplaying sports at elite level but doing school at a lower levelbeing a terrible test takerhaving the SAT's read to herconstantly being short of her goal on the SAT'sgoing Division III instead of going to Marylandstruggling in math and sciencedysgraphiaher dad making relationship despite being called dumbadhd processinghaving a son that learns in spite of dyslexiateachers not realizing the power of their wordsjust sit and try harderacknowledging and teachingthe more you ask questions, the more you don't get it–clearly I'm dumbthe public system is brokenYour Next Stop Podcaststorytelling is an arttaking other people out of their crazy lifeunderstanding what she was meant to dostreaming on Fireside appNFL series with the LinkedIn of NFL Spousesinterviewing NFL player spousesPivot Podcast - Leaving the NFLinterviewing Ricky Waters and his wifesociety needs to think about the good thingshow players are effecting by fans in good and bad waysher mom being her biggest cheerleaderhaving two really close friends encouraging herhigh school coach that was really hard on her, but it was what she neededher husband being a big mentor and cheerleaderhaving to run with an idea in her headNFL Fashion show and interviewing in Arizonathe NFL Hall of Fame show“Just keep creating and see what happens.”“I don't harp on failures.”story of failing when putting together a websitewanting to focus on her family tripstarting the website without the meatgetting the fire goingfailures as seminarsgrowing up and doing stupid things“If you can't change it, don't stress on it.”pray that it's all going to work outnot dwelling on failureworking with HR on the interview processloving her kids sporting eventsthe problem of not hiring the right peoplerolling out something newmost nervous about figuring out how she is able to carry out her visiongoal of retiring her husband and giving him a choicewanting to be there for her kids and not missing big thingssetting up for the Super Bowl shownot seeing the 't'www.iamjuliethahn.com Your Next Stop PodcastYNS Live PodcastTwitter - @iamjuliethahnInstagram - @iamjuliethahnYouTube----Learn more at www.professional-failure.com!

However, the most successful people seem to get there effortlessly every time.    We're told that the secret to success is hard work. But the truth is, hard work alone doesn't always pay off. We can't let people's stereotypes or their views of our faults or limitations, right or wrong, hold us back. Instead, we have to focus on finding our “edge”—the unique qualities that set us apart—and take strategic steps to make other people see our value and open the doors that will take us where we want to go.   When it comes to having that edge and achieving success in any field starts with knowing yourself, and finding that space where you most feel productive, comfortable, and fulfilled.   Remarkable Quote:   “You have to find a way that you work best and you're most productive.”   “Do not limit yourself. There is a life after TRAGEDY.”   Kathryn Camsey is a mother to 8-year-old Blissbelle and the creator of My Mind Full Of Happiness Guide.   In 2011, something really bad happened to Kathryn's  20-year-old niece, Alice. Her whole family was left devastated. In particular, her 8-year-old niece suddenly found herself without her big sister, and Kathryn desperately wanted to help her smile again.   Kathryn introduced her to the spiritual and mindfulness tools she has always used in her life. She wanted to see if they would help her and if they could be taught in an age-appropriate way. They worked together with each modality and a daily routine, and with the tools, time, and consistency, she managed to regain her happiness and joy in life again.   Seeing her 8-year-old niece flourish by using all these teachings made Kathryn want to empower and give happiness to other children. She spent years researching, reading, taking courses, and learning every technique, spiritual, and mindfulness skill she could. All in an effort to create the most beautiful, detailed, and knowledge mindful children's life guide, ever.    After years of research and working with a powerful team of wellness superheroes (a.k.a. experts in their respective fields), Kathryn created My Mind Full Of Happiness Guide.   Not only are there lessons in the book, but the creation of the book was a huge life lesson...     No matter what happens, there is always something good waiting for you.    Check out My Mind Full Of Happiness Guide at FairyClub.Love. Listening to her calling, almost 14 years ago she pioneered her way and opened Modo yoga Northern Kentucky, the very first hot yoga studio in the area but also the first Modo yoga studio in the United States. Ellen was inspired to open this studio as a vehicle to spread peace and well-being to her community. Since then she and her husband, Michael have opened two more Modo yoga studios becoming the Best in Cincinnati for many years in a row.   Ellen's path to yoga began during her days of playing collegiate tennis at Villanova University. Yoga was a modality to stay healthy and focused during long, physical, grueling seasons. As Ellen's practice of yoga evolved so has her spirit and path. Following the ultimate spiritual practice of “letting go”, in 2016 Ellen and her husband Michael decided to sell everything, except their studios and “World school” their girls. The visión: to see the world as a classroom- connecting & educating their three girls through the diversity and natural wonderment of the world! Over the course of this journey immersing in over 30 countries, they have realized they also are in “World school”...it's not just for their three daughters.   Taking her practice off the yoga mat and into the world, Ellen has been given far more gifts and great life lessons than she ever imagined this journey would bestow.   Now more than ever It is her dream, her passion to share the gift of world school with others! Walking through life with curiosity and not being afraid to jump out of your comfort zone has been one of the greatest educations! Of course, nature has been the foremost classroom. Ellen believes now more than ever  “Connection” back to nature, each other, and one's self is the true education .. a journey that will make the world a better place!   A passionate leader always looking to create a community, Ellen has dedicated her heart to Costa Rica where her family resides. Dedicated to serving, Ellen helped found the Gratitude Group project to put love in action and give back to people often forgotten. The first Gratitude Home was gifted last year, November 2020, to a widow of 4 small children living on a dirt floor.   Ellen helped organize and fund a community for ocean safety after a beautiful woman drowned in front of them on Christmas Day 2020. In less than one year Ellen has steered the ship of Nosara Ocean Safety to help make the beaches in Nosara safer for all through education, prevention, and awareness.   Most recently having 3 teenage girls now ages 13,14,15 Ellen has founded The Ohana Girls Project, a global movement where girls support girls. Girls celebrate their unique diversity and begin to see each other as so much more alike than different. The heart of the Ohana girls project is calling together the collective wisdom and brilliance of women across the world in order to inspire and empower girls.   The first seed of this program was launched in 2021 as an online Self Care program for Teen Girls.   Now more than ever Ellen is passionate to create Ohana, community - giving back & helping make the world a better, brighter place!   Learn more about Ellen on JourneyOfTheGlobe.com. Listen to a new episode of Your Next Stop recorded live on Fireside with host Juliet Hahn featuring Jason Feifer.   “Opportunity Set B: Everything that's available to you that nobody is asking you to do. That is where growth happens. That is where you start to build the foundation for whatever it is that comes next.” - Jason Feifer   Jason Feifer is the editor in chief of Entrepreneur magazine, a podcast host, book author, keynote speaker, startup advisor, and nonstop optimism machine. His goal is to help people become more resilient and adaptable in a world of constant change — to be able to seize new opportunities before anyone else does!   He started as a community newspaper reporter, but quit, then sat in his dingy bedroom next to a cemetery in rural Massachusetts, and started freelance writing. Then he took a job at a slightly larger newspaper, kept freelancing, and then eventually quit, moved to Boston, and insisted that Boston magazine hire him. (He'd been freelancing for them, but he wanted a full-time editor job. It worked.) Then he moved to New York and started hopscotching around magazines (Men's Health, Fast Company, Maxim) while going on TV, speaking on stage, teaching himself to do podcasting, writing a romantic comedy novel, starting a media production company, and more.    Was he good at these new things? He was not! He was terrible at first. But as Ryan Reynolds once told Jason, “You can't be good at something unless you're willing to be bad.”   Jason now occupies a unique space. Through his work at Entrepreneur, he has access to the world's greatest entrepreneurs and is often speaking with the most influential culture-makers. Meanwhile, through his podcast Build For Tomorrow, Jason investigates the history of innovation and the forces that shaped our lives. In short, he finds patterns of success. And that pattern is clear: Change creates opportunity.   Get to more about Jason at JasonFeifer.com. Check him out on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Listen to a new episode of Your Next Stop recorded live on Fireside with host Juliet Hahn on another solo episode where we talk about what our purpose in life is.   “Whether you believe in the universe, whether you believe in God, I truly believe that we all have a purpose.” - Juliet Hahn   Our purpose in life consists of the reasons we get up in the morning. Purpose can offer a sense of direction, shape goals, guide life decisions, influence behavior, and create meaning.   Purpose will always be unique for everyone; what we identify as our path may be different from others. And guess what? Our purpose can actually change and evolve throughout life in response to our shifting priorities and fluctuations of our own experiences.   “Who am I?” “Where do I belong?” “When do I feel fulfilled?”   These are some of the questions that may come up when we reflect upon our life's purpose.   Having a purpose in life is one of the fundamental factors of happiness. Without it, we'll live our lives less focused, less efficient and we'll often feel restless and stressed because we don't feel aligned with the things that we do. Listen to a new episode of Your Next Stop recorded live on Fireside with host Juliet Hahn featuring retired standup comedy legend, and podcaster Lisa Lampanelli.   “Become a noticer of your own life. Just notice and take those small moments. There's no one right path. Just see how you feel in your heart every once in a while, and you'll know the answer.” - Lisa Lampanelli   For more than 30 years, Lisa Lampanelli worked her ass off as a stand-up comedian. She wrote materials, worked her way up from shitty one-nighters to venues as large as Radio City Music Hall, made dozens of TV appearances, did countless roasts, and night after night earned her title as Comedy's Lovable Queen of Mean. But none of those arduous tasks were as difficult as something she's been working on for the last three years: NOT doing standup. Being retired.   Turns out, being in the entertainment business -- running from state to state, from theater to theater, and from one TV taping to another -- was easy. That life fed her constant need for approval, attention, and helped her to distract from any uncomfortable feelings she might have had along the way. By contrast, the work of the last three years -- since her public retirement from stand-up on the Howard Stern Show -- was learning how to sit still, feel her feelings, and not try to earn her worth. Try it . . . seriously . . . that shit is the REAL grind.   Now, after three years of "sitting down instead of standing up," Lisa's beginning to get a taste of what it feels like to have some peace and contentment. Not constantly, of course, but in glimmers. They say it takes more than a couple of tries at retirement to get it right -- to achieve the balance of meaningful activity and rest -- and Lisa might be getting there. She might possibly be the only well-known comedian ever to retire officially from stand-up, to go from four houses to one (the small one in which she grew up), and get rid of 90% of her stuff in the process. That, plus a friend declutter, an achievement purge, and an activity downsize has helped her transition from overworked, angry celebrity to peaceful (for the most part lol) but passionate human, with only one or two tiny joyful projects/hobbies. She looks forward to the rest of this crazy ride.   Lisa's brand-new podcast, Losers with a Dream, advises -- and, let's be honest, sometimes roasts -- her co-hosts, fledgling millennial comedians Beau McDowell and Nick Scopoletti, as they talk about their feelings and tell the truth about their struggles. Luckily for them, Lisa is a half-assed life coach who is twice their age and loves to help. A lot of people are so caught up in doing things perfectly instead of the core business.” - Courtney Claghorn   From a young age, Courtney Claghorn always felt her best with a tan. Ironically, she was the only Italian family member who didn't tan easily! While she used to find this frustrating, she later realized it was a blessing not to have spent her younger years baking in the sun. For her, a faux glow was the way to go.   Before opening the OG Santa Monica salon, Courtney attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she met boyfriend and Co-Founder, Sam Offit. Shortly after graduation, they landed in Santa Monica.   When Courtney found herself overpaying for spray tans at underwhelming locations, Sam encouraged her to find a better solution — and SUGARED + BRONZED was born! Word spread quickly. The growing client base encouraged Courtney to spread her wings from her short-lived corporate life and refocus her energy toward growing her business full-time. She soon became a 4th generation female entrepreneur, so perhaps her Italian half gave her good genes after all!   So why sugaring and bronzing? Concocting the perfect recipe for her business, Courtney, a longtime skincare fanatic, decided to add a little sugar to her sunless tanning idea.  While sugaring has ancient Egyptian roots, it felt relevant to the modern world as a natural, eco-friendly way to remove hair. While developing her business, Courtney quickly realized that sugaring was not only the new waxing but also the perfect complement to a spray tan. Both services were often relegated to the bottom of long spa menus when in actuality, both techniques deserved finesse and attention for clients to receive consistent and optimal results.   Courtney's vision brought the two popular services side by side. SUGARED + BRONZED quickly became a uniquely synergetic space for those seeking a little extra pep in their step. No matter the occasion, SUGARED + BRONZED promises that you'll leave with immaculately smooth skin and a natural faux glow. We believe that “flawless” is a feeling and we're just a vehicle to help you get there.   Check out SUGARED + BRONZED on SugaredAndBronzed.com. Wanting to wear ballet flats and with the temperature falling, Shelby realized she wanted the comfort of a sock with the look of a no show. Traditional footies always fell off her feet, scrunched up in her shoe and never provided warmth; so armed with scissors and an idea, she cut a hole in a pair of knee-high dress socks and the Keysock was born!   Committed to seeing her dream become a reality for other women who have suffered long enough for fashion footwear, Shelby, along with her sister Christy Parry, created the only knee-high no-show socks that stay in place and out of sight. The very thing that makes us human is the stories that each of us has inside. As I quote one of my recent guests on Your Next Stop, “Every single person is another beautiful human story.”    The gift of storytelling belongs to each and every one of us. Storytelling is something we all do naturally, starting at a young age. It is a form of communication to persuade through stories creating memorable, compelling messages. It creates meaning in ways that connect our human emotions and move us to action.   Storytelling gives us a better sense of the world, telling and hearing stories about what is happening and why. We get a visual understanding, a different perception of the world.   Storytelling creates connections among people, and between people and ideas. With our stories, we build familiarity and trust and allow the listener to enter our inner space. At some point, we may influence other people's attitudes, beliefs, knowledge, and behavior. I have started a new series called "Doryn & Friends" Many of you have requested to hear from real women, real stories and real experiences in our 40s.I'm joined by a new friend of mine, Juliet Hahn. I met Juliet on Clubhouse and we had instant chemistry. You are really going to laugh with this one! Juliet inspired a whole episode on our show, with Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler, by sending me this YouTube video... this should show you what you're in for. I was also a guest on her podcast recently and we had an amazing time together. This episode is a bit different, because it was a free-flowing conversation, but I am sure that if you tune in and listen, you will definitely have a lot of fun and learn something too. Juliet is a health and fitness coach and she helps women beyond just their health and fitness.
